How To Create Questionable Numbers

Recently wattsupwiththat posted an article about the new surface station report. Surface stations are the instruments used to measure changes in the earth’s climate. They are what the climate change cabal uses to justify creating havoc in the American economy. The other reference for this article is the actual report.

This new report is a follow up to a March 2009 study, titled “Is the U.S. Surface Temperature Record Reliable?” which highlighted a subset of over 1,000 surveyed stations and found 89 percent of stations had heat-bias issues. In April and May 2022, The Heartland Institute’s team of researchers visited many of the same temperature stations as in 2009, plus many not visited before. The new survey sampled 128 NOAA stations, and found the problem of heat-bias has only gotten worse.

“The original 2009 surface stations project demonstrated conclusively that the federal government’s surface temperature monitoring system was broken, with the vast majority of stations not meeting NOAA’s own standards for trustworthiness and quality. Investigations by government watchdogs OIG and GAO confirmed the 2009 report findings,” said H. Sterling Burnett, director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environment Policy at The Heartland Institute who surveyed NOAA surface stations himself this spring. “This new study is evidence of two things. First, the government is either inept or stubbornly refuses to learn from its mistakes for political reasons. Second, the government’s official temperature record can’t be trusted. It reflects a clear urban heat bias effect, not national temperature trends.”

There are a lot of ways to manipulate numbers to prove a point. A good statistician can actually adjust numbers to prove almost anything. When you locate your climate measuring devices near heat sources, it’s a pretty good bet that you will statistically be able to show that the earth is warming.

FBI Director Christopher Wray echoed the statement as he strode up to the Hoover Building in a dazzling pair of diamond-encrusted Alexander McQueen stilettos. “The men and women of the FBI are paragons of unassailable integrity and impartiality, and any suggestion otherwise is murderous treason,” he said. Several news outlets present also noted the delicious smell of Chanel No.5 in the air.

At publishing time, Trump took to Truth Social to announce that all his golf clubs were also missing.

This is great satire, but it isn’t really funny. If the Washington establishment can so easily violate the civil rights of a former President who has more lawyers than you can shake a stick at, what can they do to an ordinary citizen? If you have doubts, look at the January 6th prisoners who have been denied most of their civil rights–the right to a speedy trial, the right to confront their accusers, the right to protest (many of those in jail did not even enter the Capitol) etc.

If we do not vote for people who will not be part of the swamp, no one will be happy with the condition of our country.

Something To Consider When Buying An Electric Car

On Saturday, Real Clear Science posted an article about one of the problems with electric cars.

The article notes:

I want an electric car. They’re quicker than combustion vehicles, quieter, simpler, cheaper to own over the life of the vehicle, better for the environment, and have that undeniable cool factor. Yet despite my yearning, I still haven’t made the leap (even though my 2013 Kia Rio with manual roll-up windows is ripe for an upgrade). That’s because, living in the seasonally frigid northern U.S., I know there’s a common use-case where pretty much all ‘affordable’ EVs are woefully inept: long-distance winter highway driving.

Here in the Upper Midwest, our interstates are fast and our winters are cold. Speeds north of 70 miles per hour combined with near-zero (F) temperatures wreak havoc on an electric vehicle’s range. While a typical internal combustion engine (ICE) car might suffer only a 10-15% reduction in highway driving range under these conditions, a typical EV currently on the market will have its range dip 30-50 percent! Elevated power output from the motor coupled with electric heating for the cabin increase energy draw from a cold – and thus reduced-capacity – lithium battery. This means that a 274-mile rated Kia EV6 might mange just 160 miles of range in bone-chilling cold, a 278-mile rated Mustang Mach-E might get 180, and a Tesla Model Y could optimistically go about 200. If you’re thinking about a winter road trip, maybe to visit relatives for Christmas or Thanksgiving, in a shorter-range EV like a Kona, Bolt, Leaf, or Niro, forget about it.

Compounding the problem of drastically reduced driving range is the generally inept charging infrastructure along highways in the Upper Midwest. DC fast chargers are few and far between and when you get to one there’s a decent chance it won’t be working. Even if you do find a charger in good operational order, fast charging in cold temperatures can take twice as long at freezing (32°F) and three times longer closer to zero compared to when temperatures are in the seventies. The reason? According to the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory, “cold temperatures impact the electrochemical reactions within the cell, and onboard battery management systems limit the charging rate to avoid damage to the battery.” For most EVs, this delay translates to about an hour and a half or even a two-hour ‘fill-up’ to 80% battery capacity. Yikes.

