Quietly Doing Their Work

On Monday, The Epoch Times reported the following:

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced this past week that more than 100 federal contracts have been terminated with a value of nearly $6 billion.

Multiple agencies “terminated and descoped 108 wasteful contracts” that have a ceiling value of $5.8 billion and resulted in savings of $397 million,” DOGE wrote in an Oct. 10 post on X.

That includes a $3.1 million State Department contract titled, “Tanzania National Coordination Office Development,” it said, and a $46,500 U.S. Agency for Global Media lease for “office space for the Voice of America East Asia and Pacific Service.”

Other terminated items include a $5.8 million Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) contract for “organizational development, executive coaching, and leadership training” and a $44 million State Department contract for “professional services in Doha, Qatar.”

After being established by President Donald Trump on his first day in office, DOGE has slashed around $214 billion in estimated savings, or around $1,329.19 per taxpayer, according to an Oct. 4 update.

So far, 13,440 contract terminations totaling approximately $61 billion, 15,887 grant terminations worth around $49 billion, and 264 lease terminations totaling around $113 million have been posted on DOGE’s website.

On Friday, Fox News reported:

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on Wednesday released data showing the federal government ran a $1.8 trillion budget deficit in fiscal year 2025 amid mounting interest costs on the nearly $38 trillion national debt.

The article at The Epoch Times concludes:

While the number of layoffs is unclear, a group called the Partnership for Public Service says that more than 201,000 federal employees have left the government as of Sept. 23.

Earlier in the year, the Trump administration also had offered to pay federal workers who do not want to return to offices the option of a “deferred resignation,” meaning they would agree to resign but get paid through Sept. 30.

Efforts to lay off more employees, known as reductions-in-force, are ongoing in the midst of a nearly two-week-long government shutdown that started Oct. 1, Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought confirmed this past week. Court papers that were later submitted by the administration said that around 4,100 workers across several agencies received layoff notices.

A memo released by the budget office stated that for federal programs that would have a funding lapse during a government shutdown, “such programs are no longer statutorily required to be carried out.”

It also directed all federal agencies to submit reduction-in-force plans to the budget office for review.

I know that there is some serious griping among federal employees about the Reduction In Force (RIF), but RIF’s have been happening for a long time–the last major one was in 1994. The country cannot survive without seriously cutting government spending.

Keeping The Roads Safe

On Wednesday, Breitbart posted an article about a three-day operation, conducted by ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to make our roads safer. Truck drivers who cannot read, speak, or understand English are a safety hazard. Many of the warning signs on our roadways are electronic signs in English. Not being able to read these signs creates a safety hazard.

The article reports:

A joint traffic enforcement blitz along I-40 in western Oklahoma led to the arrest of 120 immigration violators—91 of whom were operating commercial vehicles. The arrests underscore the public safety risks posed by unlicensed or unauthorized drivers on America’s highways. The three-day operation, conducted by ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, targeted criminal activity and threats to roadway safety through intensified patrols and records checks.

In three days in late September, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers and ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers made approximately 520 contacts. During the contact stops, ERO officers conducted records checks and arrested 120 illegal aliens. Of these, 91 non-domiciled drivers were operating commercial vehicles, according to information obtained from ICE by Breitbart Texas.

Secretary Duffy said in his report announcement:

What our team has discovered should disturb and anger every American. Licenses to operate a massive, 80,000-pound truck are being issued to dangerous foreign drivers – often times illegally. This is a direct threat to the safety of every family on the road, and I won’t stand for it. Today’s actions will prevent unsafe foreign drivers from renewing their license and hold states accountable to immediately invalidate improperly issued licenses.

The secretary said California officials displayed “reckless disregard” in issuing CDLs without proper screening.

California must get its act together immediately or I will not hesitate to pull millions in funding. To every other state around the country – find all improperly issued CDLs and revoke their licenses now. We owe it to the American people to ensure only lawful, qualified drivers are operating big rigs on our highways.

He gave the state 30 days to come into compliance, or the federal government will begin withholding highway funds. California would lose approximately $160 million during the first year. The penalty would double in year two.

It’s time to enforce the law.

Once A Tyranny, Always A Tyranny

In 2005, Israel totally withdrew from Gaza. The Palestinian Authority was elected by the people in Gaza to govern. In 2006, Hamas took over the government. There was an election involved, but the circumstances are a bit sketchy. That was the last election. One of the first things that people in Gaza did in 2005 was dismantle the greenhouses the Israelis had built that fed Gaza and Israel and provided employment and income for the residents of Gaza. The people of Gaza used the plumbing tubes from the greenhouses as rocket tubes. The rocket attacks against Israel that had been going on since 2001 continued. Gaza has been a brutal terrorist state from the beginning.

Things haven’t changed. On Tuesday, Hot Air reported:

As the Israelis withdrew from the Gaza war zone, Hamas terrorists needed somebody to shoot, so they decided to turn their fire on their fellow Palestinians.

The article quotes The U.K. Telegraph:

Much of the intra-Palestinian violence in recent days has taken place around the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza City, where, according to Hamas-affiliated social media, the group carried out a widespread “security campaign” against rivals, believed to be the powerful Dormush clan.

Hamas is also said to have moved against the Abu Samra family in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza and called for the death of Khan Younis militia leader Housam al-Astal, who was interviewed by the Telegraph last week, and Yasser Abu Shabab in Rafah. Both men are believed to have collaborated tactically with Israel and accepted material support.

‘Dragged to the execution site’

The execution video showed Hamas fighters moving a large crowd out of the way so as not to be hit by bullets before the killings took place. Some of the prisoners were shirtless and some were dragged to the execution site while being beaten.

Separate footage, bearing the insignia of Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades, showed armed militants riding in the back of an SUV with dead bodies at their feet.

As a Palestinian who openly opposes Hamas and rejects the glorified myths our society keeps repeating, I can’t stay silent about the sheer hypocrisy I see from many Western liberals.

