Confirming The Truth

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the censorship that was going on during the Biden administration.

The article reports:

Google just acknowledged that it censored right-leaning viewpoints on its platforms — especially YouTube. 

The House Judiciary Committee announced on Tuesday that “Google commits to offer all creators previously kicked off YouTube due to political speech violations on topics such as COVID-19 and elections an opportunity to return to the platform.”

Google made multiple admissions to the committee, according to a press release. It confessed that the Biden administration “pressured Google to censor Americans and remove content that did not violate YouTube’s policies.” The company further labeled the administration’s conduct as “unacceptable and wrong” and vowed to never use third-party “fact-checkers,” which have repeatedly shown bias against the right.

Now, after years of the left claiming that conservatives and libertarians were peddling conspiracy theories about the Biden administration collaborating with social media platforms to suppress speech, the world’s largest search engine has admitted that we were right all along.

Maybe President Trump and the Republican Party are not the fascists.

The article concludes:

Google was not the only company that functioned as a censorship tool for the Biden regime. The White House also pressured Facebook to ensure that only Democrat-approved narratives about COVID-19 and vaccines were allowed on the platform. Former President Joe Biden even went so far as to accuse Facebook of killing people by not doing enough to suppress contradictory content.

Biden’s White House used its leverage to coerce Google and other companies into compliance. Internal messages showed that executives feared retaliation. 

The question now centers on whether YouTube will actually follow through on its promises. Now that Biden is no longer in office, they have no reason to continue their censorship efforts — unless they always agreed with them in the first place and they were not actually being forced to go along with the authoritarian left.

Given that Trump is in office, YouTube might just read the writing on the wall and roll back its censorious practices. But there is another important question: Will the federal officials involved in this scandal face accountability or will this situation show once again that we live in a two-tiered justice system?

I for one would really appreciate some accountability!

Most Of Us Suspected This

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the jobs numbers that were reported during the last year or so of the Biden administration. They were strictly made-up numbers.

The article reports:

The Biden administration’s claim of a robust job market has officially collapsed under the weight of complex numbers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) just announced that job creation in the 12 months through March 2025 was overstated by a staggering 911,000 jobs — the most significant downward revision on record. The economy, it turns out, wasn’t growing nearly as fast as Biden’s team led Americans to believe.

Instead of the originally reported 1.8 million new jobs, the actual figure is closer to 850,000. That cuts average monthly job growth during that period by more than half, from 147,000 down to just over 70,000. So much for the “strongest labor market we’ve ever seen.”

These inflated numbers weren’t isolated to a single sector. The shortfall hit nearly every part of the economy, with the most damage in retail, hospitality, business services, and manufacturing. Even the information sector — often touted as a strength in Biden’s economy — saw a revision of over two percent, the steepest percentage drop of any category.

For President Donald Trump, who took office amid glowing media coverage of Biden’s so-called economic legacy, this revision confirms what many already suspected: he inherited a far weaker economy than advertised. What was framed as historic strength was just statistical smoke and mirrors.

The article concludes:

President Trump has responded by removing BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer and nominating economist E.J. Antoni, a vocal critic of the agency’s flawed methodology. After two consecutive years of massive revisions, accountability is long overdue.

The revision technically covers data only up to March 2025, but the picture since then has been no better. Just 22,000 jobs were added in August — hardly a sign of a thriving labor market. If anything, this latest data confirms that America’s economy has been sputtering for longer than the media or the Biden White House would admit. And now, the illusion is gone.

These were the numbers that were part of the reason the Federal Reserve chose not to lower interest rates during the summer. Let’s hope these numbers will be a wake-up call to them. There is, however, good news on the horizon. Many of the leading indicators are moving in a positive direction. The workforce participation rate was also slightly up in August. Brighter days are ahead, but we were lied to when we were told the economy was chugging along just fine during the Biden administration.

There Are Some Things Blocking Full Release Of America’s Energy Potential

On Friday, Townhall posted an article noting that in order for America to unleash its total energy potential, some of the regulations regarding energy would have to be changed.

The article reports:

This summer, President Trump and Congress have been extremely successful with remaking the American economy to deliver for workers and businesses, passing the “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act (OBBB) in July that extends important tax cuts and unleashes American energy.

In particular, American energy dominance and independence was a key winner, as numerous provisions repealed Biden-era giveaways to green energy that held back our economy, making energy less reliable and affordable. Yet the OBBB is just the first step for unleashing American energy, and the next step must be comprehensive permitting reform. With these mandates to expand our national energy dominance, lawmakers must remove the onerous red tape and bureaucratic delays to get critical infrastructure projects off the ground.

 The OBBB was the right first step, accelerating the end to wind and solar tax credits that were part of the “Green New Deal” that constrained domestic energy supply. The bill also compels the Interior Department to hold more land leases in our waters, which as Interior Secretary Doug Burgum states, “marks a significant shift in how we manage our public lands, support energy development and work with local communities.” 

The article notes:

Our nation’s permitting process is currently governed by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Clean Water Act (CWA), both outdated laws that have made it such that projects on average take 4.5 years to permit, with transmission projects to protect our national grid taking 6.5 years. With the OBBB, sponsors can now pay for an expedited review of their Environmental Assessment (EA), which has shorter deadlines and requirements to update the process.

