Good News For Americans

On October 4th, Just the News reported that America’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports hit a record high in September. America exported 9.4 million metric tons, up from a previous record 9.3 million metric tons in August.

The article reports:

The United States was the world’s largest liquefied natural gas exporter in 2024, with Louisiana accounting for about 61% of total LNG shipments. Texas, the second biggest exporter, was the source of about 31% of the U.S. LNG shipped overseas in 2024.

Weekly data compiled by Bloomberg shows 81 LNG tankers departed Louisiana export terminals between Sept. 3 and October 1, representing 67% of total U.S. shipments during the four-week period. The data shows 35 LNG tankers departed Texas export facilities during the same four weeks, while three shipments left terminals in Virginia and Georgia, according to Bloomberg.

Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass facility in Cameron Parish, the world’s largest export terminal with capacity of 29.5 million tons per year, shipped 32 cargos in September.

…Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has advanced U.S. “energy dominance” through executive orders and policies that streamline the permitting process on LNG projects and reduce regulatory burdens on existing export facilities.

Commonwealth’s LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, was authorized in February to export up to 1.21 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day to non-FTA countries and in August Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass LNG project was approved for an increase in liquefaction capacity from 12.0 to 12.4 million tons per year.

In May, the DOE issued a final authorization to Sempra Energy’s Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project that allows exports to countries that do not have free trade agreements with the United States.

Energy independence or ‘energy dominance’ is not simply an economic issue. Europe receives 66% of all LNG shipments from American ports. This is LNG that they are not forced to buy from Russia or other sources not necessarily in line with their political agenda. When America is ‘energy dominant,’ it is free to make diplomatic decisions based on its own interests rather than worrying about its supply of energy being cut off as it was in the 1970’s. It is also free to supply energy to help support other free nations around the world. ‘Energy dominance’ is a really good thing for America.

The Real Purpose

On Monday, Newsbusters posted an article about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) which has turned out to be anything but affordable.

The article reports:

Hold on to your britches because you’re not going to believe this one. The Washington Post Editorial Board just admitted that the so-called “Affordable Care Act,” one the most notorious pieces of Obama-era legislation foisted upon consumers by legislators and the liberal media as the saving grace of American health care, turned out to be an expensive mess.

The Post tried to play both sides of the fence in the ongoing government shutdown stand off with Republicans and Democrats, the latter of which demanded “Republicans agree to extend the Covid-era insurance subsidies without proposing any way to pay for it.” Then The Post ran one of the biggest plot twists ever to hit American politics in the last 15 years: “The real problem is that the Affordable Care Act [Obamacare] was never actually affordable.”

Nope, your eyes didn’t deceive you. The architects of former President Barack Obama’s 2010 “signature achievement,” wrote The Post, “assumed that risk pools would be bigger than they turned out to be. As a result, policies cost more than expected.”

Gee, that’s an awfully different tone than the liberal rag was striking in 2024 when the editorial board celebrated how “Obamacare is working brilliantly — for now.” That’s despite the fact that premiums for individual market plans doubled in costs and “the per enrollee cost of Medicaid expansion is nearly 60 percent greater than what experts projected,” as the Paragon Health Institute summarized in an October 2024 study.

The article concludes:

But now, the years of nonstop pro-Obamacare gaslighting and narrative-twisting that got spewed out of The Post’s printers seems to have been undone by, er, The Post itself:

This is how entitlement programs work. Once you habituate people to some generous government handout, they grow dependent on it. And it becomes politically perilous, if not impossible, to fully claw it back.”

That is how the Democrat Party works. Install entitlement, blame Republicans when anyone tries to limit it in any way.

Obamacare was never supposed to work–its purpose was to bring America closer to government-controlled (and allocated) healthcare. Why should Americans be able to get surgery quickly when needed when Britain and Canada wait months and sometimes years for necessary surgery. We knew someone in Britain that died during his second year of waiting for heart surgery. We don’t want that in America.

We Remember

Today, as peace talks continue, we remember October 7th, 2023. We need to remember who started this war and who violated the ‘rules of war.’ We also need to remember that stalling for time is a military strategy. Please pray for peace and for the safe return of the hostages.

