Some Mistakes Are Irreversible

On Thursday, John Hinderaker posted an article at Power Line Blog wondering if anyone would ever be held accountable for the damage done by the transgender movement.

The article reports:

The “trans” fad has devastated the lives of many people, especially children. Will there ever be an accounting? In the U.K., there are signs of one: the National Health Service’s Tavistock gender identity clinic for children is being shut down.

The NHS is shutting down its gender identity clinic for children after a review found that it failed vulnerable under-18s.
***
It will be replaced by regional centres at existing children’s hospitals offering more “holistic care” with “strong links to mental health services”.

Tavistock’s Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) clinic has been accused of rushing children into life-altering treatment on puberty blockers.

The paediatrician Dr Hilary Cass, who is leading a review of the service, issued a series of recommendations today for a radical overhaul of how the NHS treats young people who are questioning their gender identity.

She found that the Tavistock clinic was “not a safe or viable long-term option” and that other mental health issues were “overshadowed” when gender was raised by children referred to the clinic.

Basically, Tavistock was run according to a “trans” activist ideology, and therefore destroyed many lives.

Much of the treatment given to adolescents to help them transition to another sex is irreversible. There are also some serious side effects that can occur as a result of the treatment.

The article quotes an article at Liberty Unyielding:

Researchers have also found that puberty blockers stunted the height and impaired the bone mass density of children who wished to change gender. There is also evidence that puberty blockers have an adverse impact on cognitive functioning in children, with two studies finding that IQ may drop as a result of the medication. But perhaps most alarming, when a child takes puberty blockers at Tanner stage 2 (the first signs of puberty) and proceeds to cross-sex hormones, they will be sterilized (never able to have children) and never be able to achieve an orgasm.

Teenagers are not yet able to make wise decisions on many things–sex change included. The article at Liberty Unyielding includes examples of teenagers who regret being led down the path to sex-change medication and surgery through peer pressure and social media, but are limited in their options to undo the damage that has been done to their bodies.

The article at Power Line Blog concludes:

How has this horror show come to be? I confess to puzzlement. Generally the Left is not hard to figure out. Leftists want power and money, and if you examine their policies with this in mind, they pretty much always make sense. But today’s gender hysteria is hard to understand within that framework. Unless the “trans” fad is essentially nihilistic: maybe the point is to discredit thousands of years’ worth of civilization, to alienate millions from the most basic elements of our culture, and to create a large army of dysfunctional, mentally, physically and emotionally crippled people, so that self-reliance becomes a thing of the past and government control is seen as the only alternative.

It’s Just Different!

There were some comments made this week by the Mayor of Washington, D.C., about the influx of illegal immigrants arriving in her city from Texas. The Democrat party has pretty much condemned the actions of Texas Governor Abbott in busing illegal immigrants to Washington (although many of us believe that is the perfect solution). On July 28, I reported on recent statements by New York City Mayor Eric Adams and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser complaining about the influx of illegal immigrants to their cities. This is a problem our border states have been dealing with for the past eighteen months. In that article I mentioned the late-night flights our government is providing to move illegal immigrants from the border to a suburban airport north of New York City.

On Saturday, The American Thinker posted an article describing how White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre replied when asked what the difference was between the government’s late-night flights and Governor Abbott’s busing the illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C.

The article reports:

REPORTER: “What’s the difference between Texas busing migrants to DC, and the federal government flying migrants to, say New York, in the middle of the night?”

KJP: “It’s very different, because we’re not using migrants as a political pawn.”

…So, when they do it, it’s an altruistic action intended to share with Americans the good fortune to have their communities flooded with illiterate, unskilled people, many of whom are cartel members, and all of whom are here illegally, speak no English, and come for the welfare seeded into American communities. But when Texas, with a completely broken, dangerous border, shares this bounty of humanity with D.C., those same people become political pawns. Many were quick to spot the hypocrisy (hat tip: Twitchy)…

The article concludes:

That she (Karine Jean-Pierre) is the communication face of the Biden administration is open to several interpretations. First, we are being governed by half-wits, which is bad. Second, we are governed by people who believe the American people are half-wits, which is worse.

And then there’s the third, and worst, possible conclusion: We are governed by people who couldn’t care less about what Americans think. This means that, looking ahead to the elections, the Biden administration is confident that it’s got the systems locked up so tightly that, even if the American people push back a bit in November, come the 2024 election, we’ll see a solid repeat of what happened in 2020—namely, an election that Republicans cannot possibly win, whether in the White House or in Congress.

Telling It Like It Is

I enjoy watching Tucker Carlson. He is generally very direct and very informative. Thursday night was no exception.

The Daily Caller posted part of Tucker Carlson’s Thursday monologue:

“That sound that you’re hearing is the goalpost moving,” Carlson said as he recapped efforts by reporters, media outlets and Biden administration officials to redefine recession. Back-to-back quarters of negative GDP growth is one rule of thumb used to determine if a recession is taking place, according to Investopedia.

“This is from Politico,” Carlson said, “‘The White House is pretty obviously right that even two quarters of shrinking GDP would not show the economy is currently in a recession.’ That’s the word from Ben White, who is the chief economics reporter at Politico. He is backed up by The Associated Press, which is totally real. Just today the AP reported that ‘the U.S. economy shrank for a second straight quarter, raising fears the nation may be approaching a recession.’ We’re getting close now!”

“In other words, two declining quarters of growth is not a recession, just like the White House said,” Carlson continued. “That sounds definitive. It’s always been that way. As long as you don’t have a memory that extends past, say, last week, because just a few weeks ago, before the White House declared otherwise, everyone was saying differently, including Ben White and the AP.”

