Actually, The Tax Payers Are The Ones Who Paid For This

Om Saturday, CNBC posted an article about the Silicon Valley Bank.

The article reports:

  • Silicon Valley Bank employees received their annual bonuses Friday just hours before regulators seized the failing bank, according to people with knowledge of the payments.
  • The payments were for work done in 2022 and had been in process days before the bank’s collapse, these people said.
  • On Friday, SVB CEO Greg Becker addressed workers in a two-minute video in which he said that he no longer made decisions at the 40-year-old bank, according to the sources.

Who made the decision?

The article continues:

On Friday, SVB CEO Greg Becker addressed workers in a two-minute video in which he said that he no longer made decisions at the 40-year-old bank, according to the people.

The size of the payouts couldn’t be determined, but SVB bonuses range from about $12,000 for associates to $140,000 for managing directors, according to Glassdoor.com.

SVB was the highest-paying publicly traded bank in 2018, with employees getting an average of $250,683 for that year, according to Bloomberg.

After its seizure, the FDIC offered SVB employees 45 days of employment, the people said. The bank had 8,528 employees as of December.

A spokesman for the FDIC declined to comment on the bonuses.

There are two sides to this discussion–the employees did earn their bonuses in the prior year and it was customary to pay them at this time, but essentially the taxpayers all over the country were responsible for paying those bonuses. Those are pretty generous bonuses for a business that failed.

On Monday, The New York Post noted that despite what we are being told, the taxpayers will be bailing out the Silicon Valley Bank.

The New York Post reports:

The cost of bailing out two banks that catered to the tech industry will likely be paid by average Americans in the former of more fees, less service and potentially higher taxes — despite President Biden’s pledge otherwise, experts warned Monday.

The dire predictions came as the price of regional bank stocks fell due to fears of further collapses, with trading in more than a dozen of them paused during a massive market sell-off.

The extraordinary rescue announced Sunday night will use the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s Deposit Insurance Fund to make whole all customers of the Silicon Valley Bank and Manhattan’s Signature Bank, which did business with tech startups and the cryptocurrency industry, respectively.

But the fund gets its money in quarterly payments from FDIC-insured banks, which will likely make customers shoulder the burden of any added costs, said William Luther, director of the American Institute for Economic Research’s Sound Money Project.

Hold on to your wallet–President Biden is in the White House.

Hiding The Evidence The Defendants Needed

On Wednesday, The New York Post posted an article about the unconstitutional treatment of the January 6th prisoners.

The article notes:

For more than two years, the surveillance footage from the 2021 Capitol riot, aired this week by Tucker Carlson, was kept from the American public by a Democratic Congress so a false narrative became cemented in the public consciousness.

For more than two years, footage that could have exonerated Jan. 6 defendants was kept from their legal teams.

People are in prison because of that cover-up.

Take the footage aired by Carlson Monday night of so-called “QAnon Shaman” Jacob Chansley being escorted around the Capitol by police officers who help him open the door and enter the empty Senate chamber.

It is hard to reconcile these calm and even cordial scenes with the nearly four-year prison sentence Chansley now is serving for “obstructing an official proceeding.”

Contrary to what apologists have been saying since Carlson began airing the footage, all this material has not previously been made available to the J6 defendants, some of whom have been jailed without trial for two years, in violation of their constitutional right to a fair and speedy trial.

Jacob Chanley’s lawyer has publicly stated that this footage was not made available either to him or to the judge.

Please follow the link above to read the entire article. It’s time to release the January 6th prisoners and put those who perpetrated the lie in jail.

The article concludes:

The Capitol riot was a gift to Democrats and Trump-deranged Republicans. They didn’t care about the perversion of justice or the human toll of their political game.

If this were happening in an authoritarian overseas country, the State Department would rightly decry the injustice.

The shabby treatment of the J6 defendants is a stain on this country’s reputation that has not gone unnoticed around the world.

Destroying Our Children On Social Media

Most children over the age of twelve have access to TikTok. I wonder how many of their parents are actually paying attention to what is on that site.

On Tuesday, The New York Post posted an article written by a woman  in her 30’s who posed as a 14-year-old boy on TikTok to see what would show up for her to view. The results were frightening.

The article reports:

My aim wasn’t to use Jayden’s profile to interact with other people online but rather just to see what sort of content the algorithm fed him if he was completely passive.

Within seconds of opening TikTok and YouTube as him, I was bombarded with a dizzying stream of videos of girls lip-syncing and twerking in mini-shorts.

After about a minute, things took a darker turn.

Mega influencers like stuntman-turned-boxer Logan Paul, 27, started popping up.

Paul stars in videos alongside the Sidemen, a popular British YouTube group known for offensive content — one member faced a backlash for his “rape face” video series in 2015.

In their “Sidemen Tinder in Real Life” YouTube series, the men often talk graphically to the women who are invited to their studio to make a potential love connection.

But instead of finding Mr. Right, the girls are often pummeled with insults about their physical appearance.

The most disturbing video I came across on TikTok, however, featured slow-motion footage of a boy, likely around Jayden’s age, in a classroom standing over a girl and swinging his closed fist toward her face as she recoiled.

Jayden was fed another TikTok video stamped with title “Calling my girlfriend the ‘B’ word for her reaction” featuring a young guy repeatedly barking the epithet at his significant other in the hopes of infuriating her for laughs.

Obviously this is not entertainment.

