Which Police Are Operating In America?

If you are an American living overseas, you don’t expect to be monitored by American police where you live. Unfortunately, that is not the expectation of Chinese citizens living in countries other than China.

On Saturday, The Daily Caller posted an article about a Chinese police station in New York City.

The article reports:

The U.S. government must immediately investigate and shutter the recently discovered overseas Chinese government police station in New York City for potential violation of U.S. laws, several experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

In 2022, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) established secret police stations in over 100 cities around the world to conduct intimidation and harassment operations against overseas Chinese, human rights organization Safeguard Defenders revealed in a September report. While other countries have announced probes into the alleged police stations, the location within American Changle Association — a Chinatown community organization in New York City — continues to operate outside legal boundaries and should be shut down, experts told the DCNF (Daily Caller News Foundation).

“This is a disgrace. How in God’s name could they openly have these communist police stations in our country?” Beau Dietl, a retired NYPD detective and current head of Beau Dietl & Associates private investigation firm, told the DCNF.

The article continues:

“There has been a noticeable uptick in incidents where the Chinese government is targeting people on other nations’ soil,” Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Jim Risch of Idaho, who also serves on the Senate’s intelligence committee, told the DCNF. “This shows the Chinese Communist Party is not afraid to exert its will outside of China, and we should do all that we can to counter this behavior.”

China’s overseas police stations enable the CCP to illegally monitor and oppress dissidents across the globe, Conor Healy, director of government research at the video surveillance research organization IPVM, told the DCNF. “I have met many individuals who have fled China fearing for their lives, who go on to be harassed and threatened in Canada and in the U.S.,” said Healy, who provided testimony on China’s surveillance state during the 2021 Uyghur Tribunal proceedings.

Americans have an option, we can either defend freedom when it is threatened on or shore or we can simply ignore the threats. Explaining The Unexplainable

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was again put in the position of defending something that is indefensible. On Saturday, Townhall posted an article about the most recent statement by President Biden that the Press Secretary has to walk back.

The article reports:

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre released a statement Saturday afternoon in an effort to walk back President Joe Biden’s remarks Friday.

During a campaign stop in California, Biden said, “We’re gonna be shutting these plants down all across America, and having wind and solar.” Jean-Pierre claims Biden’s words, which have simply been quoted and replayed, are being “twisted.”

I really don’t think the words are being “twisted.” I think what the President said is pretty clear and aligns with his actions while he has been in office.

The article continues:

“The President’s remarks yesterday have been twisted to suggest a meaning that was not intended; he regrets it if anyone hearing these remarks took offense. The President was commenting on a fact of economics and technology: as it has been from its earliest days as an energy superpower, America is once again in the midst of an energy transition. Our goal as a nation is to combat climate change and increase our energy security by producing clean and efficient American energy,” the statement says. “He is determined to make sure that this transition helps all Americans in all parts of the country, with more jobs and better opportunities; it’s a commitment he has advanced since Day One. No one will be left behind.”

Senator Manchin is not convinced.

On Saturday, The Conservative Treehouse noted:

Yesterday, Joe Biden declared that all coal-fired electricity plants in the U.S would be shut down, saying, “we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar.”

Today, West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin, the senator who gave Joe Biden the vote he needed for the ‘inflation reduction act’ also known as the climate change investment act that will eliminate all oil, coal and natural gas development, pretends to act surprised that Joe Biden will destroy the West Virginia coal mining industry.

Didn’t the Senator read the bill?

Where Are The Mainstream Media Reports On This?

On Friday, Breitbart posted an article about the attack on Gen. Don Bolduc who is running for the U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.

The article reports:

The establishment media have ignored the physical attack against Republican New Hampshire candidate Gen. Don Bolduc.

The three top establishment newspapers, the New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times, all failed to report the physical attack on Gen. Bolduc that occurred moments before Wednesday’s debate with Democrat Maggie Hassan (D-NH).

…On Wednesday, police arrested 37-year-old Joseph Hart of Greenville, Rhode Island, for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after he took a swing at Gen. Bolduc.