It should be noted that the last significant oil refinery built in the United States was the Marathon Refinery in Garyville, Louisiana, which opened in 1976. However, a new refinery, the Texas International Terminals refinery, began operations in February 2022, but it is considered a smaller facility compared to major refineries. We need to drill for more oil and build more refineries.

The article concludes:

Comprehensive proposals like the SPEED Act (Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act) are the much-needed next step to unleash American energy after the OBBB. While its first steps are a positive development in getting energy infrastructure projects online and growing good-paying industrial jobs, deeper issues remain with NEPA and the system of judicial review. When Congress comes back this fall, comprehensive permitting reform must be top of mind for policymakers, which will strengthen our domestic economy, national security, and position in the global marketplace.

Creative Editing on CBS (Again)?

If you are depending on CBS for your news, you are not only uninformed–you are misinformed. Their latest effort in creative editing occurred during an interview with Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem on Face the Nation.

On Monday, Townhall reported:

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem is ripping into CBS News for omitting her full answers during an interview on Face the Nation. The network cut almost 25 percent of her answers for their Sunday show, where Ms. Noem spoke about the ongoing efforts and operations to deport illegal aliens. She also expounded more about the ongoing case against Abrego Garcia, but CBS News took the hatchet to that as well (via DHS):

During the broadcast, CBS edits deprived the American people from hearing the truth about MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The following 25 seconds were cut from her answer:

“This individual was a known human smuggler, MS-13 gang member, an individual who was  a wife beater, and someone who was um so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors. And even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off. He was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children. So, uh, he needs to  never be in the United States of America and our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can to bring him to justice.” 

During an answer to a question about Secretary Noem’s successful arrest of 5,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles, CBS cut the following: 

“…And many of these individuals were people who have, you know, conducted horrific um horrific activities against American citizens, trafficking of children and pedophiles. And so that’s uh one of the things that the people of a LA can be grateful for is that they don’t have those bad actors, those people on their streets anymore because of the work of President Trump and his administration.” 

We don’t need foreign criminals walking around America. We have enough of our own.

Finding The Children

On Saturday, Townhall posted an article about the 300,000 children who went missing after crossing America’s southern border as unaccompanied minors.

The article reports:

Border czar Tom Homan revealed the Trump administration has found tens of thousands of the unaccompanied children who went missing under the Biden administration.

“Out of the 300,000 children, I looked at the numbers just yesterday, we located over 23,000 of them,” he said on Fox News. “So, 23,000 locations of the 300,000. But President Trump is committed. We’re not gonna stop until we find every one of them or at least run every lead down of those 300,000 children. So that’s a big plus for the administration, because the last administration wasn’t even looking for them.”

As the New York Post reported last month, many of these children were “condemned to a ‘conveyor belt’ of rape and abuse.”

The article notes:

When Homan announced the Department of Homeland Security had found 10,000 of the children in July, he blasted the media for ignoring the story.

The article concludes:

Every illegal alien public safety threat we arrest makes this country safer. Every national security threat we take off this street and deport makes us safer and we’re rescuing thousands of children.”

The fact that they are looking for the missing children is encouraging. I hope they locate every one of them.

What Has Changed In The Streets Of Washington, D.C.?

It’s been nine days since President Trump brought in the National Guard to help the police in Washington. Obviously, the National Guard is not the entire answer–policies in place for dealing with criminals need to be examined and possibly changed. But the impact of simply bringing in the National Guard has been significant.

On Sunday, Townhall reported:

As of this week, Washington, D.C. has now gone nine consecutive days without a single murder — a striking and rare milestone in a city long plagued by violent crime. While the left-wing media hesitates to give credit where it’s due, the facts are clear. This sudden drop in violence follows directly on the heels of President Donald Trump’s decisive federal crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital.

…Since the crackdown began, arrests have surged. Hundreds of criminals, including repeat offenders and undocumented individuals with lengthy records, have been taken off the streets. Violent crime has dropped dramatically. Carjackings, robberies, and assaults are down. And for over a week now, not a single person has been murdered in a city that has too often accepted daily violence as the norm.

This outcome is not a coincidence. It is what happens when leadership stops making excuses and starts enforcing the law. For years, progressive policies and soft-on-crime prosecutors have turned a blind eye to criminal behavior, emboldening gangs and repeat offenders while everyday citizens suffered. The Trump administration’s willingness to step in and do what local leaders refused to do has made an immediate difference.

The article concludes:

President Trump recently announced that Chicago could be the next city to see a federal intervention similar to his crackdown in Washington, D.C., telling reporters, “I think Chicago will be our next,” and adding, “And then we’ll help with New York.” His remarks signal an escalation in his national law-and-order agenda, targeting crime, homelessness, and illegal immigration in major Democrat-led cities. The response from Illinois officials was swift and critical. Gov. JB Pritzker (D), Mayor Brandon Johnson (D), and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D) condemned the plan as unnecessary, politically driven, and potentially illegal, pointing out that Chicago has already seen significant declines in violent crime, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) echoed those concerns, stating that Trump lacks the legal authority to deploy troops in Chicago without a formal request from the state.

Cleaning up Washington, D.C., could easily have been done without the intervention of President Trump. At some point, you have to ask yourself why the Mayor didn’t do it. That same question should be asked of the Democrats who objected to cleaning up Washington and seem to be objecting to cleaning up other major cities. If you don’t want the President to clean up your city, do it yourself!

