Beware Of The Manipulative Press

I am not going to argue that Iran’s nuclear program needs to end abruptly. I am, however, going to point out some things the media is reporting that make me wonder exactly what is going on. This post will not be a conspiracy theory–it will simply be some information and some observations.

Yesterday, Just the News posted the following headline:

Bill Clinton’s once-secret cable to Iran a reminder Tehran’s terror killed hundreds of Americans

The article reminds us that “then-President Bill Clinton sent a cable that told Iran’s president a secret that the 42nd president wasn’t even willing to tell the American public: U.S. intelligence had ample evidence that Tehran was behind the deadly Khobar Towers terror attack.”

The article notes:

The communiqué, released decades later under the Freedom of Information Act, is a stark reminder of two realities that President Trump must review as he decides in the next few days whether to commit U.S. military action to Israel’s war on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

I am not arguing that this is fact–I am just questioning why it is being reported again now (I suspect it was reported at the time the communique was released.)

Yesterday, PJ Media reported:

In Tehran, Iranians are reportedly chanting enthusiastically about the anticipated fall of the “Islamic Republic” regime and the potential return of the Crown Prince, heir to the ancient throne of Persia.

While it is unclear exactly the extent of the damage Israel has inflicted on Iran and whether or not the current genocidal regime will fall because of it, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi confirmed that Iranian soldiers and officials have reached out to him, and he urged the Iranian people to rise up, announcing he already has a plan for renewing Iran should he come to power again.

Neither of these news sources is part of the mainstream media, although Just the News is not a conservative news source, PJ Media is. But I fear we are being manipulated into getting involved in the war between Israel and Iran. I have no problem supplying whatever is needed to Israel, but we need to work toward a quick solution–not another endless war.

I would like to remind you that the reign of the Shah of Iran was not all roses and sunshine. Iran was becoming westernized, but the excesses of the Shah laid the groundwork for the unrest that followed when he became ill. It is very possible that much of the current population of Iran does not remember those excesses. The median age of the Iranian population is 34 years. Remember that part of the reason for the takeover of the American Embassy was that the new government wanted the Shah returned so that they could kill him.

What is happening in Iran now is neither cut and dried or simple.

If We Can Hide The Evidence, It Didn’t Happen

On Tuesday, PJ Media posted an article about China’s meddling in the 2020 election.

The article reports:

There’s been a new, disturbing development in the case of the Chinese plot to interfere in the 2020 election. 

As PJ Media previously reported, on Monday, FBI Director Kash Patel handed Congress an intelligence report exposing a Chinese plot to interfere in the 2020 election. The report details how Chinese operatives mass-produced fake U.S. driver’s licenses to flood the system with fraudulent mail-in ballots, which helped Joe Biden in the process. However, the intel wasn’t investigated, corroborated, or acted on. In fact, it was quietly pulled from intelligence agencies even as then-FBI Director Chris Wray told Congress there were “no known plots” of foreign interference. 

Why hasn’t former FBI Director Chris Wray arrested for lying to Congress? Where is the S.W.A.T. team that was used to arrest Roger Stone?

The article continues:

The report was sent out on Aug. 24, 2020, but was abruptly recalled by the FBI with a vague excuse about needing to “re-interview” the source. But it didn’t stop there. The bureau didn’t just recall the report; it ordered its destruction.

According to the recall notice, intelligence agencies weren’t just asked to disregard the report — they were ordered to “destroy all copies” and “remove the original report from all computer holdings.” This wasn’t routine bureaucratic cleanup. It was a deliberate effort to wipe damning evidence from existence. The FBI didn’t just bury credible intelligence about Chinese election interference; it tried to scrub it from history. And now, years later, the truth is finally surfacing: the fix was in, and so was the cover-up. Deliberate. Coordinated. And chilling.

The article concludes:

This wasn’t some careless screw-up. This was a deliberate, calculated cover-up. The FBI didn’t just drop the ball — it went out of its way to bury explosive evidence of a foreign power trying to rig a U.S. presidential election. Instead of doing its job and protecting America’s election integrity, it chose to protect Biden’s campaign by destroying the very documents that exposed the truth. It lied to Congress, scrubbed the report, and tried to erase one of the biggest national security threats of our time from the record.

This isn’t just a scandal — it’s a betrayal of the highest order. And everyone involved in this disgraceful cover-up needs to be held accountable. The American people were cheated, not just at the ballot box, but by the very FBI that swore to safeguard our democracy. It’s time to stop pretending that this was anything less than a full-blown political operation disguised as law enforcement.

The Technology Behind The Success

Israel eliminated a lot of very important people in Iran recently. The head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami, was killed. Major General Mohammad Bagheri, who had served as the chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, was killed. Ali Shamkhani, who was a close aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC’s Air Force, was killed.

These leaders were successfully targeted with as little damage to Iranian civilians as possible. The precise targeting was a result of the Mossad’s strategic use of drone technology.

On Friday, PJ Media reported:

According to an Israeli official today, Israel built a drone base deep inside Iran as part of their preparations — and then unleashed them to deadly effect.

This is where I remind you that it’s only in the last two years or so that the deadly efficacy of drone warfare was proven beyond a doubt. In that short time, the IDF not only embraced it but smuggled a drone base into Iran — a tightly controlled dictatorship and presumably on high alert — then, on cue, launched those drones to destroy ballistic missile launchers before they could be used against Israel.

…There must have been soldiers on the ground to set everything up and launch the strike. Prayers, please, that they are or soon will be safely evacuated home.

Israeli intelligence was so effective — and apparently the Trump administration played along to avoid alerting Iran’s leadership — that Israel killed nearly a dozen high-level military commanders.

The article notes:

You see, the thing about Israeli intelligence is that it’s either the best or there is no Israel.

Last night showed, once again, that Israeli intelligence is the best.

Israel is not simply engaged in a casual military exercise. Israel is very aware that if Iran gets a nuclear weapon, Israel will no longer exist. They are not playing games–they are fighting for their survival as a nation.