…The attack is still under investigation by police.

Kate Constantini, Bolduc for Senate spokeswoman, told Breitbart News Wednesday night there is no space for political violence. “As the General said on stage tonight, it’s time to lower the temperature of the political discourse in this country,” she stated.

Yet the establishment media have remained silent about the attack and Bolduc’s call for peaceful discourse, instead preferring to report on the attack against Paul Pelosi, which was carried out by an illegal alien.

The article concludes:

The establishment media’s bias was also on display during Wednesday’s debate. The WMUR ABC debate moderators failed to mention the attack before or during the debate.

Conversely, the moderators asked the candidates about the rise in violence against politicians, referencing the January 6 and attack against Paul Pelosi, failing to mention an attack that occurred just minutes before the debate against the Republican candidate.

I guess some violence is more important than others. If you rely on the mainstream media for your news, you are probably uninformed.

This Is What Desperation Looks Like

I am not counting on the big red wave next week. I am hopeful, but not entirely convinced. Part of my hesitation to jump on board the celebration is the caliber of news that most of America listens to and the other part is my lack of confidence in an honest election. However, it does seem as if the Democrats are somewhat worried.

On Saturday, The Gateway Pundit posted an article that contained a recent quote from President Biden.

The article reports:

“I Don’t Know What the Hell They’re Going to Impeach Me For” – Biden Tells SoCal Crowd He’s Going to be Impeached if Republicans Take Back House

First of all, do the Republicans really believe they can get the Senate to vote for impeachment? This would be a really stupid move on the part of a new Congress. I know the two impeachments of President Trump were political theater, but let’s not copy the pettiness of the Democrats. Instead, let’s see if a new Congress can figure out a way to stop the war on fossil fuel, bring back American energy independence, and squash spending to curb inflation. Let the voters impeach Biden/Harris in 2024.

The article concludes:

Joe Biden’s list of impeachable offenses is so long that we don’t know where to start.

A few honorable mentions:

    • Illegal CDC eviction moratorium (Biden admitted on a hot mic it was unconstitutional)
    • Biden’s foreign influence peddling operation with his son Hunter and brother James
    • Biden’s illegal request that the Saudis delay oil production until after the midterms
    • Biden’s open borders policies and refusal to protect the border

I don’t argue that all of those things are impeachable, I just question the wisdom of actually impeaching President Biden and bringing in President Harris. I don’t think I can even imagine how much damage Kamala Harris could do to America when you consider how much damage President Biden has done in less than two years.

Actions Have Consequences

On Friday, President Biden talked about a recent speech he made in Massachusetts. The Conservative Treehouse posted the story.

The article reports:

During a speech today, Joe Biden bragged about the example of his visit to a Massachusetts coal-fired plant that was forced to close due to regulation.  However, what Biden didn’t mention was the energy provider telling customers to expect a 64% increase in electricity rates effective November 1st.

BIDEN: …”I was just — and so we can accommodate that transition.  I was in Massachusetts about a month ago on the site of the largest old coal plant in America.  Guess what?  It cost them too much money.  They can’t count.  No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it, even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of their existence of the plant.  So it’s going to become a wind generation.

And all they’re doing is — it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money, and they’re using the same transmission line that transmitted the coal-fired electric on.  We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar.”… (link) 

If that is true, why is Germany dismantling a wind farm to make room for a coal mine? (article here)

Europe is slightly ahead of America in its quest for green energy, and they are feeling more of the consequences of that quest. As Americans feel the consequences of the bad energy decisions made by the Biden administration, we will likely follow the example of Germany and some other European countries.

Before you blame increased energy prices and inflation on the war in Ukraine, you might want to see this chart from the U.S. Energy Information Administration:

As you can see, gasoline prices started their upward climb after President Biden took office. That was not a coincidence–shutting down pipelines, limiting drilling, and discouraging banks from lending to companies dealing in fossil fuel were all part of the Biden administration’s energy policy. Gas prices had already risen $1 a gallon before Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. The invasion did not  help the situation, but it did not cause the rise in gasoline prices. The inflation we are currently experiencing can be directly linked to the Biden administration’s energy policies and their excessive spending. The only way we change that is to change Congress next week and change the presidency in two years.

