We Need To Change Our Strategy

America’s programs to end homelessness have failed. It’s time to reevaluate and develop a new strategy.

On Saturday, The Daily Wire reported:

Former President Barack Obama’s approach to combat homelessness has been “a disaster on every level,” according to Texas Public Policy Foundation senior fellow Michele Steeb.

Steeb is an expert on homelessness and author of “Answers Behind the Red Door: Battling the Homeless Epidemic.” She said in an interview with Morning Wire that homelessness in the United States, and especially in California, has dramatically worsened since the federal government adopted “housing first” as its singular approach to homelessness.

The Bush administration first introduced the Housing First model to federal policy in 2008. The Obama administration massively expanded the policy in 2013, turning into the federal government’s “one-size-fits-all” approach to homelessness.

“Thankfully, the Trump administration has stepped in and said at the federal level, we need to reprioritize mental health treatment. Drug and alcohol counseling needs to be offered in conjunction with housing,” said Steeb, “and we need to clear these encampments because these encampments have become so dangerous. Not just for the individuals living in them, pets are now overdosing, women are being trafficked, and there’s spillover effects to the general public that have been devastating.”

The article notes:

“Up until about 12 years ago, the federal government funded shelters, they funded transitional housing. They funded mental health and drug and alcohol treatment along with that housing,” said Steeb.

Mental health and substance abuse play a major role in homelessness. The pictures of tent shelters coming out of some of our major cities include open drug use and discarded needles.

Homelessness is a symptom of a much larger problem–mental health and drug abuse. Those issues need to be addressed in order to solve homelessness. One of the problems is that you need some level of cooperation from the homeless person in order to address those issues. Homelessness has increased in places where money was given for shelter but not to deal with drug and mental health issues. We need to tackle both.

Bringing Safety To Our Roadways

On Saturday, Breitbart posted an article detailing some recent efforts by federal and state authorities to keep our roads safe.

The article reports:

Federal and state authorities arrested nearly 250 foreign commercial truck drivers in November alone, warning that cartel operatives and foreign nationals are exploiting America’s commercial driver licensing system to infiltrate freight corridors and endanger national security.

A nationwide crackdown on foreign drivers with Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) led to the apprehension of nearly 250 drivers in Arizona, Indiana, Wyoming, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and even New York and California. The federally led operation followed orders from President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to remove these often-dangerous drivers from American highways. Many of the drivers were found to be illegally present in the United States.

The article cites one example of the national security risk:

An example of the potential national security threat revealed itself with the arrest in Kansas on November 9 of an Uzbek national who is a member of a known terrorist organization, Breitbart’s John Binder reported. ICE agents arrested 31-year-old illegal alien Akhror Bozorov as he operated a commercial vehicle with a Pennsylvania-issued CDL. The driver, wanted in his home country of Uzbekistan for terrorist activities, entered the U.S. illegally in February 2023 and was released into the U.S. by the Biden administration.

“Not only was Akhror Bozorov — a wanted terrorist — released into the country by the Biden administration, but he was he was also given a commercial driver’s license by Governor Shapiro’s Pennsylvania,” Department of Homeland Security’s Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“This should go without saying, but terrorist illegal aliens should not be operating 18-wheelers on America’s highways,” McLaughlin said. “Biden and Mayorkas allowed countless terrorists to come into our country. President Trump and Secretary Noem unleashed ICE to target these national security threats.”

The article concludes:

Despite federal judges blocking parts of Trump’s emergency rule, enforcement raids are expanding nationwide. DHS officials say the message is clear: foreign CDL drivers are now viewed as a frontline national security threat.

A terrorist can do a lot of damage with a truck.

Realizing The Threat

On Friday, The Dallas Express posted an article about the ordered deportation of Marwan Marouf, 54, a Jordanian national who has lived in the United States for roughly 30 years. This sounds a little harsh until you look closely at the details.

The article reports:

Marwan Marouf, 54, a Jordanian national who has lived in the United States for roughly 30 years, has served as the public relations and fundraising director for the Muslim-American Society’s DFW chapter. He has been held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody since September.

The Dallas Express previously reported that ICE arrested Marouf in September and charged him with lacking a valid entry document, soliciting funds for a Tier III undesignated terrorist organization, and providing “material support” to terrorism.

Marouf was initially charged with overstaying his visa. In recent weeks, the Department of Homeland Security filed additional allegations accusing him of soliciting funds for a terrorist organization, according to KERA.

