Who Goes To Jail And Stays There?

Just the News is reporting today that a Bail fund promoted by Kamala Harris won’t share records of alleged criminals it sprung from jail. The bail fund was set up last summer to bail out several accused and convicted criminals — at least one with a markedly violent history–from jail in the midst of last year’s deadly Black Lives Matter-led riots in Minnesota.

The article reports:

In June 2020, as violent unrest swept the country in the wake of Minneapolis resident George Floyd’s death at the hands of city police, Harris — then two months away from being chosen as Joe Biden’s running mate — tweeted out a link to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which claims to “pa[y] criminal bail and immigration bonds for those who cannot otherwise afford to.”

…Harris’s support for the organization amid the riots last year was one of the factors that helped the Minnesota Freedom Fund realize a reported windfall of tens of millions of dollars, a gargantuan increase over the group’s 2018 returns of around $100,000.

Yet the bail fund was mired in controversy over the summer due to reports that it had helped spring from jail multiple alleged violent criminals, including at least one individual with multiple rape convictions on his rap sheet. 

A review by the Washington Post found that MFF helped bail out of jail one individual who allegedly shot at police officers during riots in Minnesota.

Local Fox affiliate KMSP, meanwhile, found that among those who received bail money from the MFF were also “a woman accused of killing a friend [and] a twice convicted sex offender.”

The article notes that the specifics of exactly who was bailed out remain elusive:

Yet a full accounting of the individuals bailed out by the fund last year was not available as of press time.

A representative of the Minnesota Freedom Fund told Just the News via email this week that the records of those it has helped bail out “are available via the Hennepin and Ramsey County jail rosters.” The group did not respond to repeated inquiries asking if it kept those records in its own files.

The records within the jail rosters, meanwhile, are not easily accessible.

Tom Lyden, a reporter with KMSP who originally broke that station’s coverage of the controversies surrounding the bail fund, said that the documentation “is difficult to find and it is not available online.”

“You must go through items in the file, which you can only do at a live terminal,” he said.

I don’t think the Trump supporters are the ones supporting insurrection. Please follow the link to read the entire article. It is amazing how supposedly public records can be so hard to access.

The Blacklisting Begins

The American Thinker posted an article today about Dawson Buchanan, a young Trump-supporter.

The article reports:

Dawson Buchanan, a young Trump-supporter, left a disturbing thread on Twitter.  He asserts that he was all set to begin working for a company called Private Jet Services.  However, shortly before he was to begin, PJS fired him.  He finally learned from the owner that PJS had a contract with the National Hockey League.  When the NHL learned that PJS had hired someone who had worked for the Trump company, the NHL said PJS had a choice: Buchanan or the NHL.  PJS opted for the company that helps pay its bills.

The article concludes:

What’s important for purposes of this post is that if Buchanan’s facts are accurate, it’s clear that the left is determined to marginalize Trump-supporters and other conservatives.  They have already made absolutely clear that they intended to deny them a voice in a computerized world, to leave them without access to banks, and to make sure that they cannot be employed.  Indeed, Curt Schilling has been told that, as a high-profile conservative, he’s now uninsurable.  I’m sure there’s a lawsuit there, too.  We are to be driven from pillar to post, like lepers of old.

In the long term, the left’s is an unsustainable tactic.  Depending on the circumstances, it’s almost certainly illegal in many cases.  And finally, if leftists are determined to “de-person” Trump-supporters, it cannot end well for America as a whole.  This is the behavior of hardcore socialists, in the communist or fascist mode, not of members of a pluralist liberal democracy.

I refer back to the words of Edwin Black, a Jewish historian, who has stated that the three steps to the concentrations camps in Germany were identify, exclude and confiscate (or deprive of a way to make a living). We are now seeing the beginning of that in America. That should scare all of us.

Wise Words From A Wise Man

Dennis Prager posted an article at Townhall on Tuesday about what is currently happening in America. Dennis Prager is a student of history.

In an earlier article, posted January 5th, he states:

As a student of totalitarianism since my graduate studies at the Russian Institute of Columbia University’s School of International Affairs (as it was then known), I have always believed that only in a dictatorship could a society be brainwashed. I was wrong. I now understand that mass brainwashing can take place in a nominally free society. The incessant left-wing drumbeat of The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and almost every other major newspaper, plus The Atlantic, The New Yorker, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, NPR, all of Hollywood and almost every school from kindergarten through graduate school, has brainwashed at least half of America every bit as effectively as the German, Soviet and Chinese communist press did (and in the latter case, still does). That thousands of schools will teach the lie that is the New York Times’ “1619 Project” is one of countless examples.