How can you defend a movement that executes its own people, by shooting them in the street, without trial, for merely disagreeing or being labeled “collaborators”? How can you call that “resistance” while those very scenes mirror the barbarism you’d condemn anywhere else in the world?

You claim to stand for liberal values, for human rights, for justice. But your empathy collapses when the victims are Palestinians murdered by other Palestinians, when it doesn’t fit the neat narrative of oppressor and oppressed.

What does that say about your values, really?

If you can overlook public executions and rule by terror just because the perpetrators shout “liberation,” then maybe your solidarity isn’t rooted in morality but in ideology.

The whole “peace” movement has always been a farce. It was never about saving lives; it was always about backing anti-Israel terrorists.

Misplaced Priorities

On Monday, The Daily Caller posted an article about some of the spending priorities in the state of Oregon.

The article reports:

Oregon will spend more in its current budget period on free health care for immigrants regardless of legal status than on state police by $500 million or more, according to state officials and budget documents.

Oregon officials expect to spend $1.5 billion in combined state and federal taxpayer dollars on a program that offers health benefits to illegal aliens from 2025 to 2027. They expect to spend $717 million on Oregon State Police over the same period, the documents indicate.

The state’s health agency, the Oregon Health Authority, said in an email to the Daily Caller News Foundation that the state expects to allocate $1.2 billion to the program — originally named “Cover All People” and now called the “Healthier Oregon Program” (HOP). Oregon lays out budgets in two-year “bienniums.”

The federal government will supply 25% of the funding to provide health benefits to illegal aliens in Oregon, the OHA told the DCNF.

The data emblematizes some of the Democratic stronghold’s policy priorities — facilitating illegal immigrants’ access to health care and reducing criminal crackdowns. These very policies have touched off a government shutdown in Washington, D.C., and protests in Portland.

Medicaid — the joint federal-state program that traditionally provided health services to children, pregnant mothers and disabled adults — formally bars illegal immigrants from receiving benefits.

But some blue states have innovated creative accounting methods to extract federal dollars without the federal restrictions, according to the Paragon Health Institute, a non-partisan policy research group. Blue states will issue taxes on Medicaid insurers and providers, obtain a bundle of federal matching dollars for those funds, then return the taxed money to those institutions, the think tank points out.

Meanwhile in Portland, nightly protests continue outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.

Attorneys for the state of Oregon and city of Portland have argued in court against the deployment of the National Guard, saying that violent crime in Portland is significantly down.

But on Wednesday, the Portland City Council heard testimony from several small business owners who argued in support of an initiative to revive Portland storefronts amid break-ins, fires, graffiti, shoplifting, public drug use and visible mental health crises.

“I’ve replaced a total of nine windows, three locks from attempted break-ins, I’ve been spit on, I’ve been punched twice, once resulting in a black eye. I had a man masturbating in my window. I’ve had a gun pulled on me twice — once was last week. I’ve had a knife pulled on me,” said Steve Cook, owner of Portland business Vinyl Resting Place. “When I’m found dead in my shop, I’m gonna be like ‘I told you so.’”

The voters in Oregon need to take a good look at where their money is going and whether or not they want to be safe in their homes.

Law Enforcement Doing Its Job

On Sunday, Fox News posted an article about some recent arrests in Texas.

The article reports:

Federal and local authorities rescued more than 30 missing children and uncovered multiple trafficking operations targeting vulnerable youth during a coordinated crackdown across Texas.

The effort, centered in San Antonio, led to arrests, felony warrants and several new investigations under a joint mission known as “Operation Lightning Bug.”

Teams from the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) out of San Antonio, Del Rio, Midland, and Pecos joined forces with San Antonio Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, Special Victims Unit, Street Crimes Unit and covert operatives. Together, they combed through Texas and national crime databases to identify at-risk juveniles and coordinate recovery efforts.

The results included:

    • Three arrests for harboring runaways
    • Nine felony warrants executed
    • Six sex trafficking survivors rescued and connected with support services
    • Five new trafficking investigations opened
    • More than 30 missing juveniles located
    • More than 120 additional juveniles voluntarily returned home, clearing their names from missing persons databases

Each recovered child was interviewed by SAPD’s Special Victims Unit to determine whether they had been victimized. Survivors were referred to support services provided by agencies such as Health and Human Services to ensure long-term care and protection.

Sex trafficking of children is a problem in America. The internet and social media add to the problem. The internet makes it very easy for a person to appear to be something they are not. If I told you I was twenty-five and drop-dead gorgeous, you would be limited in ways to discover the truth (which is pretty far from that description).

The article concludes:

“The biggest myth is that it happens somewhere else, and it happens to someone else,” she (Kirsta Leeberg-Melton, founder and CEO of the Institute to Combat Trafficking) said. “Until we start recognizing that people have value, no matter who they are, where they come from, what they’ve done or what’s been done to them, we will continue to excuse some level of exploitation.”

Leeberg-Melton also described sextortion as a growing form of trafficking that uses coercion to force sexual conduct or imagery.

“When you have someone that you are holding something over their head and then you are asking them for additional photographs or additional sexual conduct with the threat…that is a form, frankly, of human trafficking,” she said.

Random Thoughts On President Trump’s Peace Deal

John F. Kennedy once stated, “Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan.” The mainstream media’s reaction to President Trump’s peace deal and the reaction of some of the prominent Democrat politicians confirms that truth.

Senator Elizabeth posted the following on X:

For two excruciating years, I have called for the return of the hostages brutally kidnapped on October 7th and held in Gaza.

Today is a good day. Surviving Israeli hostages are finally home and reuniting with loved ones. I’m thinking of them and their families on this joyful day and praying for their full recovery. I’m also grieving for all those who can’t come home today.

Today must also be an important step toward lasting peace in the region — peace for both Israelis and Palestinians. We must end the war in Gaza, surge humanitarian aid, and negotiate a two-state solution now.

Did she really think that her words were going to get the hostages released?

Notice that he fails to give credit to President Trump. He is still the petty, self-centered person he was as President, only now he is searching for relevance.