The Numbers Are Moving In The Wrong Direction

On Friday, The Daily Caller reported that the unemployment number is up and the workforce participation rate is down. That is exactly opposite of what we would be seeing if the economy were growing.

The article reports:

The unemployment range has hovered between 3.5% to 3.7% since March, and labor force participation has hovered 1.2 percentage points below the pre-pandemic standard set in February 2020, the BLS reported. Monthly job growth has been slowing, with employers adding 372,000 jobs per month in the third quarter of 2022, down from 543,000 in the third quarter of 2021, according to The Wall Street Journal.

…The BLS data contradicts a Wednesday report from payroll firm ADP, which had estimated that the manufacturing sector had cut 20,000 jobs in October. In contrast, the BLS data finds that manufacturers added 32,000 jobs in October, slower than the 37,000 per month average in 2022, but faster than the 30,000 per month seen in 2021.

The Democrats are already claiming that if the Republicans take the house in the mid-term elections, there will be a serious recession. Actually, it doesn’t matter who takes the house in the mid-term elections–there will be a serious recession as a result of the policies put in place by the Biden administration. A Republican Congress may be able to reverse some of these policies, but I am not sure if they will be able to do it fast enough. Meanwhile, after the mid-terms we will probably be dealing with a diesel fuel shortage and severe supply chain problems created by the Biden administration’s energy problems (not by the war in Ukraine).

Your vote matters, and your vote will significantly impact your pocketbook.

Gaslighting The American People

If you listen to the mainstream media, you will hear doubts about the 2020 election characterized as ‘the big lie.’ In 2008, President Obama got nearly 70,000,000 votes; President Trump got approximately 63,000,000 votes in 2016; President Trump got approximately 74,000,000 in 2020; President Biden got approximately 81,000,000 votes. To anyone who watched the rallies held by both men, that does not make sense. It is also telling that out of the 22 counties in America that routinely vote for the winner of a Presidential election, only one of those counties voted for President Biden (source here). There truly is something odd about the 2020 election.

On Friday, The American Thinker posted an article about ‘the big lie.’

The article notes:

With only a few days left until the 2022 midterms, Newsweek laments a new poll by Redfield and Wilton Strategies showing that 40 percent of Americans still believe that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged or stolen.”

This is presented as a shocking revelation about the number of Americans who still buy into the “Big Lie,” despite its “being proven false,” according to the article.

Newsweek buries this particular poll’s more interesting observations.  For example, only 36 percent of respondents disagree that the 2020 election was rigged or stolen.  Of that group, more than one in three find it “understandable” that others might believe that the election was rigged or stolen.  Another 15 percent of respondents neither agreed nor disagreed, and 8 percent signified that they “didn’t know.”

One way to characterize these data is the manner in which Newsweek does, which is to suggest that a horrifying 40 percent of Americans believe in what a bipartisan mainstream media blitz has promoted as “the Big Lie” for nearly two years. 

A far more accurate way to characterize these data, though, is to recognize that there are more Americans confident that the election was rigged than there are Americans who are confident that it was all on the up and up. 

The evidence proving election fraud has never been admitted in court. The courts have blocked it. It can be found on the internet, but you have to look for it. There is obvious evidence of voting rules being changed at the last minute in a way that is not constitutional, and there are some very questionable data transactions in the tallying of votes. The truth will eventually come out, and people will wonder why they believed that there wasn’t fraud.

The article concludes:

But this is the true revelation of that Newsweek poll: though a “well funded cabal of powerful people” still desperately wants you to be ostracized, you are certainly not alone. Three in four Americans are either incapable of saying they are confident that the 2020 election wasn’t rigged or are, at the very least, understanding of how one might question its legitimacy. Only one in four Americans is confident that the election was totally secure and cannot understand how anyone might question its legitimacy.