GDP shrank by 0.9% in the second quarter, according to data released Thursday from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, after the economy contracted by 1.4% in the first quarter. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the data a “transition” in a clip played by Carlson.

“This is the transition to green energy and renewables,” Carlson said. “Joe Biden announced it today. It’s a transition to handing China our energy grid. Oh, that’s a ‘transition.’ Some might call it the collapse of empire and a subsequent disaster where we are ruled by people who hate us. No, it’s a transition in which China gets to make and control the wind turbines, the lithium, the solar panels.”

And that, folks, is where we are.

Is This A Problem? Will The Mainstream Media Report It?

On Thursday, Breitbart posted an article about President Biden’s claim that he was never involved in Hunter Biden’s business dealings.

The article reports:

Though Joe Biden and his staff have claimed at least seven times that the president has not been involved in the family business, 17 pieces of evidence suggest Joe Biden has played an influential role in his son Hunter and brother James’s activities. Fifty-eight percent of voters believe that Joe Biden has played a role in his family’s business. Sixty percent say Hunter Biden has sold “influence and access” to the president.

The article goes on to list seventeen examples of President Biden being involved in Hunter Biden’s business dealings. Here are just a few of them:

One:

In 2012, Vice President Joe Biden met with Eric Schwerin, the former president of the investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners — which Hunter Biden co-founded — and former Colombian President Andrés Pastrana Arango at the Naval Observatory, the vice president’s residence, on March 2, 2012, the New York Post reported.

Two:

In 2013, Hunter flew to China with Vice President Joe Biden aboard Air Force Two. During the excursion, Hunter introduced the vice president to his business partner Jonathan Li, the CEO of a company linked to Chinese oil interests to which the Biden administration reportedly sold 950,000 barrels of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve in 2022.

China issued Hunter’s firm a business license ten days after the visit. The firm also won a $1 billion investment from a state-owned financial institution, the New York Post reported:

Ten days later, Hunter’s company inked a deal with the state-owned Bank of China and created the $1 billion investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), according to reporting by Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and the best-selling author of “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends.”

A representative for BHR told The New Yorker in July 2019 that Hunter Biden introduced his father to Chinese private equity executive Jonathan Li during the trip. Li later became the CEO of BHR.

Three:

Photos from 2014 reveal that Joe Biden met with Hunter’s Mexican business associates, billionaire Miguel Alemán Velasco and his son Miguel Aleman Magnani, in the vice president’s office.

“The then-vice president also flew Hunter and his partner Jeff Cooper on Air Force 2 to Mexico City in 2016 where Hunter arranged to meet Alemán’s son for meetings over a ‘flippin gigantic’ business deal,” the Daily Mail reported.

Four:

In 2014, a photo shows Joe Biden golfing with Hunter and Devon Archer, Hunter’s fellow board member at the Ukrainian gas company Burisma. Archer is now in prison for fraud.

“The photograph includes a fourth man who has not been identified. However, he is not Burisma’s top executive Taras Burdeinyi or founder Mykola Zlochevsky. Photographs of both men can be seen here and here,” Reuters reported.

You get the picture. For the rest of the list, please follow the link above to read the entire article. The facts are out there. The question is whether or not Americans care about the corruption in the Biden family and whether or not the mainstream media will report it. Americans can’t be expected to respond to information they don’t have.

A Forewarning Of What Could Happen Here?

In March 2022, Townhall posted an article about a warning from President Trump given to Germany at the United Nations.

The article reported:

During a speech to the United Nations in 2018, President Donald Trump warned Germany against becoming dependent on Russian oil and gas. They laughed it off.

“Reliance on a single foreign supplier can leave a nation vulnerable to extortion and intimidation. That is why we congratulate European states, such as Poland, for leading the construction of a Baltic pipeline so that nations are not dependent on Russia to meet their energy needs. Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course,” Trump said. “Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of expansionist foreign powers.”

They are not laughing now.

On Thursday, The Conservative Treehouse reported:

Hanover, a city in the northwest of Germany, has become the first major metropolitan area to try and reduce the use of natural gas by removing hot water from public buildings. The move comes as natural gas supplies from Russia are reduced to 20% of capacity. Germany is attempting to fill up storage facilities of natural gas in order to survive the winter.

Germany, together with several European countries, are telling their citizens to expect large increases in their electricity bills as energy costs continue to skyrocket.

Germany does not have any LNG terminals to receive shipments of natural gas into ports, they are dependent on pipelines from Russia. They are urgently trying to reduce the current amount of natural gas being consumed.

Unfortunately America is no longer energy independent and is not in a position to help them. This is the consequence of putting someone in the White House that is so focused on his left-wing agenda he is blind to the suffering he is causing around the world. The Biden administration is not simply a blight upon America, it is a blight upon the world.

Are You Going To Believe What He Says Or What You See?

On Thursday, The Daily Caller reported the following:

President Joe Biden insists the U.S. is on the “right path” as the GDP report released Thursday shows two consecutive quarters of falling GDP which, by some definitions, indicates the economy is headed toward a recession.

The U.S. real GDP decreased at an annual rate of 0.9% in the second quarter of 2022, data released Thursday from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) shows. Biden said Thursday that the report is not surprising and the U.S. is in a transition period.

What we have seen in the past eighteen months or so is what happens when you reverse the policies of a successful businessman and replace them with policies dreamed up by a bunch of academics with questionable qualifications for the positions they hold. The policies that were responsible for the growth we saw under President Trump were almost immediately reversed by President Biden when he took office. In his first three days in office, President Biden signed 30 executive orders, seventeen on his first day. In April, 2017, CBS New reported the following, “Since he took office on Jan. 20, President Trump has signed a total of 77 executive actions — including 25 presidential memoranda, 24 presidential proclamations, and 29 executive orders, which are published in the federal register.”