In the latter article he reminds us of some history:

On Jan. 6, 2021, a right-wing mob of a few hundred people broke away from a peaceful right-wing protest involving tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of American conservatives and forced its way into the U.S. Capitol. One Capitol policeman was killed after being hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, and one of the right-wing Capitol invaders was shot by a Capitol police officer. (A handful of others who died in the vicinity of the Capitol did so of nonviolent causes.) Aside from smashed windows, the mob seems to have done little damage to the Capitol. Their intent is still not clear. It seems to have been largely catharsis. They hurt no legislators, and if they intended to overthrow the government, they were delusional.

Beginning the next day, the American left used the Capitol mob just as the Nazis used the Reichstag: as an excuse to subjugate its conservative enemies and further squelch civil liberties in America — specifically, freedom of speech.

The article lists the lies told about the event:

The first was blaming the attack on President Donald Trump. Over and over, in every left-wing medium and stated repeatedly by Democrats, Trump is blamed for “inciting” the riot in his speech just before it took place. Almost never is a Trump quote cited. Because there is none. On the contrary, he did say, “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard” (italics added).

Another lie was the immediate labeling of the mob attack on the Capitol as “insurrection.” All left-wing media and Democrats now refer to the event as an “insurrection,” a term defined by almost every dictionary as “an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government.” As morally repulsive as the actions of the mob were, they did not constitute a revolt against civil authority or an established government. Disrupting the work of legislators for a few hours — as wrong as that was — does not constitute a “revolt.”

The article points out that the riots of last summer were never labeled as “insurrections.”

Using The Capitol Riots As An Excuse For Blacklisting Trump Supporters

The U.K. Daily Mail posted an article today about a recent article in Forbes.

The U.K. Daily Mail article reports:

Forbes Magazine has been criticized for an op-ed warning companies against hiring any ex-Trump administration members.

Independent Women’s Forum analyst Kelsey Bolar slammed the article published on January 7, calling it ‘dangerous cancel culture’, ‘that is not going to unite the nation.’

In the wake of last week’s Capitol riots, Forbes Magazine’s editor Randall Lane wrote: ‘As American democracy rebounds, we need to return to a standard of truth when it comes to how the government communicates with the governed. 

‘The easiest way to do that, from where I sit, is to create repercussions for those who don’t follow the civic norms,’ Lane wrote.

‘Let it be known to the business world: Hire any of Trump’s fellow fabulists above, and Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie.’

Speaking to Fox News‘ conservative Fox & Friends talk show, Bolar said the article was ‘just the latest example of cancel culture and the great purge that we’re seeing come from the left and never-Trump Republicans.’

For anyone who thinks this is no big deal, I would direct you to an interview done on the Glenn Beck show of Jewish historian Edwin Black. The two men were having a discussion of the events that led to the Holocaust. Edwin Black stated that there were three steps involved in getting the Jewish people into the concentration camps–identifying them, excluding them, and confiscating their property (or denying them the ability to make a living).

We are in a dangerous place. The problem with the cancel culture is that there are no guarantees as to who its next victim will be. Those supporting the exclusion of Trump supporters from employment might want to consider that fact.

This Seems Odd To Me

The New York Post posted an article today about a memo written by the Joint Chiefs of Staff to every member of the U.S. military.

The article reports:

The Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a rare warning to every member of the US military, damning the Capitol riots as an illegal “assault” on democracy — and forewarning that “violence, sedition and insurrection” will not be tolerated.

“The violent riot in Washington, DC on January 6, 2021 was a direct assault on the U.S. Congress, the Capitol building, and our Constitutional process,” the military’s top leaders told troops Tuesday in an internal memo, calling it “inconsistent with the rule of law.”

While the seven generals and one admiral — including chairman Gen. Mark Milley — did not directly accuse military members of involvement with the “unprecedented” siege, it was a clear warning against involvement in feared plans for more revolts.

“As service members, we must embody the values and ideals of the nation. We support and defend the Constitution,” the Joint Chiefs reminded troops.

“Any act to disrupt the Constitutional process is not only against our traditions, values and oath; it is against the law,” they wrote.

“The rights of freedom of speech and assembly do not give anyone the right to resort to violence, sedition and insurrection.”

Some military veterans have been charged over the riots, including a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel photographed holding zip-tie handcuffs on a chamber floor.

An Army psychological warfare officer is among the active-duty members known to be being investigated after she admitted to taking at least 100 people to President Trump’s rally before the siege.

My understanding is that as long as she was not in uniform, she had every right to take part in the rally. Obviously she had no right to take part in what went on in the Capitol, but there is no evidence that she took part in that. If she is punished in any way for taking part in the rally, then we have a problem. Her First Amendment rights as a private citizen have been violated. There is a valid lawsuit here.

In What World Is This Rational?

Project Veritas is known for exposing things that go on behind the scenes. They have a way of showing us what is really going on. They have done it again–they have exposed the prejudice of at least one person at PBS.

The information below was contained in an email I received today from Project Veritas. They have resorted to emails because some of their social networking has been censored.

