Americans Want Voter Identification

As I write this, the SAVE Act is stalled in a Senate committee–not making its way to the floor. According to what I read, there are 50 votes to pass the law. The law requires voter identification. It also requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote. I don’t think either of these requirements is unreasonable. (If the filibuster were not in place, 50 votes plus the Vice-President would pass the law). Most Americans want voter id (according to CNN–see below):

On Tuesday, Real Clear Politics reported:

So, the bottom line is this, voter I.D. is not controversial in this country. A photo I.D. to vote is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party, and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree with Nicki Minaj that, in fact, you should have a photo I.D. to be able to vote.

The real questions here is why anyone would oppose voter id. Anyone who has a bank account, travels by air, cashed a check, gets a library card, goes to the doctor, or enters a government building needs a photo id, so it’s not hard to get a photo id. Why would anyone oppose needing one to vote?

I firmly believe that if John Thune does not successfully pass the SAVE Act, the Republicans will lose Congress in the midterms. The American people elected Congress to represent them. If the Republicans in Congress do not represent the voters, they deserve to be sent packing!

The Real Cost Of Illegal Immigration

The people getting upset over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) enforcing the law have chosen to overlook what happens when ICE does not enforce the law.

On Monday, Breitbart reported:

The office of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference has released its annual state immigration report revealing that in 2025, illegal migrants committed 2,183 violent offenses, including 41 homicides, 145 sexual offenses, 11 child rapes, and more.

Republican State Rep. Dan Howell said he was shocked by the report and called the data “really, really bad.”

“These are the criminals liberals want to defend while trying to defund ICE,” he pointed out.

“Forty-one Tennesseeans are dead at the hands of illegal immigrants and hundreds raped. This will not be tolerated in this great state and we will do more to keep you safe,” Howell added. (emphasis original)

The “2025 Immigration Report” released on January 30 is a required (TN Code § 4-1-425 2024) annual report from the state’s district attorneys general conference. The law directs them to “collect and analyze data from law enforcement agencies on the number of persons not lawfully present in the United States charged or convicted of a criminal offense in this state during the previous year.”

The article notes:

The categories of crimes revealed a shocking toll suffered by the state’s citizens at the hands of illegal migrants.

Among the categories of crime, the report includes:

    • 2,183 violent offenses
    • 41 homicides
    • 1,592 assaults
    • 145 sexual offenses
    • 11 child rapes
    • 40 aggravated kidnappings
    • 2,920 DUIs
    • 5,318 cases of driving without a license or on suspended/or revoked
    • 966 Carjackings
    • 36 Felony firearms offenses
    • 66 Assaults on police or first responders

The “2025 Immigration Report” is now the second such report in compliance with the state law. The 2024 report, the first of its kind, collected data from only 73 of the state’s 95 counties and found that 2,719 non-citizens had been charged with crimes.

Are these the people you want to keep in our country? Are the people protesting ICE willing to have these people living in their neighborhoods? Where were the protesters when Martha’s Vineyard threw the illegal aliens out in less than 24 hours?

Why Would A Political Party Fight Election Integrity?

The Democrats are getting ready to shut down the government again in about two weeks. At first it was because of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) funding, but now it is because of the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act enforces the law that limits voting in federal elections to citizens. That should be a no-brainer, but to the Democrats that eliminates a lot of their voting base. In case you haven’t noticed, because Americans are leaving the Democrat party because it has gone too far left, the Democrats need new voters. That is the reason they are fighting so hard to keep illegal aliens here. They need voter fraud and illegal aliens to keep winning. Keep an eye on Fulton County for more information on voter fraud. Also, if they can shut down the government, they may be able to slow down the positive momentum of the Trump administration.

On Tuesday, American Greatness posted an article about the coming government shutdown.

The article reports:

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is warning that a bipartisan appropriations package will be “dead on arrival” in the Senate, if it contains the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

Schumer announced yesterday that he’s willing to risk another government shutdown in order to block GOP attempts to add voter ID and citizenship eligibility requirements to the funding bill.