This sounds like a nightmare. Although the government would like all of us to drive electric cars, it simply is not practical. Most of us don’t have the time to spend hours charging a battery or the money to install a reasonable charger in our homes. There are also serious questions as to whether or not the electrical grid could handle a nation of electric cars. Until the free market takes over and the necessary research is done to make electric cars practical, widespread ownership of electric cars in America is a pipe dream.

Never Underestimate The Reach Of Radical Islam

In September 1099, Salman Rushdie published “The Satanic Verses.”

In an article posted Saturday, The Hill reports:

On Feb. 14, 1989, Iran’s Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa ordering Muslims to kill Rushdie. According to History.com, a fatwa can only be repealed by that same scholar, and Ruhollah Khomeini died in the same year he issued the call.

Under Islamic law, anyone killing Rushdie would be doing something that was in accordance with Islam. The person who attacked Salman Rushdie on stage Friday in New York believed that he was acting in accordance with his religion.

Msn reports:

New York police said a state trooper assigned to the event took a suspect into custody after the attack. In a news conference Friday afternoon, the suspect was identified as Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey, according to New York State Police Maj. Eugene Staniszewsk.

The Hill also notes:

“The Satanic Verses” has also caused issues for those who have translated the work.

Hitoshi Igarashi, a Japanese scholar and translator of Rushdie’s novel, was stabbed to death in 1991.

The Italian translator of the novel, Ettore Capriolo, was injured in a stabbing in Milan in 1991. The Norwegian publisher of the book, William Nygaard, survived the assassination attempt when he was shot three times in Oslo in 1993.

When you hear anyone discuss the idea of allowing Islamic law to exist in America, remember that honor killings and killing of those who slander Islam (according to Islam, slander does not have to be untrue) are part of Islamic law. The attack on Salman Rushdie for telling the truth is one example of Islamic law.

 

An Interesting Change In Attitude From The CDC

On Saturday, The Patriot Post reported that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has evidently discovered natural immunity to Covid-19.

The article reports:

The CDC dropped quarantine recommendations for exposure, as well as social distancing at six feet. Significantly for schools, the CDC ended recommendations known as “test to stay” — the practice that students exposed to COVID should keep testing negative in order to remain at school instead of quarantining.

But the change that really jumped out to us was that there’s no longer any distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Read that again.

The novel vaccine was an exciting achievement and it brought hope of ending the pandemic. That did not, of course, actually happen. First, it wasn’t as effective at preventing infection or transmission as advertised. Second, the Left not only wholeheartedly leapt on the bandwagon but lectured, harassed, condemned, mandated, censored, and fired anyone who disagreed. It was an appalling descent into tyranny capped by Joe Biden’s mandates and firings.

Now the CDC tells us there’s no difference? Oops, we were wrong all along, the CDC now says. Where do the unvaccinated folks who lost their jobs go for recompense? Where do kids go to get those lost years of education? Where do all of us go to get back the money and sanity lost to economic devastation caused by shutdowns and government-induced inflation?

“We know that COVID-19 is here to stay,” said CDC epidemiologist Greta Massetti Thursday. The new guidelines she authored are possible because “high levels of population immunity due to vaccination and previous infection, and the many tools that we have available to protect people from severe illness and death, have put us in a different place” [emphasis added].

She ought to be censored on social media for such dangerous right-wing misinformation.

The Associated Press reports, “An estimated 95% of Americans 16 and older have acquired some level of immunity, either from being vaccinated or infected” [emphasis added].

Does that mean that everyone who is shadow-banned on Facebook (my right wing granny group for instance) can now be unshadow-banned? I doubt it. Does that mean that those of us who have had Covid and not had the shot are now no longer excluded from some employment opportunities? Does that mean that sanity will return to our country? (I doubt it.)

 

This Needs To Be Mentioned Often

On May 5th, Breitbart posted the following headline:

Documents at Mar-a-Lago Marked ‘Classified’ Were Already Declassified, Kash Patel Says

The President has the unencumbered authority to declassify documents. They cannot be reclassified after he has declassified them. President Trump was still in office while the boxes were packed and sent to Mar-a-Lago. It should be noted that there is very little chance that he packed the boxes.

Meanwhile there was no raid similar to the one at Mar-a-Lago to get Hillary Clinton’s secret server.

On August 12, The Western Journal reported:

Speaking with Breitbart News on Wednesday, Kash Patel, a former Department of Defense official under Trump, claimed that the former president had taken a slew of declassified documents with him upon leaving the White House.