During a hearing last Thursday, Immigration Judge Abdias E. Tida denied Marouf’s request for voluntary departure, citing donations he allegedly made to the Holy Land Foundation. Attorneys argued he should be granted post-conclusion voluntary departure to address an urgent cardiac condition — Brugada syndrome — before leaving the country. Tida rejected the request.

…The deportation ruling comes as Texas officials have intensified scrutiny of organizations connected—directly or indirectly—to the Holy Land Foundation case.

Gov. Greg Abbott recently designated the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations under state law, as reported by The Dallas Express. The designation bars both groups from purchasing land in Texas and authorizes Attorney General Ken Paxton to pursue enforcement actions.

Abbott’s proclamation cited evidence introduced during the Holy Land Foundation prosecution, including documents and internal records linking CAIR to the Muslim Brotherhood’s U.S. network.

Here is the link to An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America. The document is from 1991 and explains the methods and goals in turning America into a country governed by Sharia law. This document was part of the government exhibits in the Holy Land Foundation Trial. If you are unfamiliar with that trial, please look it up. It explains a lot. If you are skeptical, look around and read the definition of a color revolution. The beginning of a color revolution is to undermine citizens’ faith in their government and to encourage disrespect of those enforcing the law. The groundwork is currently being laid.

Losing Respect For The Law And Those Who Enforce It

America’s large cities have been sliding into lawlessness for quite a while. It is amazing that so few people actually spent time in jail after the riots of 2020. It is also amazing that many Americans no longer respect the fact that America has borders and that people who cross those borders illegally are criminals. The lack of respect for the law has led to a lack of respect for those who are paid to enforce the law.

On Friday, Just the News posted an article about the alarming increase in assaults on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) agents who are simply doing their job of enforcing the law.

The article reports:

Assaults against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are up 1,153% in 11 months, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

As ICE officers continue to arrest illegal migrants and some of the most violent criminals nationwide, citizens and others have increasingly obstructed their efforts, including physically attacking them and threatening to kill them, according to multiple reports nationwide.

Among those most recently arrested for alleged death threats are a Virginia high school assistant principal and his brother.

Earlier this month, DHS and the Virginia Beach Police Department launched an investigation into brothers John Wilson Bennett and Mark Booth Bennett, after an off-duty Norfolk Virginia Police Department officer overheard them discussing plans to “kill police officers and ICE agents,” DHS said.

Note that they were going to kill police officers as well as ICE agents.

A quick google search tells you the following:

Some of the instruments of a color revolution are non-violent protests, civil disobedience, and political demonstrations aimed at challenging authoritarian regimes, often triggered by perceived electoral fraud or corruption. They typically involve mass mobilization, the use of social media for organization, and support from external influences or NGOs. Color revolutions are very often instruments for the destruction of democratic governments in transition. In revolutions, government is the goal and political change is the goal.

I believe that someone (or some group) is attempting to start a color revolution in America. It is up to Americans to refuse to be divided and to refuse to take part in any protest that involves or might involve violence. We need to make sure we understand who is funding any political movement we choose to support or any protest we choose to join.

Examples of assaults include hitting, spitting, kicking, biting, attempted strangulation, drive-by shootings and cartel bounties, The Center Square reported.

Despite these threats, ICE officers are prioritizing arresting violent criminals, including those with removal orders from federal immigration judges. The overwhelming majority being arrested, 70%, have criminal convictions or pending charges, ICE says. The 70% figure excludes those wanted for violent crimes in other countries, including those with INTERPOL notices and human rights violators, among others, ICE says.

ICE is encouraging Americans to report suspicious criminal activity, threats against ICE officers and their family members, as well as doxxing, by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or submitting a tip online.

Doing Things Legally Has Value

On Friday, Fox Business posted an article about the efforts being made to insure that federal benefits designed to help Americans go to Americans. If charitable groups want to help people who are here illegally, they are welcome to–but not with American taxpayer dollars.

The article reports:

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday his department is working to cut off federal benefits to illegal immigrants at the direction of President Donald Trump.

Bessent wrote in a post on X that “we are working to cut off federal benefits to illegal aliens and preserve them for U.S. Citizens.”

He said the Treasury “announced that it will issue proposed regulations clarifying that the refunded portions of certain individual income tax benefits are no longer available to illegal and other non-qualified aliens, covering the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Additional Child Tax Credit, the American Opportunity Tax Credit, and the Saver’s Match Credit.”

Bessent’s post alluded to an announcement made by the Treasury Department last week that it will propose new regulations clarifying that refundable portions of those tax credits are “federal public benefits” that illegal immigrants and nonqualified aliens aren’t entitled to receive.

The article also reports:

The Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) announced Friday that it is issuing an alert to financial institutions to prevent illegal aliens from exploiting the U.S. financial system by moving illicitly obtained funds.

