Finding The Children

On Saturday, Townhall posted an article about the 300,000 children who went missing after crossing America’s southern border as unaccompanied minors.

The article reports:

Border czar Tom Homan revealed the Trump administration has found tens of thousands of the unaccompanied children who went missing under the Biden administration.

“Out of the 300,000 children, I looked at the numbers just yesterday, we located over 23,000 of them,” he said on Fox News. “So, 23,000 locations of the 300,000. But President Trump is committed. We’re not gonna stop until we find every one of them or at least run every lead down of those 300,000 children. So that’s a big plus for the administration, because the last administration wasn’t even looking for them.”

As the New York Post reported last month, many of these children were “condemned to a ‘conveyor belt’ of rape and abuse.”

The article notes:

When Homan announced the Department of Homeland Security had found 10,000 of the children in July, he blasted the media for ignoring the story.

The article concludes:

Every illegal alien public safety threat we arrest makes this country safer. Every national security threat we take off this street and deport makes us safer and we’re rescuing thousands of children.”

The fact that they are looking for the missing children is encouraging. I hope they locate every one of them.

Better Late Than Never (I Guess)

On Thursday, The Hill posted an article about a policy Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has recently put in place at the Department of Defense.

The article reports:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday said the Pentagon would no longer allow Chinese nationals to work as coders on Department of Defense (DOD) cloud systems.

A program previously allowed Chinese developers to work as “digital escorts” in a role modeled by Microsoft, where foreign nationals remain under the supervision of remote U.S. contractors.

China has a long history of stealing intellectual property, military secrets, etc. Why in the world would you let them anywhere near the computers in the Department of Defense?

The article notes:

Hegseth said the effort “exposed” the department to “unacceptable risks.”

“I mean, if you’re thinking America first and common sense, this doesn’t pass either of those tests. So I initiated an immediate review of this vulnerability, and I want to report our initial findings,” the Defense secretary said in a Wednesday video uploaded to the social platform X.

“So the use of Chinese nationals to service Department of Defense cloud environments, it’s over,” he added.

Hegseth said Microsoft would conduct an audit free of taxpayer expenses to uncover any vulnerabilities.

“Additionally, all Department of Defense software vendors will identify and terminate any Chinese involvement in DOD systems,” Hegseth said.

The article concludes:

Hegseth said both the Microsoft audit and a separate investigation were launched to reveal malware and associated risks.

“We’ve issued a formal letter of concern to Microsoft documenting this breach of trust, and we’re requiring a third-party audit of Microsoft’s digital escort program, including the code and the submissions by Chinese nationals. … I’m also tasking the Department of Defense experts with a separate investigation of the digital escort program and the Chinese Microsoft employees that were involved in it,” Hegseth said Wednesday.

“These investigations will help us determine the impact of this digital escort workaround. Did they put anything in the code that we didn’t know about? We’re going to find out,” he added.

I guess common sense took a vacation for a while. It’s good to see that it’s back.

Common Sense Arrives

On Friday, The New York Post posted an article about the federal funding for offshore wind projects.

The article reports:

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Friday that $679 million in federal funding has been withdrawn for 12 “doomed” offshore wind projects – including three in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The scrapped funding includes $10.5 million for Connecticut’s Bridgeport Port Authority Operations and Maintenance Wind Port project, $20.5 million for New Jersey’s Wind Port at Paulsboro and $48 million for Staten Island’s Arthur Kill Terminal.

The Trump administration plans to spend the withdrawn funds on “real infrastructure” and “restoring American maritime dominance.”

“Wasteful, wind projects are using resources that could otherwise go towards revitalizing America’s maritime industry,” Duffy said in a statement.

“Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg bent over backwards to use transportation dollars for their Green New Scam agenda while ignoring the dire needs of our shipbuilding industry,” Duffy said. “Thanks to President Trump, we are prioritizing real infrastructure improvements over fantasy wind projects.”

At a White House Cabinet meeting earlier this week, President Trump fumed that wind projects were “ruining our country.”

“We’re not allowing any windmills to go up,” the president said. “They’re ruining our country. They’re ugly, they don’t work, they kill your birds. They’re bad for the environment.”

In July 2024, I posted an article about an environmental disaster caused by the failure of a windmill blade off Nantucket in Massachusetts (article here). The failure not only caused the island to have to close beaches because of contamination caused by the disintegration of the blade, but oysters and mussels in the area were contaminated by hazardous fiberglass particles that can cause harm to humans.

In 2020, I posted an article about two Massachusetts town that put up wind turbines in 2016 and voted to remove them in 2020 after approximately 360 complaints from residents in the area. Complaints include shadow flicker, nausea, vertigo, sleep disturbance, headaches, anxiety and sound disturbances. The towns were Bourne and Plymouth. The windmills were situated on Route 25.

We don’t fully understand the impact of low-frequency vibrations on people. Until we do, it might be a good idea to keep windmills away from populated areas.

There may come a day when we find a practical, economical and safe way to harness wind energy, but we are not there yet.

Nantucket’s Interesting Discovery

On Friday, Fox News reported the following:

The sewage in New England’s exclusive Nantucket retreat is full of cocaine, according to local authorities, who this summer began testing it to monitor potential drug use in a popular summer getaway for the rich and powerful.

“During COVID, a lot of these communities, and most communities, decided that it was important for them to start testing the water to see if there were any spikes in COVID in the region.” said Randolph Rice, a Maryland attorney and legal analyst. “But what Nantucket has now decided to do as of the beginning of the summer is to actually start testing for other types of substances, particularly drugs, nicotine and other items…within the system there. And what they’re finding is that there is a high level of cocaine.”