The article concludes:

The Biden administration has consistently pushed back on claims the economy is in, or heading toward, a recession, publishing a recent blog post that argues that two consecutive quarters of falling GDP is not indicative of a recession. The National Bureau of Economic Research uses several factors to determine whether the U.S. is in a recession. Economist Julius Shiskin wrote in 1974 that two consecutive quarters of declining GDP is a good rule of thumb to define a recession. The definition has become somewhat of a standard, though other factors should be considered.

E.J. Antoni, research fellow for regional economics at The Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that technical definitions matter naught if Americans can feel it in their pockets.

“At the end of the day the average American family has been going through economic pain for the last 18 months; paychecks are going out the door faster than they’re coming in because of inflation, credit card debt is getting more expensive to service, regular folks can’t afford a home, gas and grocery prices are going up. In my opinion, if you go out and talk to regular Americans it is so blatantly obvious the economy is contracting.”

Americans are feeling the changes that have occurred in Washington. This is not the government our Founding Fathers envisioned. The federal government was supposed to be weak and the states were supposed to be strong. We are upside-down right now in our power structure. Right now we are have an elite class of politicians who are ignoring the interests of the Americans who elected them. That needs to change.

Lessons Learned In Life That Apply In Politics

On Tuesday, The American Thinker posted an article describing what you can learn about an employee by the way he spends his last few days before leaving your employ.

The article notes:

If you work in the business world long enough, you will notice that an employee reveals the most about his own personal work ethic, not when he starts out, not when he’s angling for a bonus or promotion, but at the end, when he gets a new job and gives his two weeks’ notice, or when he starts training his successor as he reaches retirement.

How hard does he work those final weeks? Does he still put the company first, or does he just phone it in? Or does he stuff his briefcase with office supplies, raid the petty cash drawer, and pilfer the prototype cabinet every evening before he goes home?

If he really gives it all he’s got, right up to the last day, then there’s a role model to remember with love.

The same goes for political leadership when it has had its walking papers served on Election Day, or even when that eventuality becomes evident, months in advance.

The polls now are in agreement: barring some earth-shaking shock this autumn, the Democrat party will be out of leadership in the United States House of Representatives and in some state legislatures as well, following the November elections.

Despite what I just quoted, my advice to Republicans is not to count their chickens just yet. There are three plus months for Democrats to pull every dirty trick they can to make sure they hang on to power. Expect anything.

However, the article makes some very good points about the actions of the past Democrat political leadership versus some recent Republican leadership:

As author Barbara Olson revealed in her shocking book, “The Final Days,” much of the Clinton team was so certain they would be carried forward in a Gore administration, many engaged in petty (and some not so petty) acts of sabotage across the executive branch, especially at the White House, between Election Day 2000 and Inauguration Day 2001. That crew spent their final months doing damage.

By contrast, think back on the end of Donald Trump’s first term, as the clock ticked off the final months in 2020-2021.

President Trump’s medical response team had been working on fast-tracking the development and approval of vaccines and treatment arrays for Covid-19 throughout 2020; they didn’t let up, they accelerated their work, right up to the final day, turning over a complete, impressive vaccine and treatment program to the incoming Biden regime.

The article concludes with the actions of the current Congressional leadership:

The Pelosi/Schumer team sees the end of their own gravy train approaching, and they’re gathering every last handful of perks, doling out every last favor to their friends, distributing the largesse that you and I fund to the non-profits and NGOs from whom they will likely seek lucrative jobs the very morning after the voters toss them out on their ungrateful ears in November.

And worst of all, even though this future is all but written in stone, we have to watch it unfold, predictably but unalterably, for another six long, painful months.

There are good reasons why, in the private sector, once you realize you have employees like this in your organization, you have them pack up their desks, and you direct Security to march them out immediately, without postponing the inevitable another day.

Hang on to your hats–unfortunately it’s not over yet.

Ironic?

As Californians flee the inept (and expensive) government of their state, their destinations vary, but there is one very interesting destination.

On Wednesday, Hot Air posted an article with the following headline, “Californians are moving to Mexico City and not everyone is thrilled about it.” Where is the headline, “Illegal immigrants are moving to New York City and not everyone is thrilled about it?” At least the Californians moving to Mexico are immigrating legally–you can’t immigrate to Mexico illegally!

The article quotes the LA Times (this is the link, but it is behind the pay wall):

The influx, which has accelerated since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and is likely to continue as inflation rises, is transforming some of the city’s most treasured neighborhoods into
expat enclaves.

In leafy, walkable quarters such as Roma, Condesa, Centro and Juarez, rents are soaring as Americans and other foreigners snap up houses and landlords trade long-term renters for travelers willing to pay more on Airbnb. Taquerias, corner stores and fondas — small, family-run lunch spots — are being replaced by Pilates studios, co-working spaces and sleek cafes advertising oat-milk
lattes and avocado toast.

And English — well, it’s everywhere: ringing out at supermarkets, natural wine bars and fitness classes in the park.

The article at the American Thinker continues:

A 38-year-old university professor labeled the trend “modern colonialism.”

“Mexico is classist and racist,” Bustos said. “People with white skin are given preference. Now, if a local wants to go to a restaurant or a club, they don’t just have to compete with rich, white Mexicans but with foreigners too.”

Anyway, the story says that most locals are extremely polite to the Americans who are moving in to their luxury apartments. But I guess it’s not just people in Boise, ID and Austin, TX who get fed up with Californians showing up with a lot of cash and no respect for the local customs. Unfortunately for Mexico City, the exodus from California isn’t likely to stop anytime soon.