According to Schumer, “The SAVE Act would impose Jim Crow style restrictions on voting. It will be dead on arrival in the Senate.”

The reluctance of Democrats to limit voting in federal elections to U.S. citizens alone, raises deeper questions about why millions of illegal aliens were allowed to flood into the U.S. under the Biden administration.

The article concludes with a very interesting possible solution:

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) explained to reporters yesterday that standing filibuster may be the best pathway forward to allow a way to break the stalemate and to maneuver around senators who are seeking to block voter ID and citizenship requirements.

Some of our Senators are so old they probably couldn’t stand up long enough to filibuster! Stay tuned.

Sometimes The Double Standard Is Glaring

It is quite possible that Don Lemon will not face serious consequences for denying First Amendment rights to church goers. The excuse will be that he is a reporter and wasn’t part of the disruption. That is garbage, but the right jury might buy into it. Let’s contrast that with the treatment of another reporter, David Daleiden.

On Friday, Jack Cashill posted the following on Substack:

While the details of church stormer Don Lemon’s arrest sort themselves out, I thought it would be a good time to remember the active oppression of real journalists doing real work by Democrats, national and local. I could go 10-deep on this story, but one prosecution stands out for its coordinated ruthlessness.

I do not use the term “fascist” lightly, but when even the liberal Los Angeles Times opens an article with a paragraph like the one that follows, I think fascist is apt: “California Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris is drawing fire from supporters of an anti-abortion activist whose undercover videos and identity cards were seized by the state Department of Justice this week after Harris’ political campaign sought to drum up support for Planned Parenthood.”

The activist was David Daleiden. In April 2016, California authorities raided his Huntington Beach apartment. At the time, Harris was running for California’s open U.S. Senate seat. Her campaign website was asking supporters “to take a stand and join Kamala in defending Planned Parenthood.” In the course of Planned Parenthood’s history no one had presented a greater threat to the organization’s federal funding and public support than Daleiden and his partner Sandra Merritt.

In 2013, the then 24-year-old Daleiden launched the most sustained and effective undercover journalism project in decades. Working through a journalistic entity of his own creation, the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), he and Merritt learned the language and the mechanics of the fetal tissue procurement business and went to work.

The article concludes:

In 2017, Harris’s successor as attorney general, Xavier Becerra, filed 15 felony charges against Daleiden and Merritt and tied them up in court for the next eight years. In May 2020, Daleiden filed suit against Becerra and Harris, claiming Harris violated his civil rights by conspiring with Planned Parenthood to silence him.

In 2025, after nine years of politically-driven lawfare, the State of California essentially dropped all charges against Daleiden and Merritt. The damage, however, had been done. With the pair silenced, the baby parts industry continued on its barbaric way.

In the Democrats’ America, killing and dismembering unborn babies and marketing their body parts is perfectly acceptable. Reporting on the practice is criminal. If that is not fascistic, I am not sure I know what is.

Unfortunately, the uncivilized practice of selling aborted baby body parts continues.

This Might Help Deal With Some Of Our Immigration Problems

One of the differences between the current migrants coming into America and the migrants that came here during the first fifty years of the twentieth century is the welfare safety net. Until the 1960’s War on Poverty, the safety net was comprised of your neighbors and your local church. The government had nothing to do with keeping people fed or housed. Just for the record, we obviously lost the War on Poverty and we need to admit that and end it. Rand Paul may be on to something.

On Thursday, The Center Square reported:

With billions of American taxpayer dollars on the line, and funding for over a dozen welfare benefits for refugees set to continue, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is taking a stand.

Paul introduced the End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act to end taxpayer benefits for refugees, asylees and illegal immigrants.

As previously reported by The Center Square, nearly $6 billion in continual funding for refugees is poised to be approved.

Funding for the refugee program skyrocketed under the Biden administration as part of the Refugee and Entrant Assistant programs.

The funding rose from less than $2 billion in fiscal year 2021, the last year of President Donald Trump’s first term, to nearly $9 billion the next fiscal year – the first year of former President Joe Biden’s administration.

