State colleagues:

I just tried you on the phone but you were all in with S [apparent reference to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton].

After consulting with General Dempsey, General Ham and the Joint Staff, we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak. They include a [REDACTED].

Assuming Principals agree to deploy these elements, we will ask State to procure the approval from host nation. Please advise how you wish to convey that approval to us [REDACTED].

The article further explains:

The timing of the Bash email is particularly significant based upon testimony given to members of Congress by Gregory Hicks, Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. embassy in Tripoli at the time of the Benghazi terrorist attack. According to Hicks’ 2013 testimony, a show of force by the U.S. military during the siege could have prevented much of the carnage. Said Hicks, “if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split. They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them.”

Ultimately, Special Operations forces on their own initiative traveled from Tripoli to Benghazi to provide support during the attack.  Other military assets were only used to recover the dead and wounded, and to evacuate U.S. personnel from Libya.  In fact, other documents released in October by Judicial Watch show that only one U.S. plane was available to evacuate Americans from Benghazi to Tripoli and raise questions about whether a delay of military support led to additional deaths in Benghazi.

I believe lying to Congress under oath is against the law. Unfortunately, I doubt there is anyone is our government willing to uphold that law.

Smile, You Are Being Manipulated (Again)

I repeat. I am not a supporter of Donald Trump. I am, however, a supporter of an honest press and honest reporting. In the coverage of Donald Trump, there is no danger of either. Donald Trump is currently being drawn and quartered in the press for recent remarks about suspending Muslim immigration to America.

This is the direct quote taken from First Coast News:

“Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again.”

He was referring to a poll taken by The Polling Company for the Center for Security Policy (CSP).

The Center for Security Policy has replied to criticism of this poll:

In June 2015, the Center for Security Policy commissioned a nationwide online survey among 600 Muslim adults (age 18+) living in the United States.  The methodology used for this online survey instrument is consistent with international industry standards outlined in the ESOMAR Guideline for Online Research. The Center for Security Policy stands by the findings in our nationwide poll and we invite anyone to view its findings.

This is what the poll found:

According to the just-released survey of Muslims, a majority (51%) agreed that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.”  When that question was put to the broader U.S. population, the overwhelming majority held that shariah should not displace the U.S. Constitution (86% to 2%).

More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled also believe either that they should have the choice of American or shariah courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply shariah. Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts.

These notions were powerfully rejected by the broader population according to the Center’s earlier national survey.  It found by a margin of 92%-2% that Muslims should be subject to the same courts as other citizens, rather than have their own courts and tribunals here in the U.S.

Even more troubling, is the fact that nearly a quarter of the Muslims polled believed that, “It is legitimate to use violence to punish those who give offense to Islam by, for example, portraying the prophet Mohammed.”

By contrast, the broader survey found that a 63% majority of those sampled said that “the freedom to engage in expression that offends Muslims or anybody else is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and cannot be restricted.”

Nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the United States is justified in order to make shariah the law of the land in this country.

The results of this poll are much more of a problem than any statement made by a political candidate.

I would also like to mention that Jimmy Carter banned Iranians from entering the United States unless they opposed the Shiite Islamist regime or had a medical emergency. This is noted in a Front Page Magazine article from yesterday. The press is attempting to manipulate the American public into calling Donald Trump a racist, bigot, whatever. They have misquoted him and ignored his evidence. Again, I am not supporting him for President, but I don’t like the media thinking they can choose the Republican candidate. If the Republicans allow that, they are the stupid party and deserve to lose.

Breaking Faith With Our Military

The Obama Administration has not been good to our military. They have quietly reduced the medical benefits and the savings in the commissaries and exchanges. They have reduced the effectiveness of our military by putting women in combat. (In September USA Today reported that a study done by the Marines showed that all-male ground combat units were more effective than teams that included women.) Ignoring the results of that study will cost American soldiers lives. Another problem is the Obama Administration’s ignoring some of the corruption among the leaders in Afghanistan. That corruption directly cost the lives of three Marines in Helmand Province in 2012.