Actions Have Consequences

In his book, The Art of War, Sun Tzu states,  “Know your enemy and know yourself.” It also pays to know when your enemy has morphed from something you could simply roll over easily into something much more formidable. I believe that this is the mistake the Democrats have made in creating a government shutdown.

On Sunday, PJ Media reported:

The Schumer Shutdown is dragging into its second week, and President Donald Trump is done waiting for Democrats to come around. The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification? They’re insisting on reopening the loophole closed by the One Big Beautiful Bill, which had prevented taxpayer dollars from funding health care for illegal immigrants. On top of that, they’re pushing to spend billions on other radical left-wing priorities.

After years of bureaucratic bloat, Trump’s team views this as a moment to permanently streamline the federal workforce, cutting costs and reshaping agencies that have long outgrown their usefulness.

This shutdown is more than a budget dispute—it’s a test of priorities. The White House is protecting taxpayers and forcing accountability. Democrats, meanwhile, are digging in on giveaways that benefit the few at the expense of the many. The question now is simple: will Democrats end this shutdown before more Americans lose their jobs, or will they keep the lights off in Washington until they get free healthcare for people who aren’t even citizens? The clock is ticking, and Trump just made it clear he’s willing to let them live with the consequences of their choice.

Ending Partisan Partnerships

On Monday, American Greatness reported that FBI Director Kash Patel has ended the partnership between the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This is good news. The ADL is not a neutral player.

The article reports:

FBI Director Kash Patel has formally cut ties with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) that were enacted under former director James Comey, saying, “The FBI won’t partner with political fronts masquerading as watchdogs.”

Patel accused Comey of writing “love letters” to the ADL and of embedding FBI agents within the group that has recently been under fire from Republican lawmakers for listing Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organization as an extremist group.

The ADL had described TPUSA as being tied to, “a range of right-wing extremists and has generated support from anti-Muslim bigots, alt-lite activists and some corners of the white supremacist alt-right.”

The article notes:

The FBI also announced that it is cutting its ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) over the organization’s history of labeling conservative groups and individuals as extremists.

America First Legal, a conservative nonprofit law firm, has documented the close coordination between the SPLC and the former Biden Justice Department, including training and data access.

Both the ADL and SPLC are accused of flagging political targets for the Biden DOJ  and contributing to the weaponization of government against parents who spoke out against school boards or activists who peacefully protested near abortion clinics.

The FBI has been arresting criminals (as they are supposed to do) since President Trump took office. As of March, the FBI had arrested three people on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List. During 2024, the Biden administration arrested none of the Ten Most Wanted. Obviously, the focus of the FBI needed to change, and it has.

What They Really Wanted

The raid on Mar-a-Lago in April 2022 was puzzling in some ways. The FBI had never before raided a former President’s home, particularly when negotiations for documents were ongoing. The raid included pictures (which we later learned were staged) of numerous documents said to be highly classified. But the raid never really made sense. Now we are learning the actual reason behind the raid (other than to discredit President Trump).

Sperry had his Twitter account taken down that week after he tweeted about the Mar-a-Lago raid and what the FBI was allegedly looking for. The crooked FBI and DOJ was hoping to find and destroy documents to prevent Americans from seeing their criminal acts and attempted coup of the sitting US President.

According to Paul Sperry, the FBI agents spent 9 hours looking for details President Trump took with him on the Crossfire Hurricane FBI spying scandal.

It’s a very damning report that showed what? That Russia didn’t think that Trump was going to win, which I think we all know. Once again, just common sense in ’16, why would the Russians be helping someone that they didn’t think was going to win?

Common Sense Is Slowly Arriving

My Mom, a child of the Depression and a young adult during World War 2, even in the Reagan era, was not a fan of the legacy media, then, pretty much the only media. She didn’t trust them too much, and she was fond of an (apocryphal) quote from WW2, from U.S. Navy Admiral William “Bull” Halsey, who, when asked by an aide what he should tell the press about an upcoming operation, replied, “Tell them nothing. When it’s over, tell them who won.”

That’s how military communications should be carried out. There’s a level of security that should be taken for granted, and that means, in certain cases, such as an ongoing operation, telling the media only what they need to know, when they need to know it.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth gets it. To that end, he has now put an end to the media wandering around the Pentagon, unbadged and unchecked.