There is a certain amount of irony in this story. How often do you hear Spanish spoken in major cities in America? Now the residents of Mexico City are complaining because they hear English. Irony at its best.

Changing The Language To Fit The Situation

In discussing the book 1984, a website called bookanalysis.com posts the following definition of Newspeak:

The purpose of the language is to reduce “unnecessary” words and those that might lead the citizens of Oceania into thought patterns the Party wants to avoid. They believe if they can rid the English language of troubling words, then there will be no way that anyone can conceive of the concepts without them.

It is a language that is still under construction as the novel’s plot is playing out. There are various iterations of the Newspeak dictionary, and one of Winston Smith’s associates, Syme, is working on the text. The language reduces words to syllables and combines them together to create new, unusual words.

On Tuesday, Just the News posted an article titled, “6 terms Biden has redefined to further agenda, stigmatize opponents.”

Here is the list of the six terms:

1. Recession

2. Disinformation

3. Domestic terrorist

4. Insurrectionist

5. Voter suppression

6. Illegal alien

The redefining of all these terms has to do with keeping the Democrats in power. The chances of a Democrat victory in the mid-terms will be negatively impacted if America is declared in a recession so the administration will simply change the definition of recession. Disinformation has come to mean anything the Biden administration does not like or anything that paints the administration in a bad light. The Facebook fact-checkers have this concept down pat. A domestic terrorists is anyone who questions the far left agenda the Biden administration is attempting to impose on Americans–anything from school curriculum to men in women’s sports. An insurrectionist is anyone who questions the legitimacy of the 2020 election. Voter suppression is anything that will insure a more secure and honest election. Illegal aliens are now called undocumented citizens or simply non-citizens.

The Biden administration’s ‘Newspeak’ has been somewhat successful in limiting some of the complaints about election fraud in 2020. Many politicians are afraid to bring up the subject out of fear of being labeled insurrectionists. It has also become obvious that the Biden administration is not above sending the law after any citizen that consistently opposes their agenda. The FBI has used excessive force on Americans accused of minor crimes on numerous occasions. In some states the banning of drop boxes is being called voter suppression even as it becomes evident that drop boxes are easily used by those who want to engage in ballot harvesting, an illegal activity in many states. And finally, as we watch our totally open southern border, the term illegal alien has somehow disappeared from any document or speech connected to the Biden administration.

If the trend of redefining words for political purposes continues in the Biden administration, we will one day in the very near future wake up and wonder what has happened to our country.

When Reality Shows Up

One America News posted an article on Tuesday about what appears to be a change of attitude on the part of New York City Mayor Eric Adams. It seems that New York City is being overwhelmed by the surge of illegal immigrants looking to make a home in the city.

The article reports:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams sounded the alarm on the surge of illegal aliens coming to the Big Apple. During a press conference Sunday, Adams warned the city about the massive influx.

One of his campaign priorities was standing up for “undocumented New Yorkers” by making sure NYC remained a “sanctuary city.” He doubled down on that promise by informing residents that right now “this is an all hands on deck” moment.

Adams went on to say residents must all be on board after asking the administration for help last week while calling the migrants a “real burden on New Yorkers.” Border towns are familiar with NYC’s plight as more than 3 million migrants have surged into the country since Joe Biden took office.

Adams pleaded with the White House to provide aid to help accommodate the more than 2,800 people who recently entered the city’s shelter system. The Mayor was quick to blame migrants sent by Texas and Arizona, but also acknowledged federal migrant flights have contributed to the total sum. Adams listed a number of services for migrants he would like to be financed by federal tax dollars.

The problems New York City is encountering have been an everyday challenge for cities along America’s southern border since the Biden administration took office. These problems have been ignored by Democrat leaders in other parts of the country. Now that the illegal aliens are moving north, some Democrat leaders are beginning to notice the problem.

On July 17th, Fox News reported:

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday to discuss the persistent homelessness problem plaguing her city.

Host Margaret Brennan brought up a Washington Post report that suggested homeless shelters are now being filled with illegal immigrants being bused in from Texas and Arizona.

Bowser admitted that it’s a “significant issue” and called on the federal government to get more involved as she fears illegal immigrants are being “tricked” into traveling to her city.

On April 6th, I quoted a report from The New York Post:

The White House has quietly resumed its after-dark charter flights of underage migrants to a suburban airport north of New York City — after a Post expose led to their suspension last year.

The Post watched as a group of migrant teens got off an Avelo Airlines plane that arrived at the Westchester County Airport near White Plains at 9:25 p.m. Thursday. The group then boarded three waiting buses that drove off about 50 minutes later.

The Democrats are all for illegal immigration until it comes to their city.

Our Government Did Something Right!

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review posted an article about China’s offer to build a $100 million dollar garden in Washington, D.C. What could possibly go wrong?

Below is a generic picture of a pagoda (a pagoda is planned to be the center of the garden):

Can you imagine how much surveillance equipment could be crammed into this space?

The article reports:

The Chinese government offered to spend $100 million on building an “ornate Chinese garden” at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C., and the project “thrilled local officials,” according to a CNN report.

While anyone with an ounce of common sense could have guessed that there was something sketchy about China’s generous offer, it apparently took a deep dive by U.S. counterintelligence officials to raise “numerous red flags.”

The FBI “quietly killed the project” after realizing that the park’s pagoda would have been strategically placed in the perfect spot for gathering sensitive military and government intelligence. There was also a little problem with the fact that Chinese officials planned to ship project materials in “diplomatic pouches,” meaning U.S. Customs officials could not check what was inside.