The campaign we’ve witnessed for two years to present the former group as fringe radicals and the latter group as an incontrovertible consensus is nothing more than gaslighting on a national scale, conducted by that very same “well funded cabal of powerful people” in order to delegitimize, discourage, and destroy its political enemies.

I firmly believe that the truth will come out some day.

 

The Ongoing War On Fossil Fuels

Whoever is currently directing the energy policy for the Biden administration has little of no regard for the common man. Gasoline prices have more than doubled since President Biden took office, and heating costs for the average American are expected to go through the roof this winter. Meanwhile, the Biden administration continues its war on fossil fuel.

On Thursday, The American Thinker posted an article about the Biden administration’s energy policies and their consequences.

The article reports:

On October 19, in the heat of an election campaign, President Biden told the American people, “We need to increase oil production.”  He went on to say, “My administration has not stopped or slowed U.S. oil production.”  It was a disingenuous statement from a man whose sense of reality, fact, and fiction have become an undecipherable narrative.  Biden failed to mention the executive order he issued which stipulates, “the Secretary of the Interior shall pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters.”  This pause is ongoing.  Biden uses the same executive order as an instruction to the secretaries of State, Treasury, Energy, Defense, and Homeland Security, “to organize and deploy the full capacity of its agencies to combat the climate crisis.”

Millions of Americans are employed by businesses supporting the fossil-fuel industry.  Others choose to invest in fossil-fuel businesses.  All Americans rely on fossil fuels to power their businesses, transportation systems, and utilities.  Democrats will destroy these people’s jobs, capital, and imperil the U.S. economy.  The Biden administration decreed that, “we must combat the climate crisis with bold, progressive action that combines the full capacity of the Federal Government with efforts from every corner of our Nation, every level of government, and every sector of our economy.”  By executive order Biden has weaponized the federal bureaucracy to destroy the fossil-fuel industry. 

Please follow the link to read the entire article. The world’s economy depends on fossil fuel, and to destroy the fossil fuel industry is to take down that economy. One of the ways America could rebound from the rapidly increasing inflation would be to begin drilling our way back to energy independence. As soon as gasoline prices began to drop, the cost of goods would begin to drop and the domino effect would begin. I don’t know if there will be enough people in the newly elected Congress to bring back American energy, but that is the ultimate solution to a lot of America’s problems and would also have a positive impact on America foreign policy.

When The Spin And The Facts Disagree

On Wednesday, The Conservative Review noted the Biden administration’s latest claim in their list of accomplishments.

The White House sent out the following Tweet:

Now, normally that might be something to brag about, but there is a catch–the increase in Social Security is linked by law to inflation–the White House has nothing to do with it.

The article notes:

Twitter added a fact check to the tweet, noting that while Seniors will receive an increase in their social security benefits, it’s “due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate.”

CNN’s fact-checker Daniel Dale called the White House’s claim “quite the spin.”

“The size of Social Security checks is linked, by law, to inflation. This year’s increase is unusually big because the inflation rate is unusually big.”

Former President Richard Nixon signed a law into place in 1972 that granted automatic benefit adjustments based on the Consumer Price Index.

Frankly I would be happier with the same amount of Social Security if my dollars were actually worth anything. Inflation is a tax on everyone, and right now we are overtaxed.

Will This Ruling Be Followed?

In October I posted an article quoting The Epoch Times stating:

The Supreme Court on Tuesday vacated an appeals court decision that required Pennsylvania to count mail-in ballots even if there is no date on the envelope.

At the bottom of that article was a link to a Fox News article with the following headline:

Pennsylvania to count undated ballots, election official says, despite US Supreme Court ruling

On November 1, Townhall reported:

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday sided with an argument made by Republicans in their lawsuit seeking to prevent the counting of improperly completed ballots in next week’s general election, throwing out a lower court’s ruling that would have allowed PA election officials to count absentee and mail-in ballots that were not correctly dated and signed.