The testing, conducted at the Surfside Wastewater Treatment Facility on Nantucket, found cocaine levels about 50% higher than the national average, according to publicly posted data from local authorities. The same tests found below-average levels of fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid blamed for overdoses around the country.

The article includes the following charts:

To be honest, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I also wonder how many politicians are currently vacationing on Nantucket.

The article notes:

“What’s shocking is that there is a low level of trace items,” Rice told Fox News Digital. “For example, there is very little fentanyl or xylazine, which is also referred to as ‘tranq.’ Oftentimes, these substances are added to [drugs] to make them more potent, but they also make them deadly. So what it’s telling us in Nantucket, is they’re getting the pure stuff.”

Wow.

In Case You Were Wondering…

Recently, there was a fatal traffic accident in Florida caused by an illegal immigrant who could not read or speak English. Many of us wondered how he managed to get his commercial drivers license (I believe that the test for this license is only given in English and Spanish–he was from India).

The dotdriverfiles reports the following:

Starting June 25, 2025, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will begin strictly enforcing English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements for commercial drivers. While this regulation has existed for years under 49 CFR § 391.11(b)(2), the new enforcement approach means drivers who fail roadside language assessments will be immediately placed out-of-service (OOS).

On Friday, Breitbart reported:

Florida police have discovered how migrants who cannot speak English have been getting licenses to drive 18-wheelers on the nation’s highways.

With news breaking all across the country of major highway accidents that have killed Americans perpetrated by non-English speaking migrants behind the wheels of massive semi trucks, many have wondered how they could be getting their licenses. Investigators in Florida have discovered that one way is by using hidden cameras and ear pieces when they enter a drive’s license facility to take their commercial truck driving license (CDL) test, WTLV-TV reported.

Investigators from the Florida State Police have discovered that some foreign-born applicants are using a camera and an ear piece connected to someone outside the DMV facility who speaks their language to cheat on the tests. The applicant uses the camera to scan the test so his cohort can read the questions, then they tell the applicant how to answer the test questions over the ear piece. That way, the migrants can pass the test without having read a single question or understood any of the answers.

Recently, the State Police arrested and convicted several migrants who used this cheat to take CDL tests at a Jacksonville, Florida, DMV. One man arrested in April was sentenced to eight months in prison for the scheme to illegally obtain a Florida CDL, another was handed over to ICE for deportation, and three more satisfied court-ordered measures and their cases were dismissed.

This is a safety issue. Cheating puts all Americans at risk.

The article concludes:

The problem of non-English speaking drivers has skyrocketed since so many migrants took trucking industry jobs after entering the U.S. through President Joe Biden’s loose border policies, either at the southern border or at international airports.

With the spotlight on foreign CDL drivers after a horrendous and fatal accident in Florida this month, Florida officials announced that under a new immigration enforcement program, truck weigh stations in the state will be used as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) checkpoints.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier also announced that agricultural inspection stations will also serve as immigration checkpoints going forward.

Hopefully these actions will make our highways safer.

Rewriting History For Political Purposes

The problem with inflation is that once the prices go up, they don’t always come back down to where they were. Although gas at the pump is comfortably low, a lot of other things that became more expensive under the Biden administration’s runaway inflation have not yet come down to their previous level. Americans are still feeling the impact of the Biden administration’s economic policies. It is wise to keep in mind that President Trump has only been in office since the end of January, and Rome wasn’t built in a day.

On Thursday, The Daily Caller posted an article giving us a preview of the rhetoric we will encounter in the run up to the mid-term elections.

The article reports:

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings reminded former Democratic New York mayoral candidate Michael Blake on Thursday that the affordability crisis began under former President Joe Biden.

Blake claimed that Democratic Iowa state Sen.-elect Catelin Drey defeated the Republican incumbent in the state’s special election because Republicans “cannot articulate a policy agenda” to make Americans’ lives more affordable. Jennings mocked Democrats for sounding the alarm on the affordability crisis when inflation soared to record levels under Biden.

“Well it doesn’t make me very nervous to hear Democrats, with a straight face, looking into a television camera and saying ‘boy, how did we get to this affordability crisis’ given that we all know how we got there over the last four years,” Jennings said.

When Blake blamed President Donald Trump for the inflation under Biden, Jennings said, “So you’re saying we had no affordability crisis during the Biden years? Where did the inflation come from?”

The article notes:

Prices rose more than 20% during Biden’s term in office, jumping from 1.4% at the beginning of Biden’s presidency to its peak of 9.1% in June 2022, the highest annual rate since 1981. Inflation fell below 3% for the first time in two years in July 2024.

Many economists blamed the soaring inflation on the Biden administration spending $1.9 trillion and $750 billion on the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, which Biden signed into law early in his term.

The article concludes:

Jennings said that Democrats tend to perform better in special elections, which contributed to Drey’s victory.

“It’s absolutely true. Democrats now have more voters who are regular voters in non-traditional elections. Specials, off-year, what have you. That’s absolutely true, and so you’ve seen a pattern of Democrats doing better in these elections that don’t happen outside of a regular occurrence,” Jennings added.

It will be interesting to see where the economy is by next November, and if voters want to go back to the inflation numbers we had in the Biden administration.

The Carrot And The Stick

President Trump’s move to place the National Guard has had a mixed reaction. The residents of the parts of the city where crime has been a problem are now enjoying the downward trend in crime. Those who were not impacted by the high crime have enjoyed the luxury of criticizing the move. Washington, D.C., is a unique case–because it is under federal jurisdiction, the President has the authority to send in the National Guard. Whether or not he has that authority in other high-crime cities is questionable. However, one Governor is willing to discuss the issue (on his terms).