Insanity In Loudoun County, Virginia

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about two teenage boys who complained about girls being in their high school locker room.

The article reports:

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is suspending two male high school students for complaining about a trans-identified girl using boys’ locker rooms.

LCPS began investigating the matter, which occurred at Stone Bridge High School, back in May. The Virginia school district has a policy allowing students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond to their chosen gender identity.

The father of one of the boys told 7News in May that he was “concerned” about the matter. He stated that the district was investigating his son and another boy to find out whether they had committed sexual harassment by complaining about the female who was using the boys’ locker room.

“And other boys were uncomfortable [with a female in the boys’ locker room],” he told the news outlet. “There were other boys asking the same question. They [LCPS] created a very uncomfortable situation. They’re young, they’re 15 years old. They’re expressing their opinions, and now they’re being targeted for expressing those opinions.”

The female student had been using the boys’ locker room for an extended period of time. In March, she used her phone to record the two boys and their friends in the locker room. “I have a daughter that’s in high school as well, and if there was a male in there videotaping her in the locker room, I would have issues,” the father said.

First of all, cell phones need to be banned from high school locker rooms. High school students are not yet adults and sometimes do dumb things. Don’t tempt them.

The article concludes:

This is how far these people are willing to go to compel the rest of us to pretend that men can become women and vice versa. This action isn’t only about the two boys, but about anyone else who might speak out. This harsh response is intended to send a message: Shut up about gender ideology or we will ruin you.

This is part and parcel of how the authoritarian left approaches the issues. Since they know their views on gender are not popular, they know persuasion won’t work. So they have to resort to using the government to force their will on sane Americans. This is how these people function — and why they must never be in a position to control the government. What happened to these kids shows exactly why they cannot have power.

Any federal funding that goes to that school district needs to be cut.

Actions Have Consequences

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the initial results of President Trump sending National Guard troops into Washington, D.C. The early results are amazing.

The article reports:

President Trump’s crime crackdown in our nation’s crime-riddled capital city is starting to have an impact, according to new stats released by the city’s police union (which endorsed Trump’s move).  We’ll get to those numbers below, but first, a few thoughts: It has been striking to see many opponents of the ‘Trump takeover’ policy try to argue that there is no real crime crisis in DC, which has been the dishonest party line for years, at this point.  One can oppose Trump’s move as overreach, or at least harbor qualms about it, without resorting to alternate universe denialism.  The city is wracked with crime.  It’s a national embarrassment and disgrace.  In just the last few weeks, a former member of Trump’s DOGE team was brutally beaten by a pack of criminal ‘youths’ as he bravely attempted to prevent yet another carjacking, and a young Congressional intern was shot dead in an all-too-common ‘wrong place, wrong time’ murder.

There Are Many Ways To Influence An Election

There are many ways to influence an election. One way is to limit the amount of money paid to a political party or candidate. Another way is to make sure a political party has plenty of money to spread around. It is not a coincidence that the massive cut to the funding of The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has resulted in a shortage of funds at the Democrat party. The money given to the non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) somehow had a way of winding up in groups that supported causes friendly to Democrats. Supposedly non-political organizations can also play a role in how much money a political party has to spend.

On Thursday, Townhall reported:

A political consulting firm, Targeted Victory, claims Gmail has been flagging Republican fundraising emails containing WinRed links as “dangerous” and sending many straight to spam folders. WinRed, the GOP’s central online fundraising platform, brought in roughly $1.6 billion for the 2023–2024 cycle. Its Democratic counterpart, ActBlue, appears to face no such labeling, with emails containing its links going through unimpeded.

The article concludes:

While Targeted Victory was the first to experience the problem, they said the “issue is occurring across vendors’ campaigns and personal Gmail accounts, eliminating the possibility of it being a Targeted Victory-specific or network issue.”

If accurate, this goes beyond a simple technical hiccup; it affects the flow of political funding and the effectiveness of campaigns. In an environment where small-dollar donations drive those campaigns, filtering one party’s platform while clearing its rival’s creates a built-in advantage with real electoral consequences. Something the GOP cannot afford in the upcoming midterm elections.

As more Americans become aware of some of the questionable activities of the Democrat party, I suspect the Republicans will be okay in the midterms.

Good News From Florida

On Monday, Townhall reported the following:

An undercover operation in Florida, labeled “Operation Seek and Ye Shall Find Out,” led to the arrests of 48 men, including 6 illegal aliens. The sting against child sex predators lasted for six days in Marion County, Florida.

The report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said the men used various social media platforms, including Snapchat and dating apps, to meet children and to coordinate physical meetings. Undercover officers interacted with the men, who believed they were communicating with 13-15 year old children.

The alleged predators possessed condoms, guns, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and other drugs at the time of their arrests, according to investigators.

Florida’s Attorney General James Uthmeier spoke Wednesday at a press conference held after the operation.

“As a father, I am outraged by the heinous crimes we spoke about today,” said Uthmeier. “As Attorney General, I’m proud of the brave officers behind this record-breaking operation. The predators arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office thought they were meeting children—instead they were met with handcuffs. In Florida, we protect our kids and hold predators accountable.”

These arrests should serve as a warning to parents to always be aware of who your children are talking to online. Predators use different social media platforms and different methods of luring children. In some cases, children from are lured into trafficking with promises of modeling careers.