It is interesting to know that in China, the youth version of TikTok offers educational content including “novel and interesting popular science experiments, exhibitions in museums and galleries, beautiful scenery across the country, explanations of historical knowledge, and so on,” according to ByteDance. (article here) China also limits the amount of time its children spend on social media. What is the end goal of those who are feeding garbage to America’s children?

What An Incredible Coincidence!

On Thursday, The New York Post reported that two Russian businessmen who spent time with Hunter and Joe Biden have somehow avoided the sanctions the U.S. placed on Russia because of the invasion of Ukraine.

The article reports:

Two Russian billionaires who have managed to dodge US sanctions over Moscow’s year-old invasion of Ukraine went property shopping with Hunter Biden, dined with then-Vice President Joe Biden, and discussed “favors” they might swap, sources tell The Post.

New details of Joe and Hunter Biden’s association with Yelena Baturina and Vladimir Yevtushenkov flesh out tantalizing clues from the first son’s abandoned laptop. The sources spoke with The Post this week after the duo was yet again spared a fresh batch of sanctions announced by the Treasury Department Friday.

“I think it’s very fishy,” said one source who had firsthand knowledge of the business relationship between Hunter Biden and Yevtushenkov — who is sanctioned by the UK and Australia but not by the US.

“I think he should be sanctioned,” Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Russia under President Barack Obama, told The Post of Yevtushenkov — estimated by Forbes to be worth $1.7 billion. “I don’t understand why he has not been.”

The article also notes:

A Post reporter asked President Biden Wednesday on the White House lawn for an explanation of the non-sanctioning of his son’s Russian oligarch associates, but Biden didn’t reply and it’s unclear if he heard the question as he walked to his Marine One helicopter.

Biden allies previously sought to downplay his association with Baturina and the $3.5 million. An anonymous source told the Washington Post last year that Archer was supposed to dissolve the corporate entity that received the funds, but secretly kept it in existence for his own use.

However, emails from Hunter’s laptop show he was actively engaged in courting Baturina. About a month after the transfer, Archer wrote to Hunter to say he was “[w]ith Yelena” and an April 26, 2014, email from Hunter to Archer said “we should ask Yelena to fund a short-term development team to scope projects” after an attempted real estate deal in Manhattan fell through.

The Biden campaign in 2020 vaguely denied that the April 2015 Cafe Milano meetup even occurred, saying, “[W]e have reviewed Joe Biden’s official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place.” After Biden won the presidency, WFP USA’s former president Rick Leach told the Washington Post that Joe Biden did attend –but only briefly to meet with Greek Orthodox leader Alex Karloutsos.

Joe Biden’s interaction with his son’s post-Soviet associates at the meal is a pillar of Republican arguments that Biden misused his official roles to financially benefit his family.

Please follow the link to the article for further details. It does seem as if we have a pay-for-play scheme operating out of the White House.

Forced To Face The Music

On Wednesday, The New York Post posted an article about the appearance of Attorney General Merrick Garland before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. A number of Republican Senators used the appearance to point out how unevenly Merrick Garland’s Justice Department is enforcing various laws.

The article reports:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) excoriated the attorney general’s extraordinary inaction over the past 10 months as pro-abortion protesters have harassed Supreme Court justices at their homes in the wake of the leaked Dobbs decision, despite a federal law that bans “picketing or parading” near a judge’s residence.

“When rioters descended on the homes of six Supreme Court justices, night after night after night, you did nothing,” raged Cruz.

“The department did nothing when extremist groups, like Ruth Sent Us and Jane’s Revenge, openly organized campaigns of harassment at the homes of justices …

“When the same groups posted online information about where the justices worship, or their home addresses, or where their kids went to school, you again sat on your hands and did nothing.

Next Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) pointed out the following:

Next, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) grilled Garland about the disparate treatment of Christian pro-life activists arrested outside abortion clinics compared to pro-abortion activists who have gone unpunished after firebombing pregnancy centers.

He cited the case of Mark Houck, the Catholic father of seven acquitted in January of federal assault charges over an altercation outside a Philadelphia abortion clinic.

Houck was arrested at gunpoint in front of his terrified family in an FBI raid.

“This is a case where a Catholic pro-life demonstrator, a father, was accused of disorderly conduct in front of an abortion center,” Hawley said.

“The Philadelphia DA, who is a Democrat, very progressive, declined to prosecute. There was a private suit that got dismissed. Then after all that, your Justice Department sent between 20 and 30 agents in the early-morning hours to the Houck residence to arrest this guy after he had offered to turn himself in voluntarily.”

Garland said the FBI “disagreed” with that description of the raid.

So Hawley got out an easel and displayed a blown-up photo of fearsome-looking FBI agents with long guns, ballistic shields and bulletproof vests.

There is no excuse for this sort of behavior by the Justice Department. If we do not elect people who will uphold the law and who will appoint people who will uphold the law, we will descend into tyranny.

There Seems To Be A Lack Of Transparency

On Sunday, Jonathan Turley posted an article at The New York Post with the following headline:

Forget classified docs, show us the real haul of Biden’s records in Delaware

What an interesting idea.

The article reports:

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has repeatedly assured the public that President Biden is committed in the classified document scandal to move forward in “a very transparent way.” Putting aside the refusal to share any information beyond a desire to be fully transparent, Biden has one major test awaiting him on his pledge: his senatorial records.

There has been much discussion of a classified document being found in his personal library in Wilmington, but there is a huge library of Biden documents sitting in the University of Delaware. The university is sitting on Biden documents due to a cynical 2012 arrangement made by Biden when he was vice president and contemplating a run for the presidency.