On Thursday, Red State reported:

President Donald Trump has found massive success in the nation’s capital with cutting crime after the federalization of law enforcement in D.C., and now Maryland’s Democrat Governor Wes Moore admits he would love Trump’s help on crime. But there’s a catch.

Speaking to Fox News’ Will Cain on “The Will Cain Show,” Moore was asked why he wouldn’t welcome the “President of the United States” to help with crime in Maryland, with Baltimore ranking “third in the nation in violent crime rate per capita.”

“The truth isn’t partisan, and the truth is most of the major cities in the United States are run by Democrat governors,” the Fox News host added. “And they are also the highest-rate crime cities in the country.”

“I would absolutely welcome federal support,” the Democrat governor said.

Moore’s response clearly shocked Cain, who said, “There we go. You would welcome the federal support. That’s wonderful to hear. I’m sure the president will be happy to hear that.”

The two men ended up mostly talking over each other, making it hard to hear what they were saying. However, it sounded like Moore said that while he would “absolutely welcome the federal support,” there was a big “but” in there, that it was going to be on his terms.

Moore would accept federal support, but this is the catch:

“But I also know what federal support is going to be necessary and required,” the governor said. “It’s the reason that I said we would love to have additional support for license plate readers. Things that we know can actually stop crimes as they are happening, and making sure the people are brought to justice.”

License plate readers are not the answer. The public does not need every move they made surveilled by the government. I believe that license plate readers are a violation of the Fourth Amendment of our Constitution. This is simply another example of Democrats wanting to control the movements of everyday Americans.

What The News Media Failed To Mention

A young girl in Scotland has been charged with possession of a knife after viral footage showed her and another minor being approached and filmed by at least one foreign man. Much of the media has shown the picture of the girl without asking too many questions as to why she had a knife and who was filming the incident.

On Thursday, Hot Air posted an article that added some context to the story.

The article reports:

A 14-year-old girl in Scotland has been charged with possession of a knife after viral footage showed her and another minor being approached and filmed by at least one foreign man.

The girl brandishes a knife and an axe before walking away from the scene.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the Lochee area of Dundee.

“She will be reported to the relevant authorities,” said a Police Scotland spokesperson.

She was arrested, of course, because she brandished weapons in self-defense. Lots of pious liberals complained that she was the aggressor, and we really shouldn’t be prejudiced and assume that the migrant was a genuine threat.

This is the same Great Britain that has been dealing with migrant r@pe gangs for decades, with the government covering up the problem and arresting the victims and not the perpetrators.

It certainly appears that the “victim” began filming when she started fighting back, presumably in an attempt to get her arrested. In that he succeeded–he obviously knows the two-tier justice system well, as all migrants do now.

The article includes a report of the incident by the girl’s mother:

So first of all, the reporting got the names of the girls mixed up. There were 3 girls who were there who were accosted and attacked by the migrants.

Lola – Lola is the hero from the video. She’s the one with the axe defending her sister from the migrant attackers

Ruby – Lola’s older sister who was attacked and hospitalized

Mayah – Ruby’s best friend who was with them and went to call the police after Ruby was attacked by the migrants

Here’s the summary of what happened from Mayah’s mother:

“Yes. So what happened was the girls where out just walking and the man in the picture made comments to lola(the younger girl) calling her sexy and other sexual remarks then the girls started to tell this man to leave them alone and stop following them and making sexual remarks to them. After that the man’s sister (also in the picture) came around the corner and physically attacked ruby(the older sister) she grabbed her hair dragged her to the floor started to punch her then both the man and woman where kicking her in head while she was on the floor. At this point my daughter (mayah) called the police so my daughters account after that is all abit blurry.  But that is when lola had the weapons she pulled them out to protect ruby. After that the man came back at lola recording her making sure she showed the weapons to the camera and antagonising her. Ruby was hospitalised after the attack with a severe concussion a tennis ball sized lump to the back of her head aswell as lots of bruises.”

The article notes a very uncomfortable truth:

Yeah, well, look at Scotland and the UK now. Rates of sexual assaults are off the charts, governments are protecting the offenders, and 14-year-old girls are defending themselves and their sisters from predators, and getting arrested for it.

The Rule of Law in Britain is gone.

The Coast Guard Is Doing Its Job

As our southern border is made more secure, it becomes more difficult for the cartels and other nefarious people to smuggle drugs into America. Our coastlines provide one opportunity. Years ago, some of southermy friends actually found a mysterious package on Atlantic Beach. When they called the police, and the police investigated, it was a bundle of marijuana that evidently had fallen off a smuggler’s boat. Drug smuggling is not a distant problem.

On Tuesday, The Daily Caller reported:

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) announced a stunning seizure of illicit narcotics seized from “transnational criminal organizations,” including 23 million potentially lethal doses of cocaine, offloading the massive haul in Port Everglades — the largest quantity in Coast Guard history.

The USCG seized 76,140 pounds of illicit narcotics, valued at $473 million, in 19 interdictions conducted in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific, according to the USCG announcement Monday. The haul constituted 61,740 pounds of cocaine and around 14,400 pounds of marijuana, with patrols intercepting drug-laden vessels as far away as the Galapagos Islands off Ecuador and other remote parts of the Pacific.

The article notes:

President Donald Trump has made a push to crack down on the drug trade, designating a slew of Latin American drug cartels as terrorist organizations and authorizing the military to target the groups. Additionally, more military assets are reportedly set to deploy to the southern Caribbean to intensify the fight against cartels and the drug trade.