The article concludes:

The report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office alleges that many of these men used social media platforms to arrange explicit meet-ups locations. Forty of the men have been charged with traveling to meet a minor for illegal sexual conduct and human trafficking.

Uthmeier stated the Attorney General’s Office has filed a lawsuit against Snapchat, alleging the platform violated Florida laws designed to protect its children. 

“There is no defense,” said Uthmeier. “There is no justification. There is no excuse. It cannot happen, and it will not happen in Florida.”

Sleight Of Hand At Its Best

The Trump Russia Hoax is in the headlines because of new information and new whistleblowers. But sometimes the press (mainstream and otherwise) overlooks the read purpose of the hoax. When President Trump was elected the first time, the hoax was no longer useful in preventing him from being elected. The hoax had some value as a way to hamstring his administration and tie them down with lawsuits and other baseless things (which it did), but why did it continue for so long? Possibly because it was working, but there is another reason.

On Saturday, Townhall reported:

It’s over, man. Over. The Russian collusion hoax has been so thoroughly exposed, so stripped down to the bare bones, that it’s now just as pathetic as it is disconcerting. The largest intelligence operation in American history was used against us—and for what? To cover Hillary Clinton’s botched use of an unsecured server while she served as Barack Obama’s top diplomat. Since the server was unsecured, it was likely hacked, and files were retrieved. Democrats needed to take action to launch countermeasures.  

There was no file on Donald Trump from the Russians, but they did have one on Ms. Clinton. Former Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi had a damning post summarizing all the document dumps that have occurred over the past few days—all of which point to a cover-up and Obama’s people working vigorously to set up Mr. Trump to get Hillary out of a jam.

Racket News reports:

Now, we know. With the help of the declassified Durham material, we can explain the whole affair in three brushstrokes.

One, Hillary Clinton and her team apparently hoped to deflect from her email scandal and other problems via a campaign tying Trump to Putin. Two, American security services learned of these plans. Three — and this is the most important part — instead of outing them, authorities used state resources to massively expand and amplify her scheme. The last stage required the enthusiastic cooperation and canine incuriosity of the entire commercial news business, which cheered as conspirators made an enforcement target of Trump, actually an irrelevant bystander.

I don’t know what the statute of limitations is on some of these crimes, but if we are to have ‘equal justice under the law,’ every person involved in this scheme needs to go to jail.

The Files In The Burn Bags

We now have the smoking gun(s) on the Russia Hoax and the Hillary Clinton email scandal. The documents hidden in the back room have been declassified and made public. Whether or not anyone will be held accountable remains to be seen. Someone who I consider a reliable source experienced in handling classified material told me that he believes the documents were saved on purpose by a future whistleblower. Because of the the procedure for dealing with classified information, that makes sense. Normally all no-longer-needed classified information is put in a burn bag and incinerated daily. The security officer on site is supposed to make sure all of it burns before he leaves the premises.

On Thursday, Townhall posted an article about some of the information that has been declassified.

Some highlights from the article:

First, we have George Soros ties, with emails from Open Society Foundations Regional Director Leonard Bernardo that were authentic, which spoke to the Trump-Russia collusion narrative being used against the then-incoming president. The Obama FBI never investigated this angle. Moreover, as Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) noted in his press release about the annex, no investigative steps were taken to follow up on any leads related to Russiagate. The answer is simple: they were all in on peddling this operation.

Second, while Barack Obama ordered the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, Hillary Clinton also signed off on using the Russian collusion hoax to attack Trump. Obama-Clinton—quite the gruesome twosome.

The article concludes:

James Clapper seems to be the only member of this plot who has knowingly admitted to lawyering up. Brennan, Obama, and Clinton should be next. They should be charged, especially Brennan, who likely committed perjury in his May 2017 testimony, where he said the Steele Dossier “wasn’t part of the corpus of intelligence information that we had. It was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment that was done.”

DNI Tulsi Gabbard set that narrative aflame, nuking it from orbit with her document disclosures. This was a seditious conspiracy, and the media is just as culpable. Without them, this operation dies quickly. We should demand more documents, but for now, we have enough to charge people. 

Obama has already been referred to the DOJ for potential prosecution.

We may never get accountability, but we can consume a lot of popcorn watching the show.

Where Some Of The Unaccompanied Minor Children Went

On July 11th, Townhall posted an article about a recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) raid at a cannabis farms in Camarillo, California.

The article reports:

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott confirmed 10 of the individuals discovered during an immigration enforcement operation at cannabis farms in Camarillo, California, were illegal immigrant minors.

Responding to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s X post calling President Trump “the real scum,” Scott revealed the “breaking news.”

“Here’s some breaking news: 10 juveniles were found at this marijuana facility – all illegal aliens, 8 of them unaccompanied,” he said. “It’s now under investigation for child labor violations. This is Newsom’s California.”

The Department of Homeland Security’s X account also responded to Newsom’s post: “Why are there children working at a marijuana facility, Gavin?” 

Another article posted at Townhall on July 11th reports:

We’ve gone beyond leftists being annoying and hysterical regarding disrupting Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. It’s now domestic terrorism. ICE conducted a raid on a cannabis farm in Camarillo, California, which devolved into a total circus. They tried to block vehicles, used human chain antics, and were being overall annoying. Then, things got violent. Video clearly shows an anti-ICE activist shooting at federal agents during the mayhem (via ABC 7):

This is in no way acceptable behavior. A political party that justifies child labor and illegal entry into America is not a political party–it is a lawless gang that has lost its way.