Getting To The Root Of The Problem

On Sunday, PJ Media posted an article about the way the Trump administration is handling the riots in Los Angeles versus the way the Biden administration handled the ‘summer of love’ in 2020. To refresh your memory, Kamala Harris suggested that Americans send bail money to the rioters who were arrested. I suspect that President Trump will leave them in jail for a while.

The article reminds us:

Minneapolis, Portland, and Seattle all fell victim not just to angry mobs but to their own governors and mayors, too cowardly to stop them.

That year, Democrats cowered behind phrases like “mostly peaceful” as flames reached the heavens and lives were lost in the rubble. 

President Joe Biden, then hiding in his campaign basement, barely managed a weak whisper. 

He didn’t offer calm. 

He offered evasion.

Before she was selected for vice president, then-senator Kamala Harris offered to pay bail.

Now, in 2025, we sit on the edge of another long, hot summer. And already, the streets of Los Angeles have begun to rumble. 

The article concludes with the following observations:

Not Another Summer of Ash

The warning signs are here, with L.A. being the match point. 

But the message has already been sent: if you riot, you will be stopped. 

If you punch a cop, you will be arrested.

If you loot, you will be caught. 

If you burn, you will answer for it.

And that may be enough.

Because what the left misunderstood in 2020, and still doesn’t get in 2025, is that most Americans don’t want a revolution. 

They want predictability. 

They want their kids safe. 

They want their streets clean. 

They want to walk into a Walgreens without stepping over a junkie or dodging a flash mob.

Trump didn’t create this yearning. He simply heard it.

And now, he’s answering it.

Biden’s DOJ tried to block state border defenses. President Trump stepped in and restored order.

President Trump didn’t start the fire, but he will put it out!

A Chance For Peace In The Middle East

On Wednesday, Robert Spencer posted an article at PJ Media about President Trump’s meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The article reports:

On Wednesday morning, during his trip to Saudi Arabia, Trump met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who from 2017 until January of this year, was known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani. Al-Sharaa was the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the “Syrian Liberation Group,” a Sunni jihad group that had been linked to al-Qaeda and was working to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

In January 2025, HTS finally attained its goal. Assad fled to Russia. Al-Julani took control in Damascus and announced that he was establishing a regime that would respect the rights of all Syrians. He insisted that he had broken with al-Qaeda years before, and to signify that he was a new man, he shed his nom de guerre and reverted to his birth name. He trimmed his beard, took off his fatigues, and donned a suit.

…In many ways, Trump’s meeting with al-Sharaa is as momentous, and could be more momentous, than his first-term overtures to Kim Jong Un. The two meetings come from the same wellsprings: Trump is attempting to break longstanding logjams and end the status quo that the foreign policy establishment, both inside the U.S. and elsewhere, had come to take for granted.

…So Trump wants to make peace with old foes based on mutual economic interests. He is giving al-Sharaa a chance to demonstrate that he really is no longer a jihadi and wants to build a stable and prosperous Syria. It could happen. The global jihad, although it is ignored everywhere, continues nevertheless. It never goes away. Individuals and states, however, can and do put it aside for considerable periods in order to pursue other interests.

The article concludes:

Nevertheless, Trump’s attempt to create peace based on common interests and move beyond the present logjam is as welcome as it is audacious. Once again, Trump appears to be way ahead of everyone else, as he was when he established the Abraham Accords even as John Kerry was confidently telling the world that such a thing was impossible.

The establishment will howl at Trump’s meeting; that’s only to be expected. The president, meanwhile, is moving ahead with astonishing vision, immense confidence, and considerable imagination. The peace and stability of the Middle East, and of the entire world, are riding upon his success.

President Trump is essentially saying to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, “Put up, or shut up.” I have no doubt that continuing on the path of murdering Syrians that oppose the regime or aligning with terrorist forces in the Middle East will have dire consequences for Syria. This is their chance to become a successful and prosperous country.

Jurisdiction Matters

When President Trump returned to the White House, he didn’t just get to work cleaning up Joe Biden’s mess—he set his sights on dismantling decades of entrenched bureaucratic bloat, waste, and corruption. With a relentless series of executive orders and policy directives, Trump reignited his mission to drain the swamp—this time with laser precision and zero patience for the status quo.

Predictably, the left went into full-blown panic mode. Liberal legal groups immediately launched a barrage of lawsuits, cherry-picking friendly courts in a shameless attempt to stall Trump’s agenda. They’re terrified of losing control over the bloated regulatory state they’ve used for years to push policies they could never pass through Congress.

But that strategy just hit a major roadblock. In a landmark ruling on Saturday, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals handed the Trump administration a decisive legal victory—one that could fundamentally change how activist judges and forum-shopped cases interfere with executive authority. 

“This is a huge victory for President Trump and his Article II powers granted in the United States Constitution. It’s also a victory for US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and VOA,” Kari Lake told Fox News Digital. Lake now serves as a USAGM senior advisor to the Trump administration. “We are eager to accomplish President Trump’s America First agenda which has always been to modernize and make our government efficient while cutting waste, fraud, and abuse.”

The appeals court’s 2-1 ruling Saturday emphasized the judiciary’s deference to executive authority in matters concerning federal employment and contractual decisions.

The court noted that the district court likely lacked jurisdiction to interfere with the administration’s personnel actions and funding decisions, particularly regarding grant agreements with non-federal entities like Radio Free Asia and the Middle East Broadcasting Networks.

This ruling  Trump’s March 14 executive order (EO), which aimed to dismantle USAGM operations.

The article at PJ Media concludes:

The significance of this decision extends far beyond these specific cases—it establishes clear jurisdictional parameters that could affect dozens of pending lawsuits against Trump administration policies. While the administration won’t prevail in every case, this ruling suggests courts may need to more carefully consider their jurisdictional authority before issuing sweeping injunctions against executive actions.