We need to remember that when the military invaded the island of Grenada to end the Russian footprint there, the press was not even informed until three hours after the invasion began (source here). Many Americans blamed the press for the loss of the Vietnam war. Certainly, the enemy propaganda the American press blindly repeated did play a role.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has stated:

“The Pentagon press corps can SQUEAL all they want! We’re taking these things seriously.”

“We’re not allowing everybody to roam around the building. You know, that was the policy before. If you were a Pentagon reporter, you could just walk around the building.”

“No badge, no escort, no nothing. Walk into offices, talk to anybody, who knows where there’s classified information. We’re making the rules more like you might say the White House.”

“If you want to move around the building, you’re going to have a badge. It’s going to be clear. You’re going to be escorted when you do so. And we have expectation that you’re not soliciting classified or sensitive information.”

“The American people see things like that as absolute common sense.”

I think the Secretary of War is acting like a Secretary of War.

The View From The Lair

Mary reminded me that I have been remiss is providing my rants. She is quite correct; however personal issues have interfered. I won’t whine here; I do enough of that to my wife. My daily mantra (okay, throughout the day) is “Suck it up Buttercup. The only easy day was yesterday.”
BUT! I have to say that I was IMMENSELY pleased and offer a HUGE THANK YOU to the Senate Minority leader, one Charles Scheemer!
Of course he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. He was responding to the Marxists on his immediate left. GIVE NO GROUND! MEDICAL CARE FOR ILLEGALS! REFUND NPR!
As if the normals in this country actually support such bullschiff. Apparently, he was asleep last November when the country overwhelming voted for PDJT. Normals don’t like their tax dollars and other borrowed funds (plus interest) being used to give medical care to people who shouldn’t be here in the first place. Nor do they want those same dollars used to support indoctrination over the public airwaves. Or any of the other marxist schemes that was included in the Demonrat 1.5 TRILLION dollar addition to the continuing resolution to keep the government running.
So the gubbermint is shut down. Sort of. But that’s a GOOD THING! As several people wiser than I have warned, (but I can learn from them) anytime the government is functioning, your money and your freedoms are in danger. Marxists believe that the gubbermint is absolutely necessary for life as we know it to continue. Not even close. I bought gasoline yesterday. My wife bought groceries today. As well as booze. Drug stores and hardware stores are open. Banks are open. Wall Street is soaring!
There is nothing that a “closed” gubbermint prevents me from accomplishing. Everything that is mandated by legislation is continuing.
That includes the Social Security payments and the Postal Service.
BUT! And this is the good part. All of those “non-critical” parts of the gubbermint are shut down. And since they don’t have funding to justify their existence…why not turn them off? For everyone reading this that has operated a business, how many “non-critical” employees did you keep on the payroll? Okay, how many non-critical, non-family member employees did you keep on the payroll? I suspect not many. And, yes, I recognize “special” circumstances. But that’s in private business. Such special” situations don’t belong on the gubbermint payroll. So, this is the perfect time to remove them. Only a few gubbermint employees. The current estimate is only around 750,000. But it is a good start. Not all of them will go, of course. Some them are actually functional and some aren’t active members of the Deep State. The other benefit is the vast majority of them vote for Marxists. So, we can be rid of non-critical, mostly non-functioning TDS Deep State employees. That’s the multi-functional useful aspect of the shutdown.
Of course, Chucky Scheemer didn’t want this to happen at all. But the left wingnut hard Marxist coalition of his party wanted the shutdown so they could blame it on the Republicans….but uh oh..that isn’t happening. The Demonrats are responsible and even the Lame Stream Media are acknowledging it as such. And A-O-C is aiming to primary Ol’ Chucky. So, he has to prove he actually has cojones by shutting down the gubbermint. He gets to lose both ways. He looks bad to the country and he looks weak to his constituents. But they are in New York, so that may not matter.

The Arrest Numbers

According to whatever AI comes up when you ask the question, “In the United States, about 68% of released prisoners are arrested again within three years, and this rate increases to over 80% for those with juvenile records.” So logically, if you can keep those 68 per cent in prison, the crime rate will go down. That seems to be the plan of the Trump administration.

On Thursday, Just the News reported:

The FBI on Thursday announced that its efforts to crack down on violent crime nationwide had yielded more than 8,600 arrests over the span of three months, and the seizure of over 2,200 guns.