The announcement notes that money services businesses (MSBs) are generally required to file a suspicious activity report for a transaction that involves at least $2,000 and that the MSBs know, suspect or have reason to suspect is relevant to a possible legal or regulatory violation.

America should not be a country where people enter illegally in order to receive free stuff. Nor should it be a clearing house for money earned through illegal activities. One way to go after the cartels is through the money laundering they engage in to hide their profits in drug running and human trafficking.

Looking At The Results

On Tuesday, The Washington Free Beacon posted an article about the results of placing the National Guard in Memphis.

According to a News Nation article posted on Tuesday, “Memphis had the nation’s highest violent crime rate in 2024, with a total crime rate 344% above the national average, according to officials. The city recorded nearly 300 homicides last year and nearly 400 in 2023.”

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

Since the Trump administration first deployed federal officers to Memphis in late September, the city has seen a 48 percent decrease in homicides, Attorney General Pam Bondi said during a press conference on Monday. The “Memphis Safe Task Force” has also led to a 45 percent year-over-year decrease in “overall serious crime,” a 49 percent drop in sexual assaults, and nearly 3,000 arrests, she told reporters, adding that the task force has recovered more than 100 missing children in less than two months.

…The news of the task force’s results comes as Bondi and the Trump administration face pushback and legal challenges from Tennessee Democrats. A state judge blocked the administration’s deployment of the National Guard in Memphis earlier this month after critics argued that the move violated Tennessee law.

When the Founding Fathers wrote the U.S. Constitution, they assumed that the individual states and cities would work to keep their cities and states safe. Unfortunately, that has not always been the case. Judges have not always upheld the law, and people who should not be walking the streets are walking the streets. I have been told by law enforcement that the majority of crimes are committed by repeat offenders. If we lock up first-time offenders, they are not able to repeat offend. I don’t like to see the National Guard used in this way, but if the local government won’t clean up their city, then someone else has to step in and do it.

Sad News From Washington, D.C.

On Thursday, Just the News reported that President Trump announced that Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of West Virginia, a National Guardsman who was shot Wednesday in Washington, D.C., has died. She and Guardsman Andrew Wolfe were ambushed by an Afghani national.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national. 

On Wednesday, Breitbart reported:

In November 2021, just as former President Joe Biden’s administration was importing thousands of Afghan nationals to the United States every week, then-Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that “not all” Afghans were being vetted with “in-person, refugee interviews,” an admission that shocked members of Congress.

On Wednesday, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal of Afghanistan left two National Guardsmen in critical condition after he allegedly opened fire on them while shouting “Allahu Akbar,” law enforcement officials say.

Lakanwal arrived in the U.S. in 2021 as part of Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome, carried out by Mayorkas at the time, which ultimately resettled tens of thousands of Afghans in American communities.

In November 2021, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Mayorkas admitted to members of Congress that not every Afghan national brought to the U.S. following the withdrawal of American troops in Afghanistan had been vetted in-person.

“We are not conducting in-person, refugee interviews of 100 percent individuals,” Mayorkas said.

The article at Breitbart concludes:

In September 2021, before a Senate hearing, then-Secretary of State Antony Blinken also admitted that vetting was unlikely to have occurred for thousands of Afghan nationals before they boarded planes to the U.S.

“What percentage of [Afghans] were vetted before they actually got on those planes?” Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) asked Blinken.

“Before they got on their airplanes to leave Kabul? Certainly not, most of them were not,” Blinken admitted.

We need to examine very carefully the people from Muslim countries that are coming into America. I am sure many of them are peaceful people only looking for a quiet place to raise their families, but we need to find a way to sort the peaceful people who want to assimilate into America from the Islamists. The fact that the murderer yelled, “Allahu Akbar” while firing on his victims might be a clue that he has not assimilated.

Leaving Out Important Information For Political Purposes

President Trump has been in office for less than a year. When he stepped into office, the economy was not gaining jobs at the rate that had been previously reported, and inflation was going through the roof. The Biden administration’s push for green energy had sent energy prices soaring, and the killing of massive numbers of chickens resulted in a dramatic increase in the price of eggs. Overall, the American worker was getting squeezed by rising energy and food costs. Things have gotten better under the Trump administration–the price at the gas pump is down, egg prices are down, and the rate of inflation has slowed. Unfortunately, once prices go up, they rarely come down, but we have seen some prices actually come down.

On Thursday, Power Line Blog posted an article about one approach the Democrats are attempting to use to win voters. If the voters are paying attention, there is no way this will work.