On Sunday, The New York Post reported:

Hillary Clinton heaped some rare praise on her former arch-enemy Donald Trump for his handling of the Gaza peace deal in a recent interview.

“I really commend President Trump and his administration,” Clinton told CBS News 24/7 Friday.

“As well as Arab leaders in the region, for making the commitment to the 20-point plan and seeing a path forward for what’s often called the day after,” she added.

Searching for relevance?

It is interesting that President Trump is more popular in Israel than he is in America. The people who were yelling ‘stop the genocide’ have been surprising quiet (as the streets of Gaza erupt in chaos with Hamas killing anyone they believe collaborated with Israel and rival gangs vying for control). I wonder if Hamas has deliberately killed more civilians in Gaza than the Israeli Defense Forces have accidentally killed.

On Friday, Just the News reported that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer wants to declassify all of the evidence related to President Trump’s first impeachment trial.

The article reports:

Two powerful committee chairmen in Congress tell Just the News it is time to declassify evidence submitted by an alleged intelligence community whistleblower that prompted the first impeachment trial against President Donald Trump for his efforts to investigate the Biden family’s business dealings in Ukraine. 

Six years after Democrats pursued the impeachment case over a call that Trump made to Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, many of the allegations have crumbled in the face of two convictions and pardons of Hunter Biden and new evidence uncovered by Congress from the FBI, the Justice Department and the CIA.

The latest evidence was released this week by CIA Director John Ratcliffe revealing that Joe Biden‘s vice presidential staff suppressed an intelligence community report from being published that revealed that Ukrainian officials believed Hunter Biden‘s work for the corrupt Burisma Holdings energy company undercut U.S. efforts to fight corruption in that former Soviet republic. 

“Declassify everything. Let’s be transparent. Let’s release all the documents,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told the Just the News, No Noise television show. “That’s what needs to happen. The American people need to see the true reality of what was going on.

“The Democrats colluded with the liberal media, who were in cahoots with the deep state government agencies to try to create false narratives that Trump did something wrong, that he was trying to dig up something untrue about the Biden family, when it was very true and it was very serious,” he said.

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc., chairman of the Senate permanent subcommittee on investigations, said he too believes the complaint that prompted the 2019 impeachment probe and eventual acquittal of Trump should be made public, including confirming the alleged whistleblower’s identity and his possible connections to Biden.

The first impeachment of President Trump was an effort to undermine his presidency. It was essentially a soft coup. All of the people who pushed the soft coup forward need to be charged with undermining the government.

They Are Home!

All of the living hostages who were taken on October 7, 2023, were returned to Israel today. I can’t imagine what their families are feeling.

Israel reclaimed its 20 living hostages early Monday after they spent more than two years in Hamas captivity, a triumphant moment that marked the first stage of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.

Video footage showed some of the hostages speaking to their families from video calls in Gaza before being turned over to the Israel Defense Forces. The first seven were released to the IDF around 2 a.m. Eastern Time, with the remaining 13 living hostages joining them roughly two hours later. All of the living hostages arrived on Israeli soil by 5 a.m. Monday.

The article includes some beautiful pictures of family reunions.

The article notes:

The hostage release is part of a ceasefire deal that also requires Hamas to return the remains of deceased hostages, though it’s unclear exactly when that will happen. Israel released around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners as part of the deal’s initial phase and withdrew its military forces from around half the territory of Gaza.

Trump will leave Israel to attend a summit on the deal scheduled to take place in Egypt on Monday. It is there that world leaders are expected to discuss the peace plan’s subsequent stages, including Hamas’s disarmament and the formal end of the war. Questions remain on those details, but Trump expressed confidence that the ceasefire will hold.

“The war is over,” he told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday evening. “We have a lot of verbal guarantees, and I don’t think they’re going to want to disappoint me.”

If I were Hamas, I would understand that as a threat.

Witkoff and Kushner addressed hundreds of thousands of Israelis at Hostage Square in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening. They praised the “heroism” of the IDF and the “exceptional” state of Israel. The crowd broke out in chants of “Thank you Kushner! Thank you Trump!”

Cleaning Up The Voter Rolls

On Friday, Townhall posted an article written by Victor Davis Hanson about cleaning up our voter rolls. The number of dead people and people who are not citizens who are voting in our elections matters. Every illegal vote cancels out a legal vote.

The article reports:

For decades, America’s voter roll maintenance system has been running on fumes. It still relies on tools like the Postal Service’s National Change of Address database and the Social Security Death Index- once considered cutting-edge but now hopelessly outdated. These systems were designed for a world where people moved less, technology was slower, and data sharing across states was primitive. That world no longer exists.

…A growing number of election administrators are finding that the answer isn’t another lawsuit or government database—it’s commercial data. Credit bureaus and identity verification systems used by banks, insurers, and mortgage lenders already maintain the most accurate, continuously updated records of where people live and who they are. These tools, offered by firms such as Experian, TransUnion, and Thomson Reuters, can revolutionize voter roll maintenance.

Take Tarrant County, Texas. In 2025, the county contracted with Thomson Reuters’ CLEAR system to verify voter registration data in real-time. Within seconds, officials can confirm whether a registrant’s name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number align across multiple sources. That means fewer errors, fewer duplicate registrations, and fewer undeliverable mail ballots.

Voting rolls can be cleaned up:

Orange County, California, achieved similar success when it collaborated with Experian to verify voter addresses. Over eight years, officials identified more than 400,000 potential address conflicts and confirmed more than 74,000 move-aways, cleaning up the rolls and saving taxpayer money on wasted mailings.

And in West Virginia, a pilot project using Experian data revealed that a quarter of the sampled voter records were associated with outdated addresses. This is an early warning system that helped prevent errors before they became controversies.

The fix is simple: make EAVS (Election Assistance Commission’s Election Administration and Voting Survey) participation mandatory. Congress should require every jurisdiction to provide full, verified responses, subject to quality control. This isn’t about partisanship, it’s about facts. Reliable data should not depend on who feels like filling out a spreadsheet.