The bureau conducted “Operation Summer Heat” from June 24 through September 20, which featured teams from all 55 FBI field offices and other law enforcement partners. The initiative cracked down on violent crime in major U.S. cities. 

FBI Director Kash Patel said the operation netted 8,629 arrests,  and the seizure of 2,281 guns and 44,559 kilograms of cocaine. It also took 421 kilograms of fentanyl off the streets.

“We are not messing around,” Patel said in a statement. “Our number one mission is crushing violent crime. If you hurt a child, we’re coming for you. If you jack a car, we’re coming for you. If you’re polluting our neighborhoods with deadly drugs, we’re coming for you.”

The FBI said that of the 8,629 arrests, 6,500 fell under the FBI’s Violent Crime and Gang program. The bureau and its partners also rescued over 1,000 children and 10 field offices arrested over 30 fugitives that were wanted for murder. 

We need a place to put these people where they are not a threat to society. Prison needs to be a place where you don’t want to go. Our current prisons with weight rooms, libraries, televisions, and other amenities are not doing the job. We need prisons where prisoners work eight hours a day and go back to their cells too tired to create problems. Prison needs not to be a comfortable (but lawless) place where all of your needs are provided for.

Destroying Equal Opportunity

On Thursday, The New York Post reported that Mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani has said that he will phase out the gifted and talented programs in the New York City schools.

The article reports:

Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for mayor, said Thursday he would eliminate the accelerated learning program at the kindergarten level, something that’s likely to anger parents, who have been passionately divided on the issue.

The gifted classes would remain active through the school year, but would no longer be available next fall, he said.

Critics have attacked the coveted learning model as racist due to the higher number of white and Asian students that gain entry through the exam.

Maybe it’s time to examine the cultural factors behind the fact that white and Asian students do better on the exam. Let’s look at family structure, family discipline, parental involvement in a child’s education, etc. I remember one of my daughter’s classmates in Massachusetts who began preparing for the SAT’s in seventh or eighth grade. I think that’s a bit excessive, but the child did very well.

The article notes:

Danyela Souza, vice president of Community Education Council 2 in Manhattan, and a fellow at the Manhattan Institute think tank who tracks education, flunked the plan, saying it could spark an exodus from the city public school system.

“Mamdani is eliminating opportunities for low and middle income students to access an advanced education,” Souza, a public school parent, told The Post.

The article concludes:

“Parents are going to look to private schools or charter schools as an option or they’re going to move out of the city. You have one chance to educate your child.”

Mamdani’s two general election opponents — independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, also slammed his plan.

“Eliminating opportunities for excellence doesn’t help underserved kids, it perpetuates the problem. It creates a false equality, by eliminating any opportunity to excel,” Cuomo said.

“The Democratic ideal has always been about providing more opportunities for historically marginalized students to access these programs—not eliminating academic excellence altogether.”

Sliwas, during a press event Thursday, said, “I would not only maintain the gifted and talented as I saw up close and personal, I would expand it.”

He noted that Mamdani did “outstandingly well” at Bronx HS of Science, where students need strong scores on a single-test exam to get in.

“So he benefited from all that, but he wants to deprive young children who need advanced courses,” Sliwa said.

Great schools for me, but not for thee.

Some Common Sense On The Peace Deal

Pamela Geller posted an article at The Geller Report with her analysis of the peace deal that has been reached with Hamas. I am not really sure a peace deal has been reached, but that is what most of the media is reporting. There is a concept in Islam called “Hudna.” Translated loosely, it means calling a truce so that you can re-arm.

The article reports:

Hamas’s response was delivered hours after Trump threatened Hamas in a post on Truth Social. They have dictated their terms for a hudna (temporary truce Islam  in order to rearm.)

Here is Hamas’s response. It appears to be written by a cabal of far-left international lawyers.

Hamas has agreed to release the hostages (if you believe what they say) but they insist on being part of the decisions for the future and governance of Gaza. They’re starting to take apart the plan, like they always do.

Actually, I think Hamas simply wants the invasion of Gaza to stop. They will discuss further details while they re-arm.

Mistaken Identity?