The president effectively locked away his records by giving them to the university, which has claimed for a decade that it is still working to organize and catalog the documents. He has refused to allow the public or the press to see the documents. With the recent reports that Biden may have included classified information in notebooks found at his residence, the status of the University of Delaware documents is becoming more and more untenable for the White House.

The article concludes:

Biden has yet to come up with a plausible reason why he is using the University of Delaware to prevent review of the documents. Indeed, the University of Delaware continues to expend public funds by making technical arguments against access while ignoring questions about the use of an academic institution to shield potentially embarrassing records.

Of course, the FBI does not need permission. It has ample reason to demand access in light of the president’s serial violations. Indeed, past discoveries form a perfect overlaid map of where the president has lived or worked in the past decade. Yet although there is new interest in searching his other residence, there has been little discussion of the largest trove of documents sitting in the bowels of the University of Delaware.

Presumably, this is one question that Jean-Pierre could actually answer. If the president is truly striving to be “very transparent,” he should be able to tell the University of Delaware that his records should be open to outside review. Otherwise, Biden’s pledge is nothing but transparently dishonest.

Please follow the link to read the entire article. It’s time the documents at the University of Delaware were released.

It’s Called ‘Projection’

According to Psychology Today:

Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person.

There seems to be a lot of that going on right now in American politics.

On Monday, The New York Post reported:

The former FBI official busted Monday for allegedly taking illegal foreign payments played a key role in the bureau’s controversial  “Russiagate” probe of former President Donald Trump — and a “defensive briefing” of ex-rival Hillary Clinton’s lawyers.

Charles “Charlie” McGonigal, 54, was among the first FBI officials to learn that Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos told an Australian diplomat that Russia had “political dirt” on Clinton.

FBI Deputy Assistant Director Jonathan Moffa told Senate Judiciary Committee staffers in 2020 that he got a July 2016 email from McGonigal which “contained essentially that reporting, which then served as the basis for the opening of the case.”

The FBI investigation, dubbed “Crossfire Hurricane,” led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller and a 22-month, $32 million probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and potential ties to associates of Trump, now 76.

Shortly before Mueller was appointed, McGonigal also sent a message to an FBI colleague that discussed how agents were interviewing another Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page.

Please follow the link to read the entire article.

The actions of  Charles McGonigal were part of the deep state’s war on President Trump. All of the people involved in that war need to go to jail. Regardless of who is President, working against him is treason. Framing people in his campaign, cabinet, etc. is treason. Making phone calls to enemies of America without Presidential approval is treason. People who lied to Congress to make a case for impeachment should also be held accountable.

The deep state’s actions during the Trump administration were a disgrace to America. Any honest people who may be left in Washington need to remove those in the deep state and make sure they never again have power.

There Really Were Visitor Records

On Friday, NewsMax reported that there actually were records on who visited President Biden at his Delaware home.

The article reports:

The Secret Service now acknowledges that it has records on who visited President Joe Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware, when classified documents were kept there.

The New York Post reported that Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Thursday that “the Secret Service does generate law enforcement and criminal justice information records for various individuals who may come into contact with Secret Service protected sites.”

Guglielmi on Monday said the Secret Service doesn’t “independently maintain our own visitor logs because it’s a private residence.”

The article notes:

Congressional Republicans asked for the logs after learning that confidential documents were found at Biden’s home.

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the Oversight and Accountability Committee, demanded Sunday that the White House turn over visitor logs, according to The New York Times.

“It is troubling that classified documents have been improperly stored at the home of President Biden for at least six years, raising questions about who may have reviewed or had access to classified information,” Comer wrote.

It stands to reason that anyone coming close to the President would have to be cleared by the Secret Service. It also stands to reason that there would be a record of that clearance in case the person made a repeat visit. There may not be explicit logs, but there will be a list of people who visited the President in Delaware. That list needs to be made public.

Politics Over Truth

On Monday, The New York Post posted an article about a recent statement by one of the 51 ex-intelligence officials who signed a letter claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. It is not unrealistic to think that the letter they signed had a significant impact on the 2020 election.

The article reports:

A former top intelligence official who signed on to a letter attacking The Post’s bombshell 2020 reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop as Russian disinformation has now admitted he knew a “significant portion” of the recovered files “had to be real” – but doesn’t regret dismissing the exposé.

Douglas Wise, a former Defense Intelligence Agency deputy director, was one of 51 erstwhile intelligence brass who issued the public letter on Oct. 19, 2020 — five days after The Post began a series of reports on the now-first son’s shady overseas business dealings.

“All of us figured that a significant portion of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible,” said Wise — who didn’t respond when The Post reached out for an explanation in March of last year, but found his tongue when he spoke to The Australian.

The article concludes:

Wise spoke out a week after the new Republican-controlled House of Representatives established the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is expected to investigate the ordeal as part of its mission to look into inappropriate links between intelligence agencies and social media platforms in the wake of revelations that the FBI pressured Twitter to censor the Hunter Biden story.

It also came after the House Oversight Committee last week launched an investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings – an initiative partly inspired by the Post’s report.

Now that the truth is out and real investigations are beginning, so of these liars are beginning to tell the truth.

An Indication Of Things To Come?

On Wednesday, The New York Post reported that the price of apartments in Manhattan is dropping.

The article reports:

Manhattan apartment prices fell 5.5% year-over-year in the fourth quarter of last year — the first time that residential real estate values in the borough dropped since the second quarter of 2020.

In the last quarter of 2022, co-ops and condominium apartments in Manhattan were sold for a median price of $1.1 million, according to a report by appraiser Miller Samuel Inc. and brokerage firm Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Even though sales and prices were still higher compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, there was a sharp drop in listing inventory, according to the appraisal.