Slowing Down The Lawfare

One of the political left’s preferred methods of blocking President Trump and his agenda is lawfare. The deep state raided his house, arrested him, posted a mugshot, and generally tried to use questionable legal tactics to stop him from becoming President. When that didn’t work, they enlisted the aid of some liberal district court judges to counter his agenda. Well, that may be coming to an end.

On Friday, Townhall reported:

In a 6-3 decision Friday, the Supreme Court ruled President Donald Trump’s efforts to end “birthright” citizenship are constitutional, overruling rogue judges issuing national injunctions. As explained by our friends at RedState, “the court has issued an opinion in CASA v. Trump, which is actually three consolidated cases involving challenges to President Donald Trump’s executive order regarding birthright citizenship.” 

“Universal injunctions likely exceed the equitable authority that Congress has given to federal courts. The Court grants the Government’s applications for a partial stay of the injunctions entered below, but only to the extent that the injunctions are broader than necessary to provide complete relief to each plaintiff with standing to sue,” the decision states, authored by Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

“When a court concludes that the Executive Branch has acted unlawfully, the answer is not for the court to exceed its power, too,” she continued. “The Court today puts an end to the ‘increasingly common’ practice of federal courts issuing universal injunctions.”

President Trump is the duly elected President of the United States–district court judges cannot supersede his authority.

A More Accurate Assessment

On Thursday, Townhall posted an article about the damage done by America’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. There have been varying reports of the extent of the damage. This report comes from the UN Atomic Energy Watchdog Chief.

The article reports:

We’ve been subjected to fake news about the intelligence report showing that President Trump’s air strikes on Iran were ineffectual in crippling its nuclear capabilities. It’s what liberals clung to like grim death in the wake of Operation Midnight Hammer, a precision strike from our B-2 Bomber fleet that pounded the terror state. Key nuclear facilities were struck, but the media would have us believe nothing happened. Please. No one knew this operation was going to happen. There were no leaks, but somehow, we need to all believe this low-confidence, top-secret report that was leaked to the press.

CNN pimped this fake news story. After getting raked over the coals by the Trump administration, they’re circling the wagons around the fake news reporter who peddled this garbage. This liberal narrative hit another snag: UN’s nuclear watchdog chief said the air strikes severely derailed Iran’s nuclear infrastructure (via Washington Free Beacon):

The U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities set back the Islamic Republic’s program “significantly,” the head of the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog organization said Tuesday.

“I think the Iranian nuclear program has been set back significantly, significantly,” International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general Rafael Grossi said in a Fox News interview. He noted that “it is clear that there is one Iran—before June 13, nuclear Iran—and one now,” describing the difference as “night and day.”

Just before the Tuesday afternoon interview, the IAEA revealed that it detected “extensive damage at several nuclear sites in Iran, including its uranium conversion and enrichment facilities.” That damage caused a radioactive release, according to the organization.

I don’t think you can drop that much explosive material anywhere without doing significant damage. I don’t know whether the CNN was simply misled or just didn’t want to give President Trump a victory. It is sad that our mainstream media has gotten so far off the mark.

When Politics Becomes More Important Than Patriotism

On Wednesday, Townhall posted an article with a headline that asked a very interesting question:

Why Haven’t Any Living Former Presidents Publicly Supported Trump for Enforcing Their Unanimous Red Line?

All of our living former Presidents (and a number of legislators) have stated at one time or another that Iran should never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. Some of our former Presidents said this despite giving Iran large sums of money that were probably spent on developing a nuclear weapon.

The article reports:

This is a fair question from Matt Continetti, who recites some of the relevant quotations before posing it. I’ll add to the list. President Bill Clinton described a nuclearlzed Iran as intolerable and signed the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, “which authorize[d] him to take punitive action against individuals or organizations known to be providing material aid to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in Iran.”  President George W. Bush intoned in 2008 that “permitting the world’s leading sponsor of terror to possess the world’s deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations.”  He added, “for the sake of peace, the world must not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.”  The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg cooed about President Barack Obama’s “crystal clear promise to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.” Obama himself said in 2012 that “when the United States says it is unacceptable for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, we mean what we say.” For added emphasis, he said, “I don’t bluff.”  President Joe Biden declared that the Iranian regime would “never get a nuclear weapon on my watch” in 2021.

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) has become more important in some peoples’ minds than the safety of America. It is interesting that after President Trump was the only President to act on the promise that Iran would never obtain a nuclear weapon, there was no acknowledgement of the accomplishment by those who failed to do it.

One Possible Source Of Funding

One of the nagging questions about the Los Angeles riots is the source of the money to pay the protesters, the bricks, the fact masks, etc. Well, one Senator seems to have a pretty good idea of what that source is,

On Wednesday, Townhall reported:

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism, announced he is launching an investigation into one of the entities that possibly funded the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.

The lawmaker posted a letter addressed to the executive director of the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights on social media informing her of the probe.

“While peaceful protest is a cornerstone of American democracy, these demonstrations have escalated into lawless mob actions,” Hawley wrote. “They have obstructed federal law enforcement, endangered public safety, and disrupted the rule of law. This lawlessness is unacceptable. It must end.”

