The Lies Kept On Coming

I watched the Trump/Harris debate last night. I watched Kamala Harris dismiss comments by President Trump as lies and the moderators fact-check President Trump. Somehow the moderators never fact-checked Kamala Harris. As she accused President Trump of lying, Vice-President Harris told 21 unfact-checked lies that were cited in an article at Breitbart.

This is the list:

3. False claims on Trump trade deficit

4. Putin can “do whatever the hell he wants”

5. “Dictator on day one” hoax

6. Blaming botched Afghanistan withdrawal on Trump

National Football Teams Do Not Endorse Candidates

A series of advertisements describing Vice-President Kamala Harris as the presidential choice of the Philadelphia Eagles football team appeared in Philadelphia on Monday. They are counterfeit ads–there is some question as to who created them. The Philadelphia Eagles have put out a press release denying that they have endorsed any candidate.

On Monday, Trending Politics reported the following:

A Philadelphia man could be seen pasting official statements from the Philadelphia Eagles that disavowed a series of pro-Kamala Harris ads that popped up across the city on Monday.

Early Labor Day morning, a series of pro-Kamala Harris ads that had been set up on bus stops across Philadelphia went viral on social media. The ads featured a digitally-generated photo of Vice President Harris in an Eagles helmet, complete with team colors and the official Eagles logo, alongside text referring to her as the, “Official Candidate Of The Philadelphia Eagles.”

…Not long after the ads went viral on social media, the Philadelphia Eagles issued a statement referring to them as “counterfeit” and not linked to the team in any way. “We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed,” the team announced in an X post.

The article concludes:

“We are aware that several of our bus shelters located in Philadelphia have been vandalized and that the paid advertising copy in each of those shelters has been replaced with unauthorized copy,” Intersection Media said in a statement to Fox 29.

“While our bus shelters have locks that typically prevent the installation of unaurthorized copy by non-Intersection staff, occasionally people find a way to unlock the ad box and insert unauthorized copy. The unauthorized copy in this case implies an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris by the Philadelphia Eagles. We note that the Eagles and Intersection had nothing to do with the creation or posting of this unauthorized copy and Intersection staff will be removing the ads as soon as possible.”

How many low-information voters will believe the phony ads?

Why Even Bother With The Oath?

On Monday, Jonathan Turley posted an article about the ongoing trial of President Trump that is taking place in New York. No one with any knowledge of the law can take this trial seriously.

The headline reads:

A Disbarred, Serial Perjurer Walks into a Court and Asks to Take an Oath…Seriously, No Joke

The article reports:

A disbarred, serial perjurer walks into a courtroom and asks to take an oath . . . No, seriously, this is not a joke. Michael Cohen will soon appear in a Manhattan courtroom in what is sure to be one of the most bizarre moments in legal history.

Cohen nearly comprises the prosecution’s entire case against former President Donald Trump under a criminal theory that still has many of us baffled. It is not clear what crime Trump was supposedly trying to conceal by making “hush-money” payments to former porn actress Stormy Daniels.

What is clear is that none of the witnesses called in recent weeks has had any direct involvement with Trump on the payments.

The witnesses had a lot to say about Cohen, and most of it was not good. They described an unprofessional, self-proclaimed “fix-it man” who created a shell corporation to buy out Daniels with his own money. The money was later paid back by Trump after the election, with other legal expenses.

So Cohen will now make the pitch to the jury that they should put his former client in jail for following his own legal advice.

This would be difficult even for a competent and ethical lawyer. For Cohen, it is utter insanity. But Bragg is betting on a New York jury looking no further than the identity of the defendant to convict.

Cohen has an impressive history of lies and exaggerations that may be unparalleled. Just weeks ago, another judge denounced him as a serial perjurer who was still gaming the system.

This is not the defendant, mind you, but Alvin Bragg’s star witness.

The article concludes:

Under New York law, the oath administered by the court is supposed “to awaken the conscience and impress the mind of the witness in accordance with that witness’s religious or ethical beliefs.”

Before the bailiff administers the oath to Cohen, Judge Juan Merchan may have to warn spectators in the courtroom not to laugh. For anyone familiar with Cohen, it will sound like the ultimate punchline to a bad joke.

Some Lies Matter More Than Others

I don’t encourage lying although I would encourage husbands to think carefully before answering the question, “Does this dress make me look fat?” But some lies are definitely more serious than others. Unfortunately many of the lies currently being told by the Biden administration have serious consequences.

Yesterday The New York Post reported the following:

President Biden has gotten away his entire career with bending the truth and taking people for fools. Now the habit has infected his entire administration. 

So many lies are pumped out these days that it is impossible to keep up. 

They aren’t just the silly, self-aggrandizing exaggerations that used to send the Trump-hating media into paroxysms of outrage during the last administration. 

They often are matters of life and death that have a profound impact on the future of this country.

Lie 5: Hunter Biden’s laptop is “Russian disinformation.”

Lie 6: The cost of the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion social welfare bill is “zero” dollars.

How many of these lies are still being told by the mainstream media?

Stating the Obvious

The Conservative Daily News posted an article today detailing the six blatant and dangerous lies told by President Biden. I have posted the list below. Please follow the link to read the details.

The list:

#6: There is no border crisis, and this surge in migrants “happens every single, solitary year. Nothing has changed.”

#5: “I have this strange notion…[that] we are a democracy…[there are] things you can’t do by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus.”

#4: It is time for corporations and the richest Americans to “start paying their fair share.”

#3: The Biden administration inherited a “nonexistent coronavirus vaccine distribution plan.”

#2: Wearing masks is “a small precaution to take that has a profound impact. It’s a patriotic responsibility for God’s sake.”

#1: “It was a murder in the full light of day, and it ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism…that is a stain [on] our nation’s soul.”

There are some basic problems with these lies. Most of them create division within our nation. Most of what President Biden has done in office he has done without Congress and definitely without bothering to work with the Republicans. He has made little or no effort to build consensus. Unfortunately the mainstream media happily ignores these lies and the damage they are doing to our nation.