One Person Truly Responsible For Thanksgiving

Peter Marshall was born in 1940. He died in 2010. He was the son of the former Senate Chaplain Peter Marshall and author Catherine Marshall. He wrote the book The Light and the Glory, published in 1977, a history of America from the Pilgrims through the Presidency of George Washington. The information below is taken from that book.

On November 11, the Mayflower dropped anchor on Cape Cod. In December, the crew moved the Mayflower into a more sheltered harbor inside Cape Cod Bay. In March, as they were creating their settlement, an Indian strolled casually down their main street and into their common house where he said “Welcome.”

That Indian was Samoset, the Chief of the Algonquin Tribe of Maine. He asked for a beer. They didn’t have beer, so they offered him brandy, which he accepted. He provided the Pilgrims with information about the Indian tribes in the area. He explained to the Pilgrims that the land they were settling on had belonged to the Patuxet Indians, a hostile tribe known for killing any white man they encountered. The Patuxet Tribe had been wiped out by a mysterious plague four years before the Pilgrims arrived. Other tribes considered the land cursed and would not settle there. The nearest Indians were the Wampanoag Tribe about 50 miles southwest of where the Pilgrims had settled. Samoset spent the night with the Pilgrims and headed off the next day with gifts for Massasoit, the head of the Wampanoag Tribe.

The next week, Samoset returned with Massasoit, some of his braves, and Squanto, who would act as a translator. Squanto was a Patuxet Indian who had escaped the plague because he had been captured and sold into slavery twice—once to England and once to Spain. Because Squanto was devastated when he finally got back to Massachusetts and found out that all of his tribe had perished, he decided to stay with the Pilgrims to help them settle in their new land.

Squanto taught the Pilgrims how to hunt deer, plant pumpkins among the corn, refine maple syrup, collect beaver pelts, and other much needed survival skills. Without the help of Squanto, the Pilgrims would probably not have survived.

We Really Can Select Better Candidates

Graham Platner is the Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine. On Monday, Legal Insurrection posted an article about some of his recent statements.

The article reports:

…his campaign manager fled the campaign to “spend more time with family” after it was revealed that the political hopeful had Nazi symbolism as body art.

Mainers should consider this a rare moment of truth in political advertising. Platner recently urged his supporters to publicly harass members of Maine’s congressional delegation who oppose Medicare for All.

During a town hall event in Windham, Maine, Platner stated that to advance progressive policies, his supporters must be willing to “impose costs” on lawmakers who don’t support the initiative. Free Beacon contributor Jessica Costescu has the details:

“We need to be able to turn people out to flood their offices. Frankly, I want people to follow them around and don’t let them have a public dinner without getting yelled at. Because that’s power. That’s real power.”

Platner justified those tactics as a way of building “secondary power.” He said they’re a proven form of political pressure and that “American history tells us that that’s exactly the power that we have.”

“We also have to build secondary power. Real power of organization, the power to turn people out, the power to shut things down, frankly, the power to impose costs,” Platner said. “If we can’t impose costs, then they’ll never listen to us, because they won’t care.”

This is a false argument promising free stuff that working Americans have to pay for.

If we can get the government out of healthcare, we can go back to the days when healthcare was actually affordable. As an example (the 1970 number is from personal experience in Rhode Island), in 1970 it cost $600 to have a baby (without health insurance), that would be about $5,009.94 in today’s dollars. Today, according momlovesbest.com the cost is $4,884 – $10,681 with health insurance and $9,013 – $19,775 without health insurance. That is well past the rate of inflation. Where is the extra money paid going? We have always had hospitals. We have always had doctors. What we haven’t always had is a huge bureaucracy controlling medicine. That’s the expense to get rid of.

Another Step Away From The Constitution

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article reporting that a Minnesota judge has thrown out a jury’s guilty verdict.

The article reports:

We’ve told you quite a bit about Minnesota’s ongoing fraud problems, the vast majority of them stemming from the large Somali population in and around Minneapolis. The state has paused Medicaid payments over fraud concerns (and that fraud has led to at least one death), and millions of dollars were laundered through the Feeding Our Future program and state housing programs, too. A lot of that money ended up in the hands of Al-Shabaab, the largest terrorist group in Somalia.

Despite all the evidence of fraud, a Minnesota judge has just overturned a jury’s guilty verdict in one Medicare fraud case, paving the way for all the other fraud convictions to be overturned as well.

The jury heard that Yusuf and his wife were charged and the jury learned his “home health company” was operated out of a mailbox at an address where multiple other “home health companies” als operated. The state showed they spent tens of thousands of dollars on luxury items.