The senator further stated that “Credible reporting now suggests that your organization has provided logistical support and financial resources to individuals engaged in these disruptive action” and argued that “bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.”

The article concludes:

The riots kicked off over the past weekend in response to several ICE raids in Los Angeles. Rioters engaged in looting, vandalism, and targeting law enforcement officers. President Donald Trump responded by sending 2,000 National Guard troops to the area, along with Marines, to quell the unrest.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration has filed a lawsuit against the administration, accusing it of trying to militarize the city. He filed an emergency motion on Tuesday to block Trump’s troop deployment. But a federal judge rejected the motion.

Why would the Governor or California not want the National Guard to help quell the riots? Why would the Mayor of Los Angeles step into the chain of command and delay help for the endangered police and United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents? There are a lot of questions we need answers for, and I suspect that there are a lot of people who need to be held accountable for their actions,

The Justice Department Is Suing North Carolina

On May 28th, Townhall posted an article stating that the Department of Justice is suing North Carolina.

The article reports:

The Department of Justice on Tuesday announced a lawsuit against the State of North Carolina and the North Carolina State Board of Elections for its inaccurate voter rolls—a violation of the Help America Vote Act.

The lawsuit alleges the state did not require a proper form of identification—a driver’s license or the last four digits of a Social Security number—in its voter registration form, a clear violation of HAVA.

Because proper identification rules were not followed in the 2024 election, a number of votes were accepted that were questionable at best.

In April, Breitbart reported:

A North Carolina appeals court has ruled that more than 60,000 voters who voted in the state’s Supreme Court election in November 2024 must verify that they are eligible to vote.

The ruling from the appeals court ordering “more than 65,000 voters” to prove their eligibility comes after Judge Jefferson Griffin, who ran against North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs in November, challenged the results of the election, according to NBC News.

Per the outlet, voters “now have 15 business days to provide state elections officials with the necessary proof of identity that would verify their votes,” and voters who do not respond “will not have their votes counted in the race.”

That decision was overruled by another court and Allison Riggs was declared the winner of the election. I suspect the lawsuit by the Department of Justice might have something to do with preventing that from happening in the future.

The article at Townhall concludes:

“Accurate voter registration rolls are critical to ensure that elections in North Carolina are conducted fairly, accurately, and without fraud,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division. “The Department of Justice will not hesitate to file suit against jurisdictions that maintain inaccurate voter registration rolls in violation of federal voting laws.”

Every legal vote needs to be counted. Every illegal voter needs to be prevented from voting.

The Republican Party Now Contains The Old Obama Coalition

On Saturday, Townhall posted an article about the Obama political coalition and how it has become the Trump coalition. It’s really not surprising when you look at the issues the Democrat party has supported in recent years–massive illegal immigration, boys in girls’ sports, and transgender medical treatments for children. These are generally 80/20 issues, with 80 percent of Americans supporting the Republicans’ views on the issue. The Democrat party needs new issues that are popular with the American voters.

The article reports:

Former Obama aides Jon Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer spoke about one of the main things that’s gnawing at liberals: Trump has taken over their coalition. The Republican Party is now a multi-racial working-class party. Republicans are winning enough women and Latino voters, which makes this latest iteration of the GOP virtually unbeatable. The only good news for Democrats is that Trump is term-limited, and there’s nothing permanent in politics.

It’s an underreported gripe, but the data and the exit polling don’t lie. Pfieffer especially went into how if Democrats don’t reverse course and have the tough discussions about their messaging, agenda, and campaign strategy, they’re on the path toward total annihilation. Latino voters are fleeing the Democrats, and the current leadership and political operative class seems to be banking more on waiting for Trump to ‘screw up.’ It’s not going to work.

Being against President Trump is not a viable political platform. Until the Democrats come up with a few solutions to problems that voters can related to, they are going to have a problem.

The article concludes:

It’s funny how things have flipped: high turnout doesn’t favor Democrats anymore. If every registered voter had been dragged out of their homes and taken to the polls during the 2024 election, Trump would’ve won the popular vote by five points instead of 1.7.

The Democratic Party can’t focus on these issues because it lacks the bandwidth to face them. These people stick their heads in the sand when pressed and given facts that obliterate its views and messaging.

It will be interesting to see if the Democrats can sort this out in the coming year.

The Clues Were There

A lot is being said about former President Biden’s announcement that he has cancer. A number of members of the medical profession believe that the cancer has been there for a while, but the Democrats and the media chose not to share the information. As I pointed out yesterday, former President Biden admitted in 2022 that he had cancer. The admission of course was treated as a gaffe and ignored. However, a news article at Townhall reminds us that there were other clues.

The article reports a comment made by Frank Biden after former President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race:

In a statement to CBS News in July of 2024, Frank Biden said his brother’s health “absolutely” played a role in his decision to exit the race, and dropped a line that raised eyebrows at the time.

“Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time we have left,” his statement to CBS continued. “He is a genuine hero, country over self, it sounds corny in our cynical political environment, but he nor I are cynical. The goal remains the same: defeat Trump and continue the work that Joe has done. My hope is that our party rallies around this heroic act.”

The Biden family response:

After that shocking statement, a “source close to the Biden family” said Biden’s brother was an alcoholic who’s not that close to him.