The median price of condos and co-ops sold during the fourth quarter of 2019 was $999,000.

The combination of higher interest rates and high prices have led to lower demand, the analysts wrote in their report.

The article notes:

Of all transactions in the fourth quarter of last year, 55% were all-cash deals — the highest proportion since Miller Samuel and Douglas Elliman started tracking these trends.

Analysts do not believe that the fourth quarter is the start of a severe drop in home prices.

The $1.1 million median sales price in the fourth quarter represents the seventh consecutive quarter above that threshold.

Although I suspect that the general slowing of the economy plays an important role in the drop in home prices, I also wonder if public safety concerns about living in New York City are part of the problem.

On November 3, The New York City Police Department released their crime statistics for October 2022:

On enforcement, NYPD officers in October 2022 made 4,367 arrests for complaints of major felony crimes, a 16.5% increase over the 3,749 arrests for major felonies in the same month last year. Arrests for major felonies are up 25.8% (39,742 v. 31,582) so far in calendar 2022, compared with the first 10 months of 2021.

Overall index crime in New York City increased in October 2022, by 5.9% compared with October 2021 (10,930 v. 10,324) driven largely by a 19.3% increase in grand larceny auto (1,244 v. 1,043), a 9.6% increase in grand larceny (4,564 v. 4,163), and a 8.9% increase (1,388 v. 1,274) in burglary.

Those numbers show a significant increase in crime. I have to believe that would have some impact on the housing market in the City.

The Other Side Of The Story

On Wednesday, The New York Post posted an article about some aspects of the January 6th Capitol riot that the January 6th Committee somehow left out. One of the questions asked by anyone who had followed the events of the previous summer and the political contention that was building was, “Why wasn’t extra security called in?” This article seeks to answer that question.

The article reports:

House Republicans issued a scathing report Wednesday exposing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s key role in the catastrophic security and intelligence failures that left the US Capitol vulnerable to a violent attack on January 6, 2021.

Days after Pelosi’s Jan. 6 select committee recommended insurrection charges against former president Donald Trump over the Capitol riot, Republicans have hit back with a counter-investigation apportioning blame for the internal security breakdown on Jan. 6 to Pelosi and a dysfunctional Capitol Police intelligence division.

“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021,” says the report, which is based on a trove of texts and email messages, and testimony from Capitol Police leaders and rank-and-file officers.

House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, who answered to Pelosi as one of three voting members of the Capitol Police Board, “succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership,” was “compromised by politics and did not adequately prepare for violence at the Capitol.”

Pelosi and her staff “coordinated closely” with Irving on security plans for the Joint Session of Congress on Jan. 6, but Republicans were deliberately left out of “important discussions related to security.”

None of that should be a surprise to anyone.

The article also notes:

The Republicans responsible for the withering report — Jim Banks (R-IN), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) and Troy Nehls (R-TX) — are the five congressmen originally nominated to sit on the Jan. 6 committee, until Pelosi vetoed Banks and Jordan. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy pulled the rest of his nominees in protest. Pelosi then installed two Never Trump Republican outcasts, Liz Cheney, and Adam Kinzinger.

Given Pelosi’s assiduous grooming of Cheney, no doubt it suited both their interests to focus the final Jan.6 committee report on Trump — and not on Pelosi’s culpability.

But now the Republicans Pelosi rejected have skewered her in their rival report, dredging up some of what she tried to hide, despite complaining of obstruction from the personnel she controls.

The report insinuates that the Speaker left the Capitol Police without backup on Jan. 6 because “widespread concern from Democratic leadership over ‘optics’ in the aftermath of the Summer 2020 ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests prevented early deployment of the National Guard.”

Please follow the link above to read the entire article. It is a part of the story that you are not likely to hear from the mainstream media.

Going On Offense

On Sunday, Jonathan Turley posted an article at The New York Post indicating how the political left is preparing for the Congressional investigation of Hunter Biden’s laptop that will surely occur after the new House of Representatives is sworn in. We need to remember that the political left is good at preemptive strikes.

The article reports:

Just when you thought our politics could not get more poisonous, a recent meeting in California suggests the past is mere prelude. The Washington Post, which revealed the powwow, described it as Biden family “allies” planning an offensive to blunt any investigation into the Bidens’ alleged multimillion-dollar influence-peddling schemes.

Republicans will see it more like the gathering of the Legion of (Democratic) Doom. Some of the most controversial political operatives are involved in the all-hands-on-deck effort to protect the Bidens.

The California meeting’s host was none other than Hunter Biden’s friend, agent and lawyer Kevin Morris. After Hunter was placed under investigation for, among other possible charges, tax evasion, Morris reportedly paid off as much as $2.8 million in back taxes for Hunter.

Morris, per the Washington Post, called for a “more aggressive” response to those seeking to investigate the alleged influence peddling. That plan includes hitting critics, such as Fox News, with possible defamation lawsuits. (For full disclosure, I appear as a legal analyst on Fox News.)

The paper also reported Morris “outlined extensive research on two potential witnesses against Hunter Biden — a spurned business partner named Tony Bobulinski and a computer repairman named John Paul Mac Isaac.” “Spurned” is hardly the sole or most relevant description of Bobulinski: The businessman was recruited by the Biden family to manage foreign deals and later directly contradicted President Biden’s claims that he knew nothing of those dealings. His testimony could present a serious threat in the coming House investigation in establishing not only the president’s knowledge but his possible receipt of proceeds from the deals.