It’s 2025. The idea that we’re still relying on postcards and voluntary surveys to maintain the foundation of American democracy is unacceptable. If we want elections that are secure, transparent, and worthy of confidence, we must use the best tools available. That means embracing commercial data and demanding honest reporting from every jurisdiction. Clean data means clean elections. It’s time to finish the fight and bring voter roll maintenance into the 21st century. It’s how we make elections easy to vote but hard to cheat.

On Saturday, Breitbart posted an article reporting that President Trump is attempting to make sure our military gets paid during the Sombrero Shutdown orchestrated by Senator Schumer.

The article reports:

President Donald Trump is taking steps to ensure that U.S. service members receive their paychecks next week despite the ongoing government shutdown, directing his administration to find and allocate available funds as congressional gridlock threatens military pay. 

…The government shutdown, now in its second week, began October 1 after Senate Democrats rejected multiple times a clean continuing resolution to maintain funding at prior levels. President Trump has consistently stated that essential national security personnel — including 1.3 million active-duty service members and hundreds of thousands of National Guard members — will remain on duty. However, congressional aides told Reuters that legislation must pass by Monday, October 13, for payroll to be processed in time for the standard mid-month pay date of October 15.

Trump’s post followed comments by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who told Punchbowl News “every day gets better” for Democrats during the shutdown. Trump responded, “I DISAGREE! If nothing is done, because of ‘Leader’ Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, our Brave Troops will miss the paychecks they are rightfully due on October 15th.”

Despite these pressures, Senate Democrats have repeatedly voted to block a short-term funding bill that would reopen the government. Meanwhile, reports indicate that several members of the Democratic caucus plan to attend a Napa Valley retreat hosted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee set for Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14, prompting criticism from Republicans who contend the party is “vacationing during a shutdown.”

Trump’s latest action aims to bypass the impasse and ensure that military personnel are not left unpaid due to political disputes in Congress. “The Radical Left Democrats should OPEN THE GOVERNMENT,” he wrote, “and then we can work together to address Healthcare, and many other things that they want to destroy.”

A number of pundits have stated that they expect the shutdown to end after the No Kings protest on October 18. This is a left-wing paid protest with a goal of destabilizing America. The theory is that if the Democrats open the government before the protest, they will be among the people and things protested against. Please understand that the majority of the protesters are paid to protest. This i s not grass roots–it’s AstroTurf!

This Is Beyond Ridiculous

On Sunday, Red State posted an article about the peace process in the Middle East and the return of the hostages. The return of the hostages (even though only 20 of them are alive) is an amazing accomplishment. That may be one of the reasons that former Secretary of State Antony Blinken is giving former President Biden credit for that accomplishment. What?

The article includes screenshots of some X posts:

First of all, Secretary Blinken might want to remember that over 70 percent of ‘Palestinians’ supported the actions of Hamas on October 7, 2023 (source here). The actions of Hamas on October 7, 2023, were clearly in violation of the rules of war that are generally agreed on internationally by civilized countries. Right now, there is a gang war going on in Gaza with Hamas killing anyone they think might have collaborated with Israel and rival gangs killing each other. Civilized behavior has not been a strong suit of the ‘Palestinians.’

Comparing the terrible ceasefire Blinken and Biden brokered to this one is so disingenuous. That ceasefire was never viable because it left hostages in the hands of Hamas, and it provided no path to disarm and fully defeat the terrorist group, instead demanding Israel essentially surrender. It was the typical warmed-over slop we’ve come to expect from the Obama/Biden axis of foreign policy expertise. 

At no point did the Biden administration apply any pressure on the Arab nations to turn against Hamas and end the war. More importantly, they never applied pressure on Iran, which was fueling the conflict in Gaza and propping up Hezbollah in the north as a threat. In short, the entire region was on fire, and it was handed over to Trump in far worse condition than Biden and company found it.

For Blinken to pretend the former administration laid the groundwork and showed the path forward is laughable. But he hadn’t reached peak shamelessness yet. That came later in his thread when he demanded the establishment of a Palestinian state. 

…This absolute clown. If you’ve been following this issue for any amount of time, you will understand how infuriating that is. The foreign policy establishment has insisted for decades that you could never get Arab buy-in, defeat Hamas, neuter Hezbollah, and limit Iran without giving the terrorists in Gaza a state. That issue was treated as the key to everything, basically becoming a tenet of faith and a bludgeon to beat Israel with. Trump walked in and proved them all wrong, securing the Abraham Accords and ending the war in Gaza by marginalizing the issue, and yet they are still claiming that a Palestinian state must be established.

Americans should be so thankful that no one is listening to these over-credentialed imbeciles anymore. The arsonists don’t get to wag their fingers and lecture the firefighters who put out their fires. They certainly don’t get to take credit for it. The foreign policy establishment is a joke, and it should be treated as such. 

Until the ‘Palestinians’ learn to act like civilized people, there is no reason to give them a state.

Recently, President Trump held a White House round-table on Antifa. The investigation into the funding of Antifa and the coordination of the protests and riots has begun.

On Saturday, Zero Hedge reported:

President Trump’s latest roundtable on ANTIFA wasn’t just a political statement — it was a long-overdue reckoning against rising far-left political violence. For years, journalists and citizens alike have watched America’s streets burn, our cities vandalized, and our law enforcement vilified under banners of “resistance.” But as the President’s meeting revealed, ANTIFA is only one mask worn by a much larger monster — a transnational network of NGOs, foreign financiers, and ideological operatives quietly fueling what Seamus Bruner of the Government Accountability Institute called “Riot Inc.”

Bruner, GAI’s Director of Research, broke down the mechanics of this sprawling protest industrial complex. He traced the money, the messaging, and the movements, exposing how left-wing extremism has evolved from decentralized networks of anarchist collectives into a well-funded infrastructure with global ambitions. Among the various nodes and financiers, he named Neville Roy Singham — a tech billionaire currently under multiple congressional investigations for allegedly funneling money to American-based protest groups doing the bidding of the Chinese Communist Party.