The email included a video of PBS Principal Counsel Michael Beller stating the following (I can’t figure out how to embed the video):

“They’ll [Trump supporters] be raising a generation of intolerant, horrible people – horrible kids.”

“We go for all the Republican voters and Homeland Security will take their children away…we’ll put them into the re-education camps.”

“Enlightenment camps. They’re nice, they have Sesame Street characters in the classrooms, and they watch PBS all day.

Project Veritas has also obtained a message sent by PBS CEO Paula Kerger to her staff:

Dear Colleagues:

We recently learned that a staff member in PBS’s legal department was targeted by Project Veritas, a far-right activist group that is known for producing deceptive videos. A video of that individual’s personal interaction with an undercover member of Project Veritas was released today.

In response, we issued the following statement: 

“This employee no longer works for PBS. As a mid-level staff attorney, he did not speak on behalf of our organization, nor did he make any editorial decisions. There is no place for hateful rhetoric at PBS, and this individual’s views in no way reflect our values or opinions. We strongly condemn violence and will continue to do what we have done for 50 years – use our national platform and local presence to strengthen communities and bring people together.”

Now wait a minute. If you dismissed the employee, why are you accusing Project Veritas of being a far-right activist group known for producing deceptive videos? Was the video accurate? If not, why did you fire the employee? I really don’t think you can have it both ways.

It is disturbing that anyone (particularly a person in a corporation funded with taxpayer dollars) would think any American belongs in a re-education camp. Based on that statement, I am not sure it is the Trump supporters who are intolerant.

Actions Have Consequences

Unfortunately it appears that the Democrat’s definition of unity is to silence any dissenting views on their policies. The idea of compromise and debate seems to have vanished somewhere in the recent election. This is not the way our country was set up, and many Americans are unhappy with the direction the Democrats are already taking us.

Just the News posted an article yesterday about the approval ratings of some of our Congressional leaders.

Less than a majority of Republican voters (45%) expressed approval for McConnell, showing a growing divide within the Republican party. Meanwhile, a majority of Democrats (67%) still approve of Pelosi, who was recently elected Speaker of the House by a slender margin.

This survey polled 1,200 registered voters and was conducted by Scott Rasmussen from Jan 7-9, 2021.

The Republican Party does not easily unify. It is made up of people who do not naturally fall into lock step. There are many Republicans (myself included) who would like to see the Republican Party actually lead instead of sitting back and playing the victim. Mitch McConnell has done a good job of confirming judges, but he has not always been on the President’s team. That is unfortunate because the President is the highest elected official in the Republican Party–he should be considered its leader. It is unfortunate that the Party has not been willing to unite behind him to get things done. Had the members of the Party been willing to take a strong stand, they might have been able to work out an infrastructure bill and get it passed despite the Democrats’ objections. Had the party stuck together instead of playing their ‘never Trump’ games, they might have been able to overcome Democrat resistance to policies that would have moved our country forward. I believe the approval ratings above reflect the frustration of the American people that the two parties have not been able to work together for the good of the country. Based on their actions so far, I don’t see that changing under a new Congress and administration.

 

Silliness In Congress

After a while, you have to wonder why Democrats in Congress are so anxious to get President Trump out of the White House. He has eight days left to serve as President, can’t they just leave him alone? I guess not.

The Epoch Times reported yesterday that Representative Alex Mooney, a Republican from West Virginia, blocked Democrats from introducing a resolution via unanimous consent to call on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump.

The article reports:

The Democrat-backed resolution calls on Pence and the Cabinet to “declare what is obvious to a horrified Nation: That the President is unable to successfully discharge the duties and powers of his office.”

…Mooney said Pelosi “should not attempt to adopt a resolution of this magnitude without any debate on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives,” noting that “it is wrong to have sent members of Congress home and then try to adopt without any debate a precedent-setting resolution that could imperil our Republic. The U.S. House must never adopt a resolution that demands the removal of a duly elected president, without any hearings, debate, or recorded votes.”

Whatever happened to the Democrat’s calls for unity? I don’t think misusing the 25th Amendment to unlawfully remove a Republican President creates unity.

More Information About The Coronavirus

The New York Post posted an article today about some new research regarding the coronavirus.

The article reports:

The bacteria lurking in COVID-19 patients’ intestines may play a role in how sick they get from the illness, according to new research.

Although the coronavirus is primarily a respiratory disease, there is increasing evidence that suggests the GI tract is involved, scientists at the Chinese University of Hong Kong said.

The team studied samples from 100 patients treated at two Hong Kong hospitals to see how the so-called microbiome in the digestive system might affect recovery from the deadly bug.

“Gut microbiome composition was significantly altered in patients with COVID-19 compared with non-COVID-19 individuals irrespective of whether patients had received medication,” they wrote in the British Medical Journal’s publication Gut.

“Based on several patients surveyed in this study for up to 30 days after clearing SARS-CoV-2, the gut microbiota is likely to remain significantly altered after recovery from COVID-19,” they said. 