The real solution to the drug smuggling is to eliminate the American market, but that may not be possible. Many communities, including the county I live in, make an effort to encourage people caught with illegal drugs to go to a treatment center instead of jail. Unfortunately, drug treatment centers don’t work unless the person wants to end their dependence on drugs. We need to stop drug smuggling, but we also need to find a way that works to help the people addicted to drugs.

Defeating China Economically

Author:  R. Alan Harrop, Ph.D.

It should be abundantly clear to every American by now that communist China is out to dominate the world and replace the United States as the most powerful nation. China is a threat not only to our country, but to western civilization as a whole. The breadth of their effort is mind boggling. They leave no stone unturned, in their effort to achieve world dominance. Sadly, many of our country’s leaders, until President Trump took office, have not only failed to recognize the threat, but in some cases have actually facilitated China’s efforts. To defeat an adversary, it is essential to recognize accurately the tactics they are employing.

The question facing us now is whether we can reassert our previous economic strength to ensure that China does not achieve economic dominance. Fortunately, President Trump not only recognizes the threat, but is determined to rebuild our economic prowess, particularly in manufacturing. For too long, our presidents have failed to take action to stop and reverse the transfer of our essential manufacturing capacity overseas. We have increasingly become a country of importers instead of producers, which not only makes us less wealthy and independent, but makes us militarily vulnerable.

The federal government has even contributed to the decline of manufacturing in this country by implementing unwise policies. One glaring example was the North Atlantic Fair-Trade Agreement (NAFTA) signed into law by President Clinton in 1994. This agreement resulted in many U.S. manufacturers moving to Mexico, and to a lesser extent Canada, particularly in the areas of food production, textiles, and automobile manufacturing. The result was the loss of over a million good paying jobs and the suppression of the wages of American workers. Also, our trade deficits with these two trading partners rose dramatically. Fortunately, President Trump in his first term was able to do away with NAFTA and negotiate a fair deal with Mexico and Canada. Another disastrous government action was the granting of permanent-most-favored-nation status to China in the year 2000. Permanent-most-favored-nation status had previously required annual approval by our president. As a result, many American companies rushed to take advantage of the much lower wages paid to Chinese workers as well as weaker environmental requirements and other factors by moving their manufacturing plants to China. As a result, our global trade deficit soared from $381 billion in 2000 to $945 billion in 2022.

Historically, we have rapidly declined from a manufacturing powerhouse to dependency on other countries. For example, it was largely the economic manufacturing capacity of America that resulted in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan during World War II. We were rightly called the arsenal of democracy since we not only were able to produce enough military equipment to meet our needs, but supplied these items to our allies. Even the Soviet Union benefited, since we provided over 30% of the military equipment they used to help defeat Nazi Germany. Clearly, a strong manufacturing capacity is essential to national security.

Here are some ways that we can regain our manufacturing capacity and ensure we are able to stand up to China as needed. First, we must insist on a level, fair playing field in our dealings with China and other countries. For example, Communist China provides substantial government financial support to their steel manufacturing companies. This makes it next to impossible for American companies to compete, since the Chinese can sell steel at prices that are actually below the cost of production. Communist China also requires our companies to turn over their manufacturing patents and technology if they want to do business in China. Communist China has consistently violated fair trade agreements and has begun using other countries as sites for their manufacturing to avoid tariffs and other restrictions. Not only should President Trump continue his tariff policies to reign in China but their status as permanent-most-favored nation needs to be revoked. Second, we must refocus our educational system to ensure sufficient skilled workers for an expanding manufacturing system in our country. We must get away from the college for all idea and refocus on the trades, engineering, robotics, and vocational training. Many college graduates spend inordinate amounts of money on useless college degrees that do not prepare them for available jobs and careers. The federal government spends billions of our tax payer money supporting colleges and universities. Much of these funds should be redirected to practical job skill training including apprenticeships.

President Trump has done a great job in the short period of time he has been back in office to return manufacturing to this country. He has incentivized American and foreign companies to build new manufacturing plants in our country. Congress needs to step up and confront the reality that we must not allow communist China to grow their economy at our expense. Competition must be fair and equitable, which it will never be with communist China. Americans need to be encouraged to “Buy American.” Our survival in an increasingly risky world depends on having a strong economy. We did it once, and must do it again.

The Key To Peace In Ukraine

One of President Trump’s strong points is his ability to use economic leverage to solve international issues. He has begun to use that principle on Russia and Ukraine, but so far both countries have resisted his efforts–Russia because it wants a warm-water port and Ukraine because of the amount of money flowing into the country that is unaccounted for.

On Monday, The New York Post posted an opinion piece with some suggestions that might speed along the negotiations.

The opinion piece states:

President Donald Trump wants to stop the killing in Ukraine, but Russia’s foot-dragging is making it abundantly clear that he’ll need to apply far more pressure before any serious negotiations can begin.

To do so, Trump will have to squeeze Russia’s primary source of income, its oil revenues — without upending the global energy market in the process.

In an interview that aired Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected US-backed security guarantees for Ukraine and balked at Trump’s push for direct talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Putin insists that Ukrainian forces withdraw from the Kyiv-controlled parts of the country’s eastern Donbas region — an idea Ukraine has rightly dismissed as a non-starter — and demands a host of other concessions aimed at making what’s left of Ukraine a vassal state.

So long as Putin conditions the war’s end on maximalist terms, fighting will continue.

…The simplest, most impactful move would be to threaten a new sanctions regime against any company or bank involved in the purchase of Russian oil.