On September 29 (updated September 30), Newsweek posted an article about the firebombing of Ice Cube crew’s tour bus in Portland, Oregon. There is speculation that the person who placed the firebomb thought that the bus had something to do with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE).

The article reports:

Initial reports allege that the attack was instigated by protesters who mistakenly identified the vehicle—due to its prominent “ICE” letters—as belonging to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. According to The Times of India newspaper, a group believed to be associated with Antifa threw incendiary devices at the bus, causing significant exterior damage but not causing any injuries.

Why It Matters

The firebombing has raised concerns about protest violence, mistaken identity and public safety at large concert events. The incident, reportedly motivated by a misunderstanding involving a bus’ “ICE” lettering, highlights the risks facing touring artists and their crews amid a polarized American social climate. Law enforcement is actively investigating, while Ice Cube’s response emphasizes composure and resilience in the face of property damage and mistaken protest targeting. No injuries were reported, but the event has sparked debate over protest tactics and the safety of high-profile performers.

President Trump told Oregon Governor Tina Kotek that 200 members of the Oregon National Guard were being federalized, placing them under his command. Since then, the move has received broad pushback from officials in Portland, who say troops are unnecessary and detrimental to their efforts.

First of all, we need smarter protesters. Second of all, we need protesters who follow the law when protesting. Protesting is legal. Destroying property is not legal. Based on the videos coming out of Portland, the troops are necessary.

Good News

I am writing this on Saturday afternoon. The Epoch Times has just reported that Hamas has agreed to release all hostages in accordance with U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan.

The article reports:

The group also said it has accepted parts of the peace proposal to end the war in Gaza, including giving up power, but noted that other provisions would require further consultations among Palestinians.

The announcement came after Trump gave Hamas until Oct. 5 to accept a deal to end the war between the terrorist group and Israel and release all the hostages. Trump announced the deadline in a post on Truth Social on Oct. 3.

…Hamas said it welcomed Trump’s proposal but sought clarification on certain provisions, adding that it would release all living hostages and hand over the bodies of those who have died.

I will admit to being more than a little skeptical. However, there may be some very good reasons for this. When the Arab nations joined with President Trump on the peace proposal, Hamas lost the public relations war. That is the only war they had a chance of winning. If the blockades have been successful, Hamas must be looking at a dwindling supply of ammunition, and I suspect their terrorists/soldiers are concerned about what will happen on October 6th. I will be surprised if this goes smoothly, but I also expect Israel to react without hesitation if it doesn’t. This needs to be watched closely.

Common Sense Invades The Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI)

On October 3rd, The Daily Signal reported that the FBI has severed all ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC kept a hate map of groups it considered hate groups. Oddly enough, a lot of the groups on that map were simply family-oriented or conservative political groups. One of those groups, a Christian nonprofit called the Family Research Council was attacked by a gunman in its headquarters in August 15, 2012, after he saw the group on the SPLC’s hate map. The FRC was placed on the hate map because it did not support the homosexual agenda. The attack was thwarted by FRC building manager Leo Johnson, who was shot in the arm, but survived.

The article at The Daily Signal reports:

The FBI has confirmed that it severed all ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center, a far-left activist group that puts conservatives and Christians on a “hate map” along with Ku Klux Klan chapters. The “hate map” has inspired at least one terrorist attack against a conservative organization.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,” FBI Director Kash Patel told The Daily Signal in a statement Friday. “Their so-called hate map has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence.”

“That disgraceful record makes them unfit for any FBI partnership,” Patel added.

The man who opened fire at a Republican practice session for the Congressional Baseball Game in 2017, nearly killing then-House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, had “liked” the SPLC on Facebook. The SPLC condemned that attack, as well.

The SPLC added Turning Point USA to the “hate map” mere months before an assassin with a transgender boyfriend allegedly murdered Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

The SPLC condemned the attack, but has not removed Turning Point USA from the “hate map.”

A bureau official told The Daily Signal that the FBI was aware that the “hate map” included Turning Point USA before the shooting.

Big Tech companies like Amazon have used the “hate map” to screen recipients for its former AmazonSmile program, where customers could designate a portion of their purchases go to support certain charities and other nonprofits. Companies like Eventbrite, PayPal, and Hyatt Hotels have relied on the SPLC’s “hate” accusations to decide who they will allow to use their platforms and facilities. Donor networks worth billions have pledged to keep charitable funds from going to SPLC-labeled “hate groups.”