“Trump declassified whole sets of materials in anticipation of leaving government that he thought the American public should have the right to read themselves,” Patel said.

However, since the White House counsel “failed to generate the paperwork to change the classification markings,” those documents could still appear to be classified, according to Patel.

The article also contains the full search warrant and the inventory of what was taken from Mar-a-Lago.

If you are one of the people celebrating the fact that President Trump has been treated in this manner, you might want to stop and think for a minute. Is this actually equal justice under the law? If the Justice Department can focus so totally on convicting one individual (show me the person, and I will show you the crime), what does that say about America’s future? We have seen the civil rights of people who were only guilty of trespassing on January 6th totally violated. Now we are seeing the civil rights of a former president violated. Meanwhile, there is public evidence of the son of the current President engaging in all sorts of illegal activity and his crimes are totally ignored.

We are not in a good place.

Vote Flip?

On Wednesday, The Gateway Pundit reported on a voting problem in Cherokee County, Kansas. The original results of the election had to be changed when it was discovered that a voting machine had erroneously assigned votes to the wrong candidate due to a computer glitch.

The article reports:

Nothing to see here, folks.  Just a human error, technical glitch, or “we caught it in time”.  Those are the excuses we hear every single time.  Every time.  Antrim County, Dekalb County, Williamson County, Windham, NH.  The list goes on and on and on of jurisdictions that have some “human error” or “technical glitch” that causes votes to flip, change or swap.

Enter our latest example:  Cherokee County, Kansas.  Not to be confused with Cherokee County, GA that recently went against the will of their constituents by refusing to conduct a hand recount and sided with highly questionable legal guidance from a conflicted attorney who used to work for the Secretary of States Office that is being called into question.

Cherokee County, KS’s election was held last Tuesday on August 2nd. During a post election audit, they discovered that the thumb drives used in the election flipped the votes cast for District 1 County Commissioner Myra Frazier and instead gave them to her opponent, Lance Nichols, who was initially declared the winner.

How did these machines pass the Logic and Accuracy Test?

Well, according to KOAM News:

Officials say the drives worked properly during testing, however, the malfunction was detected after the voting process.

Can these machines be programmed to act appropriately during a Logic and Accuracy Test?  Last week, we saw a small county in Michigan have major discrepancies with the ballots.  It was, once again, chalked up as <insert lame excuse here>.  But the real question that should have been asked, and should be asked in all these examples:

How do they pass the Logic and Accuracy Test?

Or is the L&A test just smoke and mirrors to give us a warm gooey feeling that the machines are doing exactly what they should be.

We need to put in place the purple fingers of Iraq and the hand-counting of ballots. It will take longer, but I think most people would be more inclined to trust the results.

In Case You Hadn’t Noticed The Double Standard

On Tuesday, The Daily Caller posted an article about the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago (yes, it was a raid). The article points out the contrast in the justification for the raid and historical precedent.

The article notes:

Unless scores of witnesses saw Donald Trump stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone, the FBI’s raid of his Mar-a-Lago home represents an unforgivable politicization of our justice system. The proof rests in the peaceful, undisturbed abodes of Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, James Comey, Stefan Halper, Rodney Joffe and every other partisan the FBI investigated without violating the sanctuary of their homes.

…The FBI that raided the former president’s personal residence never sought a warrant to search Clinton’s homes after The New York Times reported on March 3, 2016, that, while secretary of State, she had used a private server. Weeks later Clinton, while plotting her upcoming run for president, wiped her entire server clean using “a sophisticated software program, BleachBit, which eventually made it extraordinarily difficult for the FBI to recover her emails, several thousand of which were successfully destroyed.”

Among the emails deleted were some 30 connected to the Benghazi murders that Clinton never supplied to the State Department upon leaving office — a fairly analogous, albeit more appalling scenario to the theory floated that agents raided Trump’s house on Monday to seize supposedly classified documents.

Agents also didn’t raid Clinton’s homes to recover the 13 mobile devices that the FBI believed the former secretary of State may have used to email her staff. Instead, the DOJ asked Clinton’s attorneys to provide agents the Blackberries and other devices. Less than two weeks later, her lawyers claimed “they were unable to locate any of these devices,” leaving the FBI “unable to acquire or forensically examine any of these 13 mobile devices.”

The article concludes:

Former Department of Justice attorney, Jeff Clark, another Trump loyalist, also saw his home raided by the FBI.