The D.C. Circuit Court just handed Trump a game-changing victory that will help him clean house in 2025.

Let’s hope that this is the first of many good decisions by the courts.

On Saturday, PJ Media posted an article about a case that will be argued before the Supreme Court on May 15th. Generally, the Supreme Court does not hear cases in May.

The article reports:

The U.S. Supreme Court is preparing to weigh in on one of the most significant legal power plays in recent memory: whether individual federal trial judges can continue issuing nationwide injunctions that derail national policy. The high court’s move could mark a turning point in the Trump administration’s effort to rein in what it sees as activist judges stifling the will of the elected government.

John Yoo, a law professor at UC Berkeley and former Justice Department official, broke down the issue during an appearance on Fox News, where he explained the gravity of the situation and why the Supreme Court is now stepping in.

“This is about who controls all those… and there’s about 675 federal trial judges spread out all over the country,” Yoo said. “And some of them have been bringing the federal government, bringing President Trump’s agenda to a screeching halt, even though they don’t have anybody, say, who works for the government or any of the illegal aliens or any of the spending in their own courtrooms.”

In recent years, liberal activists have filed lawsuits in strategically chosen jurisdictions where they know they’ll find a sympathetic judge. The result? Leftist district judges, with no direct connection to the underlying policy or parties involved, have been able to issue injunctions blocking Trump administration directives nationwide—from immigration enforcement to federal spending priorities.

The important quote in the article:

“Whether you agree or disagree with President Trump’s order on birthright citizenship,” Yoo said, “they may not even get to the question, because the key thing here is for the Supreme Court to put an end to the 675 trial judges who all think they can run foreign policy, spending and hiring throughout the federal government.”

Moving Left While The Voters Move Toward The Center

There is a political divide in America. There is also a political divide in the Democrat party. There are some Democrats who quietly support ending government waste and ending open borders, and there are some Democrats that want to continue to failed policies of President Biden and President Obama. Unfortunately, the party seems to have chosen to move further left, away from its base, rather than moving toward the center. The Democrats are no longer the party of the working man. They are the party of people traveling in private jets railing at the oligarchy and wanting to ‘tax the rich.’

On Wednesday, PJ Media reported:

…There’s been a slow-moving coup… but nobody’s noticed!

It’s tied to the larger political realignment nationally: Under the MAGA banner, the GOP has evolved into the party of the working man. The Bush-era days of country club conservatives has come and gone (assuming the club isn’t Mar-a-Lago, of course). We’ve gone from Wall Street to Main Street.

But the Democratic Party is realigning, too.

Liberals are frothing in furious rage — and not only at Republicans. A record number have lost faith in the Democratic Party. Its favorability has never been this dismal. Liberals are begging — pleading — for new leaders and a new direction. Even in New York, 53% of Democrats want to fire the Democrats’ Senate leader… who is FROM New York. (Sorry, Chuck Schumer.) This isn’t normal behavior.

There’s never been a better time for an outsider to seize control.

Our first big story is the Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) whistlestop tour with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). (In honor of Bernie Sanders, I hereby dub it the B.S. tour.) Although they’ve been generating headlines for the size of their enormous crowds — even in ruby-red districts — that’s not the most meaningful part.

There’s a consensus forming amongst their supporters: They want to go to war.

Liberals are demanding to be represented by a fighter. Among Democratic voters, an overwhelming majority — 72% — want someone “more aggressive” to battle Trump. Less than a third (28%) sought a “moderate” approach.

The liberal base will choose the most aggressive, fiery liberal candidate. Moderates need not apply.

The article notes that David Hogg, the current Vice-Chairman of the Democrat party, is planning to primary any moderate Democrat currently in office. The goal is a radical Democrat party with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as its leader. It will be interesting to see how the voters react to this.

The Death Of USAID

On Monday, PJ Media posted an article about the death of USAID. The death of USAID may not actually be official, but its money is being taken away.

The article reports:

Whatever USAID was or wasn’t meant to be when President John F. Kennedy created the program by executive order in 1961, it effectively is no more.

Wall Street Mav reported on Sunday that the White House intends to “eliminate roughly $60 billion in foreign aid spending and terminate 92% of grants issued by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).”

“The figures were included in a State Department memo detailing the results of a 90-day review of US foreign aid ordered by President Trump,” which identified “nearly 15,000 grants and targeted almost 10,000 for elimination — the majority of which were issued by USAID.”

Before you get too upset over the humanitarian aid that may be cut, you might want to look at where the money has actually gone in the past.

The article notes:

Of the $4 billion earmarked for Haiti, almost half of it never went much farther than the D.C. beltway. More than half went to “other.” About 2% went to Haitian firms. Six houses were built.

There’s a case to be made that charitable people like us should help feed the hungry and provide disaster relief to those who can’t afford it. But USAID ain’t it.

The article also notes:

Back in 1988, George Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF) helped establish the East-West Management Institute (EWMI). Exactly how isn’t well understood, so I asked both Grok and ChatGPT to look into it for me. Neither LLM was able to come up with much but they both described the relationship as “opaque.”

Fine, whatever — Soros can do what he wants with his money. Except that over the last decade or two, EWMI received an estimated $270 million in tax money, largely through USAID, with another $90 million on tap. What does EWMI do with your money? That’s none of your business. Your tax dollars go — or rather, went — to a Soros organization that does what Soros wants. You just get to pay

Giving money to billionaires to thwart the popular will in this country hardly sounds like “international development” to me. Unless, that is, you’re talking about the postmodern version of “international Communism.”

Somehow I don’t expect to see any of this reported in the mainstream media.

Moving Quickly To Improve Things

Kash Patel was sworn in as FBI Director last week. He is already making his presence known.

On Friday, PJ Media reported:

Newly confirmed FBI Director Kash Patel is on fire. After his swearing-in, he gave a not-so-subtle speech, showing that he’s ready to handle the media’s smears.

