Just A Reminder Of How Things Work

On Sunday, Miranda Devine posted an article at Hot Air that included a screenshot of a Tweet. The headline of the article is, “Nobody Was Ever Charged for the Antifa Attack on the White House.”

This is the Tweet:

Meanwhile, people who walked through the Capitol on January 6th after the police waved them in are rotting in jail almost four years later. Where are their Civil Rights? Does anyone in Congress really care about Civil Rights? Where are the courageous Congressmen speaking out against this?

Where Was This Information In 2020?

On Wednesday, Scott Johnson at Power Line Blog posted an article about The New York Times’ reporting about Hunter Biden’s efforts in landing a Burisma deal.

The article reports:

Ken Vogel reports in the New York Times that “Hunter Biden Sought State Department Help for Ukrainian Company.” Subhead: “After President Biden dropped his re-election bid, his administration released records showing that while he was vice president, his son solicited U.S. government assistance.” The New York Post has an accessible account of Vogel’s story by Victor Nava in “Hunter Biden asked US embassy in Italy for help landing Burisma deal while Joe was VP.”

It’s interesting to see the lengths to which the government went to protect President Biden from the story. The Times had to bring a FOIA lawsuit to obtain the documents it suspected had been withheld from an earlier production. Vogel seems to be afraid that Republicans will “pounce” on this element of his story:

The Times challenged the thoroughness of the [State Department FOIA] search, noting that the department had failed to produce responsive records contained in a cache of files connected to a laptop that Mr. Biden had abandoned at a Delaware repair shop. The department resumed the search and periodic productions, but had produced few documents related to Mr. Biden until the week after his father ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Vice President Harris for the Democratic nomination.

The article concludes:

The more apt headline for Vogel’s story in the Times would be Now it can be told! I would like to say that Miranda Devine apparently could not be reached by Vogel for comment. On X, Devine drily observes of Vogel’s story “[t]his might all come as a surprise to @nytimes readers but @nypost readers have known the score for four years.”

Rush Limbaugh used to talk about low-information voters. Now we have voters who read the New York Times who are uninformed and often misinformed.

What Goes Around Really Does Come Around!

On Tuesday, Miranda Devine posted an article at The New York Post about the role that Hunter Biden’s laptop will play in his trial in Delaware. It is very fitting that she should write this article because she was the one who was accused of all sorts of bad behavior when she reported on the laptop.

The article reports:

It’s official.

Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell” is government exhibit 16 at the first son’s gun trial in Delaware.

The silver MacBook Pro 13, covered in a clear plastic wrapper, was first publicly sighted Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. when it was carried across the court by prosecutor Derek Hines to his first witness, FBI Special Agent Erika Jensen, who confirmed it was Hunter’s laptop from the serial number on the back.

Sitting at the bar table, Hunter was inscrutable behind salmon pink reading glasses as the laptop that threatens to put him in jail and politically scorch his father coasted serenely across the room.

Three years and eight months since you heard it first in the New York Post, Jensen said that the laptop was obtained by the FBI in 2019 with a subpoena from The Mac Shop in Wilmington where it had been “abandoned” by Hunter.

She said that investigators corroborated content on the laptop with Hunter’s iCloud that they obtained from Apple with a subpoena.

Somehow the 51 intelligence agents who called the laptop ‘Russian disinformation’ when they knew it was real have never been held accountable for trying to influence a presidential election. After what we just saw in New York, shouldn’t that case be brought?

The article notes:

Then-presidential candidate Biden lied to the American people that the laptop was a “Russian plant.”

If you were not a reader of this newspaper and simply believed the Biden lies, Tuesday’s courtroom revelations would have come as a bolt from the blue.

Hines told the jury that when Hunter bought a gun after ticking a box on a federal background form saying he was not a drug user, he “chose to illegally own a firearm” and “chose to lie . . . Nobody is allowed to lie, not even Hunter Biden.”

Then Hines led Agent Jensen through messages and images from the laptop of a half-naked Hunter with drug paraphernalia to make his case that Hunter was using drugs in the period before, during and after Oct. 12, 2018, the day he drove his father’s Cadillac to a local gun store and bought a handgun.

The jury kept an intense, unsmiling focus throughout evidence that showed Hunter spending $50,000 a month in ATM withdrawals while organizing alleged purchases of crack cocaine.

I don’t wish anyone ill, but the evidence seems to point to the fact that Hunter Biden was a drug addict who lied on a gun-purchase form. I believe that somehow his name will shield him from the consequences of his actions, but that will be simply another example of our multi-tiered justice system currently in operation in America.

The Most Ridiculous Excuse Yet

On Sunday, Miranda Devine posted an article at The New York Post about the investigation into the cocaine found in the White House.

The article reported:

Of all the excuses offered by the Secret Service to explain why it shut down the White House cocaine investigation last week after just 11 days, one jumped out as particularly ridiculous.

It couldn’t conduct interviews of potential cokeheads known to be in the vicinity of where the bag of drugs was found because it didn’t want to infringe on their civil rights, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told NBC.

“We have no evidence to approach them,” he said of 500 possible suspects identified in the area on the holiday weekend before July 4.

Hah! Tell that to the hundreds of people rounded up by the FBI for just being in the vicinity of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The article also notes:

Even more astonishing is that, in a complex bristling with security cameras, the Secret Service said no surveillance video footage exists because the baggie was located in a “blind spot.”

“I don’t care if it was a six-foot blind spot,” says Kerik (former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik). “I can tell you who walked into it and who walked out of it. The whole blind spot argument is bogus.”

He claims the Secret Service knows exactly whose cocaine it is.