Against this two-pronged approach to justice, Americans need not lean conservative or support Trump to spot the scandal. And Americans need not care about politics to oppose the politicization of the DOJ and FBI: They just need to care about the future of the country — one that cannot survive long if such corruption and cronyism continues.

We need to remember that the President is the person who determines the classification of documents. He has that authority. There is speculation (which I believe will prove true) that the documents the FBI was after were the declassified documents relating to the FBI’s role in the Russiagate scandal. There are a number of powerful people who want those documents destroyed. Although they are declassified, they have not been released. Judicial Watch is suing the Justice Department to obtain them. Stay tuned.

What We All Need To Know About The Monkeypox Outbreak

Recently The Daily Wire posted an article about Monkeypox and what we need to know about it.

This is, I believe, the most important sentence in the article:

Unlike SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID, it is not a respiratory pathogen, which means monkeypox is not thought to spread via inhalation of the same air or respiratory droplets that are released during a sneeze or cough.

The article explains who is most likely to get Monkeypox:

We have also amassed a great deal of information regarding who is at risk. As of August 2, California’s Department of Public Health has reported that among its approximately 1,135 statewide cases of monkeypox, 14 have been hospitalized for the infection, with the vast majority of patients being aged between 25 and 44 years. From among the monkeypox cases with available data, 98.8% have been reported in male or transgender male individuals, with 97.2% of infected individuals identifying as gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Given this information, California’s public health website states: “While it’s good to stay alert about emerging public health outbreaks, the current risk of getting monkeypox in the general public is very low.”

The article concludes:

At this point in the monkeypox epidemic, when case numbers are relatively few and infections are concentrated among well-defined communities, we have a unique and narrow window of opportunity to adopt lessons we have learned from the COVID pandemic and enact focused protection of those who are at risk to both protect those individuals and halt the broader spread of the virus. Focused vaccination programs, educational campaigns regarding safe practices, and temporary limitations on specific events that are likely to lead to further spread of the monkeypox virus should all be considered. We learned from our initial response to the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s that we can do so while being respectful to impacted communities by focusing our language on medical risk reduction, rather than shaming individuals for their identities or personal practices. Any efforts to avoid focused protection of at-risk communities out of fear of stigmatization will cause public health agencies to squander this opportunity to contain the spread of monkeypox, effectively worsening its impact and potentially making it far more difficult to control in the future.

Given how skeptical the public has become after watching public health and political leaders make one harmful mistake after another in their attempt to manage the COVID pandemic, leaders must now set aside politics and political correctness and very transparently employ the clinical evidence about monkeypox to address this epidemic swiftly, before it spreads beyond its existing pockets. Time is running out.

We need to remember that this disease does not have to spread through the general public. Common sense measures will prevent this becoming another Covid-19. However, it might be politically advantageous for some politicians to create a panic that requires mail in ballots and drop boxes in the mid-term elections.

Excuse me? The link got taken down, but given what has transpired at the IRS, the FBI, and the DOJ—it sure looks like the organs of the state are mustering for armed confrontation with the Left’s political enemies. Let’s not forget that the IRS got busted for targeting conservative non-profits in 2013. The recent spending bill passed by Senate Democrats aims to appropriate $80 billion to the IRS, which even former commissioners admit won’t be spent efficiently, but it will add another 87,000 employees to the agency to apparently go on search and destroy missions if we don’t pay our taxes.

We all remember Lois Lerner who targeted conservative groups and has now happily retired with her pension. This is one agency that does not need to add additional personal nor does it need to be armed.

Despite What You Are Being Told, The Inflation Reduction Act Is Simply A Tax Bill

On Monday, Breitbart reported:

Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) has listed several taxes in in the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” that passed the Senate on Sunday — which Democrats now hail as a “climate” bill, since the Congressional Budget Offices says it will hardly reduce inflation.

These taxes include taxes on fossil fuel, which will raise energy costs for working-class families, still struggling with high gas prices; taxes on businesses that will affect consumers and entrepreneurs; taxes on medicines; and taxes that affect pensions.

The article lists the taxes:

The full list, as published by ATR, is summarized below.