“I know the media’s in here, and if you have a target, that target’s right here,” he said, pointing to himself. “It’s not the men and women at the FBI.”

…He wasted no time turning his bold rhetoric into action. Following his blistering speech on Friday, he ordered the transfer of 1,500 agents and staff from the bureau’s Washington, D.C., headquarters to field offices across the country.

Roughly 1,000 will be sent to high-crime cities that the Trump administration designated, where they can focus on fighting crime instead of political games. Another 500 will be reassigned to Huntsville, Ala., which is widely seen as D.C.’s version of exile.

Getting FBI agents out of Washington and into the rest of America makes sense. They are needed to aid local and state law enforcement. We have a drug epidemic in this country and a crime epidemic that goes along with that. Let’s get the FBI out of the office and on the street helping local law enforcement.

Where Did The Money Go?

On Monday, PJ Media posted an article about all of the money flowing into Ukraine from American taxpayers. It seems that nearly $100 billion is missing. This might be worth looking into.

The article reports:

Despite the alleged critical nature of this aid, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims that Ukraine has only seen about $76 billion in tangible aid even though the Biden administration authorized around $175 billion to support his war-torn nation. 

Zelenskyy’s recent remarks regarding U.S. aid raise eyebrows and call into question where the massive sums of money supposedly allocated to Ukraine have actually gone. This discrepancy should make anyone sit up and take notice.

“When I hear—both in the past and even now—from the U.S. that America has provided Ukraine with hundreds of billions, as the president of a nation at war, I can tell you – we’ve received more than $75 billion,” Zelenskyy said. “We’re talking about tangible things because this aid didn’t come as cash but rather as weapons, which amounted to about $70 billion.”

It gets worse.

“But when it’s said that Ukraine received $200 billion to support the army during the war – that’s not true. I don’t know where all that money went,” Zelenskyy said. “Perhaps it’s true on paper with hundreds of different programmes – I won’t argue, and we’re immensely grateful for everything. But in reality, we received about $76 billion. It’s significant aid, but it’s not $200 billion.”

The article notes:

Zelenskyy mused that perhaps some of the missing funds have been funneled into humanitarian programs he barely knows about. “Perhaps the U.S. President’s administration will audit these programmes and find additional billions.”

I’m not particularly confident in this. An analysis from the American Enterprise Institute last year found that nearly 70% of U.S. aid intended for Ukraine actually funneled back into domestic spending, not to the front lines in Ukraine. Ask yourself why this would happen that way. Was it so the Biden administration could redirect money to wherever it wanted without congressional oversight? 

It does feel eerily reminiscent of the Obama administration’s slush fund scandal, where his DOJ allowed corporate settlements to direct funds to left-wing non-profits and organizations, effectively sidestepping congressional oversight. The Trump administration put an end to this practice to enhance accountability in the use of taxpayer dollars, only for Biden to reinstate it on his first day in office. 

Let’s do an audit on all of the money sent to Ukraine. The results might be very interesting.

This Was Definitely Part Of The Problem

We have had two serious plane crashes in the past several days. In recent years, we have seen very few plane crashes. What changed?

On Friday, PJ Media posted an article that cites something that might be part of the problem.

The article reports:

On Thursday, while addressing Thursday’s plane crash near Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump blasted both the Obama and Biden administrations for prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation.

“I put safety first. Obama, Biden, and the Democrats put policy first, and they put politics at a level that nobody’s ever seen,” Trump told reporters in the White House briefing room.

Democrats and the mainstream media were outraged.

“It’s one thing for internet pundits to spew up conspiracy theories,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said. “It’s another for the president of the United States of America to throw out idle speculation even as victims are still being recovered and families are still being notified. It turns your stomach.”

But Trump was not wrong.

…Last year, 11 Republican attorneys general voiced their concerns in a letter to FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker, questioning the agency’s commitment to safety in light of its emphasis on diversity over expertise. They expressed disappointment that the FAA appeared to prioritize “virtue-signaling” over securing the nation’s airways.

The article includes a quote from an editorial that appeared in The Washington Times on February 1, 2024:

There hasn’t been a fatal airline crash in the United States since 2009, but it’s only a matter of time before the streak ends. The FAA recorded two serious, near-miss runway incursions at Reagan National and Baltimore-Washington International last year [2023].

Vigilance is waning because the nation’s air traffic control towers are woefully understaffed. The people responsible for keeping planes from smashing into one another are tired after working long, mandatory overtime shifts to make up for the lack of controllers.

Contributing to the shortage, the FAA temporarily put the brakes on hiring in 2012 so it could replace race-blind hiring rules with a “Biographical Assessment” stratagem designed to hire more minorities.

This quiz served as further screening of applicants who had already graduated from a 200-hour training program and achieved high scores on AT-SAT, a grueling, eight-hour cognitive test that measures each of the specific skills needed to do the job properly.

More than 3,000 top-performing, motivated applicants lost out because they weren’t members of this ethnic club. After Congress forced the FAA to drop the quiz in 2018, many former applicants reapplied and have since become controllers. Their careers were set back several years for no good reason.

You can’t solve a problem if you are unwilling to identify it. Hopefully, the Trump administration can restaff our control towers quickly and make the skies safe again.

Gaslighting At Its Best

President Biden’s pardons caused a bit of controversy. The concept of preemptive pardons is rather unique. However, the Democrats’ and the media’s response to the preemptive pardons is interesting.

On Wednesday, PJ Media posted an article about Senator Warren’s explanation of why President Biden had to issue the preemptive pardons.

The article reports:

..But at some point, Anderson Cooper asked her about the familial pardons Joe Biden issued about 15 minutes before leaving the White House and heading off to Shady Pines or wherever they sent him. 

“The last-minute pardons by then President Biden to his family members, you know there were pardons earlier this morning which were reported on, but these last-minute pardons, he chose to, I mean, make it last minute when there wouldn’t be as much attention, obviously, and they wouldn’t kind of overshadow the ride to the capitol — was that a mistake?” Cooper asked. 