“They don’t miss anything. They know their job. They are very systematic, very organized, very thorough,” he said, adding, “The whole thing is preposterous. It’s really an insult to the men and women in the Secret Service and the FBI for them to say they can’t identify where the cocaine came from.”

As the mystery dragged on into its second week, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to rule out that the cocaine belonged to a member of the Biden family and slammed the question as “incredibly irresponsible.”

It’s time to replace any law enforcement personnel in Washington with people who can actually do their job.

How Many News Sources Have Reported This?

The mainstream media controls the narrative not only by how they slant their stories, but also by leaving out stories that do not fit their narrative. During the run-up to the 2020 election, most of the media chose to ignore or censor stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop. The FBI also buried the story by not investigating the charges made by a whistleblower. That whistleblower appeared on Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night and told his story.

The American Thinker posted an article on Wednesday with some stunning details from that interview.

The article reports:

Most readers already know that Tony Bobulinski was the business partner of Hunter Biden and his uncle, Jim Biden, the president’s brother, as they attempted to put together deals with foreign actors.  That partnership broke up, and Bobulinski has become a whistleblower.  But his efforts to interest the FBI in multiple Biden family felonies, including against him, have come to naught.

Last night, in a second sit-down interview with Tucker Carlson, Bobulinski laid out stunning details on how the FBI deep-sixed any public revelations, much less indictments, based on what Bobulinski says are thousands of pages of proof, including emails, text messages, recorded phone calls, and actual business documents.  Despite having possession of abundant evidence, the FBI sat on the investigation through the 2020 election, thereby depriving the public of information that almost certainly would have swayed enough votes to change the outcome and re-elect Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, The New York Post reported:

In his first television appearance in two years, Bobulinski recalls his surprise when he saw that Jim Biden was calling him, and says he showed his ringing phone to the FBI field agents interviewing him at the FBI Washington Field Office.

“On my BlackBerry, Jim Biden called me via WhatsApp, and … my phone starts ringing in the middle of this interview. So, I looked down and I’m like, ‘Is he really calling me right now?’

“So, I show the phone to my lawyer and … then I showed it to the agent. The agents got up out of the chair and left the room. They were like, ‘You can take that call if you want.’ And so, I answered it and there was nobody on the other side. So, I don’t know if it was a mistake or that he tried to send me a message, or what it was. But that’s the last interaction or communication I’ve had with the Biden family.”

Bobulinski gave the FBI a five-hour interview that day, Oct. 23, 2020, as well as the contents of his three cellphones containing encrypted messages between Hunter and Jim Biden and their business partners, emails, and financial documents detailing the Biden family’s influence-peddling operation in foreign countries during Joe’s vice presidency.

Is there anyone left in the Department of Justice or the FBI who cares about corruption?

Does Corruption Matter?

On Friday, Just the News posted an article about Miranda Devine’s new book, “Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.” It seems as if a lot of things President Biden has said about his son’s business dealings are simply not true.

The article reports:

President Biden “lied” on the campaign trail “when he said that he knew nothing about his son Hunter’s overseas business dealings,” alleges Miranda Devine, author of “Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.”

Biden “met Hunter’s business partners from overseas multiple times” when he was vice president, including “Mexicans and Ukrainians and Russians and Chinese and Kazakhstanis,” Devine told the John Solomon Reports podcast on Thursday.

He met some of them in Beijing, others at Cafe Milano and the Naval Observatory, the vice presidential residence, in Washington, D.C.

Miranda Devine also stated:

“I think all you need to know about Burisma is that when Joe Biden stopped being vice president, Burisma cut Hunter Biden’s salary in half,” she added.

…She explained that Hunter Biden’s laptop, abandoned at a Delaware computer repair shop, shows how much his and his father’s finances were intertwined, how they know “everything about each other’s business,” have “joint bank accounts, shared debit cards,” and how Hunter paid “for at least some of Joe’s sort of household bills — maintenance on his Delaware mansion.”

“[T]here are emails,” she continued, “where there are these overdue bills for Joe Biden’s Delaware mansion — whether it’s sort of fixing a retaining wall or painting a fence or fixing the shutters or replacing the air conditioning — you know, several thousand dollars for each bill from local Delaware contractors.

Contrast the lack of reporting on these scandals with the over-the-top reporting on imaginary Trump scandals. The media lost their interest in investigative reporting and objectivity long ago. Let’s hope they get enough of their focus back to at least report on how Joe Biden and his son Hunter managed to get rich on a Congressman’s pay.

Some Lies Matter More Than Others

I don’t encourage lying although I would encourage husbands to think carefully before answering the question, “Does this dress make me look fat?” But some lies are definitely more serious than others. Unfortunately many of the lies currently being told by the Biden administration have serious consequences.

Yesterday The New York Post reported the following:

President Biden has gotten away his entire career with bending the truth and taking people for fools. Now the habit has infected his entire administration.

So many lies are pumped out these days that it is impossible to keep up.

They aren’t just the silly, self-aggrandizing exaggerations that used to send the Trump-hating media into paroxysms of outrage during the last administration.

They often are matters of life and death that have a profound impact on the future of this country.

The article includes a list of the most dangerous lies told by the Biden administration. Below is the list. Please follow the link above to the article to read the details.

Lie 1: The southern border is closed.

Lie 2: Border Patrol agents on horseback “whipped” Haitian migrants.

Lie 3: We will not leave Afghanistan until every American is evacuated.

Lie 4: The drone attack on Aug. 29 in Kabul was a “righteous strike” on ISIS-K terrorists.

Lie 5: Hunter Biden’s laptop is “Russian disinformation.”

Lie 6: The cost of the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion social welfare bill is “zero” dollars.

How many of these lies are still being told by the mainstream media?