If done right, Trump could bolster America’s negotiating leverage without spiking oil prices.

State-run oil refiners in both India and China have so far flouted Trump’s tariffs, but those firms would run scared from US financial sanctions, which would render those companies — and the banks processing their transactions — toxic to the global financial system.

As part of a new energy sanctions framework, the Treasury Department could allow Chinese and Indian firms to continue importing Russian crude only if they gradually reduce those purchases — and then deposit the money owed Russia in escrow accounts in Beijing and New Delhi.

This would sever Moscow’s access to much-needed revenue without suddenly cutting off global access to the barrels themselves, keeping the oil market stable.

Such a move would simultaneously facilitate the purchase of more American energy, as Trump continues his multi-dimensional trade talks with India, China and others.

Crippling the Russian economy would end the war. How to deal with the corruption in Ukraine would be a different challenge. At some point in the future, we may find out that much of the money going to Ukraine somehow winds up in American political campaign coffers. That might explain why so much of Congress is not really interested in peace.

Insulting The Republican Voters Of North Carolina

The Democrats are NOT the ones insulting the Republican voters in North Carolina–the Washington elite Republicans are!

On Tuesday, The Daily Haymaker reported:

In a memo compiled by the NRSC and obtained by NOTUS, the committee laid out why it believes this seat is firmly in Republican hands. […]

“Democrats will continue to treat it like a battleground, but President Trump’s dominance across three election cycles, voter registration trends, and overwhelming support for conservative priorities all point in one direction: continued GOP dominance in North Carolina’s federal elections and a Senator Michael Whatley,” the memo reads.

The memo points to how Trump won the state three times and how he “improved his vote share in 83 out of 100 counties and made significant gains in rural and working-class communities across the state.”

“Since 2008, the last time Democrats won a Senate seat in North Carolina, their voter registration advantage has collapsed, with a more than 850,000-voter shift toward Republicans,” the memo says. “Nearly 10% of that occurred since President Trump’s re-election in November 2024, narrowing the Democrat advantage to just 18,019 today and positioning Republicans to take the lead for the first time in North Carolina’s history before voting begins next fall.” […]

Michael Whatley has not won the Primary Election yet, and the Plan of Organization of the North Carolina Republican Party bars the party from endorsing candidates in the Primary Election. Admittedly, this is Washington endorsing Whatley, but that makes it worse. Do the voters of North Carolina have a voice?

The article also notes:

DC did this to us at least once before with Elizabeth Dole — who ran in 2002 despite having not resided in North Carolina since the (Lyndon not Andrew) Johnson administration.  That political master-stroke earned us the pleasure of six years of Kay Hagan.

There will be a primary for this US Senate seat in 2026 — despite the scam the political establishment and the compliant liars in the drive-by media are trying to perpetrate.  At least one Republican not named Whatley –  Washington County native, Mecklenburg County attorney and current Union County resident Don Brown — will be on the primary ballot. Check him out.

The political class in DC and Raleigh fear those of us in the unwashed class sending them someone who can’t be bought off and will actually stand for something and DO what he or she promised on the campaign trail.  THAT is why they try to pretend there is no primary. THAT is why they want to talk about November instead of the March party primary.

Primaries are one of the few ways we in the unwashed crowd get to make our voices heard.  Stomping out the primaries leaves us with the rotten general election choices who have been selected and paid off by the monied special interests. Not a single public servant among them.

This is not acceptable. If Washington pushes Whatley to the point that he wins the primary, I will seriously consider leaving my vote for Senate blank. The Republican elites will use the same argument for Whatley that they used for Thom Tillis–“if you don’t vote for him, the Democrats will win the seat.” We saw how that worked out. If the Republican elites pick our candidate, the Democrats might as well have the seat.

Look At Actions–Not Words

On August 18th, The U.K. Daily Mail posted an article about President Obama’s Presidential Library.

The article reports:

President Barack Obama’s promise to build and revitalize blighted neighborhoods was a centerpiece of his first term in the White House.

But now, nearly nine years after he left the Oval Office, he might be destroying one critical area in the city he called home, the Daily Mail can reveal.

His $850 million presidential center in Chicago – due to open in April – has come under fire from residents, community leaders and even onetime supporters who now warn that the massive 19.3-acre facility in Jackson Park is gentrifying the neighborhood, increasing rent and forcing families out.

Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor, who represents much of the area where the center is being built, told the Daily Mail she is a fan of Obama and believes in the project but has fought aspects of it to protect her constituents. Her efforts have had mixed results.

The article continues:

‘We’re going to see small landlords having to raise the rent,’ warned Taylor. ‘Their property taxes are going up and we’re going to see development that is not inclusive to our community.’

Allison Davis of Aquinnah Investment Trust, who has close ties with Obama, plans to build a 26-story, 250-room luxury hotel just down the street from the center.

And Taylor said ‘$300,000 and $400,000 homes that nobody can afford’ are already popping up around the area on Chicago’s poverty-stricken South Side.

Taylor is not the only critic.

‘It looks like this big piece of rock that just landed here out of nowhere in what used to be a really nice landscape of trees and flowers,’ Ken Woodard, 39, an attorney and father of six who grew up in the area told Daily Mail. ‘It’s a monstrosity.

‘It’s over budget, it’s taking way too long to finish and it’s going to drive up prices and bring headaches and problems for everyone who lives here.
‘It feels like a washing away of the neighborhood and culture that used to be here.’

The article includes a picture of the library. I guess I just don’t understand modern architecture. According to the article, the library will eventually have an athletic center, gardens, a playground, a restaurant, a sledding hill, and a branch of the Chicago Public Library. I guess that’s nice, but I don’t think I would appreciate the amenities if I could no longer afford to live in the neighborhood.