PA’s Supreme Court justices vacated the 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision that would have allowed the counting of ballots that were not completed as the Keystone State election laws require, and ruled that the “Pennsylvania county boards of elections are hereby ordered to refrain from counting any absentee and mail-in ballots received for the November 8, 2022 general election that are contained in undated or incorrectly dated outer envelopes.”

The PA Supreme Court also in its ruling directed “the Pennsylvania county boards of elections segregate and preserve any ballots contained in undated or incorrectly dated outer envelopes” and noted that the “Court is evenly divided on the issue of whether failing to count such ballots violates 52 U.S.C. §10101(a)(2)(B).”

I want every legal ballot to be counted in this election. I want every illegal ballot thrown out and the people responsible for breaking the law put in jail. It is that simple. That is the way to end election fraud–send people to jail!

This Will Be Very Interesting

Yesterday The Gateway Pundit posted the following headline:

BREAKING: Dr. Fauci Will Be Deposed on November 23rd in Missouri-Louisiana Social Media Collusion Case with Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft as Plaintiff

Jim Hoft at The Gateway Pundit has been one of the reliable sources for information about the Covid pandemic and the effective treatments that the mainstream and social media tried to suppress. The effective treatments that were suppressed oddly enough were the ones where the drugs involved were relatively cheap and the profits of the pharmaceutical companies were not as much as with some of the newer drugs that were less effective.

The article reports:

The Gateway Pundit previously reported in May that Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, along with Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, filed a lawsuit (Missouri v. Biden) against the Biden Administration, including Biden himself, Anthony Fauci, the Department of Homeland Security and nearly a dozen federal agencies and Secretaries.

The suit alleges a massive coordinated effort by the Deep State (permanent administrative state) to work with Big Tech to censor and manipulate Americans – from average citizens to news outlets – on issues including the Hunter Biden Laptop from Hell, 2020 Election Integrity, COVID-19 origin and extent skepticism, COVID-19 vaccine skepticism, among other issues.

…In June, The Gateway Pundit began assisting Missouri AG Schmitt’s team and providing critical evidence of Facebook and Twitter censorship of the Gateway Pundit on all of these issues.

The article details the development of the case:

As we reported, the turning point came in September when Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg admitted in a Joe Rogan interview that Facebook algorithmically censored the Hunter Biden Laptop for 7 days following a request from the FBI to censor election “misinformation.”  

…Zuckerberg’s admission came after the Missouri v. Biden lawsuit forced Facebook to turn over documents – he was going to end up admitting it anyway.

It constituted a turning point in the battle for the preservation of the First Amendment and Free Speech in America.  His admission proved that the US Government and Big Tech coordinated to censor speech.

Previously, the government’s lawyers kept trying to portray all of this as a conspiracy theory.

NOPE. NOW, IT’S A CONSPIRACY FACT.

The Missouri Attorney General’s Office caught the Biden Administration red-handed. 

If the current Congress will not hold Dr. Fauci or the media accountable, then individual states need to take action.

 

Selective Memory On Display

Yesterday The Daily Caller posted an article about political violence in America. Townhall also posted an article yesterday that included President Biden’s comments on political violence in America.

Townhall reported on President Biden’s speech:

During his remarks, which were made without glaring communist red lights and U.S. Marines standing the background, Biden made a number of references to January 6 and the nudist attack on Paul Pelosi. He then oddly attempted to portray himself and Democrats as unifiers interested in getting along with their political opponents.

Biden then falsely accused Republicans of oppressing voters. Currently in Georgia, voter turnout has hit records rivaling presidential election levels after Republicans passed voter integrity laws in the state last year. 

That doesn’t sound like someone who is seeking unity.

The Daily Caller reported:

The media appears to have rediscovered political violence the morning of October 28 when news broke that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul was attacked by a hammer-wielding mad man in their California home.