The jury quickly found the couple guilty. Now, a judge in Hennepin County, Sarah West, has overturned that verdict.

“It’s reversing or overturning a jury’s verdict,” said defense attorney Joe Tamburino. Tamburino was not affiliated with Yusuf’s case but looked at the judge’s decision.

According to Tamburino, Judge West said the state’s cased relied “heavily on circumstantial evidence” and that the state did not “exclude other reasonable, rational inferences.”

“That, in fact, there could’ve been other reasonable theories other than guilt in this case. That’s what it comes down to,” Tamburino said.

Remind me again why we have juries.

There are a number of legal cases working their way through the courts involving Feeding Our Future. The writers at Power Line Blog have followed these cases (some recent examples here and here). The amount of fraud is unbelievable and people need to be held accountable.

We’ve Seen This Movie Before

We have seen this movie before; we can only hope it will end differently this time. Does anyone remember Bill Ayers saying, “Guilty as hell, free as a bird—America is a great country”? Bill Ayers (a good friend of Barack Obama) was a member of the Weatherman, a domestic terrorist group that took credit for 12 bombings between 1970 and 1974 (including a bombing of the United States Capitol). Bill Ayers was not charged with a crime because the FBI’s investigation methods were deemed unconstitutional, which compromised the ability to prosecute him and other members of the Weather Underground.

On Monday, Just The News posted an article about the dismissal of the criminal indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) after finding that the prosecutor who brought the cases was not lawfully appointed. As much as I don’t like the dismissal, I agree with the judge. This was an instance where the Trump administration cut some corners it should not have cut.

I believe James Comey and Letitia James belong in jail. Comey for illegal surveillance of Americans and using the Justice Department for political purposes (although that was not what he was charged with) and James for a mortgage fraud crime that she as an Attorney General sent people to jail for. However, that is not the issue. This case was simply not handled properly. The whole thing was an unnecessary rookie mistake.

Comey was charged in September with obstruction of justice and making a false statement to Congress in 2020. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and challenged the legitimacy of the case brought by Halligan.

James was indicted for one count of bank fraud and one count of making a false statement to a financial institution. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the indictment, James purchased a house in Norfolk, Va., with a loan that prohibited her from using the home as a rental investment property, which prosecutors allege saved her “approximately $18,933 over the life of the loan.”

The statute of limitations has run out on the Comey charges, so they might not be brought up again, but the statute of limitations on the charges against Letitia James has not run out, so she will probably be charged again. Comey will likely get caught up in the Russiagate investigation and may face justice on the charges that result from that investigation.

I Hope There Are Consequence For This

The dust-up over the video made by six legislators telling the military to disobey illegal orders does not seem to be going away. I hope it doesn’t until there are some consequences for the video. I don’t think too many people would argue with the concept that it is right to disobey illegal orders–but that is not exactly what the video is about.

On Monday, Townhall reported:

Last week, Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and other Democrats shared a video directed at members of the military and intelligence communities. In that video, they said our armed forces have an obligation to disobey “illegal orders” given by President Trump and his administration.

…Now, Slotkin went on ABC and admitted the President has not issued any illegal orders.

“To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela,” Slotkin said.

Is enforcing the Monroe Doctrine illegal? Asking for a friend.

The article notes:

The legacy media isn’t dumb. They know exactly what Slotkin and her colleagues meant by “illegal orders” — orders Democrats don’t like. And those Democrats were fine with men and women of our military facing serious consequences under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which can include the death penalty for treasonous behavior.

No one believes the Democrats would “have their backs” because Congress cannot change the outcome of a court-martial. A President could, in theory, pardon or commute a sentence handed down by the military, but that’s a heck of a gamble. What if a Democrat doesn’t win in 2028 or 2032? Is Slotkin expecting a member of the military to spend the next decade in prison so Democrats can brag they resisted Trump?

Vice President J.D. Vance reminded Slotkin and friends that what they did was, in fact, illegal.

J.D. Vance tweeted:

If the president hasn’t issued illegal orders, them members of Congress telling the military to defy the president is by definition illegal.

On Sunday, The Conservative Treehouse noted:

CIA Analyst and Senator, Elissa Slotkin, appears on ABC’s Face the Nation to defend herself from accusations of unlawful conduct following a video she produced telling military and intelligence officers to defy President Trump’s orders.

Senator Slotkin’s behavior is classic tradecraft when she appears in media.

Slotkin claimed the video was intended to draw attention to the unlawful orders that President Trump has used; however, when asked to give an example of a illegal order issued by President Trump, Slotkin nervously admits there aren’t any.