The Marine officer who tried to warn his fellow Marines about a possible Taliban conspirator is now being forced out of the Marines. The Marine Corps Times posted an article about the case yesterday.

The article reports:

A Marine veteran in Congress has called on the country’s top law enforcement agency to investigate a senior Navy official’s decision to force out a Marine officer who tried to warn his comrades in Afghanistan about a suspected Taliban conspirator.

In a Dec. 3 letter to Defense Secretary Ash Carter, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., said the FBI should look into the case involving Maj. Jason Brezler, a Reserve civil affairs officer who sent classified information from a personal email account in 2012.

Scott Lutterloh, the acting assistant Navy secretary for manpower and reserve affairs, recently upheld the decision that Brezler be honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. But Hunter said Brezler’s case received “inadequate attention by the Department of Defense Inspector General and Navy criminal investigators.”

In his letter, Hunter urged the Pentagon to take steps to launch an FBI investigation of the case, to include the U.S. military’s relationship with Sarwar Jan, a corrupt Afghan police chief and the man at the center of Brezler’s email warning.

The full explanation of the events surrounding Major Brezler is posted here.

As I view these events, I am reminded of the number of classified emails on Mrs. Clinton’s private server. There seems to be a double standard here. I am also disgusted that our troops are not taking action against pedophilia on our military bases in Afghanistan. I understand that pedophilia is part of the Muslim Afghanistan culture, but it is a value that we as Americans cannot condone.

Time To End My Naivety

I am relatively  new to the south. I lived here for a few years as a child, but have been away a long time. Thirty-five years in New England left me immersed in a culture I was not really aware of until I left. Southern culture includes guns, gun safety, hunting, and other forms of recreation and personal protection that are totally alien to me. Recent events have convinced me that it is time to embrace that aspect of the culture of my new home.

I love steak. As far as I am concerned, steak comes from a styrofoam and plastic package in the supermarket meat section. By faith I accept that and refuse to look past the obvious. Until recently, I believed that my safety was the responsibility of the local and state law enforcement people and that they would adequately do their job. I still believe that they do their job to the best of their ability, but it has occurred to me that I need to look past the obvious and begin to take some responsibility for my own safety.

The shootings in Paris and in California both took place in locations with strict gun laws. In both cases, the shootings occurred in gun-free zones. I believe that the end result would have been different in both cases if one of the intended victims had been armed. Despite the fact that the news is reporting today that the weapons used in California were legally purchased between 2007 and 2012, gun controls in California have supposedly taken those weapons off the streets. Obviously, not everyone in areas where certain (or all) guns are banned is interested in following the law.

I am not enthusiastic about learning to shoot and learning to defend myself, but on the other hand, I definitely have a vested interest in my own safety. At least temporarily, I believe that we have reached a place in America where good people have to take responsibility for their own safety. Unfortunately, the police cannot be everywhere at once, and there are obviously some people in this country who want to do us harm. Historically speaking, police will tell you that most murder victims are murdered by family members or people they know. This means that as long as you are careful in choosing your friends (and hopefully have upstanding family members) you are unlikely to be a victim of a killer. Since Paris, San Bernardino, and other incidents involving members of the military on American soil, that has changed. It is time to put away our naivety and learn to protect ourselves. Hopefully at some time in the future, the threat of terrorism will be gone, but it will still be to our advantage to know how to defend ourselves.

Following The Money In San Bernardino

Fox News is reporting today that two weeks before he killed his co-workers, a $28,500 deposit was made into the bank account of the San Bernardino shooter. In the days before the shooting, $10,000 of that money was withdrawn as cash and there were three transfers of $5,000 that appear to be to his mother.

The article reports:

The loan and large cash withdrawal were described to Fox News by the source as “significant evidence of pre-meditation,” and further undercut the premise that an argument at the Christmas party on Dec. 2 led to the shooting.