The SPLC enjoys this impact despite multiple scandals. The center fired its co-founder and saw its president resign in a 2019 racial discrimination and sexual harassment scandal. Amid that scandal, SPLC staff created a union that is part of a union organization that represents the radical anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace. And amid a round of layoffs last year, the SPLC Union accused the center of engaging in “union-busting.”

Despite its penurious name, the SPLC has an endowment of more than $700 million, compensates its leaders handsomely, and possesses more than $30 million in offshore accounts, according to IRS filings.

Finally, the SPLC has troubling ties to Antifa, the loosely-organized movement of far-left agitators that President Donald Trump recently declared a domestic terrorist group.

It is good news that the government will no longer work with the SPLC to target innocent Americans and groups of Americans.

The Impact Of The Biden Administration On The Poor

The Biden administration was economically rough for most Americans. Inflation skyrocketed, wages did not keep up, and jobs growth (after the real numbers came out) was slow. On October 3rd, Issues & Insights posted an article providing some concrete information about the impact of the Biden administration.

The article reports:

Even before he was president, Biden was fond of demanding that the rich pay their “fair share,” which makes a snappy sound bite but leaves open exactly what a “fair share” is and who gets to decide what rates are “fair.”

Fortunately, Biden never got his billionaire tax.

But he did succeed in making life more difficult for the poor. Both the overall and child poverty rates swelled while he was in office. The overall poverty rate grew by 40.2% from 2020 to 2024. The child poverty rate spiked by 38.1% over that same period.

“If you choose 2019 as your point of comparison, the increase in poverty under Biden is bad. If you choose 2020, it’s catastrophic,” says Jacobin magazine, which considers itself “a leading voice of the American left” that offers a “socialist perspective.”

As it happens, 2019 was the year Biden told “rich donors at a ritzy New York fundraiser” that poverty was “the one thing that can bring this country down.” Salon said he “listed several new programs to help the poor that he would fund if elected.”

“We have all the money we need to do it,” he said.

This is typical of Democrats. They have promised for the better part of a century that they will pull the poor out of poverty if they can just get their hands on more of other people’s money. Yet it never works that way. Biden and others can whine that poverty soared during his miserable presidency because they couldn’t raise taxes on the wealthy, but soaking the rich does nothing for the poor but hurt them.

Our history clearly shows that when tax rates are cut, economic growth follows, and everyone, yes, even the poor, benefits. Economist Art Laffer, who drew that famous curve that “showed the relationship between tax rates and tax revenues” and helped shape Ronald Reagan’s growth-boosting economic policies, has made a career of explaining why this is.

He has argued, quite accurately, that the economy underperforms when the highest marginal income tax rates are raised, and that the opposite occurs – the economy overperforms – when the highest marginal income tax rates are cut. He has further said that redistributing dollars to those with lower incomes from those who are more well off diminishes both parties’ incentives to work.

People are more inclined to work hard when they get to keep what they earn. It is demoralizing (to say the least) for a worker who works overtime to support his family to have to send 30 or 40 percent of his earnings to the state and federal government.

Learning The Lessons Of History?

October 7, 2023, was the announcement to the world that the “two-state solution” would not work. Some of the world chose not to hear that announcement. In 2005, Israel withdrew from Gaza. They let Gaza elect its own leadership and govern itself. Before October 7, 2023, Gaza was essentially a Palestinian state. Jews were not allowed to buy or own property there. A resident of Gaza who sold property to a Jew would be killed. Gaza was at first governed by the Palestinian Authority and later Hamas was elected. Hamas ended elections. Just for the record, the rocket attacks on Israel began under the Palestinian authority and continued under Hamas. Children in Gaza were trained and encouraged to be martyrs from a young age.

Tunnels storing weapons and providing escape routes for terrorists were hidden under children’s bedrooms in Gaza. Hospitals were used as military headquarters with tunnel complexes underneath. Families were paid support by the government of Gaza if a family member killed Jews and was imprisoned or killed. Gaza was not a Palestinian territory–it was a terrorist enclave.