The researchers said patients with severe illness exhibit high blood plasma levels of inflammatory cytokines and inflammatory markers — and that there is “substantial involvement” of the GI tract during infection, given “altered gut microbiota composition in SARS-CoV-2 infected subjects.”

As I have previously posted, my husband and I had the coronavirus. We had very mild cases. His impacted his lungs and mine impacted my stomach. Oddly enough, we had been on an anti-inflammatory diet before contracting the disease. Based on this article, that may be responsible for our mild cases.

Coronavirus is serious. It can have a lasting impact. However, there are some interesting statistics on how likely you are to die from it. Craven County North Carolina has a population of approximately 101,940 people. In that county, 87 people have died from the coronavirus. That is a percentage of .000853 (rounded up to .001). The mortality rate from the regular flu in people over the age of 65 is .001. (information from statista) In younger age groups the mortality rate for the regular flu is much lower.

Stay safe. Wash your hands frequently. Stay away from sick people, and don’t go anywhere when you don’t feel well. But relax. This too will pass.

The Cancel Culture Strikes Again

The New York Post reported yesterday that the PGA of America has voted to move The 2022 PGA Championship, which had been scheduled since 2014 to be played at Trump National in Bedminster. The decision was the result of the riots in Washington on January 6th.

The PGA, as a private organization, has the right to move anything anywhere, but this is significant because it illustrates what mob rule can do. The cancel culture is one aspect of mob rule.

The article reports:

This isn’t the first time professional golf has canceled an event scheduled for a Trump property. In 2015, the Grand Slam of Golf at Trump National Los Angeles Golf Club was canceled after he made a comment about Mexican immigrants. The PGA Tour, too, moved its annual WGC event that was played at Doral in South Florida, which Trump purchased in 2012, to Mexico in 2017.

Trump Bedminster hosted the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open.

According to an ABC News report, the Trump Organization responded to the PGA of America’s decision with this statement: “We have had a beautiful partnership with the PGA of America and are incredibly disappointed with their decision. This is a breach of a binding contract and they have no right to terminate the agreement.’’

Yes, it’s a private organization and has the right to make that decision, but what does this mean for the future of freedom in America? There is absolutely no evidence of any connection between the riot in Washington and President Trump. Last summer when riots happened in various parts of the country and the Democrats said they were justified, were there any repercussions for those statements? When Maxine Waters told supporters to harass Trump administration workers or supporters in public places, was there any problem?

The cancel culture is dangerous. It is mob rule. Those supporting it will be very surprised when sometime in the future it turns on them.

Interesting Information

I am not familiar with this source, but from what I already know, the information here is reliable.

The National Pulse posted an article today about the timeline of the horrible events of Wednesday in Washington. The article also notes that when Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup, he was turned down. Sund has since resigned his post.

The article notes the problems with the claim that President Trump encouraged the riots:

And while the Washington Post clumsily attempts to blame President Trump for the violence – despite the President calling for “peaceful” protests and the “cheering on” of Congressmen – their own article admits the “first wave of protesters arrived at the Capitol about 12:40pm.”

President Trump’s speech didn’t conclude until 1:11pm, and with at least a 45-minute walk between the two locations with crowd-related delays, that would put the first people from Trump’s speech at Capitol Hill no earlier than 1:56pm – a full hour and sixteen minutes after troublemakers arrived.

In fact, rioters who breached the perimeter would have had to leave before Trump’s speech even began (at 12pm precisely) to make it in time for the events as they are detailed by authorities.

You can decide for yourself whether or not the speech is inflammatory. I would just like to note that if the media were fair, they would have to admit that the President’s long winded speech absolves him of guilt in the riot that followed.

 

Some Inconvenient Facts

On Wednesday, WattsUpWithThat posted an article about a new paper authored by glaciologists Bohleber et al, 2020 of the Austrian Academy of Science.

The article notes:

Dr. Sebastian Lüning earlier today released his latest Klimaschau report, No. 6. In the first part he looks at glaciers in the Alps over the course of much the Holocene.

It turns out that Most of the Alps were ice-free 6000 years ago, glaciologists have discovered.

In his video, the German geologist presents a new paper authored by glaciologists Bohleber et al, 2020 of the Austrian Academy of Science. The Austrian-Swiss team discovered from ice cores that the 3500-meter high Weißseespitze summit was ice free 5900 years ago.

Much warmer in the early Holocene

Lüning next shows why the Alps were ice-free 6000 years ago by using a chart by Heiri et al 2015, which shows it was some 2°C warmer than today.

Beginning some 10,000 years ago, after the Ice Age ended, all glaciers below 4000 meters elevation in the East Alps melted away over the years that followed. Then beginning 6000 years ago, cooling started again and the glaciers returned (neoglaciation). Today temperatures in the Alps are still well below early Holocene levels.