I would like to add two more. On October 27th, The New York Post reported that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has experienced sixth “swatting” episodes since August. Yesterday Breitbart reported that Republican Gen. Don Bolduc was physically attacked by an unknown individual before the Wednesday debate with Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan.

If the President keeps telling Americans that Americans who support President Trump are a threat to our democracy (we are not a democracy–we are a representative republic), what does he expect?

 

Avoiding The Mistake Of The Wellstone Memorial

What happened to Paul Pelosi was awful. No one should be attacked by a person with a hammer in their own house. There are a lot of questions as to exactly what went on, but for the moment I am going to avoid them.

The media and many in the Democrat Party have used the attack to condemn the Republicans for ‘hate speech’ which they deem responsible for the attack. But let’s look at some of the recent statements and actions of Democrats.

In June 2018, CNN reported:

The California Democrat (Maxine Waters) and vehement critic of President Donald Trump made the comments on Saturday, first at a rally in Los Angeles and later in a television interview. The comments, which come after several Trump administration officials have been recently protested at restaurants, have raised fresh questions about the state of American political discourse and were seized on by Trump for political gain.

“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere. We’ve got to get the children connected to their parents,” Waters said at the Wilshire Federal Building, according to video of the event.

Was that hate speech? When Steve Scalise was shot by someone who worked on the Bernie Sanders campaign, was that hate speech?

Politicizing the Paul Pelosi attack is risky on many levels. There are too many unanswered questions about the attack–why were the security cameras turned off, how did the attacker get into a community with its own security force, why didn’t the security system react, why was the glass broken from the inside and the fact that the attacker was an illegal alien with no conservative political ties.

Democrats would do well to remember the Wellstone Memorial–not one of their finer moments.

In 2002, The New York Post reported:

WHAT possessed them? How could Minnesota’s Democrats have been so foolish as to turn a memorial meeting for eight people tragically killed in a plane crash into a campaign rally for the United States Senate?

The Paul Wellstone memorial pep rally will be recorded as one of the supreme mistakes in recent political history – an entirely avoidable and unnecessary fiasco.

Just how big a fiasco? Jesse Ventura, the state’s independent governor, said he felt “violated” by the four-hour event. Ventura said he was considering the appointment of a non-Democrat to fill out the remainder of Wellstone’s Senate term, which lasts until the beginning of the new year.

That’s very significant. Why? Because the U.S. Senate will be meeting again after Election Day in a lame-duck session that will last four weeks or so. If Ventura’s lame-duck appointment were to line up with the Republicans, he would throw them control of the Senate for the first time since 2001.

Turning a tragedy into a political event can easily backfire. The Democrats need to be very careful in handing the attack on Paul Pelosi. (Just as a side note–Ted Kennedy was supposed to be on the airplane with Paul Wellstone, but decided at the last minute not to take the plane.)

Big Brother Is In Control Of Most Social Media

It may be years before we fully appreciate what Elon Musk has done by buying Twitter. He may have put a stake in the ground to protect Americans from government-controlled media.

On Monday, The Daily Caller reported the following:

The Department of Homeland Security has left open a special feature that allows government officials to flag Facebook posts for misinformation after scrapping a controversial advisory board tasked with developing guidelines for social media censorship, the Intercept reported Monday.

DHS announced plans for a Disinformation Governance Board to “develop guidelines, standards, guardrails to ensure that the work that has been ongoing for nearly 10 years does not infringe on people’s free speech rights, rights of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in May, according to The Hill. While DHS shuttered the initiative after an onslaught of bipartisan opposition decrying the potential censorship, the Intercept found through an analysis of public and leaked documents that government efforts to police tech companies goes on.

On Tuesday, The Western Journal reported:

Twitter and other social media platforms have been cozy with the Department of Homeland Security to squelch what DHS calls “misinformation,” “disinformation” and “malinformation,” or “MDM,” according to an investigative report published Monday by The Intercept.

Job one for Musk was to not only fire CEO Parag Agrawal but also Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s top lawyer and the individual responsible for booting former President Donald Trump off the platform and for censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story in the run-up to the 2020 election.