Please follow the link to read the entire article.

This move goes right along with Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Rule number 9 states, “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself. ” and Rule number 13 states, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. ” I suspect we will see many examples of those two rules after the new House is sworn in.

Bias Is What You Report As Well As How You Report It

On Sunday, The New York Post posted an article about the mainstream media’s reporting of the Twitter files that Elon Musk has been releasing. The mainstream media has pretty much chosen to ignore the story totally. When they actually report it, their reporting is not accurate.

The article reports:

Whatever happened to “All the news that’s fit to print,” and “Democracy dies in darkness,” the respective mottos of the two most influential newspapers in the country, the New York Times and the Washington Post?

Every morning, these august organs set the narrative for newsrooms across the country, and yet, time and again, we see them ignore stories that don’t suit their own agenda as propaganda purveyors for the Democratic Party and the security state.

This has been obvious in their non-coverage of Elon Musk’s Twitter Files, four batches over 10 days so far, which have revealed a chilling censorship regime at the social media giant, which no doubt is replicated across Big Tech, including at Facebook and Google.

We see evidence of what we long suspected, despite Twitter former CEO Jack Dorsey’s lies to Congress: Conservatives and medical professionals were silenced, as part of a crackdown on effective dissent against the government. From The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop stories and criticism of the Biden administration’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s bogus edicts on masks, lockdowns and the origins of COVID, censorship has been the order of the day. That should be a story of interest to journalists at the Times and WaPo.

The article cites a few examples of how the information has been treated:

Over at the Washington Post, resident disinformation expert Taylor Lorenz went on TV to falsely claim that Elon Musk had laid off the staff who monitored child sexual exploitation material. The opposite is the case. On taking over Twitter, Musk declared his “priority #1” was to remove such material and, in two weeks, did more to cleanse Twitter of child abuse content than previous management had done in a decade.

The WaPo also reported that Musk was being investigated by San Francisco authorities for creating makeshift bedrooms at Twitter HQ for employees to sleep in, which he denied.
It was the same ignore-and-smear game across the leftie media-sphere.

“Old news” was how The Atlantic dismissed the Twitter Files.

Please follow the link to read the entire article. It is discouraging to know that the people who depend on the mainstream media for their news are either uninformed or misinformed. Since China owns large portions of American media, profit is no longer a motive–loss of viewers or readers is not an issue, so the mainstream media is no longer subject to the rules of the marketplace. That is not a good thing.

The Story Behind The Story

On Friday, The New York Post reported that United Furniture Industries had fired all of its 2,700 employees while they were sleeping, telling them in texts and emails not to come to work the next day, according to reports. So what happened?

The RADlaw Newsletter explains:

Last Monday United Furniture Industries (UFI) fired their entire manufacturing workforce with no severance in preparation for what can only be a complete liquidation of the company’s manufacturing assets.

In 2019, when we had a President who did not hate our country, UFI announced that they were increasing their manufacturing staff by about 20%. The crushing regulations and inflation caused by the Harris-Biden Administration, however, have caused them to stop all manufacturing in the USA.

They plan to still sell furniture but it will be made in China, delivered directly from the Chinese manufacturers.

Elections have consequences.

The article at The New York Post continues:

The mass firing on Tuesday by United Furniture Industries, which makes budget-friendly sofas and recliners for Simmons Upholstery, left thousands of employees including truck drivers and factory workers in North Carolina, Mississippi and California unemployed just two days before Thanksgiving.

“At the instruction of the board of directors … we regret to inform you that due to unforeseen business circumstances, the company has been forced to make the difficult decision to terminate the employment of all its employees, effective immediately, on Nov. 21,” the company said in messages to employees.

“With the exception of over-the-road drivers that are out on delivery. Your layoff from the company is expected to be permanent and all benefits will be terminated immediately without provision of COBRA.”

The privately held, Okolona, Miss.-based company could not be reached for comment.

I can thoroughly relate to the employees of this company. In the early 1990’s I worked for a small satellite office of a paper company in Massachusetts. I went home one Thursday night with no concerns and came in Friday morning to find out that the company did not like the over regulation of Massachusetts and was closing the office and going back to Pennsylvania. There was no severance pay. I really don’t think that is the way to do business, but unfortunately it is not unusual.

A Decision That Upholds The Constitution

On Friday, The Washington Free Beacon posted an article about President Biden’s student loan forgiveness program. The program represents the federal government interfering in a signed contract–similar to the government’s interference in contracts between renters and landlords during the Covid pandemic.

The article reports:

The United States government has stopped taking applications for student debt relief, after a federal judge blocked President Joe Biden’s loan forgiveness plan, according to a notice on a government website.

A judge in Texas who was appointed by former President Donald Trump ruled on Thursday that Biden’s plan to cancel hundreds of billions of dollars in student loan debt was unlawful and must be vacated. The Biden administration is appealing the ruling.

In July 2021, The New York Post reported the following:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disputed the notion that President Biden has the authority to unilaterally cancel students’ federal loans.

“People think that the president of the United States has the power for debt forgiveness,” Pelosi said during her weekly news conference on Wednesday.

“He does not. He can postpone, he can delay, but he does not have that power. That has to be an act of Congress.”

However, the President signed an Executive Order providing student loan forgiveness, and applications have poured in.

The student loan forgiveness program, even if it does not move forward, has served its purpose.

On Wednesday, Breitbart reported the following:

Voters between the ages of 18 and 29 cast their ballots in favor of Democrats 63 percent of the time in the 2022 elections, exit polling data found.