Fox News is also told that investigators are exploring whether the $10,000 cash withdrawal was used to reimburse Enrique Marquez, the man who bought the two semiautomatic rifles used in the San Bernardino shootings. Marquez is now reportedly answering investigators’ questions.

“Right now our major concern at the FBI, the ATF, and the JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Force) is determining how those firearms, the rifles in particular, got from Marquez to Farook and to Malik,”  assistant special agent in charge with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, John D’Angelo, told reporters in California Monday.

At the same news conference,  authorities said the weapons were all legally purchased in California between 2007 and 2012.

The article brings up the issue of whether or not the $10,000 cash withdrawal should have triggered reporting requirements. Deposits over $10,000 need to be reported, but I am not sure about withdrawals.

It is interesting to me that the weapons were said to have been legally purchased before California passed stricter gun control laws. If they were purchased legally before the law was passed, how was the sale of those weapons legal? Who brought the shooter and the person with the guns together?

The fact that the shooter rented the SUV two days before the attack is also an indication that this was a premeditated attack.

The thing we need to remember when dealing with terrorists is that they are not stupid. The people recruiting (not the people who are planning to be killed) understand our laws and know how to get around them. They are also very patient. They are willing to take a year or two to plan an operation before carrying it out. As Americans, we live in a society where the microwave takes too long. We need to understand that protecting our people and preserving our country is going to be a long-term struggle and we need to be prepared for it.

Socialism Can Be Defeated

The Center for Security Policy is reporting today that the voters of Venezuela allocated 99 out of 167 seats to the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) and the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) garnered 46 seats, with the remaining 22 seats still to be adjudicated. This vote represents the end of the socialist regime in Venezuela.

The article reports:

Founding organizations such as the Bolivarian Alliance of the Americas (ALBA), the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), the government propaganda satellite channel Telesur, as well as sponsoring economic partnerships like the Caribbean Petroleum consortium (PETROCARIBE), the Chavez administration curried favor and goodwill throughout Latin America, as other left-leaning governments were elected in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Bolivia.

These institutions were meant to supplant the International Government Organizations regime which has been in place since the end of WWII and led by the United Nations and the Organization of American States.  In fact, Chavez had a very contentious relationship with both bodies, routinely denouncing the UN as a “stooge of imperialism” and the OAS as a “shameful” organization every time his authoritarian and undemocratic actions were criticized.

This is the beginning of a new day in Venezuela.

The article concludes:

The MUD now has its work cut out for them. The first order of business is to determine exactly how many deputies will take their seats in the new session on January 5th.  A super majority of 110 is needed to enact meaningful reforms, especially as the Venezuelan economy has been in a death spiral due to gross mismanagement combined with the decline in oil prices.

Congratulations to the voters of Venezuela for voting for freedom.

Confirming The Obvious

The Hill has posted an article today stating that Islamic extremists have explored using the refugee program to enter the United States. This was confirmed by the head of the House Homeland Security Committee on Monday.

The article reports:

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) declined to go into detail about the determination, which the Obama administration has not announced publicly.

Yet the disclosure could add ammunition to critics of the White House’s refugee plans who have warned that the program is vulnerable to infiltration by adherents of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

“ISIS members in Syria have attempted to exploit it to get into the United States,” McCaul said during a speech at the National Defense University on Monday.

“The U.S. government has information to indicate that individuals tied to terrorist groups in Syria have already attempted to gain access to our country through the U. S. refugee program.”

McCaul would not say specifically who informed him and other lawmakers about the revelation, only describing the sources as “elements of the intelligence community.”

The people who desire to destroy America are not stupid. They range from those who want to set up a world-wide Islamic caliphate that includes America to those who simply want to end America’s role as a beacon of freedom. It should not be a surprise to any thinking person that our porous borders and lax immigration policies can be exploited by both of these groups. I suggest that we do everything we can to settle the Syrian refugees in countries near their country so that they can return home to rebuild their country when the civil war ends. If they want to come to America, it should be on the condition that they assimilate.

Meanwhile, I think we need to suspend the flow of refugees until we have a better idea of who they are.