  • Taxes on fossil fuels: These include a $6.5 billion tax on natural gas production; a “16.4 cents-per-barrel tax on crude oil and imported petroleum products”; and a $1.2 billion coal tax. All of these would likely raise energy costs for typical households.
  • Taxes on corporations: The bill includes a 15% minimum tax on large corporations, which ATR argues will be passed onto consumers, and which will hit the manufacturing industry particularly hard as it is still struggling with supply chain problems.
  • Taxes on medium-sized businesses: ATR says the bill extends a limit on loss deductions for “passthrough” businesses — S corporations and sole proprietorships — for two years, without extending a corresponding 20% deduction on income.
  • Indirect tax on pensions through taxing stock buybacks: The bill taxes companies that buy their own stock back, ignoring the fact that doing so often raises the price of the stock. The tax therefore hurts 401(k) savings, and even union pension funds.
  • Tax on pharmaceuticals unless they accept price caps: The bill imposes a 95% excise tax on pharmaceuticals that do not accept government price controls, which could affect the ability of drug companies to develop new treatments in the future.

As Ronald Reagan used to say, “Here they go again.”

The article concludes:

The Congressional Budget Office has said the bill will likely have a negligible effect on inflation in the near future, despite its name. The bill passed the Senate on Sunday evening, and now heads to the Democrat-controlled House for likely passage.

Why am I not surprised that the bill will not immediately impact inflation? The way to stop inflation is to stop spending and bring back energy independence.

Biting The Hand That Feeds You

This article is not going to be about the need for new Republican leadership in Congress. It is going to be about what the current leadership has done to undermine the American middle class worker.

On Monday, The Conservative Review posted an article about the semiconductor bill passed by Congress that is supposed to help America manufacture the computer chips for cars and other electronic devices.

The article notes:

Republicans are all unanimous in their opposition to the reconciliation “Build Back Better” bill, but Mitch McConnell and 16 other Senate Republicans voted for the mini BBB bill, dumping billions of dollars into companies that have created a brain gain for China’s trade theft to drain our supply chains. Not only did McConnell agree to the bill despite the refusal of Democrats to entertain amendments ensuring that the jobs stay in America, but now these same companies are turning around and demanding more foreign workers to hire.

“In the near-term, the U.S. educational system does not produce enough Americans with the required qualifications to meet the demand of companies, not just in the semiconductor industry, but across the technical sector,” the HR officers of nine semiconductor companies wrote in a letter to congressional leaders. The nine companies were: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.; Ampere Computing; ASML US; Broadcom Inc.; Americas Global Foundries; Infineon Technologies; Americas Corp.; Intel Corporation; Samsung Semiconductor, Inc.; and Texas Instruments Incorporated.

Maybe we should fix our educational system instead of hiring foreign workers. However, blaming our educational system is a red herring. The problem is that foreign workers do not demand the salaries and benefits that American workers demand, thus increasing the profit margin of the companies involved.

The article notes:

Massive corporations lobbying for endless corporate welfare along with visa pork is what has demographically gerrymandered the American worker out of entire industries and what has ultimately led to China’s gain and our drain. The pipeline begins with F-1 student visas. In the case of foreign students, it’s really the god of public education, which is being subsidized happily by the Chinese. The universities get cash from the Chinese government, while the Chinese get operatives and intelligence officers into the country to work in academic fields and occupations. The rest of the American people lose. We bring in roughly 369,548 Chinese foreign students a year, together with 80,000 more on immigrant visas. In other words, there are about as many Chinese students in the U.S. as the entire university enrollment in the state of Maryland.

Noted right-wing outlet CNN reported in 2019, “The sheer size of the Chinese student population at U.S. universities presents a major challenge for law enforcement and intelligence agencies tasked with striking the necessary balance between protecting America’s open academic environment and mitigating the risk to national security.” Yet these tech companies think we are not bringing in enough Chinese immigrants. The director of national intelligence warned, “China’s intelligence services will exploit the openness of American society, especially academia and the scientific community, using a variety of means.”

The article concludes:

Indeed, corporate welfare mixed with endless visa pork has destroyed our sovereignty as citizens and has sold us out to transnational corporations that now have us over the barrel. Naturally, Congress will aggravate the very variables that got us into this mess.

This is only one example of the reason we need to drain the Washington swamp.

Roadmap for a U-Turn

I think we Americans have reached a consensus that our country is going in the WRONG direction, don’t you? The Great Awakening is real. We’re looking around us and seeing our government attempting to control us, allowing our border to be invaded, indoctrinating, confusing, and frightening young children and teens in our schools (while failing to teach them to read, write, and do arithmetic), creating money out of thin air and pumping it into our economy to further acerbate the horrible inflation that the government brought on us by choking off domestic fossil fuel production, and now they’re tuning up to increase our taxes and the harassment power of the IRS. What a mess!