Initially, Warren replied with a simple statement: “The president — President Biden — should answer for himself.”  

Fair enough. But she couldn’t leave it at that. Not only did she not leave it for Biden to “answer for himself,” but she also went on to blame someone else for these sneaky, last-minute pardons: Donald Trump. 

Warren explained that poor Biden is just a kind-hearted old family man who had no choice but to make these pardons out of fear that Trump might try to use his sweet little family against him just because Trump doesn’t like him. 

The media and the political left seem to forget that President Trump has been in office before. During his time in office, he did not use the Justice Department to go after his political enemies–that is something President Biden did.

There is, however, a new twist in the story. President Biden did not pardon himself, and there are reports of a $240,000 bank deposit going directly to him with no explanation. This could get interesting.

Who Is Pulling The Strings?

On January 21st, PJ Media reported the following:

One of Donald Trump’s first acts as president was to commute the sentences of or pardon nearly every single Jan. 6 prisoner, setting them all free. But multiple prisons and halfway houses have resisted complying, with the D.C. gulag holding multiple prisoners hostage and refusing to release them.

Trump’s historic order commuted the sentences of about a dozen individuals and pardoned “all individuals convicted of offenses related to event that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.” It ordered that those “currently held in prison are released immediately.” But the thugs who have so abused and trampled the rights of the J6ers under the Biden-Harris administration for four years are defying the law one last time. J6ers and friends reported prisons and halfway houses across America slow-rolling prisoners’ releases, and the infamous Washington, D.C., jail nicknamed the Gulag flat out refused to release multiple J6 hostages.

Even Elon Musk responded to families’ pleas, resharing a message urging them to bring Trump‘s pardon with them to the prison and requesting to be notified if they continued to encounter resistance in the release of their loved ones.

One prisoner reported on the events:

Early Tuesday morning, Lang (Jake Lang) posted an update: “Hey @elonmusk they are STILL HOLDING me & 20 other J6 Political Prisoners hostage inside the Washington DC Jail Gulag & WONT LET US LEAVE!!!” He reiterated the accusation of assault. “I was swarmed & assaulted by prison officials including Lt. Allen & his Emergency Response Team (ERT) Thugs last night while sitting all packed up to leave!!!! Our were families are standing outside in below freezing 10° weather until 1am when they released 2 hostages, there are still 20 of us in here!!! [sic]”

The article concludes:

This is completely unacceptable and illegal. Prison authorities are openly defying presidential pardons and orders. This is one more disgusting and shameful illustration of how abusive, dishonest, biased, and vindictive our prison system is in America now. Biden pardoned or commuted the sentences of literal murderers, Chinese spies, and pedophiles, but when Trump pardons innocent patriots, the jails hold them hostage.

All those involved in preventing the release need to be charged with a crime and arrested.

An Interesting Inauguration Gift

On Saturday, PJ Media reported that a federal appeals court has declared DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) unlawful. We all knew that. I am not sure why it has taken so long for the courts to reach that decision. However, there is another side of the story. I personally know of a young (9 or 10) child who was brought here by her mother in the 1990’s. The child quickly became acclimated to America and never really progressed past third-grade level or so in her native language. That child is in her forties now and would probably be lost in her native country. There are many children like that. She has become a citizen and is a contributing member of society. Sending someone like her who has not become a citizen back to a country they don’t know would be cruel. However, if they decide to stay in America, they should be barred from receiving government benefits. That would encourage many people who are here illegally of every age to consider voluntarily returning to their home countries.

I would suggest that all illegals who were brought here by their parents and are currently under the age of 25 should be returned to their home countries along with their parents. The reason I chose that age is that unless they came here as babies, they probably have the language and cultural skills they need to return to their home country. If they are over 25, they probably are more American than anything else. I don’t think there is a really fair solution to this problem, but this might be a humane one.

A federal appeals court on Friday declared the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration policy unlawful, casting a cloud of uncertainty over more than half a million unauthorized immigrants brought to the U.S. as children ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

A panel of judges before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit upheld a lower court ruling that found that a Biden administration rule to codify DACA violated U.S. immigration law. The 2012 Obama administration memo that originally created the policy has also been found to be unlawful by federal courts.

Unfortunately, there’s a bit of a catch. According to the article, “the panel of judges kept DACA alive for current recipients and closed to new applicants.”

The ruling is nevertheless long overdue. For over 12 years, DACA has granted hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who came here illegally or overstayed their visas as minors the ability to live and work here without fear of deportation.

As I mentioned above, even Obama knew the program was illegal.

“Comprehensive [immigration] reform, that’s how we’re going to solve this problem,” Obama said in 2010. “Anybody who tells you it’s going to be easy or that I can wave a magic wand and make it happen hasn’t been paying attention to how this town works.”

It wasn’t the only time he said so, either. However, when the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act failed to pass Congress, Obama did, in fact, wave his executive pen and just created the program via executive fiat.

This is one of many very complicated messes that President Trump is going to be expected to clean up. Most of them have been caused by judges and others refusing to obey and defend the U.S. Constitution.

What Constitution?

Remember the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)? Well, as he leaves office, President Biden is proclaiming that the ERA is the law of the land and is part of the Constitution. Wow! Who knew!

On Saturday, PJ Media reported the following:

Remember the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)? It’s back, and Old Joe Biden, trying to do as much damage to the nation as he can before he slouches off to his taxpayer-funded Delaware beach house for good on Monday, now says that it’s the law of the land. What’s that? You didn’t notice that we suddenly have a new Constitutional amendment? Well, we may not, but on Friday, Old Joe’s joyful announcement that the amendment was a done deal added an eggbeater to already troubled waters.

The ERA was a central preoccupation of the 1970s when the outgoing figurehead was just beginning his storied career as a leftist prevaricator, character assassin (see Clarence Thomas for details), and premier corruptocrat in the United States Senate. Feminists bombarded Americans with propaganda slogans including “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle” and “A woman’s place is in the House… and the Senate.”