Data from NBC exit polls found that the demographic, comprised of Generation Z and the Millennials, voted 63 percent for Democrats and just 35 percent for the Republicans.

Generation Z and the Millennials were promised free stuff and do not have the education or the critical thinking skills to understand that free stuff isn’t free. The government has no source of revenue other than printing money or taxing Americans. I suspect we will see more promises of free stuff for this group in the future as this group traditionally does not come out and vote at election time. This time Generation Z and Millennials made the difference.

Selective Memory On Display

Yesterday The Daily Caller posted an article about political violence in America. Townhall also posted an article yesterday that included President Biden’s comments on political violence in America.

Townhall reported on President Biden’s speech:

During his remarks, which were made without glaring communist red lights and U.S. Marines standing the background, Biden made a number of references to January 6 and the nudist attack on Paul Pelosi. He then oddly attempted to portray himself and Democrats as unifiers interested in getting along with their political opponents.

Biden then falsely accused Republicans of oppressing voters. Currently in Georgia, voter turnout has hit records rivaling presidential election levels after Republicans passed voter integrity laws in the state last year.

That doesn’t sound like someone who is seeking unity.

The Daily Caller reported:

The media appears to have rediscovered political violence the morning of October 28 when news broke that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul was attacked by a hammer-wielding mad man in their California home.

The Daily Caller provides a list of attacks on Republicans that the media has conveniently ignored or forgotten:

Fire-bombings at Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Lee Zeldin Attacked

2020 Summer of Riots

Violent Would-Be Attack on Brett Kavanaugh

Congressional Baseball Game Shooting

I would like to add two more. On October 27th, The New York Post reported that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has experienced sixth “swatting” episodes since August. Yesterday Breitbart reported that Republican Gen. Don Bolduc was physically attacked by an unknown individual before the Wednesday debate with Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan.

If the President keeps telling Americans that Americans who support President Trump are a threat to our democracy (we are not a democracy–we are a representative republic), what does he expect?

How To Lie With Statistics

On Friday, The New York Post posted an article about President Biden’s claim that he has lowered the deficit. When you examine the actual facts, the claim is false and based on a very misleading analysis of the financial data.

The article reports:

How should a president respond to running a $1.4 trillion budget deficit — 40% higher than before the pandemic — and adding trillions more to 10-year deficits?

If you are President Biden, you take a victory lap touting your “historic deficit reduction.”

In a remarkable feat of gaslighting, the president held a press conference Friday bragging about directing the “largest one-year [deficit] drop in American history.” But Biden did nothing to reduce the deficit. In fact, his policies have added a deluge of red ink.

Between 2017 and 2019, the budget deficit averaged $810 billion annually. The pandemic then put millions of people out of work and brought trillions of dollars in temporary federal benefits, pushing deficits past $3 trillion in 2020 and $2 trillion in 2021. As the pandemic receded, however, the expiration of this temporary spending was scheduled to return deficits to the pre-pandemic levels of $900 billion to $1 trillion for the next six years. Instead, Biden’s spending pushed up the 2022 deficit to $1.4 trillion — $400 billion higher than the baseline and far above pre-pandemic levels. And this was despite shattering peacetime records for tax revenues.

This is the political equivalent of the wife that comes home from a shopping trip and tells him that she saved hundreds of dollars. Well, according to the sales prices, she did save hundreds of dollars, but how much did she spend?

The article concludes:

And while Biden and Democrats brag about reducing annual deficits from Trump’s levels, they rarely mention that half of his legislative costs arose from emergency pandemic bills that were drafted and passed by congressional Democrats. It is disingenuous for Democrats to take credit for massive pandemic aid and later dismiss those costs as “Republican deficits” while also treating those costs’ scheduled expiration as courageous deficit reduction while engaging in their own spending spree.

Then again, the same White House refused to acknowledge any role in gas prices surging an extra $2.33 per gallon but demands credit when prices dip $1 from that peak.

A good statistician can make the numbers show anything he wants them to. Evidently there is a good statistician somewhere on President Biden’s staff.

Revealing The Problems In America’s Justice System

On Tuesday, The New York Post posted an article about the verdict in the trial of Igor Danchenko.

The article reports:

A key source for the salacious and discredited Trump-Russia dossier was acquitted by a federal jury Tuesday, in a case that nevertheless produced several bombshells about the FBI’s handling of its probe into the 45th president’s 2016 campaign.

The Virginia panel cleared Igor Danchenko of four counts of lying to the bureau following approximately 10 hours of deliberation across two days after the case judge dropped a fifth count against him last week.

The verdict was the second acquittal at trial in a case brought by special counsel John Durham in connection with the conduct of the FBI counterintelligence probe nicknamed “Crossfire Hurricane.”

Despite Danchenko’s acquittal, the trial produced a series of revelations about the FBI — including testimony from a bureau analyst that it had offered Christopher Steele, the former MI6 spy who compiled the dossier, $1 million in October 2016 to make its outrageous claims against Trump stick.

Court documents filed by Durham last month also indicated the FBI employed Danchenko as a paid confidential source for more than three-and-a-half years — hiring him even as he was being investigated for his role in compiling the dossier.

If he was the source for dossier and the dossier was discredited, how is he not guilty of lying?

The article notes:

The trial also revealed that Helson and other agents did no due diligence on Danchenko’s background when a simple check would have revealed suspicions of his role in Steele’s project.

“Don’t feel bad for the FBI agents,” Durham told the jury on Monday during closing arguments. “There are things that they didn’t do that they quite clearly should have done.”