You probably remember a few months ago when DHS rolled out what it called its Disinformation Governance Board, designed to go after “MDM” on social media. A firestorm of bad publicity meant the Biden administration had to quickly yank it offstage.

But the concept is still around and Gadde has been part of it.

At Some Point This Has To End

Former President Trump has to be one of the most investigated men in America’s history. The Washington establishment is obsessed with finding him guilty of something while ignoring obvious questionable actions by family members of the current administration. There is a rumor that President Trump will be indicted for something (anything!) after the mid-term elections. Anything to keep him from running for President again. Meanwhile, the search for a crime continues.

On Tuesday, The Epoch Times reported the following:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Nov. 1 blocked Congress from obtaining former President Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Chief Justice John Roberts, a George W. Bush appointee, stayed an appeals court order that had ruled a congressional panel could gain access to the documents.

Trump filed an emergency application on Monday to the Supreme Court, asking it to halt the order.

Roberts’ stay is temporary, pending further developments in the case.

Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, has for years been trying to obtain Trump’s returns, asserting that they are necessary as the panel considers possibly updating how audits of presidents are done.

Trump said that the true purpose is to release the returns to the public.

Neal is not seeking the records of any other president, and has said that “unraveling President Trump’s sophisticated tax avoidance” was one of the reasons he thought Trump should release his returns.

If we can see President Trump’s tax returns, let’s see all of Congress’ tax returns. It seems only fair since they are asking to see his.

U.S. Circuit Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson, a George H.W. Bush appointee, offered a concurring opinion in which she diverged from her colleagues on one point.

“Although I agree with my colleagues that the burdens imposed on the Presidency by the Committee’s Request do not rise to the level of a separation-of-powers violation, I conclude that the burdens borne by the Executive Branch are more severe and warrant much closer scrutiny than my colleagues have given them,” she said, adding later that the potential of Congress to threaten a sitting president with a post-presidency request “in order to influence the President while in office should not be dismissed so quickly.”

Roberts ordered Neal and other respondents, including the IRS, to respond to Trump’s application on or before Nov. 10 by noon.

A spokesperson for Neal did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Roberts received the application because he oversees the District of Columbia appeals court.

Roberts can decide on the application himself or refer the matter to the full Supreme Court.

I don’t think the President should be forced to release his tax returns unless Congress is forced to release theirs.

Did Anyone Think These People Were Objective?

On Sunday, Newsbusters reported the following:

CBS’s Sunday Morning started off with their anchor Jane Pauley fearmongering that if Republicans win in the 2022 midterm elections, “democracy” could end in the United States. Plugging an upcoming segment by correspondent Robert Costa, Pauley fretted that “the very future of our democracy” is on the ballot in 2022. 

First of all–we are not a democracy–we are a representative republic. Secondly, most democracies don’t have political prisoners and police raids on people who disagree with the people in power. That has been a trait of the Biden administration–it did not happen under President Trump.

The article notes:

Later on, Costa interviewed leftist propagandist and faux journalist Margaret Sullivan about the mythical threats to democracy by Republicans.

“The Republican Party is gripped by people who are election deniers. How should the press contend with that? It’s happening inside one particular party,” Costa whined. 

Weren’t Stacy Abrams and Hillary Clinton election deniers? Were they ever reported as a ‘threat to democracy’?

The article continues:

“We hold both parties to the same standards, but when one party is the one who is doing this very troubling thing, we need to be straightforward about that. And if it causes criticism from the right, that’s okay,” Sullivan managed to say with a straight face.

Costa then asked her “how does the press cover it without sounding alarmist at every step?”

In response, Sullivan unironically insisted that the media hasn’t been “nearly alarmist enough” when talking about “threats to democracy.”

She added that “we need to stop being asleep at the switch and sound the alarm more about what could happen if election denialists are in power and decide, well, we only like the results of this election, but not that one. I mean, we no longer have a country anymore.”

Evidently, it’s only okay to deny elections when Republicans win.