This will cripple the American economy yet do nothing to curb the major air polluters India and China. This is an instance where we truly need to follow the science and realize that the earth’s climate is always changing and that we are not in charge of it. Cleaning up the air is a good idea, but we have been doing that during the past four years in America.

Losing Your Job For Attending A Rally

Townhall posted an article today about a public school teacher in Allentown, Pennsylvania, who attended the Trump rally in Washington on Wednesday.

The article reports:

Hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters gathered in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to protest an election many consider to be unfair. One of those attendees, a public school teacher in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has been relieved of duty pending a formal investigation into his attendance at Wednesday’s protest. 

“Because of the emotion and controversy stirred by the events of January 6, 2021, the teacher has been temporarily relieved of his teaching duties until the School District can complete a formal investigation of his involvement,” reads a statement from Allentown School District Superintendent Thomas Parker. 

You can now be relieved of duty because people are emotional. 

The article concludes:

The superintendent said the district remains committed to meeting “the academic, social, and emotional needs” of students.

“Thank you for your support in creating a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for students to raise questions and develop a diversity of perspectives about our community, our nation, and the world in which we live,” Thomas added. 

The statement was also provided in Spanish.

Everybody has come out and condemned the rioting that took place on Wednesday. Those who engage in criminal acts at protests should absolutely be prosecuted (and not bailed out by Democrats). But those who peacefully protest are exercising their First Amendment rights and should not be at risk of losing their jobs. Just because some in the protest engaged in criminal acts, doesn’t mean you did. If we changed that standard, just about every elected Democrat would be out of work, which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world but you can’t count on Democrats to apply rules to themselves. They’re big on rules for thee but not for me. 

Firing a teacher for attending a rally does not seem like it encourages diversity. I sincerely hope a large lawsuit follows. The school superintendent is violating the teacher’s First Amendment rights.

My How Times Have Changed

Bloomberg reported the following today:

Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Citigroup Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. plan to pause all political contributions, joining a growing list of companies changing or reviewing their donation policies in the aftermath of riots at the Capitol in the past week.

…The action from the banks followed an earlier announcement from Marriott International Inc., which said it will suspend donations to Republican senators who voted against certifying President-elect Joe Biden, after considering the “destructive events” on Wednesday.

Gee, that’s different.

On December 31, 2020, Fox News reminded us:

The last three times a Republican has been elected president — Trump in 2016 and George W. Bush in both 2000 and 2004 — Democrats in the House have brought objections to the electoral votes in states the GOP nominee won. In early 2005 specifically, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., along with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs, D-Ohio, objected to Bush’s 2004 electoral votes in Ohio.

That forced the chambers to leave their joint session and debate separately for two hours on whether to reject Ohio’s electoral votes. Neither did. But the objection by Boxer and Tubbs serves as a modern precedent for what is likely to happen in Congress on Jan. 6.

Notably, some Democrats lauded Boxer’s move at the time, including Durbin himself.

It’s amazing how the rules change.

We don’t have answers to who did what on January 6th. We do know that the behavior of many Americans was inexcusable. However, have you  noticed that talk of election fraud has mysteriously disappeared? That should give all of us pause.

 

 

Our Country Is Changing Very Quickly

Newsmax reported yesterday that Amazon is removing Parler from its web servers.

The article reports:

Amazon is removing the Parler social media service from its web servicers, BuzzFeed News reported Saturday night.

If Parler cannot find another hosting service once the ban takes effect Sunday, Parler will go offline, Buzzfeed reported.

The news comes after Apple and Google Play removed the app from their stores.

Parler has been used increasingly by conservatives amid what they see as increasing censorship by Twitter. Twitter permanently banned President Donald Trump on Friday for tweets it said violated its rules of inciting violence.

Conservatives have said the ban is a stifling of free speech.

Amazon has suspended Parler from its Amazon Web Services (AWS) unit, for violating AWS’s terms of services by failing to effectively deal with a steady increase in violent content on the social networking service.

I am old enough to remember the 1977 march by the National Socialist Party of America (Nazi Party) in Skokie, Illinois. Most Americans hated the idea that they were allowed to march. There were lawsuits filed, but it was decided that they had a First Amendment right to march. Amazon and Twitter are private corporations, but it seems to me that they are infringing on Americans’ First Amendment rights.

The article concludes:

In addition to Parler, right-leaning social media users in the United States have flocked to messaging app Telegram and hands-off social site Gab, citing the more aggressive policing of political comments on mainstream platforms such as Twitter Inc and Facebook Inc.

Google, in its announcement Friday that it was suspending Parler, said that Parler must demonstrate “robust” content moderation if it wants to get back in the store.

This is a blatant attempt to shut down conservative speech. I have been on Parler for a while, and I have not seen any hate speech or anything encouraging violence. If encouraging violence is a problem, why has no one dealt with some of the comments members of Congress have made about harassing members of the Trump administration if you see them in public?