Insanity In Our Schools

On Tuesday, American Greatness posted an article about a form young girls in the Temecula Valley Unified School District TVUSD have to fill out if they are uncomfortable with sharing bathroom spaces with biological males.

The article reports:

The Temecula Valley Unified School District TVUSD has reportedly enacted a rule that tells female students who feel uncomfortable sharing  bathroom space with biological males must file a mental health accommodation request under federal law if they want privacy.

The move has prompted outrage from parents and others who say that the rule treats those girls who object to sharing private space with biological males as the problem and treating their request for privacy as a type of disability.

The form, required by the school district, falls under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and California Education Code § 56000.

That law is intended to accommodate children with authentic disabilities, including epilepsy, severe anxiety disorders and diabetes.

The policy is raising concerns among parents who say that school officials or special interest groups pushing gender ideology should not be allowed to redefine basic rights, such as privacy, as “accommodations.”

This is the form:

It is no wonder that homeschooling becomes more popular every year.

When All Of The Team Is Not On The Same Side

On Monday, Sam Faddis posted an article at AND Magazine detailing some of the problems the Trump administration is dealing with concerning the deep state and the corruption in the intelligence community. Sam Faddis is a retired CIA operations officer and is one of the guest lecturers in the Hillsdale College course dealing with the problems in the current intelligence community.

The article begins with a quote from Devin Nunes:

Imagine where we sit today, with all the things going on around the world, and the President has to have the DOJ, the FBI, the CIA, his own intelligence board, all making sure the intelligence is not weaponized. I mean, it’s rather incredible, this is something that is unprecedented in the United States of America.”

Devin Nunes, Chairman, President’s Intelligence Advisory Board (PIAB)

The article reports:

According to CBS News, on July 20, 2025, DNI Tulsi Gabbard directed American intelligence agencies not to share intelligence on the Ukraine peace negotiations even with our closest allies, the other members of the so-called Five Eyes: Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. These English-speaking nations have historically had a unique relationship with the United States in the world of intelligence gathering.

It needs to be noted that most, if not all of these countries played a role in the Russia Collusion Hoax.

The article notes:

Gabbard took this action because she was concerned that our intelligence agencies might pass to these other nations sensitive intelligence on the ongoing negotiations that would be harmful to our national interests and negatively impact the President’s efforts to bring the Ukraine-Russia conflict to an end. In practice, what this means is that she directed that all such intelligence be marked NOFORN, a designator that means the intelligence product in question cannot be passed to any foreign entity.

That may seem like the kind of routine administrative action that happens every day, but if you think about it in the context of how the Intelligence Community (IC) works, the fact that Gabbard had to do this is very troubling. All intelligence products are categorized in some fashion in accordance with their sensitivity and their source. Intelligence concerning ongoing negotiations by the President of the United States with the heads of state of Ukraine and Russia and involving multiple European nations would, in the course of business, ALWAYS be categorized as NOFORN. It would be essentially unthinkable that any American intelligence agency would have intelligence on something of this sensitivity, directly involving the President, and then pass that information to a foreign power.

Getting To The Root Of The Problem

The Democrat party has turned non-profits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) into cash cows. That is one of the reasons Democrats were so upset about defunding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Even if the Democrats (and some Republicans) were not skimming money directly, the boards of many of these organizations included their relatives who were paid exorbitant sums of many.

On Monday, The New York Post posted an editorial explaining how some of this works and what can be done to stop it.

The editorial states:

Starting to lift the lid off a far, far larger scam, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick just nixed $7 billion in “advance payments” that Biden administration staffers aimed to divert to a “nonprofit” controlled by other Democratic insiders.

The bigger scam being, of course, how the left (and lots of plain-old Dem machines) feeds off government-funded “charities.”

It’s a huge part of the “swamp,” though of course its denizens pretend their motives don’t reek.

In this case, the Bidenites were in too much of a hurry to make the theft fully legal: After President Donald Trump’s victory last November, high-level staff all across the executive branch rushed to corral cash that hadn’t yet gone out the door, lest the MAGA crew actually vet where it was going.

So some plugged-in Dems quickly created Natcast, a public-private not-for-profit — which the Bidenites immediately chose to direct tens of billions of dollars in subsidies to tech firms under the CHIPS Act.

Except that law never allowed for such a cut-out to handle the outlays — which made the diversion plainly illegal: Even if nobody ever goes to jail for it, Lutnick can at least claw back the funds.

That was just part of the looting frenzy; another scheme parked $20 billion at CitiBank with an eye on ensuring the “environmental justice” grants went to Democratic allies, such as one linked to Stacey Abrams, the failed Georgia gov candidate and election-denier.

EPA chief Lee Zeldin moved to rescind that insider dealing after getting wind of Bidenites at his agency “throwing gold bars” away before the Trumpies could take over.

The Need To Be Self-Sustaining

On August 26th, Yahoo Finance posted an article about the sudden spike in the price of rare earth elements. These are the elements that are necessary for the high-tech batteries, weapons, and necessary parts for our electronics. America is beginning to mine rare earth elements–we have them here, but we are late to the game.

The article reports:

Prices of two rare earth elements needed for super-strong magnets have surged to their highest in more than two years after U.S. miner MP Materials (MP) stopped raw material exports to leading magnet maker China amid rising demand.

China dominates the global supply chain for rare earths, accounting for 90% of refining capacity and around 70% of mined output, but the U.S. has pushed back, signing a deal with its biggest producer MP in July to refine its output domestically.