We Need To End This Practice

On Friday, American Greatness reported the following:

A new peer-reviewed study has revealed the true extent of efforts to promote life-altering “gender transition” surgeries to children, with a staggering increase in “top surgeries” altering children’s chest areas over the last several years.

The Daily Caller reports that the study, conducted by Dr. Galen Perdikis, Dr. Salam Al Kasis, and Rishub Karan Das, determined that between the years 2016 and 2019, “the annual number of gender-affirming chest surgeries increased by 389 percent.” The study was published by the pediatric network of the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) on October 17th.

The 389 percent increase translates to roughly 1,130 total surgeries performed on children under the age of 18, according to the study. “Top surgery” refers to the alteration of a child’s chest area, most commonly involving girls having their breasts removed because they believe they are boys. As such, the study shows that the vast majority of cases involved girls, with 1,114 of the surgeries being performed on females, with the remaining 16 involving boys receiving artificial breasts to appear feminine.

“Psychiatric conditions were the most common comorbidities,” the study reported. “21.1 percent of patients had anxiety and 16.2 percent had depression. Only 19.9 percent of adolescents who underwent chest reconstruction used gender-affirming hormone therapy.”

The article concludes:

“Transgenderism” is the debunked ideology that falsely claims there are more than two genders, and that anyone can suddenly change their gender at any time. Advocates of transgenderism have called for allowing underaged children to make their own decisions about their body and gender identity without the consent of their parents, and thus to undergo such procedures as surgeries and hormone-blocking therapy, which are known to cause irreversible mental and physical damage.

This medical practice is harming our children. It needs to be stopped immediately. If an adult chooses to attempt to change their gender identity, they are old enough to make that decision. However, a child should not be allowed to make such a major, irreversible decision on their own.

Sometimes Threats Don’t Mean Much

On Monday, The Washington Examiner reported that some of the threats made against states who have passed pro-life legislation since Roe v. Wade was overturned are not going to be carried out.

The article reports:

Eli Lilly and Company has tacitly backed down on its threat to punish Indiana for its pro-life law, which the pharmaceutical corporation promised to do this summer.

Last week, Lilly announced a $92.5 million investment in Purdue University to create a talent pipeline of college students over the next 10 years. The company’s CEO, David Ricks, said the partnership will “help to keep our state’s best and brightest in Indiana, furthering Lilly’s ability to make life better for millions of people.”

That’s a far cry from Eli Lilly’s blustering talk in August after Gov. Eric Holcomb signed legislation that closed down all abortion facilities and banned 98% of abortions after 10 weeks of pregnancy.

The abortion law “will hinder Lilly’s — and Indiana’s — ability to attract diverse scientific, engineering and business talent from around the world,” the company claimed in August.

…The company’s website further shows it does not plan any time soon to open up other facilities in pro-abortion states. Only 12 of the company’s 277 U.S. jobs are outside of Indiana, which proves Lilly bluffed about expanding elsewhere.

While the Indiana law is pending legal challenges, the company did not wait until those were resolved to announce its new funding at Purdue.

The article concludes:

Companies start, grow, or relocate to conservative states because of low taxes, reasonable regulations, and an overall business-friendly environment.

While they may boast and bluster in the media when all the attention is on them, they are nothing more than paper tigers when it comes to putting their unrelated political stances ahead of their bottom line and duty to shareholders.

Pro-life states do not need to fear corporations taking jobs away over legislation to protect innocent human life, and Eli Lilly proves that.

At some point in the future, unlimited abortion will not be a winning issue. We know from scientific advances that the child killed in an abortion in a child. There may have been some doubt about that when Roe v. Wade was passed–there is no doubt now. We need to understand that a pregnancy is a blessing even in difficult circumstanced, and we need to help women through those difficult circumstances whenever possible.

In December 2021, the Census Bureau reported:

The U.S. population grew at a slower rate in 2021 than in any other year since the founding of the nation, based on historical decennial censuses and annual population estimates.

That  is not a sign of a growing nation.