Banishing Political Opposition

We have all seen the news that President Trump has been banned from Twitter and Facebook. There are some people who see that as justified, but how many people have to be banned before those people become concerned?

Legal Insurrection posted an article today about Facebook banning the “Walk Away Movement” page. The page consisted of personal testimonies of people who have left the Democrat party discussing their reasons for leaving.

The article quotes a Washington Examiner article:

“FACEBOOK has removed the #WalkAway Campaign and has BANNED ME and EVERY MEMBER of my team!!!” Straka, founder of the #WalkAway movement, tweeted Friday morning.

“Over half a million people in #WalkAway with hundreds of thousands of testimonial videos and stories is GONE,” he added. “Facebook has banned everything related to #WalkAway.”

Straka also included screenshots of messages from Facebook, including one that said the page was “removed for violating terms of use.”

Straka confirmed to the Washington Examiner that his Facebook group, the business page for the nonprofit group, and his personal account were all shut down Friday morning.

He added that people merely associated with the page were also removed from Facebook.

“Every volunteer, every paid employee, banned,” Straka said.

How can this be perceived as anything other than political?

As long as we have people in Congress that take large donations from big tech, no action will be taken to hold Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., accountable. It is unfortunate that somehow the Republicans didn’t get to that when they held the Senate.

 

This Doesn’t Look Good For The Future

Yesterday One America News posted an article about what has happened since Colorado implemented red flag laws a year ago.

The article reports:

According to the report released on Thursday, over 100 red flag protection orders were filed in 2020.

Police reportedly removed firearms from the homes of 66 people who were flagged by family members, legal guardians or law enforcement officers. Under the new law, a judge can approve firearm confiscation if there is a belief a person could be a threat to themselves or others.

One of the most recent instances of the order in action is in the case of Bryce Shelby, a man accused of making threats against the state’s attorney general and several other government officials.

Denver Police alleged Shelby’s behavior was escalating and through the red flag laws, they forced him to surrender his two rifles. Though the state’s attorney general chose not to press charges against Shelby, he will not regain possession of his firearms for a total of 364 days.

Several of the year’s emergency Extreme Risk Protection Orders were placed against law enforcement, but were shut down by the courts.

For example, early on in 2020, an inmate tried to claim Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams was a threat. The order request was sent to a judge who quickly threw it out for lack of evidence, which allowed some to say the law worked. However, Reams argues it showed the law can be used frivolously.

The article concludes:

Reams is among those who are the most skeptical of the new law due to its vague guidelines, which allow weapons to be confiscated even without criminal charges.

“But to go in and conduct a search warrant on someone’s home based on the word of a third party, I think that’s a huge overreach of the Constitution,” Reams stated. “And that’s where I’d have to draw the line.”

There has been a lot of debate over the constitutionality of red flag laws. The President has said he supports them at the federal level, but gun advocates argue the orders contradict the Second Amendment.

Andrew Napolitano, who served as a New Jersey Superior Court judge from 1987 to 1995,  said: “The concept of a red flag law violates both the presumption of innocence and the due process requirement of proof of criminal behavior before liberty can be infringed.”

Heading into the New Year with an incoming Democrat majority in the new Congress, many proponents of the right to bear arms worry about future restrictive gun laws.

Losing the Second Amendment while the First Amendment is on life support does not portend good things for the future of America.

Looking For Answers

The Daily Wire posted the following today:

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) demanded answers Friday after video emerged on social media that seemingly depicts Capitol Police opening the doors to pro-Trump protesters and allowing them to ascend the steps to the Rotunda.

Tweeting out the video from OAN reporter Christina Bobb, Roy said, “We need answers from the Capitol Police and Congressional leadership. Now.”

As I have previously stated, this has all of the markings of a false flag operation.

The article continues:

The video shows demonstrators entering the Capitol, shuffling through the hallway, and making their way up the stairs as alarms sound and officers stand aside. One of the officers says, “I disagree with it, but…” The rest of the officer’s statement is unclear.

The Capitol Police are under intense scrutiny after Trump supporters sieged the complex Wednesday and got inside for about four hours, breaching both the House and Senate chambers. Legislators either escaped to a more secure location or sheltered in place. Protesters broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) office and made off with some of her belongings, including the speaker’s lectern.

The Department of Justice has warned that the intruders who stole computers and documents could also have snatched some national security secrets.

Several security officials at the Capitol have resigned after lawmakers publicly called for them to step down following the unprecedented security breach.

I seriously doubt we will be allowed to get to the bottom of this as it would expose people who have the power to remain unexposed. There were no heroes on Wednesday. There were a bunch of cowards and opportunists. Moving on will be difficult knowing that the fraud that occurred in the 2020 election will probably never be resolved and will occur again in the future.

Hiding The Truth

Yesterday The Federalist reported that YouTube will ban all videos dealing with election fraud.