September 11, 2001, was the announcement to the world that Islam, as defined in the Qur’an, is NOT a religion of peace. Again, some of the world chose not to hear that message. The September 11th message has become clearer as European countries who allowed massive immigration from Muslim countries are realizing that some cultural divides cannot be bridged. In Western culture, it is not acceptable to sexually harass a women because she is not wearing a hijab or a burka. It is not acceptable to rape a woman because she is out alone. Some of the countries that have allowed massive amounts of Muslim immigrants into their countries are now offering to pay those immigrants to leave.

All civilizations are not equal. All civilizations do not provide adequate protection for women and children. I learned this years ago in talking to a Muslim man in Massachusetts. He explained to me that his loyalty was not to America and if he were called to fight against America for the cause of Allah, he would do that. He also explained how proud he would be if his children became martyrs for Allah. He is living in America as an American citizen.

Again, all civilizations are not equal.

What Does Your Driver’s License Say?

On Tuesday, The New York Post posted an article about a truck driver stopped on an interstate highway in Oklahoma.

The article reports:

On Monday, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt tweeted a picture of a New York state commercial driver’s license his officers seized during an “enforcement action” on an interstate highway.

The name on this official state document, found on one of 125 illegal-immigrant drivers apprehended by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol: “No Name Given.” 

No city or state suffered more on 9/11, but this single incident shows how even the Empire State has forgotten the lessons of that horrible day — and how New York’s solicitousness for illegal immigrants is setting America up for a tragic replay.

All but one of the 19 illegal aliens who carried out those attacks in 2001 had some type of US-issued identification document. 

As Richard Barth, then assistant secretary for policy development at the Department of Homeland Security, told the Senate in March 2007, the terrorists found it easy to fraudulently obtain driver’s licenses and state-issued IDs.

Take Hani Hanjour, the Saudi national who hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 and flew it into the Pentagon that morning, killing 184 innocents. He had IDs from three different states.

Who in the world issued that license? This is an invitation to disaster.

The 9/11 hijackers had to overpower flight crews and steer massive aircraft at high rates of speed to commit their attacks. 

Think of the carnage a malevolent trucker with the wrong cargo could wreak.

There’s a reason that semis on our highways are emblazoned with hazmat placards like “Flammable Gas,” “Explosives” and “Radioactive”: They warn other drivers to steer clear or risk calamity.

But what if calamity on a massive scale, impacting tens of thousands of our citizens, is the reason the driver is barreling down the highway? 

That’s not a “bad commute” — it’s a national disaster. 

A goal of the REAL ID Act was to ensure that only US citizens and legal immigrants could obtain compliant IDs. 

New York, having decided it can ignore our immigration laws, has now apparently set its sights on bypassing other federal mandates as well.

Until this issue is resolved, President Trump would be within his rights to bar travelers from using New York state “REAL IDs” when attempting to board aircraft or enter federally protected facilities.

There’s no reason for “No Name Given” to have a REAL ID commercial driver’s license — and New Yorkers, of all people, should understand why.

The government needs to investigate how this license was obtained.

Misuse Of The Opioid Settlement Money

On September 29th, The Washington Free Beacon reported the following:

Democratic House candidate Bob Harvie (Pa.), a county commissioner in Pennsylvania, oversees a local fund that distributes millions of dollars his county received as part of a settlement with opioid manufacturers. While the money is supposed to go toward “Prevention, Treatment and Recovery” services, Harvie used some of it to transport kids as young as 14 to an “LGBTQ-youth” center that offers “medical transition” seminars.

The Bucks County, Pa., Board of Commissioners, which Harvie chairs, approved a $13,500-grant in December to Planned Parenthood Keystone for “Expanding Services and Transportation” to the Rainbow Room, a local center that caters to gay and trans youth. The grant was used to transport high school students to Rainbow Room functions, the Delaware Valley Journal reported earlier this year. Its funding came from the county’s Opioid Settlement Fund, which is due to receive $70 million from drug distributors and pharmacy chains over the next 18 years.

The money from this settlement was supposed to be used to help the people who became addicted to drugs as a result of using OxyContin after its manufacturers claimed that the drug was non-addictive. Using it to encourage medical transition among young people is one way of ensuring that the pharmaceutical companies will have patients for life. People who are ‘transitioned’ have to be on a major drug protocol for their entire lives. Our bodies are programmed to maintain the sex we were born with–even after surgery and medical procedures, the body still produces the hormones and DNA that align with its original sex. It takes a lot of drugs to overcome that.