The Bidens will throw anyone under the bus who gets in the way of their narrative!

Despite the need for sympathy, there is also a need to find out who was running the country during the past four years. Former President Biden’s health issues are no excuse for not upholding the laws that govern our country and holding the people who broke those laws accountable. Let’s start with cabinet members who saw the infirmity, the cognitive decline, and the lack of cabinet meetings and did not discuss using the 25th Amendment.

When You Put People In Leadership Who Don’t Belong There

The Democratic National Committee is in the process of removing David Hogg as its Vice-Chairman. He was elected on February 1, 2025. He has simply not worked out well in that position.

His past actions should have been a clue for the Democrats.

In April 2024, NewsMax reported:

The PAC started by gun activist David Hogg, whose stated mission is “electing young progressives,” instead burned through $1.4 million — representing nearly half the money raised — on travel, political consultants, and legal fees in 2023.

In fact, the Leaders We Deserve PAC spent less than $235,000 toward its mission of electing Gen Z candidates to office, according to a Breitbart report that scrutinized the organization’s FEC filings.

Hogg and his partner, Kevin Lata, raised more than $3 million in the first year of the PAC’s existence from a wide array of donors with a goal of electing more “youthful, audacious, and charismatic trailblazers.”

…However, according to Breitbart, disbursements went out to just four candidates, including one, Rep. Maxwell Frost, for whom Lata was campaign manager.

Further, Hogg and Lata disbursed nearly $125,000 to a transgender Democrat in Alabama whose opponent in October 2023 won the special election with 65% of the vote, Breitbart reported.

Meanwhile, Hogg paid himself $40,000 while Lata’s take was $50,000 for a few months’ work in 2023; the PAC launched late summer, according to the report.

Actually, he should fit in very well with some of the Democrat party leaders.

On May 13, Townhall reported:

We obviously have no dog in this fight, though some have noted the Soviet-style treatment David Hogg is getting at the Democratic National Committee. This party is a total mess, and the vote to put his ouster as vice chair on the fast track only added another chapter to the ongoing ‘Dems in disarray’ soap opera.

The credentials committee paved the way to remove Hogg, though they claim it’s not about politics. It is—it seems this was done to appease the Native American woman who lost to Hogg (via Semafor):

The DNC’s credentials committee will meet virtually on May 12 to consider the challenge from Kalyn Free, a Native American attorney and party activist who lost a vice chair spot to Hogg at the party’s Feb. 1 meeting.

In her complaint, shared with Semafor by a Democratic source, Free argued that she lost a “fatally flawed election that violated the DNC Charter and discriminated against three women of color candidates,” and asks for “two new vice chair elections.” In February, after several rounds of voting, the race came down to five candidates – Kenyatta, Hogg, Free, and two other women. Kenyatta and Hogg claimed the open spots.

Now you know the rest of the story. I am sure it has nothing to do with David Hogg threatening to primary any Democrat Congressman who did not agree with his attempts to ‘reform’ the party.

The Name For This Proposed Law Was Pure Brilliance

Insider trading by Congress has been a problem for a long time. It is one of the ways that a person can enter Congress with a net worth of about $800,000 and become a multi-millionaire in a few years. There have been a few efforts to end insider trading in Congress, but oddly enough those efforts have been voted down.

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the latest effort to end Congressional insider trading.

The article reports:

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is again turning up the heat on Washington corruption by reintroducing the “PELOSI Act,” a bold effort to ban members of Congress and their spouses from trading individual stocks. Named after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), whose financial dealings have long raised questions, the bill directly targets the insider privilege, allowing lawmakers to profit off the markets while shaping policy.

This week, Hawley reintroduced the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments (PELOSI) Act, which would ban members of Congress from trading or holding individual stocks. The senator argued that lawmakers should prioritize serving their constituents, not profiting from stock trading using insider information. He said that the act would help restore public trust in the government.

Hawley first introduced the act in 2023, but it stalled under President Joe Biden’s administration. With President Donald Trump back in office, the legislation is gaining traction. Trump has pledged to “absolutely” sign the bill if it reaches his desk, stating he “watched Nancy Pelosi get rich through insider information.”

The PELOSI Act would prohibit members of Congress and their spouses from buying, selling, or holding individual stocks while in office. However, they would still be allowed to invest in diversified mutual funds, ETFs, or U.S. Treasury bonds. Lawmakers would have 180 days to comply with the law, and those who fail to do so would be required to forfeit any stock profits to the U.S. Treasury and could face fines from congressional ethics committees.

The Republicans hold majorities in both the House and the Senate. There is no excuse for not getting this done.

When The Deep State Is Confronted, It Fights Back

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the current deep-state-generated controversy surrounding Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

The article notes:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday sent a clear message to leakers in the Pentagon. He suggested that those who gave internal information to the media could be subject to prosecution.

One of the problems in the first Trump administration was leaks from various government agencies to the press. The leaks were designed to block the President’s agenda and prevent him from doing his job. Unfortunately, that is still going on and will continue until there are serious consequences to leakers.

The article continues:

The defense secretary further stated, “We take the classification of information, very important.”

Hegseth confirmed that several senior staffers had been fired because they were suspected of leaking information. “It was the result of an investigation … sufficient evidence to believe that they or others near them were party to leaking,” he said.