Right now we have too many people sitting in the wagon and too few people pulling the wagon. It’s not right to take large sums of money from people who earned it and give it to people who did not.

The article concludes:

Congressionally appropriated spending on refugee and migrant assistance programs rose sharply under the Biden administration, totaling roughly $30 billion over those four years.

In particular, lawmakers significantly increased appropriations for the Refugee and Entrant Assistance programs – housed in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – which provide benefits to eligible refugees.

In fiscal year 2021, the last year of Trump’s first term, Congress appropriated $1.91 billion for REA programs. That number shot up to $8.92 billion the following year, coinciding with the influx of Afghan refugees and record-high border crossings.

Total federal assistance for refugee programs in fiscal year 2023, however, reached $10 billion, as an OpenTheBooks investigation highlighted.

“With a national debt exceeding $38 trillion, Washington should not be running a welfare system on autopilot,” according to a release from the Rand’s office. “The End Welfare for Non-Citizens Act puts America First by stopping taxpayer dollars from being siphoned into benefits for non-citizens. If we want a sustainable safety net and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, this bill is a must-pass.”

Among his first acts upon his second inauguration in January 2025, Trump suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, sayng “it would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.”

We cannot afford to continue doing what we are doing.

Shutdown Blackmail

The Democrats right now are a minority in Congress, but you wouldn’t know that by their actions. They have decided to use a strategy of creating chaos and fiscal blackmail to try to derail the Trump agenda (and work against policies that they have supported in the past).

On Monday, American Greatness reported:

Another government shutdown looks increasingly likely by the end of the week. Democrats are demanding that major changes to Department of Homeland Security enforcement policy be written directly into the budget agreement. Those changes would largely shut down President Trump’s deportation efforts.

Trump has already made some changes. For example, DHS removed Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino – who had become a political lightning rod – from his assignment in Minneapolis. Democrats, however, are pressing for far more sweeping changes. They want to require judicial warrants for immigration arrests, force ICE agents to be easily identifiable, and grant states the authority to conduct their own investigations of federal ICE agents. Democrats have also demanded body cameras for ICE agents, even though the current budget proposal already funds them.

After the unprecedented percentage increase in violent crime during the Biden administration, Democrats may be pushing to halt deportations to prevent Republicans from getting credit for the sharp drop in violent crime that appears to have started last year. New evidence shows that illegal aliens commit crimes at rates at least 3.4 times higher than their share of the population. At the same time, about 47% of ICE detainees have criminal charges or convictions in the United States, and it is possible that an additional 23% have criminal records in their home countries. Removing hundreds of thousands of offenders through immigration enforcement could therefore have a meaningful impact on crime in the United States and help explain the huge drop in crime last year. Strong enforcement could also deter future crimes by signaling that arrest for criminal activity is likely to result in deportation, not release back into the community.

The article concludes:

Democrats are using the threat of yet another government shutdown to force sweeping policy changes that would sharply curtail federal immigration enforcement. Some of their demands even contradict long-standing Democratic positions on federal supremacy in immigration. But Democrats have one goal in mind: Stop Trump from deporting illegal aliens.

Voting for a Democrat in the midterms is voting for less safe neighborhoods.

Ending One Area Of Government Interference Into Private Enterprise

On Sunday, Townhall posted an article about an attempt by Biden-Harris FTC, Chair Lina Khan to prevent manufacturers from giving better prices to companies that bought their products in bulk. She is now the co-chair of Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral transition team. Communism has its rewards.

The article reports:

She loved using a little-known Great Depression law, called the Robinson-Patman Act, to crack down on companies that offered bulk pricing discounts to their customers.

For example, in December 2024, Khan’s agency sued Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, an alcohol distributor, for giving better deals to national chains like Costco, Total Wine, and Kroger while charging independent liquor stores more for the same products.

Then, on January 17, 2025 — just days before President Trump’s inauguration — her FTC filed a similar suit against PepsiCo over promotional terms that she claimed favored Walmart and other giants over smaller grocers.