I Am Sure This Is Just An Incredible Coincidence

If Americans want to be fully informed on Islamic terrorism–who it is, what it is, and how it works–they need to be familiar with the Holy Land Foundation trial and the government exhibits that are filed with it. In 2008 the directors of the Holy Land Foundation (America’s largest Islamic charity) were convicted on multiple charges of terrorism financing. The trial revealed a lot about the Muslim Brotherhood in America–its plans, its operations, and its affiliated groups. The government exhibits from the Holy Land Foundation trial are available on line. They are in Arabic, but the English translation follows. There were also numerous Muslim organizations named in the trial as unindicted co-conspirators. Some of the groups with known associations to the Muslim Brotherhood are CAIR, ICNA, MSA, ISNA and others. For further information about the Holy Land Foundation Trial and these organizations, I suggest reading Shariah the Threat to America, the Team B II Report (available on Amazon) and the Muslim Mafia by P. David Gaubatz (available on Amazon). Meanwhile, what follows is an illustration of why all Americans need this information.

Yesterday the Daily Caller posted an article about Rafia Farook, the mother of San Bernardino terrorist Syed Rizwan Farook. Mrs. Farook is an active member of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), a Muslim organization that promotes the establishment of a caliphate and has ties to a radical Pakistani political group called Jamaat-e-Islami.

The relationship between Mrs. Farook and ICNA was uncovered by MSNBC when they ransacked (I’m sorry, searched) the shooters’ apartment after the FBI was finished with the crime scene. Either the FBI failed to uncover this link or they simply forgot to mention it.

The article reports:

Al-Qaeda recruiter Anwar al-Awlaki has spoken at the group’s events. He spoke at an ICNA event in Baltimore in 2002, though the group has said that al-Awlaki was not radicalized at that time. Al-Awlaki exchanged emails with Nidal Hasan, the Army major who killed 13 people in a terrorist attack at Fort Hood in Nov. 2009. Al-Awlaki was killed by a U.S. drone strike in 2011 in Yemen.

Another ICNA member was indicted in April on federal terrorism charges. Noelle Valentzas and another woman were charged with plotting an attack on New York City similar to the attacks at the Boston Marathon.

Why are these people still building and running mosques in America? This is not a religious group–this is a terrorist group. Freedom of religion does not include freedom to plan terrorist attacks against America.

This Isn’t How It’s Done On CSI

On Friday, Breitbart.com posted an article about the actions of the FBI regarding the home of the killers in San Bernardino. The actions taken by the FBI were inappropriate; and unfortunately, fit a pattern of conduct that is not constructive.

The article reports:

The shocking sight of journalists storming into the apartment of the San Bernardino terrorists, less than 48 hours after the attack, was apparently allowed by the FBI, which handed the apartment back over to the landlord, who let the media in with a crowbar.

How much information will be lost to the investigation because the FBI was so quick to leave the place where pipe bombs were being built and ammunition was being stockpiled? How many sets of fingerprints will never be investigated?

Unfortunately this is not a unique situation for President Obama’s FBI.

The article further reports:

For example, the government has done almost nothing with the treasure trove of intelligence information it recovered during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in May 2011. Stephen F. Hayes of the Weekly Standard has waged a lonely battle to force the government to take the intelligence seriously–intelligence that could disrupt terror networks and prevent future attacks around the world. “They haven’t done anything close to a full exploitation,” perhaps only 10%, he quoted one analyst in May 2015.

The following year, after the Benghazi terror attack–which the Obama administration insisted was a protest over a YouTube video–the FBI arrived on the scene several weeks later, after terrorists and curious locals had enjoyed the opportunity to roam the scene and remove or change whatever they wanted. Fox News reported on Oct. 5, 2012 that an FBI team had waited for weeks before visiting the consulate, and that they stayed only briefly. (To this day, Democrats insist a video explanation was plausible.)

Somehow I am convinced that this is not the way CSI would have done it.

Haven’t These People Read The U. S. Constitution?