MP’s shipments had in the past three years fed 7%-9% of China’s oxide production from mine output of rare earths neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr) – vital to magnets that power electric vehicles, wind turbines and defence equipment – consultancy Adamas said.

The article notes:

Its 40% rally after several years of weakness will boost prospects for mine projects seeking investment outside China as the West seeks to wean off reliance on Beijing.

Boosting the West’s rare earth output became more urgent after China clamped down on exports in April amid a trade war with the U.S., prompting some auto plants to shut.

The U.S. government announced a ground-breaking deal with MP last month stipulating the company halt shipments to China. It also offered price support to MP for the NdPr it produces based on $110 per kg, at the time about twice the Chinese price.

China has been working hard in recent years to corner the rare-earth market. We need to consider the fact that China thinks in decades and centuries while America generally thinks in strategies of ten years or less. America needs to up its game.

Rerouting Money To Good Use

On Sunday, Hot Air posted an article about some of the changes being made in the way the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs spends its money.

The article quotes an article at The Center Square:

“VA staff will now get to spend more time with Veterans, VA facilities can focus on treating Veterans, and VA can manage its staff according to Veterans’ needs and national security requirements, not union demands,” VA Secretary Doug Collins said.

Earlier this month, Veterans Affairs canceled its contracts with most unions on Wednesday, saying the unions fight against the best interests of veterans. VA said the move follows President Donald Trump’s executive order from March to do away with public employee unions at the federal level after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted a preliminary injunction that previously stopped 21 agencies from implementing the executive order.

Before 1962, federal employees did not have the right to collective bargaining. On January 17, 1962, President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 10988 that granted federal employees the right to collective bargaining.Theoretically, an Executive Order by a President can be reversed later by a different President. This could get interesting.

The article at The Center Square reports:

When VA canceled those contacts, it cut the number of VA bargaining unit employees from about 375,000 to about 7,000. Trump’s executive order exempted public safety employee unions, so employment contracts covering VA police officers, firefighters and security guards represented by unions will remain in place.

VA is redirecting nearly $45 million per year in federal funds from unions to America’s Veterans by ending taxpayer-funded union time, reclaiming federal office space used for public union activities, and getting back federal IT equipment.

Ending taxpayer-funded union time is expected to save the most money. In 2024, VA spent $39.75 million to allowed 1,961 VA employees to spend nearly 750,000 hours working on behalf of government unions rather than VA beneficiaries. After ditching the union contract, the agency no longer has to allow union employees to do union work on taxpayer time.

VA officials said that vast majority of these employees are back working full time for VA in the positions they were hired to do rather than doing work on behalf of the union. This includes more than 1,000 employees serving in direct patient-care roles.

VA also reclaimed more than 180,000 square feet of office space worth about $5.4 million that had been provided to unions free of charge. The space will be repurposed to serve VA beneficiaries, including expanded administrative and clinical services in several facilities across the country.

Our veterans deserve the best healthcare available.

What Has Changed In The Streets Of Washington, D.C.?

It’s been nine days since President Trump brought in the National Guard to help the police in Washington. Obviously, the National Guard is not the entire answer–policies in place for dealing with criminals need to be examined and possibly changed. But the impact of simply bringing in the National Guard has been significant.

On Sunday, Townhall reported:

As of this week, Washington, D.C. has now gone nine consecutive days without a single murder — a striking and rare milestone in a city long plagued by violent crime. While the left-wing media hesitates to give credit where it’s due, the facts are clear. This sudden drop in violence follows directly on the heels of President Donald Trump’s decisive federal crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital.

…Since the crackdown began, arrests have surged. Hundreds of criminals, including repeat offenders and undocumented individuals with lengthy records, have been taken off the streets. Violent crime has dropped dramatically. Carjackings, robberies, and assaults are down. And for over a week now, not a single person has been murdered in a city that has too often accepted daily violence as the norm.

This outcome is not a coincidence. It is what happens when leadership stops making excuses and starts enforcing the law. For years, progressive policies and soft-on-crime prosecutors have turned a blind eye to criminal behavior, emboldening gangs and repeat offenders while everyday citizens suffered. The Trump administration’s willingness to step in and do what local leaders refused to do has made an immediate difference.

The article concludes:

President Trump recently announced that Chicago could be the next city to see a federal intervention similar to his crackdown in Washington, D.C., telling reporters, “I think Chicago will be our next,” and adding, “And then we’ll help with New York.” His remarks signal an escalation in his national law-and-order agenda, targeting crime, homelessness, and illegal immigration in major Democrat-led cities. The response from Illinois officials was swift and critical. Gov. JB Pritzker (D), Mayor Brandon Johnson (D), and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D) condemned the plan as unnecessary, politically driven, and potentially illegal, pointing out that Chicago has already seen significant declines in violent crime, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) echoed those concerns, stating that Trump lacks the legal authority to deploy troops in Chicago without a formal request from the state.

Cleaning up Washington, D.C., could easily have been done without the intervention of President Trump. At some point, you have to ask yourself why the Mayor didn’t do it. That same question should be asked of the Democrats who objected to cleaning up Washington and seem to be objecting to cleaning up other major cities. If you don’t want the President to clean up your city, do it yourself!

When A Truckdriver Is Not Able To Read The Road Signs

The recent traffic accident in Florida that resulted in the death of three people was awful, and avoidable. The driver of the truck was unable to speak English or read the street signs that would have prevented him from taking the turn that resulted in the crash.