The article notes:

The scale of coordination here should disturb every American. ANTIFA isn’t simply a group of masked agitators smashing Starbucks windows — it’s one visible node of the growing revolution against the West. And while it might be decentralized and loose in structure, the rest of the revolution is not. The permanent protest industry has thousands of nonprofit entities, shell companies, fiscal sponsorships, alternative media arms, an army of lawyers, bail funds, foreign influences, and a multi-billion-dollar network of backers. 

Bruner told Trump earlier this week, “We have identified dozens of radical organizations, not just the decentralized Antifa organizations, but dozens of radical organizations that have received more than $100 million from the Riot Inc investors.” 

The article concludes:

President Trump deserves credit for forcing this conversation into the open. But as Bruner warned, dismantling ANTIFA’s street operations will only address the symptoms. To truly stop the bleeding, America must go after the bloodstream — the NGO networks and offshore foundations that bankroll domestic destabilization.

A “bottom-up” crackdown targets the foot soldiers; a “top-down” strategy targets the financiers, the academics, and the nonprofit executives turning activism into industry.

It is becoming very obvious why the Democrats are fighting so hard to retain the funding for the NGO’s. The NGO’s are one of the most brilliant money laundering schemes ever invented. It’s time to bring out the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

Common Sense Has Arrived

On Wednesday, America First Legal posted a Press Release about a lawsuit challenging the 2020 census.

The article reports:

America First Legal (AFL), in partnership with Weber, Crabb & Wein, P.A., is leading a landmark lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, alleging that the 2020 Census was unconstitutional and violated federal law. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of two individuals and two organizations, alleges that the Census Bureau relied on unlawful statistical methods, distorted congressional representation, and diluted the votes of lawful citizens.

The U.S. Constitution requires an actual count of every person every ten years to decide representation in Congress. Federal law explicitly prohibits the use of “statistical sampling” or other methods that risk inaccurate results. 

The article continues:

In 2020, the Census Bureau ignored this mandate and instead relied on two deeply flawed methods: Group Quarters Imputation and Differential Privacy.

    • Group Quarters Imputation: Fabricated residents at dormitories, nursing homes, and other institutions that were empty on Census Day. In some cases, individuals were even double-counted — once at home and again at facilities they had already left.
    • Differential Privacy: Injected statistical errors throughout the Census data, producing negative and illogical values and disproportionate errors that punished rural communities in particular.

The use of these flawed statistical methods violated Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, the Fourteenth Amendment, and 13 U.S.C. § 195. AFL’s lawsuit alleges that through these methods, the Census Bureau skewed state redistricting and caused congressional seats to shift, distorting representation in Florida and ultimately altering political power across the country.

Instead of counting real people at their residences, as required by law, the Bureau fabricated population counts and injected statistical “noise” into the results. This was not a simple technical error — it was a direct assault on representation. By fabricating people out of thin air, the Census Bureau effectively stole votes from some states and handed them to others.

These manipulations violated the Constitution’s command to count the “whole number of persons,” ignored federal statutes that ban statistical shortcuts, and replaced the rule of law with bureaucratic gamesmanship. The result was a Congress that may not fully reflect the true will of the American people. Representation in Congress cannot be based on models, estimates, or political preferences — it must be based on reality.

The lawsuit deals with the methods of the census. It does not seem to deal with the question of whether or not illegal aliens or non-citizens should be counted in the census.

The Real Cost of Illegal Aliens

The Marxists in our country love to point out that we are a nation of immigrants. Of course, they fail to acknowledge that until recently, we were a nation of legal immigrants. President Trump as usual is fulfilling his campaign promises, including stopping the flood of illegal aliens we witnessed during the Biden administration. Biden lied when he said we needed new legislation to deal with this problem. In reality all we needed was a new president who put the welfare of our country first. The result is that illegal immigration has essentially been stopped and is at the lowest levels in fifty years. However, the damage caused by the Biden administration open border policy is continuing.

Let’s first look at the financial impact. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. is close to 20 million. Many of these illegals access government services for free, for example housing, healthcare, education, food stamps, and other welfare programs. FAIR calculates that the cost to the American taxpayer in 2022 was 182 billion dollars. (This amount has only increased since then.) The cost for each illegal is about 9,000 dollars a year or an average of 1,200 dollars per each taxpayer. This includes federal, state, and local taxes. Note that the Democrats, who have chosen to shut down the federal government, want the taxpayers to shoulder an increasing tax burden by expanding funding for healthcare for illegals. It should be remembered that prior to the Democrats led by Ted Kennedy changing the immigration laws in the 1960s, all immigrants into this country had to provide proof that they or their relatives had sufficient resources and income to support themselves economically.

It should be noted, that Marxism has always advocated open borders and eliminating national governments in favor of global governance. The potential impact of open borders is the destruction of a countries traditions and values. Note how the left wants to tear down our statues for example. Many of the illegals let in by the Biden administration have no intention of giving up their own culture and adopting ours. Up until the 1960s immigration law change, most of the immigrants were from European countries who share our heritage of western civilization. That is no longer the case. Many of the groups currently coming here are unlikely to ever assimilate as immigrants have done in the past. Europe is about five years ahead of us with this problem. The cities of London, Paris, Brussels, etc., have been essentially taken over by immigrants. An example of this happening in our country is Dearborn Michigan, which is essentially a Muslim community, many of whom want to live under Sharia law. The situation is aggravated by the fact that some of these cities (like New York) are allowing illegals to vote in local elections even though federal law prohibits voting in national elections. The mayoral race in New York City should concern us all since the election of an avowed Marxist in one of our largest cities would mark an advancement of Marxism that could not have been imagined 30 years ago.

There was a time right after World War II, when most people in America were aware of and dreaded the possibility of a Marxist takeover in our country. That is obviously no longer the case. Massive immigration and the leftist takeover of many of our universities has set the stage for what we are seeing now. Abraham Lincoln once said that America would never be destroyed by a foreign power, but if we were to be destroyed, it would be from within. Open borders, the destruction of the traditional family, diminishing church attendance, homosexual marriage, reliance on the government for healthcare and other benefits are all symptoms of our slide to Marxism. Patriotic Americans must recognize this reality and stand up for traditional American values before it is too late. Fortunately, we have a president who is leading us back in the right direction. We all need to support him as much as possible and fight for our freedoms.