But when Congress approved the ERA on March 22, 1972, it set a deadline of seven years for the necessary three-fourths of the states to approve it. That deadline came and went on March 22, 1979, with only 35 states approving of the amendment. Thirty-eight were needed, so that was that. In 2017, however, as the #MeToo movement was cresting, Nevada became the 36th state to approve the ERA, with Illinois following in 2018 and Virginia in 2020.

So the amendment was over the line, with just one problem: the seven-year deadline had passed over forty years before Virginia ratified the thing. Even before Virginia ratified the ERA, Alabama, Louisiana, and South Dakota tried to head off its post-deadline passage, filing a federal lawsuit in 2019 to stop any other states from ratifying the amendment.

This is the statement from President Biden:

On January 27, 2020, the Commonwealth of Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. The American Bar Association (ABA) has recognized that the Equal Rights Amendment has cleared all necessary hurdles to be formally added to the Constitution as the 28th Amendment. I agree with the ABA and with leading legal constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution.

It passed all of the hurdles except being in compliance with the Constitution. That is a problem. There is no way this becomes the 28th Amendment unless the process begins again with a seven-year deadline.

What Happens When You Enforce The Law

On December 27th, PJ Media posted an article about crimes against women in Argentina. After closing Argentina’s women’s ministry last year, the country has seen a 10% reduction in the murder rate of women.

The article reports:

2024 saw a 10% increase in un-murdered women even though the defunct ministry had an Undersecretariat of Special Programmes against Gender-based Violence, if you can imagine such a thing. The since-fired Undersecretariat must be incredibly disappointed to learn that her job had been phony-baloney all along.

What did happen after Milei closed the Ministry was that he also adopted a tough-on-crime posture. According to a translation of Milei’s announcement, “The decrease is attributed to a zero-tolerance policy on violent offenders, not bureaucratic spending or activist-driven initiatives.” By some stroke of luck, cracking down on crime resulted in less crime. Lefties worldwide are scratching their heads at the news. 

Various reports refer to a “Ministry of Women,” but that’s not technically correct. 

Argentina used to have a National Institute for Women — a department so vital to the functioning of government, democracy, and women that it was only founded in 2017. Two years later, it received a major upgrade to the Ministry of Women, Genders, and Diversity.

The article concludes:

So how does a nation get a National Institute for Women Plus Inevitable Expensive Upgrades, anyway?

It goes something like this — and I think you’ll find the process familiar:

    • Ambitious Politician: We’ve got to do something to save women from murderers!
    • Normal Skeptic: That could be worthwhile. Depends on what you have in mind.
    • AP: I’m going to establish a National Institute for Women.
    • NS: What will the institute do?
    • AP: It will spend a crap-ton of money on bureaucrats and functionaries in a fancy building!
    • NS: How will they, you know, actually protect women from murderers?
    • AP: WHY DO YOU WANT WOMEN TO DIE?
    • Congress: Here’s eleventy billion dollars.

Milei understands that the way to stop killers is with local law enforcement, not an expensive, feel-good, do-nothing national bureaucracy. 

There’s a lesson here for this country, too. We have a Department of Education that spends eleventy billion dollars each year to micromanage the decline of what used to be the finest public education system in the world. You can’t reform these ministries, departments, or bureaus.

You’ve got to take a chainsaw to them.

I hope the DOGE people are learning from this!

The New Republican Party

At least for the moment, there is a new Republican party. It is not the party of the wealthy elite (that currently describes the Democrat party), but it is the party of the average American. On Wednesday, PJ Media posted an article about the new demographics of the Republican party.

The article reports:

In 2016, roughly 87% of Trump voters were white. But in 2024, nearly one in five Trump voters were black, Latino, Native American, or “people of color.”

The media were flabbergasted.

After all, the Democrats did everything they could to disrupt Trump’s momentum with minorities: They called him Hitler. They called him a racist. They called him a fascist. They called him a white supremacist.

But throughout all their hysterical name-calling, they overlooked one important thing: Illegal immigration was disproportionately injuring non-white Americans.

If you’re a rich white liberal, illegal immigration is a net positive. Hey, you got a nanny, a gardener, a pool guy, and a handyman for pennies on the dollar! And if you’re a business owner, illegal immigration is a cheap form of manual labor. 

What’s not to love?

Unfortunately, if you’re a young man or young woman who’s still struggling to make ends meet, you’re feeling the effects of illegal immigration directly: Under Biden’s watch, there were over 8 million “migrant encounters.” (The actual number of illegal immigrants in America is still up for debate.) 

Well, guess what? Those millions of people need to live somewhere. And if you’re getting pummeled by the spiraling costs of rentals and/or homeownership, you’re smart enough to recognize there’s a cause-and-effect correlation here.

The single most common, most universal mistake in the marketing world is marketing to yourself. Businesses do it all the time: They assume their biases and core beliefs are the same as everyone else and then go “Surprised Pikachu” when their marketing message fails to land.

Almost every American is feeling the results of President Biden’s economic and open-border policies. These policies have had a detrimental effect on Americans in all ethnic groups. It is no wonder that these groups voted against the authors of these policies.

Unfortunately, This Is Necessary

On Saturday, PJ Media posted an article about what the political left has been doing to lawyers who work for President Trump and the solution to their intimidation tactics.

The article reports:

You’d think that there might be an ethical issue running ads that threaten the careers of any lawyers if they work for Donald Trump, but this is the state of play in 2024 in the Democrats’ Lavrentiy Beria political police state. Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime. Rules of propriety are for you, not for us.

Those ads, which you can see here, are running in swing states online and in legal journals in this election—in effect promising the personal destruction of anyone who touches the Trump campaign.