On Saturday, Red State posted an article about the accident, quoting The TCPalm:

A California man charged with vehicular homicide and manslaughter in a two-vehicle crash on Florida’s Turnpike that left three dead earlier this month has been ordered held without bail.

Harjinder Singh, 28, an undocumented immigrant from India, made his first appearance Aug. 23 from the St. Lucie County Jail via a Zoom link to the downtown Fort Pierce courthouse. He is charged with three counts each of vehicular homicide and manslaughter.

No bail was set for each of the six charges, primarily because of his status as an undocumented immigrant.

“The court finds you present a substantial flight risk, and there are no conditions of release that will ensure your appearance at trial,” 19th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lauren Sweet told Singh.

The article at Red State notes that he is an illegal immigrant, not a “California man.”

Red State previously reported:

In-cab video showed Harjinder Singh and a driving companion using an “official use only” turnaround on a highway. As they entered the opposing lane of traffic, a minivan slammed into the side of the trailer, destroying it beyond all recognition. Its three occupants were killed, and Singh is now in custody, facing manslaughter charges.

That wasn’t the end of the ordeal, though. As Florida authorities began to dig into the truck driver’s background, they discovered he’s an illegal immigrant. Worse, he was issued a commercial driver’s license under Newsom’s sanctuary state policies.

The article posted on Saturday concludes:

If, as it seems, Harjinder Singh has limited or no understanding of spoken or written English, how did he pass the tests to gain that California CDL?

How is it that California issued a CDL to a man who was in the country illegally?

Don’t CDL applicants have to present some kind of ID when applying? What ID did Singh use?

These are inexcusable lapses on the part of the state of California, and three people are dead because of it.

This continues to be a developing story. We will bring you updates as events warrant.

Those are good questions.

Under President Biden, It Was The “Just Us” Department

On Thursday, Just the News posted an article about some new information regarding leaks of classified information to news sources. It’s a very long article, but it is worth the effort to read the entire article. John Solomon is one of the few current journalists doing actual research into the government.

The article reports:

Federal prosecutors gathered evidence from James Comey’s top lieutenants that he authorized the leak of classified information to reporters just before the 2016 election but declined to bring criminal charges, according to recently declassified memos that call into question the former FBI director’s testimony to Congress.

The bombshell revelations involving ex-FBI general counsel James Baker and ex-Comey chief of staff James Rybicki were memorialized in documents that FBI Director Kash Patel discovered earlier this year, but the passages were originally redacted by the Justice Department in versions sent to Congress earlier this month.

Attorney General Pam Bondi intervened and eliminated the redactions, dispatching new versions of the memos this week to the House and Senate Judiciary committees, officials told Just the News.

…”The USPIS (U.S. Postal Inspection Service) Investigation also revealed Baker disclosed USG [U.S. government] classified information to the NYT under the belief he was ultimately instructed and authorized to do so by then FBI Director James Comey,” one summary memo reads. “For example, during interviews, Baker indicated FBI Chief of Staff James Rybicki instructed him (Baker) to disclose the information to the NYT, and Baker understood Rybicki was conveying this instruction and authorization from Comey.”

…Patel told Just the News the evidence he uncovered raised concerns that one of his predecessors may have authorized illegal leaks and lied about it.

“These newly declassified memos show how former FBI leadership authorized classified leaks and withheld the truth from Congress and the American people,” he said. “Thanks to President Trump’s commitment to transparency, the cover-up is being exposed. The public deserves nothing less than full accountability.”

The article concludes:

The New York Post reported in October 2020 that emails from the laptop showed evidence of shady business dealings by the son of President Joe Biden tied to Ukraine and China. When the publication attempted to post the articles on its Twitter account, the social media company said doing so violated its rule against sharing “hacked” materials.

Baker, the now-former Twitter deputy general counsel, defended his and Twitter’s actions related to the Hunter Biden laptop censorship saga.

“I was not aware of and certainly did not engage in any conspiracy or other effort to do anything unethical, improper, or unlawful while I was at Twitter. Period,” Baker told the House in 2023.

“I did not act unlawfully or otherwise inappropriately in any manner with respect to Hunter Biden’s laptop computer. … I am aware of no unlawful collusion with, or direction from, any government agency or political campaign on how Twitter should have handled the Hunter Biden laptop situation.”

Still waiting for some perp walks.

The Impact of DOGE

On Friday, Breitbart posted an article about some of the changes President Trump is making in the federal workforce.

The article reports:

New Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Scott Kupor told several news outlets, most recently the New York Times, that the federal workforce will drop from 2.4 million to 2.1 million employees, largely as the result of the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) efforts.

In a lengthy interview this week with Washington, DC, station WTOP, Kupor said that up to 80 percent of the reductions come from federal workers choosing to access buyouts or another program that paid them while they looked for other work.

The article concludes:

CNN has featured a tracker of employee reductions implemented by the Trump administration. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) dismissed some 10,000 employees when it was dismantled entirely.

Others, as Breitbart News reported,  include more than 20,000 employees reportedly cut or accepting buyouts at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Some 7,300 have been dismissed at the Internal Revenue Service, according to the CNN tracker.

Kupor told the Times he doesn’t expect any significant new layoff announcements this year, Forbes reported.

Kupor, confirmed to his position in July, comes from the private sector, where he was a managing partner at Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm.

He told the TV station he’s well aware of the personal consequences for some of those who no longer have federal jobs.

“I recognize and understand we’re talking about very serious things. Anytime we do layoffs or reductions, you know, that impacts people’s families, it impacts people’s friends, it impacts their ability to be contributing members to their community,” he said. “And look, we need to recognize and understand that is a difficult thing for people to live through.”