The Fallout From Ending Some Of The Government Corruption

One of the biggest money-laundering operations in America was known as USAID (United States Agency for International Development). In March, the State Department announced that it was effectively dissolving USAID. Many family members of our legislators were employed by the agency in various levels, so they had to find new jobs, but there were other ramifications. 

On Sunday, The Daily Signal posted an article about one result of the end of USAID.

The article reports:

Arabella Advisors, a for-profit company that managed services for many influential dark money nonprofits on the Left, is no more—or so it seems.

Sunflower Services, a new public benefit corporation, announced on Monday that it would be acquiring “Arabella Advisors’ fiscal sponsorship servicing business.” Meanwhile, Arabella’s former CEO, Himesh Bhise, announced that he would lead a supposedly new company, Vital Impact.

A Nov. 19 email to Arabella Advisors received an automated response stating, “As of November 17, 2025 Arabella Advisors has ceased operations.”

What, exactly, is Sunflower Services? Well, it’s a completely new company financed by… lead investor New Venture Fund, with financial support from the Windward and Hopewell Funds.

These names should be familiar to longtime observers of Arabella Advisors. New Venture Fund, Windward Fund, and Hopewell Fund are three of the “seven sisters” dark money nonprofits that received services from Arabella. These are the nonprofits organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

These groups acted as “fiscal sponsors,” housing various quasi-independent projects that did not register as separate entities. Critics say this system allows donors to fund activist projects through the nonprofits—cloaking what their dollars are actually paying for. These groups funded many of the left-wing activist groups that fed staff and ideas into the Biden administration, particularly pushing climate alarmism. The Open Society Foundations, founded by Hungarian American billionaire George Soros and now run by his son, Alex, has contributed millions to the nonprofits who were Arabella’s clients.

The other nonprofits—Sixteen Thirty Fund, North Fund, and Impetus Fund—more politically active groups organized under Section 501(c)(4), were notably absent from the Sunflower Services press release.

The Cost Of Thanksgiving

On Saturday, Breitbart posted an article about the cost of celebrating Thanksgiving this year.

The article reports:

The cost of a traditional Thanksgiving meal is down sharply this year, falling to the lowest price since 2021, according to the American Farm Bureau.

The farm bureau’s 40th annual survey found that a classic Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people will cost $55.18, down five percent from last year.

Since 1986, volunteers across all 50 states and Puerto Rico have been organized by the American Farm Bureau (AFB) to record local prices for turkey, cubed stuffing, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, frozen peas, fresh cranberries, celery, carrots, pumpkin pie mix and crusts, whipping cream and whole milk.

Prices soared during the presidency of Joe Biden, with inflation rising to the worst pace in forty years. The price of a classic Thankgiving meal surged 14 percent in 2021, Biden’s first year in office, hitting a then-record high of $53.31.

Despite the administration’s insistence that the price increases were “transitory” or the result of a temporary supply shock, the following year what came to be called Bidenflation was even worse. The price of a Thanksgiving meal jumped another 20 percent, skyrocketing to $64.05.

By Biden’s final Thanksigiving, the price of a traditional family holiday meal was 24 percent higher than it was when he took office.

The article concludes:

The decline in price vindicates President Trump’s recent claims about the Thanksgiving meal becoming more affordable for American families. The decline is all the more notable because it defies predictions that President Trump’s trade and immigration policies would drive prices up.

I can guarantee that if the Democrats gain control of either Congress of the White House in the coming years, inflation will rear its ugly head again. Although President Trump and Congress have not yet been able to cut spending as much as I would like, I believe that they will continue to move in that direction in the coming months. Cutting government spending is the sensible way to deal with inflation.

Common Sense

On Saturday, Sundance posted an article at The Conservative Treehouse titled, “I Fully Support Donald Trump Because the Alternative Is to Support a Republican.” That is the truth.

The article notes:

When the Tea Party surfaced in 2010, the grassroots voter base (unvoiced in DC) did not have a figurehead. So, the UniParty apparatus weaponized the DOJ, IRS and regulatory agencies to target, divide and destroy us.

When the Tea Party reassembled in 2016, the grassroots voter base (unvoiced in DC) now had Donald Trump. So, the same UniParty weaponized the DOJ, FBI and Intelligence Community to target, divide and destroy him first (Spygate, Russiagate, Impeachments etc.), until they could get back to targeting us (Arctic Frost).

The difference between the Tea Party targeting in 2010, and MAGA targeting 2016-through today, is the pesky impediment called Donald Trump.

Review the 15-year history and you will see these commonalities, including DC’s use of Main Justice and the FBI.