Trump White House veterans lamented the verdict, with former White House press secretary Sean Spicer calling it “unbelievably disappointing.”

“We’ve been waiting and waiting and told to hold our breath, there’s more coming — just be patient, be patient,” Spicer said on his Newsmax show “Spicer & Co.” “This is — I don’t even think disappointing does justice to how bad this is.”

Ric Grenell, the former acting director of national intelligence, argued in a tweet that the verdict doesn’t exonerate the government officials who pushed falsehoods about alleged Trump-Russia collusion.

“Danchenko and the FBI both lied in and about the Steele dossier,” Grenell wrote. “They made outlandish claims that never materialized. A jury saying that Danchenko didn’t lie doesn’t clear up how the lies were pushed by our government.”

The article explains the charge and the acquittal:

The case against Danchenko turned on a phone call he claimed to receive from someone he believed was Sergei Millian, a Belarusian-American businessman, who was purportedly in touch with people connected to Trump and told Danchenko about a false conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Prosecutors said phone records showed no evidence of a call between Danchenko and Millian and that Danchenko had no reason to believe Millian, a Trump supporter he’d never met, was suddenly going to be willing to provide disparaging information about Trump to a stranger.

Is there anyone honest in Washington?

The Conservative Treehouse posted an article explaining why the Durham investigation is not going to find anyone guilty of anything–the investigation is simply there to cover for the previous misdeeds of the deep state.

A Convenient WhiteWash

On Thursday, The New York Post reported that federal agents believe that they have enough evidence against Hunter Biden to charge him on tax crimes and lying on a firearms application. Notice that there is nothing here about peddling influence or anything that might leak over to the misdeeds by the Biden family. Charging Hunter Biden on these crimes is a way to make it look as if something was done without actually doing anything.

The article reports:

Federal agents investigating Hunter Biden believe they have for months had enough evidence to charge the first son with tax crimes — as well as for lying about his drug abuse so he could buy a gun, a new report revealed Thursday.

The final decision on whether to bring a case against the 52-year-old son of President Biden will be made by Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, who was appointed to his current post by former President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post, citing people familiar with the investigation, reported that agents had determined months ago that they had assembled a viable criminal case against Hunter Biden.

The newspaper reported that the investigation, which started by focusing on Hunter’s overseas business dealings revealed in a series of reports by The Post in the fall of 2020, has shifted to whether he reported all his income from foreign transactions.

Delaware US Attorney David Weis will make the final decision on whether to bring a case against Biden.

The article notes:

In a written statement to the Washington Post on Thursday, Hunter Biden attorney Chris Clark accused investigators of leaking information from ongoing grand jury proceedings.

“It is a federal felony for a federal agent to leak information about a Grand Jury investigation such as this one,” Clark said. “Any agent you cite as a source in your article apparently has committed such a felony. We expect the Department of Justice will diligently investigate and prosecute such bad actors. As is proper and legally required, we believe the prosecutors in this case are diligently and thoroughly weighing not just evidence provided by agents, but also all the other witnesses in this case, including witnesses for the defense. That is the job of the prosecutors. They should not be pressured, rushed, or criticized for doing their job.”

Earlier this year, the grand jury heard from a witness who was asked to identify the “big guy” referenced in one of the first son’s business deals.

A former Hunter business partner, Tony Bobulinski, has claimed that “the big guy” is Joe

A former Hunter business partner, Tony Bobulinski, has identified “the big guy” as Joe Biden.

I find it rather comical that anyone associated with either the Bidens or the Democrats is complaining about leaks.

How Many News Sources Have Reported This?

The mainstream media controls the narrative not only by how they slant their stories, but also by leaving out stories that do not fit their narrative. During the run-up to the 2020 election, most of the media chose to ignore or censor stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop. The FBI also buried the story by not investigating the charges made by a whistleblower. That whistleblower appeared on Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night and told his story.

The American Thinker posted an article on Wednesday with some stunning details from that interview.

The article reports:

Most readers already know that Tony Bobulinski was the business partner of Hunter Biden and his uncle, Jim Biden, the president’s brother, as they attempted to put together deals with foreign actors.  That partnership broke up, and Bobulinski has become a whistleblower.  But his efforts to interest the FBI in multiple Biden family felonies, including against him, have come to naught.

Last night, in a second sit-down interview with Tucker Carlson, Bobulinski laid out stunning details on how the FBI deep-sixed any public revelations, much less indictments, based on what Bobulinski says are thousands of pages of proof, including emails, text messages, recorded phone calls, and actual business documents.  Despite having possession of abundant evidence, the FBI sat on the investigation through the 2020 election, thereby depriving the public of information that almost certainly would have swayed enough votes to change the outcome and re-elect Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, The New York Post reported:

In his first television appearance in two years, Bobulinski recalls his surprise when he saw that Jim Biden was calling him, and says he showed his ringing phone to the FBI field agents interviewing him at the FBI Washington Field Office.

“On my BlackBerry, Jim Biden called me via WhatsApp, and … my phone starts ringing in the middle of this interview. So, I looked down and I’m like, ‘Is he really calling me right now?’

“So, I show the phone to my lawyer and … then I showed it to the agent. The agents got up out of the chair and left the room. They were like, ‘You can take that call if you want.’ And so, I answered it and there was nobody on the other side. So, I don’t know if it was a mistake or that he tried to send me a message, or what it was. But that’s the last interaction or communication I’ve had with the Biden family.”

Bobulinski gave the FBI a five-hour interview that day, Oct. 23, 2020, as well as the contents of his three cellphones containing encrypted messages between Hunter and Jim Biden and their business partners, emails, and financial documents detailing the Biden family’s influence-peddling operation in foreign countries during Joe’s vice presidency.