The article notes:

“As we shared previously, we do not allow content that misleads people by alleging that widespread fraud or errors changed the outcome of the 2020 U.S. presidential election,” YouTube’s statement read. “This policy applies to videos uploaded on or after December 9.”

You mean the videos of the vote counters blocking the windows so that the observers couldn’t observe? You mean the videos of the vote counters pulling out suitcases of ballots after sending everyone home? You mean the videos of the vote counters scanning the same ballots multiple times? Those videos?

The article concludes:

“Now that the election results have been certified, and due to the extraordinary events that transpired yesterday, videos uploaded on or after today (January 7) that violate this policy will both be removed and a strike will be applied to the channel,” the statement said. “As strikes can impact a channel’s standing, including the ability to upload … we recommend that you be familiar with the policy when publishing relevant content on YouTube.”

This decision follows several moves by other big tech companies to censor President Donald Trump after a destructive mob breached the Capitol on Wednesday. Facebook and Instagram recently announced they are banning the president from their platforms indefinitely, citing concerns that he is inciting violence.

Twitter also took action against Trump, locking his account on Wednesday for reportedly violating its Civic Integrity policies. Snapchat locked Trump’s account on its platform shortly after rioters began their descent on the Capitol building.

And so it begins. Even before the Democrats take power, they are limiting free speech and the free flow of information. I suspect this is only going to get worse.

Mission Accomplished–Subject Changed

The more I read, the more I am convinced that the storming of the Capitol was a false flag operation. I have read many accounts of people who were there, and a lot of what I am hearing does not add up. One of things that makes me suspicious is that there is very little talk of election fraud right now. That has been swept entirely under the rug. What happened at the Capitol building was horrible and inexcusable, but a fraudulent election is also a matter for concern.

Watch the videos. Does the crowd look like the usual crowd that shows up at Trump rallies? Do the people running through the hallways look like typical Trump supporters? How many rallies has President Trump held? How much violence has occurred at these rallies? What happened on Wednesday does not in any way fit the pattern of Trump events.

Notice that the events of Wednesday are being used as an excuse to remove President Trump from office. Were there calls for Bernie Sanders to step down after his campaign volunteer shot up the softball field where Republicans were playing and a member of Congress was seriously wounded?

Notice that Facebook and other social media outlets have at least temporarily banned President Trump from posting. Why might that be? Could it be that they are afraid that he will post evidence of voter fraud?

Unfortunately this election will stand. Unfortunately that is an invitation to further election fraud. It is a sad day for our country when our representatives do not press forward to learn the truth. I suspect the censorship of the President is only the beginning of the censorship of conservative speech. Most of what I post on Facebook is now fact-checked by people who aren’t really looking at facts. The next four years are going to be difficult for all Americans, but only about half of us understand what is coming.

What Are They Afraid Of?

Just the News reported the following today:

Nineteen Democratic lawmakers signed on to a letter on Wednesday urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in order to remove President Trump from office.

“For the sake of our democracy, we emphatically urge you to invoke the 25th Amendment and begin the process of removing President Trump from power,” the letter says. “President Trump has shown time and again that he is unwilling to protect our Democracy and carry out the duties of the office.”

This represents the coup they have been planning since President Trump took office. Why would they do that with only 17 days left until the inauguration? Maybe because the President could still declassify a lot of information that might be a problem for the people in Congress and for the incoming administration.

The article continues:

Rep. David Cicilline tweeted that if the vice president does not make such a move, Congress should impeach Trump.

Multiple legislators on Wednesday called for the president to be impeached: “I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment,” Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar said in a tweet.

“Impeach,” Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a one-word tweet.

“Donald J. Trump should immediately be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate as soon as Congress reconvenes,” Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley tweeted.

This is somewhat amazing. When you look at the economic accomplishments of President Trump, the foreign policy successes, the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus, the fact that the middle class has prospered during the Trump administration, and the fact that we have gone four years without a new war, you wonder what in the world they are talking about.

The 12th rule of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals is:

RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Unfortunately for our country, we have watched that rule in action for the past four years. That does not say good things about our future.

The Californication Of America

Issues & Insights posted an article today about what to expect from the Biden administration.

The article notes:

Joe Biden promised Georgians a $2,000 check if they elected his party’s Senate candidates in the state’s runoff elections, and his bribery worked, with Democrats winning both, handing them control of the White House and Congress again.

But while Biden made the election all about battling COVID-19 and “healing the nation,” that is not what the far left that controls the Democratic Party cares about. It has bigger plans — namely, to turn the nation into a California-style one-party state.

By all rights, the 2020 elections should be a warning to extremists on the left. Biden eked out a victory with extremely narrow – and often questionable – victories in a handful of states after promising voters only that he would be a non-Trumpian nice guy.