ABC News posted an article yesterday about Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s remarks in response to the killings in San Bernardino this week. The Attorney General is prepared to take decisive action.

The article reports

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch pledged that the Department of Justice will go after hate speech that might incite violence against the Muslim community, she told a crowd of Muslim-Americans and supporters Thursday night.

“Obviously this is a country that is based on free speech,” Lynch told the audience at the Muslim Advocates dinner in Arlington, VA. “But when that edges towards violence…we will take action.”

Muslim Advocates, a legal advocacy group, asked Lynch to address concerns about an uptick in anti-Muslim rhetoric and hate crimes.

Since 9/11, Lynch says that the Department of Justice has investigated more than 11,000 acts of anti-Muslim rhetoric, which have led to 45 prosecutions. “I think sadly, that number is going to rise,” said Lynch.

I truly believe that these people have their priorities backwards. She is prosecuting Americans for speech. Is she prosecuting those Muslims who are terrorists for their terrorism?

As I have written before, one of the interim goals of that part of the Muslim population that espouses the idea of a world-side caliphate is to bring non-Muslims under Sharia Law. Under Islam “Defamation of Islam” is a crime which can be punished by death. Defamation is defined as any statement the hearer regards as negative. Truth has no role in this decision. Under Sharia Law even the definition of slander is not concerned with truth–it is concerned with how the statement makes the hearer feel. Sharia Law and free speech are incompatible, and any attempt to limit free speech by anyone should be looked on very suspiciously.

The article further reports:

In recent weeks, Donald Trump advocated for a national registry of Muslim Americans — which he later denied — and claimed that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated after the September 11 attacks.

“The demagoguery has to stop,” Muslim American Congressman Andre Carson (D-IN), who introduced Lynch, told ABC News. Carson said that public figures make these remarks because they “get affirmation from being provocative.”

The fist statement is an outright lie, aimed at the low-information voter (see transcript of conversation that charge is taken from), the second statement has been documented to be true by Washington Post stories and videos taken from news reports at the time.

The bottom line here is that you can defame anything you want under the First Amendment. If you slander an individual, you may wind up in court; and if you slander a race, someone may decide you are an idiot, but you do have the First Amendment right to be an idiot if you choose to do so.

The Attorney General is supposed to enforce the U.S. Constitution–not undermine it. The Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer of the country–it is his (or her) job to uphold the law and the U.S. Constitution–not make up her own law.

Workplace Violence Does Not Usually Involve Removing A Digital Footprint

Yesterday The Washington Times posted an article about some of the actions the killers in San Bernardino took before going on their killing spree. It is becoming very obvious that this was a planned attack and that the killers did not complete all of what they set out to do.

The article reports:

The Muslim husband and wife behind the mass shooting in San Bernardino began erasing their digital footprint a day in advance of the deadly attack, deleting email accounts, disposing of hard drives and smashing their cellphones, according to law enforcement investigators who are treating the probe as a counterterrorism case.

Investigators edged closer Thursday to the conclusion that Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, were radicalized by Islamist extremists either in the U.S. or during trips to the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.

Working to determine whether terrorism was the motive in the attack at a government-organized holiday party, officials scrambled to re-create the travels, contacts and lifestyle of Farook, a 28-year-old U.S. citizen of Pakistani descent, and his 27-year-old Pakistani wife.

Please reread that last sentence. The killers had bombs, automatic weapons, combat gear, etc. The were planning on killing people they knew and people they did not know. Why are we so reluctant to call it terrorism? Don’t you think that the people in that building were terrorized?

The article further reports:

But fresh details continued to emerge about the background of the two — supporting the notion that the attack was planned and not a spur-of-the-moment response to a party snub or quarrel.

The couple had a 6-month-old daughter, who was left in a relative’s care before they stormed the Inland Regional Center bedecked in tactical-style clothes and spraying 75 rounds into the conference room.

Three pipe bombs configured as one large explosive device were recovered from the center. Police also found bomb-making materials, 12 pipe bombs and more than 4,500 rounds of ammunition inside the couple’s home.