America First Legal has given the director of The 65 Project, Michael Teter, a taste of his own medicine and filed a bar complaint against him in the state of Utah, where he’s licensed. America First is filing the complaint on behalf of Stefan Passantino, who represented Cassidy Hutchison after Jan. 6. 

Teter’s name may be familiar to you. He pulled this “sure would be a shame” stunt in 2020. He’s the Media Matters and David Brock-blessed lawyer behind the Dominion lawsuit against Fox News, and he was Ray Epps’s attorney, the curious Jan. 6 “Fed! Fed! Fed!” who whispered into the ear of an alleged pro-Trump actor standing outside the Capitol Building barricades, and seconds later, the assault on the barricades began. Teter filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox on Epps’s behalf. 

The article concludes:

America First Legal said of its bar complaint against Teter that his objective of “seeking the personal destruction and financial ruin of another lawyer – simply because of the client he represented or the cause he took up – runs counter to… the letter and spirit of the law governing the activities of lawyers,” according to Reuters.

That’s exactly what it sounds like. And that’s why it should be stopped. Maybe getting a taste of their own medicine will do just that. 

Lawyers who have chosen to ignore integrity in their practice of the law have done a lot of serious damage to this country.

When Your Advice And Actions Backfire

On Friday, PJ Media posted an article explaining how the Obama-Biden-Harris foreign policy of enriching Iran may have actually helped Israel. Because of the large amounts of money freed up for Iran and the loosening of sanctions of Iran, Iran was able to increase its terrorist funding and terrorist activity in the Middle East. That increase was noticed by its Sunni Arab neighbors. That increase probably paved the way for the Abraham Accords. The article reminds us that President Biden was giving advice to Prime Minister Netanyahu during the period after October 7, 2023, and Prime Minister Netanyahu was wisely ignoring that advice. The article notes that President Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy issue since he has been in public life. The war in Israel is no exception.

The article reports:

Kamala Harris might’ve said that Iran is America’s greatest enemy, but the trio of Obama-Biden-Harris did more to strengthen Iran than any U.S. presidents since the overthrow of the Shah. From secretly sending planes with hundreds of millions of dollars to Tehran to sending over a BILLION+ more (in untraceable cash, no less), they were the financial pipeline that kept the mullahs in power. Most remarkably, this Unholy Trinity actually spearheaded a plan to legalize the Iranian nuclear weapon program!

In fact, under the original deal, the sanctions restricting Iran’s centrifuge usage would have expired in 2026, and by 2031, so would the limits on the amount of uranium Iran is allowed to develop and use. (But Iran pinky-swears they’ll be good.)

Basically, Obama-Biden-Harris planned to allow Iran to get their nukes… but to make sure it happened when someone else was in office.

The trio’s utter ineptitude is absolutely astounding.

But here’s where things go full circle: This trio is so amazingly inept, sometimes their backfires backfire — and you get the best possible result. It’s sort of the reverse version of Murphy’s Law.

With this in mind, I’d like to THANK Obama-Biden-Harris for helping Israel make peace with the Arabs.

Because if they hadn’t worked so hard to strengthen Iran, the Abraham Accords never would’ve happened under Trump. Israel never would’ve made peace with Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Nor would they be partnering logistically and militarily with Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Oman. Nor would they be on the verge of peace with most of the Sunni world.

The Obama-Biden-Harris Triumvirate strengthened Iran so dramatically that it actually scared the Sunni world into siding with the Zionists!

Perhaps this wasn’t ineptitude. Perhaps it was all deliberate and was the greatest example of 4-D chess in geopolitical history. But c’mon, folks: The is Obama-Biden-Harris we’re talking about. It was definitely, 100% ineptitude.

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally!

The Link Between Hamas And The United Nations

On Thursday, PJ Media reported the following:

The United Nations frenziedly condemned a new Israel Defense Forces (IDF) strike as one of Israel’s “dramatic violations of international humanitarian law.” The problem is that the UN workers killed were also Hamas terrorists.

The UN and many other organizations and governments love to emphasize that the IDF strikes schools and “aid workers.” What they are not telling you is that Hamas jihadis have long used schools and other “civilian” buildings in Gaza as terrorist bases and that the “aid workers” almost always turn out to be active terrorists. That appears to be the case once again with the IDF strike this week, where at least three UNRWA “workers” killed were Hamas jihadis.

UNRWA is absolutely infested with Hamas operatives, according to international human rights lawyer Hillel Neuer. As JihadWatch has noted, terrorists specifically place military targets in humanitarian zones so that, if IDF strikes, they can immediately condemn Israel. So whenever the UN starts wailing that the IDF causelessly killed their humanitarian workers while they were operating a school or shelter, always fact-check that claim. It will almost certainly turn out to be false.

According to the state of Israel, which is a more reliable source on these topics than is the Hamas-loving UN, so far the confirmed casualties in the precision strike are terrorists — including at least three UNRWA “workers.”

As long as Hamas is using human shields, there will be ‘civilian’ casualties. However, a lot of these ‘civilians’ support Hamas. Private homes have tunnel entrances; Hamas members work for so-called humanitarian organizations to bring ‘aid’ into Gaza. It doesn’t seem to matter to those providing the aid that the money and supplies are used to strengthen Hamas and build more tunnels.

The United Nations began with a dream of world peace. Instead of working toward that dream, they have become a hotbed of corruption and and a supporter of terrorists and terrorism. It’s time to kick the United Nations out of New York City and turn their building into luxury apartments!

A New Venture For Big Brother

On Sunday, PJ Media reported that the California legislature has passed a bill that will require all cars built after 2030 to give a beep when the driver exceeds the speed limit by 10 MPH. Speeding would not only be considered a violation of the law–it would be considered a crime. Considering all of the things that are not crimes in California, this is an amazing law. (Shoplifting is defined under California’s penal code as “entering a commercial establishment with intent to commit larceny while that establishment is open during regular business hours, where the value of the property that is taken or intended to be taken does not exceed $950.” It is considered a misdemeanor and carries a possible penalty of up to six months in jail or a fine of up to $1,000.) And the state wants to make speeding a crime?