Meanwhile, Democrats lost ground in the House, with the edge in their majority dropping from 36 seats to 10. And with the two Georgia wins, Democrats managed only a tie in the Senate, which is now split 50-50. (With Biden in the White House, Democrats can control the Senate because Kamala Harris will serve as the tie-breaking vote.)

The article reports:

Biden keeps talking about the need to “heal” the nation, which seems to fit the precarious position his party is in at the moment. Even if he believes that, his party doesn’t. And Democrats have been clear about the priorities they will pursue should they get control of the White House and Congress again.

No, we’re not talking about things like huge tax hikes or Obamacare, which is what they imposed the last two times they controlled both branches.

The stated goal today is to ensure a permanent Democratic majority so they can finally get their far-left agenda enacted.

In other words, they want to replicate what Democrats have already achieved in California.

This isn’t some right-wing conspiracy. This is what Democratic leaders have already stated as their plans or have already approved in the House.

For example, the very first thing Democrats did in the House this year, after seeing their lead shrink dramatically, was to approve a set of rules designed to neutralize Republicans as much as possible. Among others is a rule that will allow the House to pass massive new spending bills – a la the Green New Deal – without having to show how they’d be paid for. There’s a reason that socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is celebrating these new rules.

Down Memory Lane

Yesterday in Washington was horrible. It was horrible because the Capitol was breached and people killed, but the other casualties of the day were honest, transparent elections and any hope of consistency from our media and elected officials.

Yesterday The Scoop posted an article about an event people may have forgotten.

The article notes:

When far-left radical communists protesting against the appointment of Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court took over the Hart Senate Office Building atrium on Capitol Hill on October 4, 2018, leftists on Twitter PRAISED them.

That was then, this is now.

Now let’s take another trip down memory lane to July 2, 2020. The Federalist reported the following:

Thursday afternoon, Democrats killed a resolution aimed at curbing mob violence. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) introduced the bill after a man in Utah was mobbed then shot by a group of rioters. The non-binding resolution offered a statement of support for peaceful protesters and law enforcement who do their job well, while condemning violence and the desecration of monuments across the country.

“A non-binding resolution is the tiniest first step of a response,” Lee read as he introduced it. “We need to do much, much more… but in this divided political moment,… showing that Senate Republicans and Senate Democrats are able to speak with one voice against woke mob violence and in defense of equal justice and civic peace would be a welcome step.”

The resolutions itself states that the country was “founded on universal principles of freedom, justice, and human equality.” It also acknowledged that “throughout our nation’s history, Americans have struggled to realize those ideals … but nonetheless made greater progress toward them than any nation on earth.”

The resolution was immediately attacked. The article reports:

The intended bipartisan resolution swiftly ran into problems. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) spoke directly after Lee to kill the bill. “The resolution reeks of supremacism. Reeks of supremacist views. And it seeks to mischaracterize overwhelmingly peaceful protests across the nation.”

Menendez then offered to support the resolution on one condition: if it condemned President Trump. He stated that if a sentence was added condemning “politicians who incite violence, especially President Trump,” the resolution would be acceptable. He then attacked the president for retweeting a video of two homeowners pointing firearms at a mob that stormed the gates to their private neighborhood.

What happened yesterday was tragic, but those in Congress and in the media need to look in the mirror before blaming others.

Unfortunately Honesty Has Become A Partisan Item

An article posted at Sara Carter’s website today reports the following:

In a new poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, 73% of Republican likely voters support the Senators challenging Joe Biden’s election.

Meanwhile, 75% of Democrat likely voters oppose the effort, according to the poll.

According to Quoteinvestigator.com:

In 1983 U.S Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan was a member of the National Commission on Social Security Reform. He employed the saying within an op-ed piece in the “Washington Post”: 9

There is a center in American politics. It can govern. The commission is just an example of what can be done. First, get your facts straight. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts. Second, decide to live with the facts. Third, resolve to surmount them. Because, fourth, what is at stake is our capacity to govern.

So what are the facts? Peter Navarro summed them up in a Newsmax article in mid-December:

The six voting irregularities reviewed in the report (“The Immaculate Deception: Six Key Dimensions of Election Irregularities”) linked up with six battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The findings aim to bolster the contention by President Donald Trump and his legal team that the Nov. 3 election was marred by widespread fraud. Trump has refused to concede the race, even as the Electoral College affirmed a victory by Joe Biden that’s due to be certified by Congress on Jan. 6.

These are the six voting irregularities:

  1. Outright voter fraud.
  2. Ballot mishandling.
  3. Contestable process fouls.
  4. Equal protection clause violations.
  5. Voting machine irregularities.
  6. Significant statistical anomalies.

We are at a crossroads. Do we let cheating stand, knowing that it will only get worse in the future, or do brave men speak out against corruption, regardless of political party? In a way, it is up to the voters–we elected these people. I don’t know if our votes will count in the future, but it they do, we need to unelect anyone who is not willing to speak out against election fraud.