“This is not your average investigation,” said David Bowdich, assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office, mentioning the multiple crime scenes, victims and recovered evidence. “It will take time.”

Officials involved in the investigation said the couple appeared to have gone to great lengths to conceal themselves and make difficult investigation of their plans — further suggesting premeditation.

A cellphone recovered from Malik’s body was newly purchased and had been used only recently. Two other cellphones that were recovered had been smashed with a hammer and were expected to be sent to the FBI’s forensic lab in Washington for examination.

Authorities also noted that a hard drive and motherboard were missing from a computer found at the Redlands, California, home that the couple rented.

This was a well-planned attack. The solution to this sort of attack is to train civilians in the use of guns and encourage civilians to carry. A gun in the room carried by a trained civilian would have cut the number of casualties and ended the attack on the spot.

This Was Not A Random Occurrence Of Workplace Violence

CNN is reporting today about the shootings in San Bernardino, California, yesterday. The shooters were not only well armed when they went began shooting up the holiday party, they also had quite an arsenal ready for future attempts.

But let’s stop a minute and think about what they did. The shootings took place in a government building–therefore no guns were allowed and there would be no one there who could shoot back. The gun laws in place said it was a ‘gun free’ zone. The shooters chose to ignore that gun law. Why are some politicians screaming that we need more laws? What would have changed?

The article tells an alarming story about possible future plans of the couple:

The husband and wife didn’t leave behind a note at Inland Regional. But they did stash three explosive devices — rigged to a remote-controlled toy car — that didn’t go off.

And in their SUV, authorities found two .223-caliber rifles along with two pistols, which officials said were legally purchased three to four years ago.

Back at Inland Regional, authorities found three rudimentary explosive devices packed with black powder and rigged to a remote-controlled toy car. That remote was found inside the SUV. And in the vehicle was another pipe-like device, but it was not an explosive, Burguan said.

Authorities converged on the couple’s residence in Redlands, looking for any other evidence — more weapons or clues that could shed light on a motive.

The police chief said late Wednesday that terrorism couldn’t be ruled out. He did say that, given everything involved, the attack didn’t appear to be a spur-of-the-moment decision.

“I think, based on what we’ve seen, there was some degree of planning,” Burguan said.

I think it is time to wake up. I don’t know what could have been done to prevent this attack, but we need to realize that there are people who are living in America with us who are planning these sort of attacks.

The article further reports:

Farook’s brother-in-law Farhan Khan said he was “devastated” by the news.

“I have no idea why he would he do something like this. I have absolutely no idea. I am in shock myself,” Khan said. “I don’t have words to express how sad and how devastated I am.”

Khan said he last talked to Farook a week ago. Farook’s family had tried to reach him all day Wednesday but could not. Hussam Ayloush, the head of the Southern California chapter of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, said Farook and his wife had dropped off their 6-month-old girl with her grandmother and claimed they were going to a doctor’s appointment before the massacre.

“There’s absolutely nothing that could justify (this shooting),” Ayloush told reporters. “And we stand in mourning and sadness for what happened.”

It is very interesting to me that the head of the Southern California chapter of the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) released a statement about this shooting so quickly. CAIR is listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Trial. A bit of research will link them to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Muslim Brotherhood’s plans for America. It is a fairly safe guess, based on the information that we now have, that Syed Rizwan Farook was not simply a disgruntled employee. Thank God the explosive device he rigged at Inland Regional was put together incorrectly and did not go off.

When Is A Hate Crime Not A Hate Crime?

Haaretz is reporting today that the New York City Police Department has identified the arsonist who has set fire to seven Bukharan Jewish homes in Forest Hills, a heavily Jewish neighborhood of Queens.

The article reports:

Police said the fires are not hate crimes, but were motivated by the arsonist’s opposition to new construction of Bukharan Jewish homes in Forest Hills, a heavily Jewish neighborhood of Queens.