Forgetting History

On Wednesday, Jonathan Turley posted an article about President Trump using the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) to deal with illegal immigrants in our major cities. Using federal forces to enforce law and order is not a new concept.

The article reports:

As a native Chicagoan, I must confess that I have little patience for Mayor Brandon Johnson, a politician who has been a disaster for the city. One of the most unpopular mayors in the city’s history, Johnson has been using the increased ICE operations to try to ride a wave of rage back into popularity. His language has become more and more inflammatory in calling for citizens to “resist” and “fight” federal law enforcement. Now, he is claiming the authority to not only mandate “ICE-free zones” in the city but to arrest federal officers.

Ironically, Johnson has declared that President Donald Trump wants a “rematch of the Civil War.” However, it is Johnson who is pursuing antebellum policies. It was the South that claimed independence from the Union and fought to expel federal troops.

Johnson signed a ridiculous executive order creating “ICE-Free Zones” to ban federal agents from using city-owned properties and property of unwilling private owners as staging areas for immigration enforcement.

The federal government has its own jurisdictional authority and can enter city and private property in pursuit of lawful operations. In terms of “staging” operations, the Constitution, not Brandon Johnson, protects citizens from having their property seized or used for the quartering of troops.

Most importantly, the City of Chicago cannot arrest federal officers who are conducting federal operations. This point was correctly noted earlier by Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling, who said that CPD officers will not arrest federal law enforcement, “because someone deems what they are doing is illegal.”

Nevertheless, Johnson was back to his signature chest-pounding bravado: “We’re going to see people in court. As far as other authority that allows for us to be able to enforce this ordinance, we’re exploring.”

This is posturing by someone who wants to be re-elected.

The article concludes:

Threatening the arrest of federal officers enforcing federal law is not defending the rule of law or democracy. Indeed, a similar claim was made by Southern politicians not only before the Civil War but during the Civil Rights era. It was governors like George Wallace who insisted that he could stop federal officials and the National Guard from enforcing federal law.

Likewise, it was George Wallace who objected to the “unwelcomed, unwanted, unwarranted, and force-induced intrusion” in his state by federal law enforcement.

Before Johnson attempts to arrest federal officials, he might want to take another look at the Constitution and review some history on the subject. Wallace also tried to ride the wave of rage to power after “standing at the schoolhouse door in person, if necessary.” It did not work. The federal government prevailed, and Wallace was left as a tragic relic of history.

Who does the Mayor think is paying for the illegal aliens in his city? If the taxpayers are smart, they will quickly vote him out of office.

The End Of A Boondoggle

On Thursday, The Daily Caller reported that the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility in California’s Mojave Desert will be shut down next year.

The article reports:

Boosted by $1.6 billion in taxpayer-backed loans in 2011, the gargantuan project was hailed by President Obama’s first energy secretary, Ernest Moniz, as “an example of how America is becoming a world leader in solar energy.”

Instead, it has become yet another example of central planners squandering taxpayer money on an ill-conceived green-energy boondoggle. Covering five square miles of the sun-drenched Mojave Desert, 65 miles southwest of Las Vegas, Ivanpah features three 459-foot towers and 173,500 computer-controlled mirrors known as heliostats. “The mirrors reflect heat from the sun to a receiver mounted on top of the tower,” energy consultant Edward Smeloff told the New York Post. “That heats a fluid. It creates steam [that spins] a conventional steam turbine. It is complicated.”

So complicated, in fact, that the project ran with breathtaking inefficiency. Since going into operation in 2014, Ivanpah, built at a cost of $2.2 billion, never came close to meeting its boosters’ lofty expectations. In the world of solar energy, Ivanpah found itself unable to compete with conventional photovoltaic installations, which themselves are unable to meet the soaring demands of electricity-hungry artificial intelligence (AI).

The solar farm was a very efficient bird incinerator:

But whatever its shortcomings in producing electricity, Ivanpah has been a super-efficient killer of birds. The light generated from the mirrors’ reflection of the sun can reach temperatures of 1,000 degrees. Birds unfortunate enough to fly over the “clean-energy” facility could be burned alive in the intense heat. According to the Association of Avian Veterinarians, Ivanpah is believed to be responsible for at least 6,000 bird deaths each year,” the Post reported.

The article concludes:

America’s creaky electric grid desperately needs reliable baseline energy to power the nation’s homes and businesses. Energy-hungry, AI-driven data centers require gobs of electricity 24/7/365 that is best generated on-site by small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs). Furthermore, the U.S. can flex its muscles by exporting its abundant oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), and even coal, to eager customers worldwide. In this emerging world, there should be no place for subsidized, intermittent wind and solar power, much less the soon-to-be shuttered Ivanpah monstrosity in the Mojave Desert.

And if the powers that be in Beijing still want to be the global leaders in green energy, let them.

Searching For The String To Unravel The Sweater

Corruption is a problem in Washington and throughout America. Instead of Congress passing laws, we have unelected bureaucrats making regulations. People enter Congress with a net worth of a few hundred thousand dollars and become multi-millionaires in two or three years. When that happens in the private sector, there is generally an invention or a product involved. Many of our major cities have become lawless with violent protests against America. Where is the money coming from that pays the protesters and magically appears in the wallets of Congressmen (on both sides of the aisle)? I think we are beginning to get a clue.

The current government shutdown revolves around a number of issues. Most of those issues involve funding cuts made in the Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed into law on July 4th. Why are those funding cuts so important to the Democrats?

Obviously, PBS and NPR function as mouthpieces for the Democrat party. Defunding them cuts down on free campaigning for Democrat policies. But let’s look at the list of other items the Democrats want added back into the budget. Among the things the Democrats want added back are $300,000 to sponsor a pride parade in Lesotho (a small country in Southern Africa), $500,000 to purchase electric buses in Rwanda, and Over $4.2 million for LGBTQ projects in the Western Balkans and Uganda. So why do the Democrats care about these things so much that they would shut down the government to preserve them? Why was funding USAID so important to the Democrats? Generally when dealing with Washington, the answer to a lot of questions is ‘follow the money.’ That is also true here.