The secretary alleged that the staffers who lost their jobs were retaliating by slamming him in the press. “Disgruntled former employees are peddling things to try to save their ass,” he told Kilmeade.

The secretary further explained that the leaks are still under investigation and that the DoD could refer the matter to the Department of Justice. “When that evidence is gathered sufficiently … those people will be prosecuted, if necessary,” he said.

Oddly enough, the attacks on Secretary Hegseth intensified after the leakers were fired. Those who want to destroy the Trump presidency are not happy that one of their weapons has been removed.

The article concludes:

Meanwhile, Democrats are making as much use of the controversies as possible. Several Democratic lawmakers have called for Hegseth to resign. Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) became the first Republican to call for the defense secretary’s firing during an interview with Politico.

“If it’s true that he had another [Signal] chat with his family, about the missions against the Houthis, it’s totally unacceptable,” Bacon said, referring to a New York Times report suggesting that Hegseth shared sensitive information with family members.

Still, President Trump has stood by Hegseth and expressed confidence in his ability to do his job. The administration recently squashed an NPR report claiming that the president is looking to replace Hegseth, calling it “fake news.”

I hope Secretary Hegseth successfully rides this out. We need a few leakers to suffer serious consequences for their actions in order for the leaking to stop.

The Change From Politics To Law Enforcement

On Tuesday, Townhall posted an article about the difference in priorities between the Biden Department of Justice and the Trump Department of Justice.

The article notes:

Don’t tell Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), but on April 17, the Department of Justice released detailed evidence demonstrating how Kilmar Armando Abrego García—whom Sen. Van Hollen and his fellow Democrats falsely portrayed as an innocent “Maryland father”—is not only an illegal immigrant but also a violent member of the brutal MS-13 gang. The Department of Homeland Security also provided court documents showing that García’s wife had previously sought a domestic violence restraining order against him, accusing him of assault and other forms of abuse. It’s the clearest sign yet that the adults are back in charge of protecting America’s homeland, and that’s great for America’s safety.

This degree of coordination between the DOJ and DHS under Trump’s leadership stands in sharp contrast to the Biden administration, when both agencies worked together to advance the Biden administration’s radical political agenda instead of protecting public safety.

…Secretary Mayorkas stopped construction on Trump’s border wall and kept ICE and Border Patrol from doing their jobs. When the surge in border crossings Biden specifically asked for became a political liability for Democrats, he and Attorney General Merrick Garland coordinated to massively expand Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and create the CHNV program, paroling hundreds of thousands of unvetted migrants into the U.S. interior ­— complete with an app to streamline the process.

Things weren’t any better at Biden’s DOJ. Garland presided over a DOJ that targeted Catholic parishes, inflated domestic extremism statistics, and labeled concerned parents as potential terrorists. Peaceful pro-life activists were arrested at gunpoint, while left-wing extremists who threatened Supreme Court justices or firebombed crisis pregnancy centers were ignored.

The article concludes:

Now, that’s changing. Trump’s team is showing the country what it looks like when the DOJ and DHS return to their core mission of protecting American citizens.

They’re working together to go after real threats—not parents, not pro-lifers, not credit card companies. But violent gang members, abusers, and foreign nationals who break our laws and endanger our communities.

Restoring credibility and functionality to these agencies after four years of abuse is a significant step in rebuilding trust with the American people.

Real justice means enforcing the law fairly, consistently, and with the goal of public safety. And for the first time in four years, that’s finally happening.

It will be interesting to see how a Justice Department focused on dealing with actual crimes will impact the crime statistics for 2025.

The Impact Of The Tariffs

On Friday, Townhall reported that Vietnam, after talking with President Trump, has agreed to eliminate tariffs on all U.S. goods if the two parties can negotiate a deal. That’s a good place to start.

The article reports:

This could be some good news – especially on the tariff front. It might mean that American product could become more competitive in Vietnam, which will benefit U.S.-based corporations. Vietnam is seeing a growth of its middle class, which could open new doors for trade.

It would also mean lower prices for American consumers purchasing products manufactured in Vietnam. This would include apparel, furniture, electronics, and several others. Other major corporation have used Vietnam as a significant manufacturing hub, which suggests cheaper imports might. Lower production expenses while boosting profit margins.

A tariff reduction of this type could also strengthen the economic relationship between the U.S. and Vietnam. This might be especially critical if the U.S. seeks to diversify its supply chains away from China. Less reliance on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could bolster Washington’s negotiating position.

There is also the possibility that other nations might follow Vietnam’s lead – especially if the deal benefits the country over the long term.

Of course, there is no deal just yet. But it appears that Vietnam is willing to make some important concessions. Either way, this is a promising sign.

According to the Office of the United States Trade Representative:

U.S. goods trade with Vietnam totaled an estimated $149.6 billion in 2024. U.S. goods exports to Vietnam in 2024 were $13.1 billion, up 32.9 percent ($3.2 billion) from 2023. U.S. goods imports from Vietnam totaled $136.6 billion in 2024, up 19.3 percent ($22.1 billion) from 2023. The U.S. goods trade deficit with Vietnam was $123.5 billion in 2024, an 18.1 percent increase ($18.9 billion) over 2023.

Since the amount of trade we are doing with Vietnam is increasing, a tariff agreement between the two countries would be a good deal for everyone involved.