The McConnell-minded Republicans were happy to see the Tea Party targeted in 2011/2012. The same is true for the targeting of MAGA in later years.

This core reality is why I support President Trump; indeed, I actually cherish his fighting for us, because the alternative is reliance on our Republican abusers.

If we, well, really he, does not get that thing accomplished in the next three years, well, it’s unlikely to happen. That clock ticking raises the stakes for us and makes policy issues sensitive and urgent. This is an entirely understandable sentiment.

The Washington Republicans do not represent average Americans. They represent the Chamber of Commerce, the business elite, big pharma, China, etc. The coalition that President Trump has put together represents the people who have to live under the laws that Congress passes. We are not allowed to partake of insider trading, we don’t have money from questionable sources coming into our Political Action Committees (PAC’s), campaigns or businesses that we are involved in . We can’t sell ridiculous artwork for millions of dollars. It’s time that the people of America ran the country–not a bunch of people who don’t live in the real world and think they should totally control us.

Christians Targeted in Nigeria

While the world has been focused on the Islamist Hamas attack on Israel, an even worse situation has been occurring in the African nation of Nigeria. In this case, Islamists have been attacking and killing Christians (who make up about half of the 227 million people in Nigeria). Not only is this important because of the barbarity and killing, but also because it reflects the reality of the threat that Islamist extremists represent all over the world, including our country. The numbers are staggering, with estimates that over 50,000 Christians have been killed since 2009 and over 7,000 killed this year alone.

According to a U.N. report, this all started with the rise of Boko Haram, a designated Islamist terrorist group, that kidnapped 270 Christian secondary school age girls in 2014 (91 are still missing or in captivity). Since then, other Islamist groups have joined with Boko Haram in attacking Christians and even destroying thousands of churches. Clearly their goal is to rid Nigeria of all Christians and create a unified Islamist state. While the government of Nigeria is opposing this takeover, it is clear they are not succeeding. The government claims they have “neutralized” over 13,000 terrorists and arrested over 17,000. They also claim that they have rescued over 9,000 Christian kidnapping victims. The continued killing not only shows the ineffectiveness of the Nigerian government security forces, but, importantly, reflects the large numbers of Islamists in Nigeria who are part of this terrorist movement. Nigeria is divided into separate “states” as in the U.S. and twelve of those states have declared that they are now committed to following Sharia Law. It should be remembered that Sharia Law permits, and in some cases encourages, the killing of non-Muslims and those who were once Muslims but changed to another religion. Recently, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rep. Riley Moore (R-W. Va.) have spoken out about this tragic situation. President Trump has indicated that he is concerned and that military intervention by the U.S. may be needed. We have not heard much, if anything at all, from the fake media or during the Biden administration.

We should note several things. First, the ineffectiveness, once again, of the United Nations in addressing these terrorist activities. Second, the fact that all of these terrorist activities targeting Christians and Jews are exclusively Islamist must be recognized. We do not hear of any terrorist Christian or Jewish groups attacking and wantonly killing Muslims or members of other faiths. That is no accident. Third, Governor Abbott of Texas has recently declared the Council on American Islamist Relations (CAIR) to be a terrorist group due to their close ties to Hamas. Texas is having an ongoing dispute with a group that wants to establish an Islamist enclave in Collin County. Fourth, Governor DeSantis of Florida recently addressed the issue of what he considers excessive legal immigration and the potential impact on the integrity and traditions of our country. He expressed his concern that our country cannot effectively assimilate the large numbers of immigrants, legal and illegal, that we have admitted over the past several decades.

I strongly agree with Governor DeSantis, as I have expressed clearly in a previous article. America for Americans, and only a limited number of those who want to identify as Americans. We finally have a political leader who has spoken out on this issue. We need to encourage others to do the same. The idea that we can accept millions of people from other countries and still maintain our 250 year old identity is a Leftist lie that will lead to the destruction of our country as we have known it. Look what recently happened in N.Y. City.

One Of The Problems In The First Trump Administration

On Thursday, Real Clear Investigations posted an article titled, “EXCLUSIVE: How Trump’s Own Appointees Aided Russiagate Plot Against Him.” It was fairly evident from the beginning that the Russian collusion charge was made-up to hurt the President, but several members of his staff who suspected the evidence was shoddy failed to inform President Trump. Thank God President Trump has a different staff this time around.

The article reports:

Former Special Counsel John Durham, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former CIA Director Gina Haspel dismissed or buried evidence that cast doubt on a foundational document of the Russigate hoax – the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) prepared in the waning days of the Obama administration.