The money going to these projects is actually given to non-governmental organization’s (NGO’s) to distribute to the project involved. It is very easy to launder money in this process. How much of the money the federal government paid out for abortions allowed Planned Parenthood to fund Democrat political campaign coffers? The money didn’t go directly there, but created a profit margin that allowed for large donations to various candidates.

As the investigation into Antifa begins, I predict that a lot of the money supporting the protesters and events will come from non-profit organizations and NGO’s. Some of the foundations we have considered benevolent for years may be exposed as something entirely different.

Why I Don’t Trust The ‘Experts’

On Thursday, Breitbart posted an article about the impact of President Trump’s tariffs. Generally speaking, the results of the tariffs is the exact opposite of what the experts predicted. We really don’t know if the predictions were so dire because President Trump was involved or if the experts really believed what they were writing.

The article reports:

In yesterday’s Breitbart Business Digest, we examined a new working paper from Jared Bernstein and Daniel Posthumus that documented the decline of U.S. manufacturing employment, particularly the devastating 2000-2010 “China Shock” period when 5.7 million factory jobs disappeared.

While the authors called this period “destructive” and urged preventing future shocks, they insisted that “sweeping” tariffs were not the right policy. Their reasoning was undermined by a significant contradiction: they claim tariffs would disrupt American manufacturing because we’re too dependent on foreign inputs, yet they simultaneously advocate for subsidies for sectors vulnerable to foreign export controls. They’ve essentially documented that our industrial base is dangerously hollowed out while arguing we’re too dependent to fix it.

As we explained, the real-world evidence further undermines their anti-tariff position. Despite President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs imposed in April 2025, the predicted “tarifflation” never materialized. Prices on tariffed imports haven’t risen as economists predicted. In fact, prices on non-tariffed domestic goods rose more than tariffed imports, while domestic goods competing with tariffed imports are actually down since Liberation Day. There certainly has not been any widespread inflation created by tariffs. The central economic case against tariffs—that they raise consumer prices—has collapsed in the face of actual data.

What we’re actually seeing is something economists have long theorized as “optimal tariff theory.“ A country with a globally dominant consumer market can employ tariffs to force foreign manufacturers to lower prices to maintain their exports. It can also successfully pressure other countries to reduce their own import barriers by threatening even higher tariffs. Finally, the household sector can force a redistribution from the corporate sector by refusing to accept the pass-through of tariff costs.

The article concludes:

Meanwhile, Biden’s subsidy approach—implicitly endorsed by the paper—produced billions in spending, out-of-control inflation, a brief construction boom, and then declining factory employment.

The paper warns that tariffs raise input costs, but we’re currently so dependent on imported inputs that we’re vulnerable to devastating supply cutoffs. The paper warns about retaliation, but sweeping tariffs have proven less provocative than thought, and there’s every reason to believe that targeting other countries’ strategic sectors would ignite backlash. The paper warns about price increases, but the data shows prices on tariffed goods rising less than non-tariffed ones.

At every turn, the real-world evidence contradicts the theoretical objections. An open-minded reader of the paper will come away grateful American’s voted for Trump’s trade policies rather than the industrial policy favored by Bernstein, Postuhumus, and the Biden administration.

I guess the businessman in the White House had a better understanding of economics than the experts.

We Can Make Things Here In America!

On Tuesday, Real Clear Politics posted an commentary about manufacturing in America. The commentary relates the story of the Sharpie, now manufactured almost entirely in America.

The commentary explains:

President Donald Trump loves a Sharpie pen, and now he has all the more reason to love the company that makes them.

The president signed the flurry of executive orders he issued the day he returned to office with a Sharpie.

He’s used them for years, finding them more reliable than fancier pens.

Now we know they have another merit, too: They’re almost entirely made in America.

Only the felt tip of a Sharpie comes from abroad — it’s made in Japan, according to the Wall Street Journal’s Natasha Khan, who published an eye-opening article on the penmaker last week.

What makes Newell Brands, the corporation behind the Sharpie, so newsworthy is its success saving money — and holding down consumer prices — by making the pens in America.

Newell was once as dazzled as other manufacturers by the prospect of making its products more cheaply in Asia.

But in 2018, CFO Chris Peterson looked into producing the latest Sharpie, a gel version, at the company’s factory in Maryville, Tennessee.

The commentary notes:

Ford Motor Company famously discovered it could sell more cars by paying its workers well enough to afford the automobiles they were making.

Long before globalization, America’s national economy boomed thanks to a virtuous cycle of rising wages, more technological investment, an increasingly educated workforce, and higher consumer spending on American-made goods.

Success at home led to success abroad: America was an exporting superpower that “ran persistent trade surpluses” from 1870 to 1970, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis relates.

Trump wants to make American manufacturing great again.

But tariffs, which can help, are not enough by themselves.

The Sharpie case shows domestic investment is critical.

The commentary concludes:

For most American manufacturers, private investment is enough — though even then, government must consider what unfair practices other countries may adopt to lure investment away from our shores.

There’s also a role for government in ensuring a reasonably level playing field at home, so investment isn’t incentivized out of manufacturing and into other sectors without the heavy upfront costs of plants and machinery.

Yet the Newell Brands example shows business leaders themselves can work miracles and defy globalization’s laws of gravity when they put capital behind America’s factories and workers.

We can bring manufacturing back to America.

Why Now?

Why is Hamas finally willing to make peace? Are they really willing to make peace? Keep in mind that Hamas has only agreed to Part 1 of the Peace Plan. Also remember that Hamas has never been an orphan before.

Let’s look at the past two years. Under the Biden administration, Israel was pretty much prevented from taking serious action against its enemies. When President Trump took office in January, he made it very clear that he supported Israel fully in dealing with its terrorist enemies. Since January, Israel has had America’s support to deal with the constant rocket attacks and terrorist attacks within its borders.