What are we going to do about it?

I think we need to reach a consensus about how to start turning our country around, don’t you? One way to think about it is that we need a roadmap for how to make a U-turn, and we need it pronto!

I’d like to share some ideas with you, and maybe you’ll be kind enough to share your reactions and your original thoughts on the subject with me in return. We need discussion, and our goal needs to be to reach consensus and act on it, don’t you think?

First of all, if we cannot elect whomever we choose, our Constitution, our freedom, and our country are kaput. It will be time to agree to live as surfs of the authoritarian government or mount a second American Revolutionary War. I don’t find either of these options appealing, do you?

The alternative to accepting serfdom or fighting is to ensure that our midterm elections go well. Let’s think about how to do that.

We keep hearing about a red wave (indeed, a red tsunami) that is coming our way. Too much is riding on that’s being true to take it for granted. We need to volunteer to make “get out the vote” phone calls, go door to door, and register conservatives to vote. The best way to do that is to volunteer with your local Republican Party. No, not all Republicans are conservatives (though they’ll probably say they are), but the Republican Platform is and REAL Republicans are, plus they tend to be organized with the phone numbers and addresses we’ll need.

The next thing we’ll need to volunteer to do is to take the needed training and volunteer to serve as a poll judge or assistant, or as a poll observer INSIDE the polling place. This is not fun, and the hours are long, but as an alternative to serfdom or war, it looks darned good to me. Training is the key to doing this effectively. You need to know how the election is to be conducted legally, and you need to know what to do if you see something bogus going on.

If all the inside-the-poll slots are filled in your area, volunteer to greet incoming voters and supply them with “palm cards” (or a similar handout) that identifies all the Republicans up and down the ballot. My husband, Hal, and I have been doing this for years, and we have found that most people who come to vote know who they want to vote for in SOME races, but many don’t realize that some of the “down ballot” races are even happening. There are some people who know EXACTLY who they want to vote for in EVERY race, but that is relatively rare. Most conservatives are friendly, open people, and they respond well to a question like, “May I show you some information about some of the down ballot races?” However, progressives/leftists/globalists tend to be cranky and negative, and some of them will answer a question like that in a very rude way. If this happens to you, just realize it’s not about you; it’s about the mind of the rude person who was just ugly to you, and you’ll be free of them as soon as they walk away, but they’ll be trapped inside their sick minds 24/7.

Most of us realize that massive fraud caused the 2020 election to be a complete train wreck. It was worse in some states than it was in others, but there was fraud everywhere. That’s totally unacceptable. Many good people are working on fixing it, but don’t expect all the corrections to be made by the midterms. If the cavalry comes charging in before the midterms, help them, but don’t count on that’s happening. Be prepared to be resolute and to do the most work you have ever done to insure a good outcome during the run up to the election and during the election itself.

One of the things you can do is to start attending your local Board of Elections’ meetings. That way, you can see the “playing field” develop. You will get a sense of who wants fair elections and who wants a myriad of opportunities to cheat. You can get the lay of the land, and that will serve you well.

These are the kinds of things that have the most immediate urgency, but there’s another area that also needs our attention because it’s so tragic. Our government run, public schools are a disaster. Students are not learning academic subjects. Students are being fed a negative view of themselves and of each other. They’re being taught about the most base human behavior. They’re being robbed of their innocence and subjected to child abuse. We’re the adults who pay for that. We’re the parents and grandparents who are allowing it to happen, or at least, we were. Now, there are more and more parents, grandparents, teachers, and other tax payers who are aware of what’s going on. There are candidates running for local Boards of Education who are determined to correct the situation, and they need our support! Give them money. Install a yard-sign on your front lawn. Attend Board of Education meetings so they’re not alone in the lion’s den. Ask them how you can help. We need to protect our youth WHILE we are fighting off our would-be oppressors. Yes, we CAN walk and chew chewing gum!

‘Smoking Gun’: Biden Admin Sued For Not Releasing Docs Declassified By Trump On Russia Collusion Investigation

Might it be that those are the documents the FBI hoped to find?

The article reports:

A watchdog is suing President Joe Biden’s Justice Department (DOJ) for not releasing records related to the FBI’s defunct probe into ties between Donald Trump’s campaign and the Russian government — even though the former president declassified the records.

Judicial Watch is suing the DOJ to obtain the records, as well as communications between DOJ officials and government employees on the declassification of the records. The lawsuit, which was filed on Aug. 1, comes after the conservative watchdog submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in February.