…“If seven Jewish homes had been burned in France within a month, there would be much more of an uproar,” said Boris Yuabov, a doctor who has lived in the community for the past six years.

“We are scared,” he added. “These fires are started in the dead of night in a neighborhood with many children and elderly individuals. This is a life-threatening situation.”

This is what anti-Semitism looks like. If these houses had belonged to a different group of people, I wonder if it would have been considered a hate crime.

We Need To Re-Boot Washington

The Washington Times posted a story today about the rise of ISIS in the Middle East during 2012.

The story reports:

The nations former top spy said Tuesday that President Obama ignored early warning about the rise of the Islamic State terrorist group in 2011 and 2012 because the intelligence did not fit his re-election “narrative.”

When asked if his warnings about the extremist group were ignored, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency told CNN, “I think they did not meet a particular narrative that the White House needed, and I’ll be very candid with you, I have said and I believe that the people around the president, his sort of inner circle that were advising him, I think advised him incorrectly.”

Gen. Flynn said his agency’s intelligence report issued in 2012 did not reinforce the positive narrative that the U.S. was beating terror groups in the Middle East.

“I think the narrative was that al Qaeda was on the run, and [Osama] bin Laden was dead,” he said. “They’re dead and … we’ve beaten them. …”

Shortly after the DIA gave its report to the president, Mr. Obama compared the Islamic State to the “JV team.”

Last month, the president claimed that the terror organization had been “contained” just before extremists in Paris carried out multiple attacks that left 130 people dead and hundreds injured.

Somehow politics and political parties have become more important than protecting Americans and fulfilling our promises to other countries. The early withdrawal from Iraq by President Obama was political. Talking heads at the time stated that we would eventually have to go back to Iraq in some form. They have been proven correct. Downplaying the strength of ISIS as they were growing in Iraq was also a political move. To admit what was happening would have admitted that our early withdrawal from Iraq created a disaster.

The article further states:

Gen. Flynn argued that any problems identified with the intelligence reports began at the top of the chain: the White House.

“If [the president] feels like he’s getting poor intelligence, then he needs to either find different people, or he needs to figure out what’s the matter with the system that’s in place because that is a huge system. It’s the best in the world if it’s focused properly,” Gen. Flynn told CNN.

“The president has to say, ‘Hey, I need the best of whatever it is that you have. I want unvarnished truth. And if I’m not getting the unvarnished truth, then I need to find it from other people that will give it to me,’ ” Gen. Flynn continued. “Because if he’s getting something … that those that are around him want him to hear, versus what he needs to hear, then he’s going to make poor decisions.”

It’s time to re-boot Washington with people who want to fight terrorism and are willing to admit that it is a problem.

Making a Difference–One Life At A Time

This is the story of a woman who is making a difference:

A Women’s Touch, Ending Slavery

Slavery? Does it still exist? Are you asking yourself that question? My personal experience will answer with a resounding, YES! Human trafficking, modern day slavery, is a great evil that is alive with an estimated 32 million people being enslaved around the world. It has been called the crisis of our time, as the vulnerabilities of innocent women and children are being exploited. What can a woman do to combat such vile atrocities against our own?

Open Our Eyes

In the winter of 2011 my dear friend, Jen, had just returned from a Joyce Meyer conference. She just could not get over what she heard and so she shared with me her heart concerns. Over 800,000 people are transported through Greece every year to be sold as slaves. Greece truly tugged at my heart, I had traveled there many times to see family (my husband’s family is still on the island of Chios) and partner in missions to refugees. My quick response to Jen’s concern was for us to GO do something about it! This minivan driving mom with three kids and an adored husband, was on a mission! My eyes were being opened and little did I know there was no turning around……

BREAK OUR HEARTS

The adventure began immediately, as a dynamic team of 8 women came together from North and South Carolina to began a journey of a lifetime. We started with a strategy, PRAYER! We mapped out streets and began a commitment to prayer walk with focused intention, to transform our hearts and minds into a deeper love for all those we will meet, to set captives free and let’s be honest, to be PROTECTED! Our passionate and fearless perspective was rooted in our calling and in the mighty God we serve. We were ready to encounter the evil and to bring light and hope for the trafficked women in the brothels of Athens.