Considering the ties between the Biden administration and most of Congress to China, it is amazing that the project did not go forward. However, keep your eyes open–this may not be the last of this type of proposal by the Chinese.

How The Truth Was Kept From Voters

On Tuesday, The Patriot Daily Wire posted an article explaining how the FBI managed to keep the investigation of Hunter Biden’s laptop from proceeding. The article includes some of the details about the obstacles currently preventing a thorough investigation of the contents of that laptop.

The article reports:

Several FBI whistleblowers say that the agency’s probe into Hunter Biden was internally sabotaged during the 2020 election in order to derail the investigation, after agents wrongfully deemed verified evidence as “disinformation” to ignore.

According to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), agents investigating Hunter “opened an assessment which was used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease,” adding that his office received “a significant number of protected communications from highly credible whistleblowers” regarding the investigation.

Grassley added that “verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation,” according to the Washington Examiner.

…The whistleblowers say investigators from FBI headquarters were “in communication with FBI agents responsible for the Hunter Biden information targeted by Mr. Auten’s assessment,” and that their findings on whether the claims were in fact disinformation were placed “in a restricted access sub-file” in September 2020, according to Grassley, who added that the disclosures “appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.

Grassley summarized the new allegations in a Monday letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The Examiner notes that FBI agent Auten was involved in the Trump-Russia investigation, including interviewing Christopher Steele’s primary source, Igor Danchenko.

According to Grassley, the “volume and consistency” of the allegations regarding the handling of the Hunter Biden probe “substantiate their credibility.”

The article includes a copy of the letter mentioned above. Please follow the link to read the entire article. We still don’t (and probably never will) know the extent of the backroom deals that Hunter Biden has been (and possibly still is) involved in. Even if the case is allowed to proceed, it is doubtful that he will be seriously punished. We truly have a two-tiered justice system in America right now. If they continues, the country will not survive.

Another Reason To Secure Our Southern Border

On Sunday, Breitbart reported that many previously convicted criminals are entering America through our porous southern border.

The article reports:

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol officials sounded the alarm after reporting the apprehension of more than 1,600 previously convicted criminal migrants who illegally entered the U.S. during the current fiscal year. The news comes after the arrest on back-to-back days of deported sex offenders.

“Thanks to agents in the Del Rio Sector, these two criminals won’t be on our streets,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted. “This is why we need our agents on patrol. This is our mission.”

The article concludes:

Del Rio Sector officials report that since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2022 (October 1, 2021), agents arrested more than 1,651 criminal aliens who illegally re-entered the United States.

Migrants who re-enter the U.S. illegally after removal can be charged with a federal felony that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

The historically quiet Del Rio Sector jumped into first place as the busiest of the nine southwest Border Patrol sectors in June, Breitbart Texas reported. Del Rio agents 45,225 migrants in June — an increase of more than 47 percent over one year ago. More than three-quarters of those apprehended in June were single adults — up nearly 68 percent over last year.

We have criminals, drugs, cartel members, and other non-desirable people and elements coming across our southern border. It is past time to finish the wall and secure our country.

Who Is Teaching Our Children

On July 20th, Fox News posted an article with the following headline, “At least 181 K-12 educators charged with child sex crimes in first half of 2022.”

The article reports:

At least 181 K-12 educators, including four principals, were arrested on child sex-related crimes in the U.S. in the first six months of 2022, ranging from child pornography to raping students.

An analysis conducted by Fox News Digital looked at local news stories week by week featuring arrests of principals, teachers, substitute teachers and teachers’ aides on child sex-related crimes in school districts across the country. Arrests that weren’t publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher.

The analysis found that at least 181 have been arrested between January 1 and June 30, which works out to exactly an arrest a day on average.

The article notes:

The Education Department’s report, however, found that laws against the practice are varied across the states, and that while all states require prospective employers to conduct criminal background checks on educators, and most states – 46 – require fingerprinting, only 19 states require employers to request information from an applicants’ current and former employers.

Moreover, only 14 states require employers to check an applicant’s eligibility for employment or certification, and 11 require applicants to disclose information regarding investigations or disciplinary actions related to sexual abuse or misconduct.

Most churches now require CORI (Criminal Offender Records Information) reports for anyone who works with children in the church. Shouldn’t our schools be as pro-active about protecting their students?

The article concludes:

Christopher Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, called for a new national study on child sex abuse in schools.

“This is a scandal that the political Left is doing everything in its power to suppress,” he said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “The basic fact is incontrovertible: every day, a public school teacher is arrested, indicted, or convicted for child sex abuse. And yet, the teachers unions, the public school bureaucracies, and the left-wing media pretend that the abuse isn’t happening and viciously attack families who raise concerns.”

“It’s time to take this problem seriously,” he said. “I call on Congress to appropriate $25 million for a national study of child sex abuse in public schools, so victims can finally get justice and parents can have greater confidence that schools will be safe for their children.”

The Department of Education last released a report on the topic in 2004, which claimed that nearly 9.6% of students are targets of educator sexual misconduct sometime during their school career.

Maybe it’s time to investigate teachers as well as some of the curriculum.

Her Little Black Book Must Be In A Really Secure Place

It has always been an ‘old wives tale’ that some shady characters kept records on the people that they engaged in shady activities with and had a ‘trigger switch’ on those records. If anything happened to them, the records would be released. I am beginning to wonder if that is the case with Ghislaine Maxwell. When you consider the list of names that we are aware of that flew on the Lolita Express, there are many people in high places who want to keep the contents of Ms. Maxwell’s little black book secret. That might explain what I am about to report.

On Monday, The Western Journal reported that Ghislaine Maxwell’s living conditions may be a little different than what was first reported.