Durham, who was appointed by Attorney General William Barr, stopped the declassification and release of key exculpatory evidence debunking the ICA on the eve of the 2020 election, which has not been reported previously.

…While these Trump-appointed officials may not have initiated the weaponization of the CIA against Trump, they facilitated it by hiding evidence that exposed the claims that Russia tried to help Trump as a fraud. By obscuring Joe Biden’s own role in perpetrating the hoax, they may have helped Obama’s vice president win the close race for the presidency in 2020.

“The Russiagate betrayal continued in plain sight,” said former Trump national security adviser J.D. Gordon, with some in Trump’s own cabinet letting him twist in the wind instead of daylighting secreted material that would have cleared the clouds of suspicion hanging over his head before the 2020 election.

The suppression can be traced back at least until mid-2018. That’s when Fred Fleitz, who was National Security Adviser John Bolton’s chief of staff, heard that investigators at his former employer, the House Intelligence Committee, were probing the raw intelligence in the ICA supporting the assessment’s key judgments.

…Fleitz thought Bolton should be briefed on the unpublished House report, which undermined the prevailing narrative that Trump and Moscow had colluded during the 2016 election campaign. When he returned to his West Wing office, Fleitz sat down at his classified computer and wrote a synopsis of the review and gave it to his boss.

But Bolton did not, in turn, brief the president. “He didn’t do anything with it. He never told Trump, and I never heard anything about it again,” Fleitz told RCI.

It could also be said that they were working against America–interfering with the smooth transition of power. No corporation would put up with that. It’s a shame that the President could not trust his own staff.

A Problem We Need To Solve Quickly

For a number of years, women athletes have been cheated out of college scholarships and medals by men competing in women’s sports. Generally, these have been men claiming to be women, but in Massachusetts that has taken a new turn.

On Saturday, Townhall reported:

The Oliver Ames volleyball team and Somerset Berkley field hockey both won the title in their respective divisions. They faced teams composed entirely of girls.

This is the second consecutive title for Somerset Berkley, as junior Ryan Crook was on the team last year, too.

The Somerset Berkley coach, Jen Crook, has won four such titles and all while a boy played on her team. In 2018 and 2019, Crook’s other son, Lucas, was on the team. Both Ryan and Lucas also hold the school’s all-time scoring record, denying girls access to yet another accomplishment.

Over at Oliver Ames, the volleyball team had two boys playing, Evan Casey and Sean Raymond. The school was undefeated this year.

The problem in Massachusetts is systemic and goes beyond trans activism. The state allows boys to play on any girls’ team without even identifying as a girl or being on medication to restrict testosterone, provided the school doesn’t offer a boys’ team.

The boys on these teams do not identify as girls. They are simply taking advantage of the state law that allows them to play on these teams.

The article concludes:

It’s bad enough when a “trans-identifying” boy usurps a spot on a team and records from girls. It’s even worse when officials let boys onto girls’ teams by abusing Title IX.

If there is not a boys’ team at their school, maybe they should make the effort to start one.

Twisted Logic

On Saturday, The Western Journal posted an article about a journalist who was offended by the fact that a performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., opened with the playing of the Star Spangled Banner.

The article reports:

Jamie Stiehm, who has contributed to several corporate media outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, wrote for The Capital Times on Thursday that though the “Star-Spangled Banner” might be appropriate for “ballparks and stadiums,” it is “dissonant” to play before a classical music concert in today’s political climate.

Stiehm said that classical music transcends international boundaries, but the national anthem pulls the arts back into the orbit of President Donald Trump’s influence.

Television stations used to sign on and off the air with the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner. The song has nothing to do with President Trump other than at this time he is the President of America. Is that what is actually bothering her?

The article notes:

After attending a symphony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the columnist opined about the National Symphony now reportedly playing the national anthem ahead of performances, under Trump’s leadership.

“Readers, President Donald Trump’s new regime at the beloved center decreed the National Symphony Orchestra must stand and play the national anthem before every concert. How dissonant,” Stiehm wrote.

The article concludes:

“Seeking spiritual solace, I washed ashore at the John F. Kennedy Center’s concert hall,” the columnist wrote.

“Yes, I loved the crashing chords of the ‘Organ Symphony’ by Saint-Saens and the lyrical light notes of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1.

“‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ not so much.”

Stiehm then concluded the piece by paraphrasing someone else who attended.

“These times reminded her of her German girlhood,” Stiehm said, adding that this person was a young girl during World War II.

The columnist told the DCNF that the article clearly articulates her stance on the national anthem being played before classical music concerts.

I am sorry that being patriotic is so offensive to some Americans. That is sad.