The article concludes:

Roy G Biv will hold a seminar later this week about “The Spectrum of Asexuality,” and in June held an event called “Queer Tarot Night.”

Harvie has worked closely with the Rainbow Room before. In 2023, Harvie, donning a rainbow tie, hosted an event to commemorate gay pride month with Marlene Pray, the Rainbow Room director who provided the condom-filled goody bags for the organization’s Queer Prom.

Harvie’s allies have also tapped taxpayer money to fund the Rainbow Room.

In November 2022, state senator Steve Santarsiero (D.), who has endorsed Harvie for Congress, announced $630,000 in state funding would be allocated to the Rainbow Room to open a second facility in Bucks County.

Harvie’s campaign, the Bucks County commissioners’ office, and the Rainbow Room did not respond to requests for comment.

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness. We don’t need to push it on our children. 

The Ongoing Peace Process

I am cautiously optimistic about the current plan for peace in the Middle East. However, I am not sure peace is possible without some serious cultural changes in the area.

One thing that works in favor of peace is President Trump’s understanding of economic leverage. As “drill, baby, drill” is implemented in America, the oil-rich countries in the Middle East lose a lot of clout in world politics. As radical Islam fights to keep its followers trapped in previous centuries, many moderate Muslims seek to join the modern world. The Abraham Accords represent dangling economic prosperity and the fruit of Israeli scientific research in front of the Arab world in exchange for putting aside animus toward Israel.

Remember, Israel is the country that has made the desert bloom.

There are some serious roadblocks to peace in the Middle East. Are the people who will live in Gaza going to continue to teach their children to be martyrs—to kill Jews in order to get to paradise? Are the people who will live in Gaza going to continue to pay money to families of martyrs who kill Jews? Will future maps in Gaza include Israel?

Hamas is currently backed into a corner. If they refuse the deal, they will probably be eliminated within weeks. If they agree to the deal, they survive, get their terrorists our of Israeli jails, and hope to rise again. If Hamas refuses the deal and Israel is forced to clear Gaza of Hamas by force, it is very unlikely that any hostages will be found alive. This deal is the only path toward getting any remaining hostages that are alive back alive.

It has been reported that President Trump has given Hamas four days to accept the peace plan.

I have no doubt that the civilized world wants to see peace in the Middle East. I’m just not sure how much of the Middle East wants to be part of the civilized world.

Common Sense From An Interesting Source

I will admit I was not impressed when John Fetterman was elected to the Senate. His total ignoring of the dress code seemed tacky to me; and for a while, he didn’t really seem to know much. However, he has definitely become a light in a very dark party.

On Monday, The Daily Caller reported:

Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman had a blunt message for members of his own party amid tense negotiations over a potential government shutdown.

Democratic lawmakers returned to Washington Monday and vowed to keep the government open, even as they voted against a GOP spending bill in the Senate that would temporarily fund operations. Fetterman had a blunt suggestion for Democrats holding the line in government shutdown talks: “win elections,” he reportedly said, according to CNN’s Manu Raju, who posted the quote Monday on X.

He may be the only Democrat who understands this principle. Actually, the lack of understanding in the Democrat party might partially be the result of the behavior of the Republicans in the past–they rolled over and played dead anytime the Democrats challenged them. Well, things have obviously changed. The Republicans have found their spine!

The article notes:

“John Fetterman, pushing back on Dems’ hardline over shutdown talks, says he has a suggestion for his party as it demands changes on health care policy as part of spending talks: ‘Win elections,’ he told us,” Raju wrote.

Democrats said a government shutdown could impact their constituents. Most of them, though, stood by their vote to block a Republican-led plan to keep the government open.

…President Donald Trump met with congressional leaders Monday in a last-ditch effort to prevent a government shutdown. Both sides left the White House without a deal. Democrats continued to demand health care concessions. Republicans pushed for a clean funding extension.

One of the major health care concessions is funding medical care for illegal aliens. I believe that the Democrat party is on the wrong side of that issue–most Americans have enough trouble paying for their own health care.