The article reports:

Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her complicity in the sex trafficking crimes of Jeffrey Epstein, was originally set to serve out her sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut.

The facility is reportedly known for its poor living conditions, which include maggot-infested food and shared 8-by-8 foot cells.

According to the New York Post, Maxwell will instead be moved to a “low-security federal correctional institution” in Florida.

Maxwell will have access to various “recreation, leisure and social programs” designed to “help develop an individual wellness concept.”

Also included are various “programs of occupational training, with apprenticeships and courses in horticulture and even cosmetology.”

“Programs include indoor and outdoor activities, and range from individualized arts and crafts programs to intramural team sports such as softball, basketball and volleyball,” the prison’s handbook notes, according to the Post.

The article continues:

The Post noted that the transfer is “surprising” due to the fact that Maxwell’s sentencing judge, Alison Nathan, advised she be sent to FCI Danbury.

Nevertheless, on Friday, the Bureau of Prisons noted that Maxwell had been transferred.

One representative told the Post that the reason for Maxwell’s change in facilities would not be disclosed.

“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss any individual inmate’s condition of confinement to include designation decisions or reasons for transfer,” the representative said.

I sure would be interesting to see the list of clients and compare it with whoever was involved in making the decision to move Ms. Maxwell to Florida. Frankly I don’t wish anyone an 8×8 cell and bad food, but there are a lot of young ladies whose lives were ruined because of Ms. Maxwell’s actions. This decision seems very unfair. I also think this decisions insures that we will never see the list of clients.

In Case You Wondered Why The January 6th Hearings Are Continuing

On Sunday, The Western Journal posted an article that explains a lot of what the Democrat party is currently doing. The article is based on a report posted by Axios on Friday. The report states that if he is re-elected as President, President Trump plans to drain the swamp.

The article reports:

He (President Trump) issued an executive order in October 2020 that created a whole new class of federal employees, workers who were already on the federal payroll but would lose their civil service job protections, according to Axios.

Trump intended to use the new classification, called “Schedule F,” to take a meat cleaver to the deep state and get rid of tens of thousands of biased, and often useless, employees from nearly every part of the federal state.

…However, Axios noted Saturday, “Most Americans have never heard of Schedule F, let alone absorbed its vast implications.”

One reason for that is that President Joe Biden rescinded Trump’s Schedule F executive order three days after Biden was sworn in.

The article concludes:

Finally, this isn’t just some shadowy, behind-the-scenes, secret plan, either. Trump is already out in the open about “firing the swamp,” Breitbart News reported.

For his appearance at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit this weekend, according to Breitbart, Trump’s prepared remarks included the lines:

“To drain the swamp, we need to fire the swamp. With schedule F, I took executive action to make it possible to fire federal employees who are bypassing our democracy to advance wokeism and corruption.

“We now need Congress to institute historic reforms to permanently empower the president to root out the deep state, and ensure that any bureaucrat who is corrupt, incompetent, or unnecessary can be told, ‘You’re fired.’”

Those could be magic words to millions of conservatives cheering the plan on as the country heads into the 2022 midterm elections, which will presumably strengthen the Republican Party and help set up the groundwork for Trump’s second run at the presidency.

Making these ideas public will endear President Trump to those Americans who are tired of the bloated government and unequal justice we have seen in recent years. Unfortunately, these ideas will also make him a bigger target for the political left. I can’t imagine the mid-terms being an honest election, and I really can’t imagine the Democrats not doing everything legal or illegal to prevent President Trump from being President again.

Children’s Movies Do Better When They Actually Entertain

It is not news to anyone that the movie industry has been attempting to indoctrinate our children for years. Disney has gone from spotlighting prince charming to having a same-sex kiss in a Buzz Lightyear movie. As a result of that kiss, many nations blocked the film from being shown in their country. At least someone is not bombarding children with images they are too young to understand. So how did Buzz Lightyear do at the box office?

On Monday, Da Tech Guy posted some interesting numbers:

Excuses have been made for the difference–timing, covid, etc.–but Minions was released only two weeks after Buzz Lightyear. Minions faced the same challenges.

The article notes:

The general rule of thumb is a movie has to earn double its production budget in order to break even. By that metric, Lightyear needs $400 million globally to recoup its costs. Going by Pixar’s history, it should be able to cross that figure without many issues. Prior to Onward’s pandemic-shortened theatrical run, Pixar’s Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 both hit $1 billion. The studio’s original film Coco grossed $807 million globally. While Pixar does have some notable duds on their résumé (Cars 3 and The Good Dinosaur), it’s extremely rare for one of their films to perform poorly at the box office. Given Lightyear’s ties to the Toy Story franchise, it should prove to be a hit. Box office projections point to a modest (by Pixar standards) $70-85 million debut, but it could always surpass those expectations a la Top Gun: Maverick. It’s facing minimal competition for its target demographic.

Much of Hollywood has always had questionable morals, but they generally kept the more out-of-the-mainstream-lifestyle scandals quiet. I guess those days are over.

The Other Side Of The Story

Anyone who has bothered to watch the committee hearings in the House of Representatives designed to prevent President Trump from running for office again might have noticed that only one side of the story regarding January 6th is being told. There is no mention of the January 6th prisoners who have been denied their constitutional rights. There is no mention of the role FBI undercover agents played in stirring up the crowd. There is no mention of the circumstances surrounding the murder of Ashley Babbitt. There is no mention of the fact that no one seems to know who was actually responsible for security at the Capitol that day. There is no mention of the arrest of people who did not enter the Capitol building; and finally, there is no mention of the extreme intimidation tactics being used against anyone who was anywhere near the Capitol that day.