“The Obama-Biden Administration and Deep State spying on Trump and his associates is the worst government corruption scandal in American history,” Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said in a statement Monday. “And to make matters worse, the Biden DOJ simply refuses to release smoking gun documents about this corruption that the American people have an absolute right to see!”

Trump issued a memo on Jan. 19, 2021 declassifying materials in a binder that the DOJ gave to the White House in December 2020 on the “Crossfire Hurricane” probe. However, the binder’s materials never saw the light of day after the DOJ sought to issue redactions over privacy concerns, as detailed in a memo on Jan. 21, 2021 authored by then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who told the DOJ he would return the records.

The article concludes:

“Well, you know, the swamp is pretty deep,” said Meadows in a July interview on the records. “But when we look at this, this particular president was all about draining the swamp. When he was running, that was more of a campaign slogan. When he got there, he realized that not only was the swamp very deep, but they would fight back.”

Judicial Watch is asking the DOJ to pay its attorneys’ fees and other litigation records while also producing the records in relation to its FOIA request.

The DOJ did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did the FBI. A spokesman for Trump did not immediately respond.

The swamp is deep and wide, and there are still some real questions about who actually is a member of the swamp although pretending not to be.

However, El Salvador’s relationship with the United States changed with the arrival of President Joe Biden and is currently tense due to some decisions made by Bukele that have been criticized by the Biden Administration.

The U.S. State Department released a list on May 17, 2021, that labeled 17 Central American politicians, including current and former members of Bukele’s administration, as “corrupt.” The action seemingly prompted El Salvador’s congress to ratify a 2019 cooperation agreement with China — one of Washington’s top foes — the next day. El Salvador’s Congress ratified an economic cooperation agreement with Beijing on May 18, 2021, that was originally signed in 2019. The deal called for China’s government to invest $62 million in various infrastructure projects across El Salvador, including a water purification plant.

Bukele and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro both issued public statements in support of U.S. podcaster Joe Rogan on February 2. The two leaders expressed hope that Rogan would continue fighting for “freedom of the press” and “freedom of speech,” respectively, in America amid increased scrutiny of his podcasts from establishment media outlets.

And those are only some of the diplomatic accomplishments of the Biden administration.

Some Legal Perspective

The big news is the FBI’s illegal raid on Donald Trump’s home. The FBI broke the law in several ways. First, in order to execute a search warrant on documents that may be in a safe, police can only secure the safe. They exceeded their legal authority when they broke into the safe.
Secondly, the warrant only gave the FBI the authority to seize top-secret documents. They made no cursory review while at the President’s home, however, and therefore clearly retrieved documents that were outside of the scope of the subpoena. That was an invasion of the President’s rights and creates a constitutional crisis.
Third, The president has the ultimate authority on what is declassified and what needs to be sent to the US archives. He has no obligation to notify anybody of his decision. Therefore, when he packed the boxes and was still president he clearly indicated that what was going into the boxes was not something he considered sending to the archives. It was his decision alone. Nobody else has the constitutional authority to overrule him. Not even congress.
The bureaucrats are not in charge. In the USA, as in any uncorrupt republic, the elected officials are in charge.
This is a usurpation of power just like in the Obama administration, when the FBI helped the very corrupt Hillary Clinton try to steal that election.

I Think They Have A Quality Control Problem

When I was told that Toyota had recalled all of its bZ4X electric SUV’s, I assumed that there was some sort of problem with the battery. I assumed wrong. I don’t know how well the battery works, but that is somewhat insignificant if the wheels fall off.

Yesterday The Western Journal posted an article about the problem.

The article reports:

In June, Toyota warned buyers of its bZ4X electric SUV not to drive their vehicles for fear the wheels could fall off. Toyota said at the time the cause was a mystery, but it would look into the glitch.

Toyota has not yet found a solution to the problem and is offering to buy back the SUV from its owners, according to CNN.

“We know that our customers have many choices when it comes to purchasing a vehicle. We appreciate their loyalty and are supporting them through this recall,” Toyota said in a statement, according to The Verge. “However, if a customer does not want to proceed with the provided options, we will offer to repurchase their bZ4X.”

Plan B for owners who want to keep a vehicle they may never be able to drive is to have free use of another Toyota vehicle until such time as Toyota figures out what went wrong and how to fix it.

I shall continue to drive my rather aged Mustang convertible. It’s been years since a recall was issued on my car.

Searching For The Truth

On Saturday, Townhall posted an article about Americans and the Covid vaccine.