The streets were dark, drug infested and it was in one of those dingy, crowded brothels that I met face to face barely clothed women, some even mothers, dazed, distraught, and feeling helpless. I gave out hot coffee, prayed with them and offered them a chance for freedom. It was also in those same brothels that I encountered the power of answered prayer as miracles unfolded before my eyes; culminating with the ultimate freedom of one of one beautiful 16-year-old girl we ministered too, Maria.

BEING CALLED

Freedom began running through my veins and the power of Christ’s loving guidance was setting captives free!

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” — Harriet Tubman

I dreamed and founded True Justice International (TJI) which became a 501(c)(3) in 2012. Our mission is to execute True Justice on a local, state, national and global scale. We work diligently raising awareness in communities and churches, promoting prevention programs in schools, along with offering free counseling and mentoring services to those who have been exploited. From our work this past over 20 people were placed in safety from trafficking situations, 300 people removed from situations of exploitation and five thousand youth and young adults were educated. TJI also has a safe house in Honduras where we care for 11 little girls, all recovering from sex trafficking. These girls now have hope and a new life.

Our goal over the next several months is to open a safe house in the eastern part of the United States to serve US citizens and internationals trafficked into the US. There is an urgent need!

William Willberforce, a great English abolitionist and statesman who carried the mantel to eradicate the African slave trade, outlined three things that people can do to end slavery.

1. Prayer

2. Awareness

3. Giving

Rewriting History For A Political Purpose

I thought only Russian dictators rewrote history, but now American journalists seem to be doing it. There has been quite a kerfuffle about Donald Trump‘s remarks about Arabs celebrating 9/11. The news media is claiming that he is lying, but he keeps on coming up with their own stories that detail the celebrations. It wasn’t hundreds of thousands, but it was thousands.

The Conservative Treehouse posted a story yesterday giving a few examples of what is happening to the news media in America. They are becoming campaign workers–not news reporters. I need to say here that I am not voting for Donald Trump in the Republican primary. However, if he is the candidate, I would vote for him before I would vote for Hillary Clinton. But that is not the point.

The article at The Conservative Treehouse is reporting that The New York Post has removed articles about the Arab celebrations of 9/11 from its website. Donald Trump exaggerated, but told the truth. The New York Post and other media have attempted to alter the truth.

The story at The Conservative Treehouse includes the following:

[…]  The PC concern is that the Israelis will somehow “take advantage” of the attacks and therefore that negative stories about Palestinians are to be handled as gingerly as stories about American Arabs and Muslims.

That’s why you probably don’t know about the Palestinian Authority’s death threat against a videographer who took footage of a 4,000-person celebration on Sept. 11 – which led to the seizure of the news footage and its erasure. The fact that bin Laden’s allies on the West Bank targeted a news photographer for death for filming Palestinians dancing at the news of the death of 7,000 Americans didn’t make it anywhere near the front pages.

The news media usually make a stink when the media are threatened. Not this time.  (link)

Caught Again

There have been a number of incidents in which the media has altered transcripts or tapes to give an impression that is not accurate. The latest example comes from an article in The Hill. PJ Media reported the story today.

The story deals with comments by presidential candidate Ted Cruz made about the recent shooting at a Planned Parenthood center in Colorado.

The article in The Hill included the following (which actually contradicts the headline):

“I think there’s been some vicious rhetoric on the left blaming those who are pro-life,” Cruz said according to audio from The Texas Tribune.

“It’s also been reported that he was registered as an independent and a woman and a transgendered leftist activist. If that’s what he is, I don’t think it’s fair to blame the rhetoric on the left. This is a murderer,” Cruz continued.

The headline of the article in The Hill stated, “Cruz suggests Colorado shooter is a ‘transgendered leftist.’

That’s not exactly what he said. News readers, beware.