The Abraham accords under the first Trump administration were the beginning. They represented a peaceful initiative to isolate Hamas. The attacks on Iran, Lebanon and Yemen further cut off much of Hamas’ support, both diplomatically and logistically. The attack on Hamas leadership in Qatar made it clear that there would be no safe haven for Hamas. It also put the Middle East on alert as to the dangers of sheltering the leadership of Hamas.

By the time Israel invaded Gaza, Hamas was an orphan with no place to hide. That is the reason Hamas is finally negotiating peace.

This is not a perfect agreement. If it is carried out, the price of getting twenty or so live hostages freed from Hamas is the release of more than 1,000 known Hamas terrorists. It will be interesting to see if the terrorists are allowed back into Gaza. That will be a clue as to what happens next.

It will be very interesting to see if the peace process continues after the hostages are released and the requirements of Phase 1 are implemented. Part of Phase 1 calls for the Israeli Defense Forces to withdraw from much of Gaza. Will that be a clue for Hamas to resume fighting?

If you sense a lack of trust of Hamas on my part, you are correct. There are two principles of Islam that we need to keep in mind when dealing with Hamas–hudna and taqiyya. Hudna is the act of calling a truce so that you can rearm and then breaking the truce when you feel that you are strong enough to win the war. Taqiyya is generally described as lying for the sake of Islam. Hamas is Islamic and is well aware of both of these principles.

It Pays To Have A Businessman In The White House

We are in the second week of the government shutdown that began October 1st. I am still predicting that it will end soon, but it really doesn’t look that way. So who is being hurt by the shutdown, and what can be done about it?

On Tuesday, Legal Insurrection reported:

President Donald Trump announced he will use tariff revenue to cover the Women & Infants, and Children Food Program (WIC) during the Schumer Shutdown.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X:

The Democrats are so cruel in their continual votes to shut down the government that they forced the WIC program for the most vulnerable women and children to run out this week.

Thankfully, President Trump and the White House have identified a creative solution to transfer resources from Section 232 tariff revenue to this critical program.

The Trump White House will not allow impoverished mothers and their babies to go hungry because of the Democrats’ political games.

I believe that the shutdown is a losing issue for Democrats. During the next few days, they will attempt to flip the narrative and blame the shutdown on the Republicans. If that doesn’t work, the shutdown will end.

CNN mentioned that the tariffs land in a “general fund managed by the Treasury Department.”

There Is Nothing Quite So Immortal As A Government Subsidy

One of the reasons the Democrats are refusing to approve an continuing resolution to keep the government open is that they want to restore the spending that got eliminated in the Big Beautiful Bill. That spending includes a continuation of some of the money that was supposed to be temporary spending due to Covid. Just for the record, Congress has passed 36 continuing resolutions to fund the government rather than following the regular budget process since the senator took office in January 2009 (source here). So why is this continuing resolution different? It isn’t. However, the current politics of the Democrat party is different. The government shutdown is the result of the battle between the sane and insane elements of the Democrat party. The insane element is the socialist wing that keeps moving farther left. The sane wing is the old-school Democrat wing that will occasionally bend in order to keep things moving forward.

On Tuesday, Breitbart reported:

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) rejected a one-year extension of Obamacare subsidies, which Breitbart News has reported that Democrats essentially shut down the government over.

The Hill reported that while Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA) is advocating for legislation that would “extend enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credit” until the end of 2026, Jeffries criticized Republicans for thinking “Democrats are going to go along with a one-year extension” of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies:

Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) is pushing legislation to extend enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits, which expire on Jan. 1, through the end of 2026. The proposal has bipartisan support, and some political observers view it as a launching pad for securing a deal to reopen the government.

Jeffries, though, has other ideas, saying a one-year extension is “a non-starter.” He emphasized that President Trump and Republicans had adopted a permanent extension of tax cuts for the country’s wealthiest people earlier in the year. With that in mind, he’s demanding a similarly permanent extension of the enhanced ACA subsidies, which overwhelmingly help working class people.

Actually, if you really wanted to help working class people, you would get rid of the subsidies, let Obamacare die, and get the government out of healthcare. That would help everyone.

The article concludes:

While Democrats argue that “the loss of enhanced subsidies will result in the widespread loss of Americans’ health care,” Michael Cannon, the director of health policy studies for the Cato Institute explained that the enhanced subsidies “subsidize people making from $129,000 all the way up to $600,000 per year.”

Cannon described them as “Obamacare subsidies for the wealthy.”

Here Is A Partial List

The government shutdown continues. The fake news is attempting to blame the Republicans (even though they are the ones who voted to keep the government open). And life continues pretty much as usual for most Americans. So what is the purpose of this exercise? What are the Democrats fighting for?

On Saturday, Legal Insurrection reported:

The main topic of the shutdown debate has been healthcare funding for illegal aliens, but there are some other items that Democrats are demanding, and they will amaze you. These demands are mainly coming from AOC and the socialist wing of the party.

Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana has a way with words, and he recently listed these demands as only he can.

The article quotes The Tampa Free Press:

The list of projects Kennedy claimed Democrats are insisting on restoring includes:

    • $3.6 million for cooking and dance workshops for male prostitutes in Haiti.
    • Over $4.2 million for LGBTQ projects in the Western Balkans and Uganda.
    • $6 million to subsidize Palestinian media outlets.
    • $3 million for circumcision and vasectomies in Zambia.
    • More than $833,000 for transgender people in Nepal.
    • $500,000 to purchase electric buses in Rwanda.
    • $300,000 to sponsor a pride parade in Lesotho.

One of the comments on the Legal Insurrection article pointed out how this actually works. Rather than the money actually going to the country listed for the designated project, it goes to an NGO that supposedly will do whatever the money is slated for. Actually, much of the money allocated will be kicked back to the campaign coffers of whoever directed the money to the NGO. That is one of many reasons the Democrats are fighting so hard to get this money restored.