The article reports:

In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, UCLA Geffen School of Medicine Doctor Joseph Lapado and Yale School of Public Health Doctor Harvey Risch are sounding the alarm that there may be serious underestimated risks involved with the side effects of the Wuhan Coronavirus vaccine.

This comes as an independent pollster found that a significant number of Americans regret receiving the vaccine in the first place. 

10 percent of those vaccinated said they wish they hadn’t done so, while 15 percent of adults said they have been diagnosed with a new condition by a medical practitioner weeks or months after the first dose. 

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) authorized the poll two years after the first vaccine was rolled out. 

“The fact that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports more than 232 million Americans ages 18–65 have taken at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 15 percent of those surveyed report a newly diagnosed condition is concerning and needs further study,” Laura Bono, CHD’s executive director said. 

The article lists some of the medical problems encountered by those who received the vaccine– blood clots, disrupted menstrual cycles, heart attacks, strokes, lung clots and liver damage. About 10 percent of the people who experienced these problems said that the problems were severe.

The article concludes:

The Epoch Times reported that in May, hospitals saw an increase in cases of heart inflammation among patients. They also noted that the media has given more attention to cases of blood clots despite myocarditis being more common. 

Dr. Anthony Fauci also admitted that vaccine caused menstrual irregularities, saying that the issue is “temporary” and that they “need to study it more.”

I wish they had studied it more before they demanded that everyone take the shot or lose their job.

The Latest Excuse For The Low Workforce Participation Number

On Saturday, Breitbart posted an article about the Biden administration’s explanation for the drop in the Workforce Participate Rate in July. The explanation was about on a par with ‘the dog ate my homework.’

The article reports:

Claim: The decline in the labor force participation rate fell in July because fewer teenagers were working.

On Friday, after the Department of Labor’s jobs numbers showed that the labor force participation rate declined from 62.2 percent to 62.1 percent despite employers taking on 528,000 new workers, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that the decline as “about teenagers.”

The article includes a Fact Check of the claim that teenagers were at fault:

Verdict: False.

While the teenage participation rate did fall in July from a seasonally adjusted 36.6 to 35.8, this represented a decline in the number of teenagers in the labor for of 126,000. That contributed to the decline but it contributed less than the decline in the number of adult men in the labor force.
Men aged twenty and over saw their labor force participation rate decline from 70.1 to 69.9. While smaller in percentage terms than the teenage decline, it was larger in absolute terms because it represented a 183,000 decline in participation. As a result, grown men contributed more than teenagers to the decline in the participation rate. The data show that men aged twenty-five to thirty-four saw their labor force participation drop by 136,000, for a decline from 88.9 to 88.3.

If the Inflation Reduction Act becomes law, you can expect the Workforce Participation Rate to decline further.

Policies Have Consequences

On Sunday, NewsMax reported that New York City Police Department officers are leaving the force in droves.

The article reports:

It is a flashing alarm on how bad it is to be a New York City police officer amid rising crime after years of social unrest and calls to defund the police, the New York Post reported.

There have been 2,465 NYPD officers leaving this year to date, a 42% increase from the 1,731 that left by August last year, pension fund data shows.

More alarmingly, those leaving before reaching full pension at 20 years is up 71% (1,098) from this time last year (just 641).

Lynch took exception with the NYPD Chief of Department Kenneth Corey claiming the exodus is due to a large graduating class from the police academy.

“We have had retirement waves caused by large academy classes before — they were nothing like this,” Lynch told the post. “This exodus is the result of cops in the prime of their careers deciding they have had enough.

“The NYPD should stop trying to explain this staffing crisis away, admit there’s a problem and help us fix it.”

The New York Post article cited “anti-cop hostility, bail reform, rising crime,” and the now-paused vaccine mandate as the reasons for the mass resignations.

In July 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was quoted as inviting all policemen from other cities and states to come to Florida and work.

The Western Journal reported:

Republican Florida Gov. Ronald DeSantis welcomed police officers from other states to come and work in Florida on Monday, saying his state has a healthier work culture for law enforcement than others and will back the blue.

“If you have a chance to do law enforcement in Florida versus some of these other jurisdictions, you’re much better off in Florida because we’ll actually stand by law enforcement,” DeSantis said during a speech at Green Cove Springs, according to Florida Politics.

At some point, law and order in the cities where the police are not supported is going to disappear. That is already happening in some cities. Policies matter, and bad policies can negatively impact the quality of life for American citizens.