The article reports:

As introduced, Weiner’s bill would have made “every passenger vehicle, motortruck, and bus manufactured or sold in the state” of the 2027 model year and beyond unable to drive more than 10 miles per hour above the limit. 

Ultimately, Wiener relented and amended the bill in April. Given that modern seatbelt alarms require “repetitive, successive, or ongoing warnings each time a vehicle exceeds the speed threshold,” Californian drivers have reason to be grateful that such alarms are merely not precluded in the current bill. They also have reason to regard the bill as superfluous.

The most popular phone-based navigation apps, Google Maps, (Apple) Maps, and Waze include visual and auditory signals when drivers go over the speed limit whatsoever. Still, speed signals are optional on these apps, and not everybody is as dependent on Google Maps and CarPlay.

My car has a 6-CD player and a Garmin. I have no idea what these other things are. If this bill is passed in California, it will eventually be passed in other places. This is one more reason to ad to my list of never buying a new car!

 

 

A Ridiculous Solution To A Serious Problem

On Saturday, PJ Media posted an article about Germany’s plan to change their policy of knife possession following a number of ‘knife incidents’ in their country.

The article reports:

After a Syrian illegal immigrant attacked and killed three people and wounded eight attending a diversity festival in the town of Solingen, Germany on August 23. Chancellor Olaf Scholz vowed to do something about it.

There were 13,844 “knife crime” incidents in Germany in 2023. So, naturally, Olaf decided the culprit was the knife. Since you can’t put a knife on trial or put a blade in jail, Scholz decided on the next best thing; knife control.

As silly as that sounds, it’s going to happen in Germany.

Current law allows an individual to carry a knife up to 7″ long. Scholz wants to change the statute to allow individuals to carry knives only 2.4 inches long. Germany still won’t be able to put knives on trial or jail knives and make them pay for their crimes. But at least Scholz is “doing something about the problem.”

In addition to knife control, Scholz is also going to limit benefits available to illegal immigrants. German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser says the suspect in the knife attack, Issa Al H., was scheduled to be deported to Bulgaria where he first arrived in the European Union.

“The entire process… must be examined, must be made more effective, so that we can deport people more quickly,” Justice Minister Buschmann said Thursday.

Limiting benefits to illegal immigrants is actually a wise move. Changing the length of the knife is not really going to make a difference. Anything can be a weapon. In 2010, I posted an article about the British Pubs introducing a new shatterproof pint glass because the previous pint glasses were consistently being broken over the bar and used as weapons. In Germany (and in America’s future), the problem is importing large numbers of people from places with totally different cultures who are not assimilating into the culture. Because they have not assimilated, these immigrants tend to be economically challenged and angry when they can’t find work. It is a recipe for disaster. Hungary seems to be one of the few European countries that has recognized the problem and dealt with it.

Not Surprising

On Friday, PJ Media posted an article about the misuse of Covid funds by the state of Minnesota. Minnesota was not the only state to misuse those funds, but since their Governor is running for Vice-President, it is interesting to see what he did with the money.

The article reports:

Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) spent money using pandemic relief funds that could have easily come from the state’s general budget. It’s not a crime. But don’t you think it gives us an idea of what kind of a politician he is?

A few of the biggest line items should also get more scrutiny, though there is limited information available on the Treasury’s site. For example, the state distributed more than $11 million to the Minnesota Zoo and nearly $3.8 million to the Science Museum of Minnesota to cover operating and maintenance costs. In some ways, that is connected to the pandemic: Fear of the disease and government social distancing mandates certainly harmed museums and zoos. The same could be said of the $237,000 line item for a “movie theater relief grant program.”

But Walz should be asked why he believes federal taxpayers—who may not live in Minnesota or ever visit the state—should be on the hook to pay for that.

As Reason has reported over the past few years, the federal bailout of state and local governments after the pandemic was largely unnecessary, and many governments have struggled to find ways to use the $350 billion in free cash distributed by the ARP. A good chunk of the funds have been put to questionable use, including subsidizing money-losing, government-owned golf courses, padding the paychecks of public employees, and funding tourism promotion campaigns.

The article concludes:

Until someone — not Congress — begins investigating this massive misuse of government power and taxpayer money, we’re in danger of having history repeat itself when the next national health emergency is upon us.

We need someone in Washington who has some respect for the taxpayers’ pocketbooks!

How Much Is The Biden Presidency Costing Americans?

On Tuesday, PJ Media posted an article about the impact of the Biden administration’s economic policies on Americans.

The article reports:

Thank to Joe Biden-flation and his catastrophic economic policies, American families are spending over $11,000 more annually just for necessities.

The obscene cost of inflation is hitting hardworking Americans, as overall prices have gone up almost 20% since the Meanderer-in-Chief came into office in 2021. Americans can thank the Biden administration for that $11,400 extra for necessities, about 20% of the average U.S. annual salary. And if you hear the lie that inflation is down, don’t believe it. All that means is that the inflation rate is allegedly slowing, and the Biden administration loves to engage in monkey business to manipulate such statistics.

As Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) posted last week, “Inflation is still ~50% higher than the targeted rate. Biden’s inflation is far from over.” Unfortunately, he’s right.

Grocery and energy costs have, of course, gone up drastically under Biden, as the Washington Examiner reported. Gas is 33% more expensive than at the start of 2021 and electricity prices increased 29%. But groceries have, perhaps, seen the most staggering increase:

Grocery staples such as cheese, eggs, meat, and fruits and vegetables have all seen significant price increases, with ground beef as much as 103% higher.

Because inflation persists and prices continue to climb, it’s getting harder and harder to make ends meet. Biden wants you to believe the government can spend its way to prosperity — which is good for the government but not so for the rest of us.

The Biden administration continues to lie about inflation, but most Americans believe what they see rather than what the Biden administration tells them.