Is there anyone left in the Department of Justice or the FBI who cares about corruption?

Moving Immigrants Around The Country In The Dark Of Night

At least when Governor DeSantis shipped the illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, he did it out in the open. The left accused him of everything from kidnapping to human trafficking. But that was then, this is now.

On Monday, The New York Post posted an article about a new destination the government has chosen for illegal immigrants.

The article reports:

The secret flights into Westchester County Airport carrying illegal migrants late at night have dried up in recent weeks. But now they’re flying from the Texas border to Orange County Airport in Montgomery, NY.

According to a report in Mid Hudson News, three flights arrived last week, including one Friday from El Paso carrying 25 youths, mostly girls under the age of 17, from Honduras and Guatemala.

Local cops reportedly stopped a charter bus to check for human trafficking.

Astonishingly, Westchester’s News 12 reported this, waking from its slumber after more than a year of ignoring the big story on their doorstep.

…They really had to work hard to pretend Westchester wasn’t a story, with locals hearing nocturnal oddities, planes arriving after curfew, midnight buses, a sudden influx of foreign kids at local schools and migrants being dropped off at rest stops on the New Jersey Turnpike in the wee hours.

If this is such a wonderful thing, why is it being done under the cover of darkness?

Looking Or Taking?

On Saturday, The New York Post posted an article about a recent FBI raid on a Beverly Hills safety deposit company that uncovered $86 million in cash and millions more other assets, according to a new report.

Pocketsense notes:

No laws exist that prevent you from keeping cash in a safe deposit box. However, while not illegal, bankers typically discourage customers from keeping cash in safe deposit boxes because funds inside the box are not insured. Additionally, you can only access your box during regular bank hours, which means you have no access to your cash during weekends and evenings when banks are closed.

It should also be noted that money in a safe deposit box is not earning interest.

The article at The New York Post notes:

The FBI and US Attorney’s Office misled a judge who issued a warrant for a controversial raid on a Beverly Hills safety deposit company that uncovered $86 million in cash and millions more other assets, according to a new report.

A senior FBI agent recently testified that central to the plan, and not disclosed to the judge, was the permanent confiscation of the contents of every box that contained at least $5,000 in cash or goods, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The alleged disclosure failure came out in FBI documents and agent depositions in a class-action lawsuit by box holders at U.S. Private Vaults, who say the 2021 raid violated their rights.

The FBI justified the seizure by arguing that the goods were tied to unknown crimes, the Times reported, citing court records.

Court filings also showed that agents defied a judge’s restrictions in the warrant by searching through box holders’ belongings for evidence of crimes, the paper said.

“The government did not know what was in those boxes, who owned them, or what, if anything, those people had done,” Robert Frommer, a lawyer who represents nearly 400 box holders in the class-action case, wrote in court papers, according to the Times.

It does seem as if the FBI has overstepped its bounds and been less than honest in its dealings lately. If the FBI truly misrepresented their intentions to the judge, I hope the people in the FBI who planned the raid will be fired.

The Problem Wasn’t What Was Said–It Was Who Said It

I realize that our current President has some difficulty recognizing the importance of personal space, and I realize that there are some valid questions about his past relationships with women and young girls. Keeping that in mind, he needs to be careful about what he says and the jokes he makes.

On Friday, The New York Post reported the following:

President Biden shocked viewers of his Friday speech to teachers when he recognized an audience member and told the crowd, “She was 12, I was 30.”

Biden lit up social media with the confounding and seemingly inappropriate aside. He did not say what he did when he was 30 and the woman was a preteen.

“You gotta say hi to me,” Biden said mid-speech at the National Education Association headquarters in DC. “We go back a long way. She was 12, I was 30. But anyway, this woman helped me get an awful lot done.”

I am willing to give President Biden the benefit of the doubt on this one. How many times has a man remarked to a woman celebrating a wedding anniversary of more than twenty years, “You were twelve, right?” It is supposed to be taken as a compliment. I believe that was the joke President Biden was trying to reach. Unfortunately, his questionable behavior in the past (shown on multiple YouTube videos) caused the joke to go flat. In this particular instance, I am willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt. He is old, he is senile, and half the time he doesn’t know where he is much less what he is saying. I refuse to give him a break on how bad his policies are and the fact that he appears to be totally mentally unfit for the job, but in this case, I am willing to let a stupid remark slide.

Did The Science Change?

On Thursday, The New York Post posted an article about a recent statement by Stacey Abrams.

The article reports:

Progressive Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams is facing fierce backlash after a clip surfaced of her declaring that there is “no such thing” as a fetal heartbeat at six weeks — insisting that is just “manufactured sound” designed to control women’s bodies.

“There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks,” the Peach State gubernatorial candidate said at an event in Atlanta on Tuesday.

“It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.”

You could fertilize your garden with that statement. It illustrates a level of ignorance and willingness to lie for political purposes I can’t even imagine.

Just for the record, Medical News Today states:

The heart of an embryo starts to beat from around 5–6 weeks of pregnancy. Also, it may be possible to see the first visible sign of the embryo, known as the fetal pole, at this stage.

The heart of a fetus is fully developed by the 10th week of pregnancy.

I don’t understand why killing babies is so important to the Democrat party. I also don’t understand why they are so upset about each state now having the right to make their own laws regarding abortion. That is constitutional in accordance with the Tenth Amendment. Finally, I refuse to think of killing a baby as healthcare.