On Sunday, BizPacReview posted an article that paints a very different picture than the one being painted by the committee.

The article reports:

Despite the hyper-partisan efforts of the Jan. 6 committee hearings and their predetermined objective of recommending criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, evidence has continued to mount on the side of reality leading Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume to drop the hammer on Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL).

Following Thursday’s primetime edition of the Jan. 6 show trial, investigative journalist and founder of Just the News, John Solomon, called out the committee for deliberately ignoring concrete evidence that destroys their narrative while referencing a specific Pentagon memo. Hume shared that post and included a scathing indictment of his own on the Republican committee members said to be participating in the name of being fair.

“This is the sort of information, while not excusing Trump, that the 1/6 committee’s Republicans would have insisted be part of the hearings, if they were trying to be fair,” he captioned the article before slamming Cheney and Kinzinger, “They are not.”

This is the information you are not being told:

As Solomon laid out, “the most compelling piece of evidence that Trump wanted to thwart — rather than incite — violence is contained in a lengthy memo written by the Pentagon inspector general that chronicled the assistance the Defense Department offered Congress both ahead of and during the riot.”

“In it, the IG recounts a fateful meeting on Jan. 3, 2021 in the White House when then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, met with Trump on national security matters,” he explained after referencing the president’s initial offer for National Guard troops on Jan. 2, 2021. “The complete passage — hardly mentioned by Democrats at the hearings of the news media covering them — is worth absorbing in its entirety.”

“‘Mr. Miller and GEN Milley met with the President at the White House at 5:30 p.m.,’ the IG reported. ‘The primary topic they discussed was unrelated to the scheduled rally. GEN Milley told us that at the end of the meeting, the President told Mr. Miller that there would be a large number of protestors on January 6, 2021, and Mr. Miller should ensure sufficient National Guard or Soldiers would be there to make sure it was a safe event. Gen. Milley told us that Mr. Miller responded, “We’ve got a plan and we’ve got it covered.”‘”

I don’t like to sound paranoid, but I firmly believe that the deep state did have a plan and that they did have it covered.

Adding Humor To A Serious Announcement

On Sunday, Hot Air reported that Attorney Jonathan Turley announced on Twitter that he has tested positive for Covid.

This is the Tweet:

Makes sense to me.

The article notes:

Does anyone really think that Merrick Garland’s DOJ will indict Hunter Biden? The workings of grand juries are supposed to be secret but it is reported that the grand jury looked at the possibility of criminal charges for alleged influence-peddling with foreign contacts in China, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. Hunter was very successful in cashing in on his father’s position in the government. We don’t know if the grand jury decided on any indictments. Turley points out that there is clear evidence of some crimes. “For example, Biden seems clearly to have lied on the federal form to acquire a gun by denying his drug use; he also appears to have violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act. And there are obvious tax charges that could be brought, even though he paid outstanding taxes after the investigation began.”

Perhaps he’ll be indicted over tax evasion or for lying on a federal form about that gun. Just don’t count on him being held accountable for his slimy dealings with foreign countries – unless the indictments are postponed.

The article concludes:

Turley points out that since Joe Biden isn’t on a ballot in November and Hunter isn’t a candidate, just using the excuse of not wanting to interfere in the November midterms – and potentially dragging down Democrat candidates- is politicizing the grand jury investigation. Turley makes the case for a special counsel in the Hunter Biden case. Joe Biden (a.k.a. The Big Guy) is directly referenced in Hunter’s documents found on his laptop. The U.S. Attorney is unlikely to include any of that in a report. If Hunter pleads guilty of lesser charges to make a plea deal, he’ll be protected from future congressional hearings – such as are expected when Republicans take back majority control of the House. DOJ could cut a deal with Hunter and decline further charges. On the other hand, the U.S. Attorney could present evidence to a new grand jury, since this one has now expired, but it would take months to do and the midterm elections would be over.

It does not look as though Weiss called any witnesses who could testify about influence-peddling, including the president. Joe Biden would have to be called as a witness to answer any questions about The Big Guy’s involvement. We now know that Joe met with Hunter’s business partners, though he has consistently denied knowing anything about Hunter’s business dealings.

We’ll see what happens and if indictments do come down. Just don’t get your hopes up that Hunter will ever be held to the same standard that others are in these matters. He’ll likely write a check or two if his wrist is slapped and be on his merry way.

That is not equal justice under the law.

When You Don’t Want To Admit The Problem, Change The Definition

America’s economy is not exactly humming along. Inflation is out of control, and continuing high gas prices are adding fuel to the fire. It hasn’t been a good economic year for most Americans. However, the Biden administration is doing everything it can to avoid saying that America is experiencing a recession. On Sunday, Red State posted an article about one way that the Biden administration is avoiding admitting that we are in a recession.

The article reports:

This coming July 28th, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis will release the second quarter GDP numbers, and all available signs point to a disastrous report. Current trackers have growth sitting at around -1.6 percent as of July 19th.

That means that according to the most traditional definition of a recession, the United States has already entered into one. US first quarter GDP came in at -1.6 percent, which combines with the second quarter drop to give the economy two straight quarters of negative growth. That is the technical definition of a recession. Further, the bond yield curve has recently inverted, something that has preceded every other recession in modern history.

What’s the White House to do with that devastating economic news dropping on their watch and as a result of their policies? Apparently, in a move that would make George Orwell cringe, they are going to simply redefine what it means to be in a recession.

The article includes the following Tweet:George Orwell would be proud.

The article continues:

I wonder if the “economists” cited by the White House in that statement are the same “economists” who said inflation would be temporary and transitory? That would make sense given how ridiculous it is to suggest that two straight quarters of negative growth combined with an inflationary boom and a yield curve inversion don’t qualify as a recession. After all, why be technical about something as important as analyzing the US economy when you can just have a panel of faceless economic advisors redefine the terms and proclaim that negative growth is actually a sign of strength.

Do they really think Americans are that stupid?

Common Sense Steps In

Yesterday I reported that the man who attacked Congressman Lee Zeldin (article here) had been released from jail “on his own recognizance.” He was released due to the ridiculous bail reform laws in New York State. However, that is not the end of the story (thankfully).

Late Saturday, Yahoo News reported the following:

A Perinton man was arrested Saturday afternoon on a federal charge of assaulting Congressman Lee Zeldin, the Republican nominee for New York governor, at a campaign event Thursday.

David G. Jakubonis, 43, made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Marion W. Payson at the Keating Federal Building in Rochester. He was charged with assaulting a member of Congress using a dangerous weapon and is being held in custody pending a detention hearing on July 27.

Jakubonis had already been arraigned on a state charge of attempted second-degree assault and was released on his own recognizance, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

It is a federal crime under Tile 18, U.S. Code, § 351 to assault a member of Congress. Prosecutors do not have to prove that a defendant knew that the victim was a member of Congress to prove a violation of the law. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

On Sunday, The Huffington Post reported:

A man accused of attacking New York GOP gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin during a recent campaign rally told investigators he’d been drinking that day and didn’t know who the congressman was, authorities said as the man was arrested on a federal assault charge Saturday.

David Jakubonis, 43, made an initial court appearance Saturday before a federal magistrate judge in Rochester, New York, on a single count of assaulting a member of Congress with a dangerous weapon. The charge carries a potential maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Isn’t it interesting that the attacker is claiming that he did not know who his victim was. Why does he thing the Congressman was standing on a stage talking to a group of people? I suspect it will be a shock to him when he finds out that the fact that he claims he did not know the Congressman is irrelevant.

Has This Lady Read The U.S. Constitution?

On Friday, The Hill posted an article about a recent comment by Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan.

The article reports:

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan said on Thursday at a conference that the legitimacy of the Supreme Court is tied to its conformity to public opinion, Reuters first reported.

“I’m not talking about any particular decision or even any particular series of decisions, but if over time the court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that’s a dangerous thing for a democracy,” Kagan said at a judicial conference in Montana.

…Kagan said at the conference that the court earns its legitimacy by remaining impartial and nonpartisan.

“Overall, the way the court retains its legitimacy and fosters public confidence is by acting like a court, is by doing the kinds of things that do not seem to people political or partisan,” she said.

Kagan referenced times in history when Supreme Court justices failed to discipline themselves and instead “attempted to basically enact their own policy or political or social preferences,” saying that this puts court legitimacy at risk.

This is an amazing statement. The only thing the Supreme Court is required to be tied to is the U.S. Constitution.

On Saturday, Ed Morrissey posted the following at Hot Air:

Liberal Justice Elena Kagan said on Thursday that it would be a “dangerous thing for a democracy” if the conservative-majority U.S. Supreme Court loses the confidence of the American public.

Speaking in public for the first time since the court’s momentous ruling last month that overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide, Kagan stressed the importance of the justices staying in their proper roles as judges and not dictating public policy.

The problem with Roe v. Wade actually had very little to do with abortion. The problem with Roe v. Wade was the Tenth Amendment.

The Tenth Amendment states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Abortion is an issue that needs to be determined by every state–by legislators voted in by the people of that state and answerable to the people of that state. The Supreme Court simply overturned a decision that was unconstitutional. They did not end abortion–they simply left it up to each state to make the laws that the people in that state want.

A Closer Look At The World Economic Forum

On Thursday, The Western Journal posted an op-ed about some of the people who are part of the World Economic Forum and their ideas. We really don’t want to let these people anywhere near positions of power.

The op-ed notes:

In June 2020, at its 50th annual meeting, the WEF announced the launch of the “Great Reset,” an initiative to reimagine the world and transform the global economy.

This effort involves transhumanism, the development of technologies across digital and biological worlds to improve human mental and physical capabilities — that is, to make disabilities, suffering, disease, aging and involuntary death a thing of the past. Schwab described this in more detail in his 2016 book “The Fourth Industrial Revolution.” According to him, this revolution will change not only what we do but also who we are.

In a 2016 Swiss television interview, the interviewer asked when he thought implantable microchips would be implemented on humanity. Schwab said, “Certainly in the next 10 years. And at first we will implant them in our clothes. And then we could imagine that we will implant them in our brains, or in our skin.”

In a 2020 book co-authored with Thierry Malleret, “COVID-19: The Great Reset,” Schwab declared that the COVID-19 crisis represented an unprecedented opportunity to reimagine the world — that is, to implement the Great Reset. This includes genetic engineering involving making people part-synthetic, incorporating them into the Internet of Bodies (an evolution of the Internet of Things), and merging them into a required global digital identification regime in order to participate in this reimagined world.

Schwab’s top adviser and transhumanist Dr. Yuval Noah Harari openly admits that the gathering of enormous amounts of data on individuals would enable global elites to build a digital dictatorship that tyrants of the past could only have imagined.

The article includes a few more ideas from Dr. Harari:

“Now, humans are developing even bigger powers than ever before. We are really acquiring divine powers of creation and destruction. We are really upgrading humans into gods. We are acquiring, for instance, the power to re-engineer life.”

“Fake news has been with us for thousands of years. Just think of the Bible.”

“All these stories about Jesus rising from the dead and being the Son of God — this is fake news.”

Wow.