These companies weren’t raising prices; they were lowering them. But they still got sued by Biden’s administration through the Robinson-Patman Act.

Robinson-Patman wasn’t written to stop companies from competing on price. That, after all, is the entire point of free enterprise. The act was written to stop companies with real market power from rigging prices with the intention of squeezing out competitors unfairly.

Yet neither of these two Biden administration Robinson-Patman Act cases pointed to a single direct harm consumers faced from this price-cutting.

At the time, then-Commissioner Ferguson called this egregious Biden abuse of power out for what it was. In his January 2025 dissent on the PepsiCo case, he labeled the filing “purely political,” accusing the outgoing Democratic majority of “march[ing] staff into court with no evidence to support the most important allegations in the Complaint.” He called it an “insult to the Commission’s credibility, its hardworking and talented staff,” and “a waste of taxpayer dollars.”

Ferguson was right on target — and when he took the FTC’s reins from Khan once Trump was sworn into office, he dismissed the PepsiCo case.

The article concludes:

Which raises the question: How could the Biden team be so tone-deaf in filing these cases?

Perhaps they have never done their own grocery shopping and thus didn’t understand how we all shop or what we prioritize.

Or — and I fear this might be more likely — perhaps they know exactly what we all do, but they didn’t take that into consideration when filing the cases, because shaping the world to more closely resemble their progressive, anti-capitalist worldview was more important to them than protecting consumer welfare.

Maybe the Biden holdovers tried to take away your Costco deals because they truly hate capitalist business efficiency that much. But Chair Ferguson and the rest of the Trump administration are making sure they won’t succeed.

If that’s not grounds for a free lifetime Costco membership, then I don’t know what is.

This is very real example of the reason elections matter.

Pay Attention, Republicans

On Saturday, The Gateway Pundit posted an article about some recent comments by Republican activist Scott Presler. You may remember that Scott Presler was a major factor in President Trump’s 2024 election victory. He has become a seasoned political worker and observer.

The article reports:

Republican activist Scott Presler joined Kayleigh McEnany on FOX News to push the Save Act. Presler told FOX News that there are already 48 co-sponsors with Mike Lee sponsoring the bill. But Senate Majority Leader John Thune needs to bring it up for a vote.

The Save act requires:
** Proof of US citizenship to vote,
** Mandates states to verify the citizenship of voters
** Requires states to remove non-citizens from the voter rolls

These are basic rules to help secure our elections. Democrats are against them, of course.

Scott is urging everyone to continue to call their senators and ask them to make a public statement about moving the Save Act to the Senate floor.

The article includes the following statement from Scott:

So my warning to members of Congress that are not willing to pass election reform at the federal level, which is constitutional, is either Republicans allow for proof of citizenship and photo voter ID, or it’s very likely that Republican voters will not come out on Tuesday, November third, and we very likely could lose the House of Representatives, and you could even lose Senate. The senatorships in Alaska, Maine, North Carolina. And if we lose three seats, Kaylee, it’s 50-50, and we lose the majority. So to our beautiful Senate Republican colleagues that are in the majority right now, I ask you, bring the Save Act to the floor, and any senator against proof of citizenship must tell the American people publicly on the floor why they are against it.

The Save Act will help deal with the problem of election integrity. Right now we have tens of thousands of people in America who are not citizens and may not have a problem illegally voting. The Save Act would help deal with that problem. If the Republicans can not get it passed, what is the point of electing them?

Please follow the link to the article. It contains a video of the interview on Fox News.

Why We Need ICE

The mission of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) is to protect America from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten national security and public safety. Many of the people who crossed the border during the Biden administration were gang members, people with criminal backgrounds, and people with ties to terrorist countries. Most Americans do not want these people as their neighbors. The article below is an example of the reason for ICE.

On Saturday, The New York Post reported:

An alleged crack-smoking, sexual-predator migrant wanted by ICE was allowed to flee through a back door of a Manhattan courthouse — infuriating federal agents, The Post has learned.

Gerardo Miguel Mora, 45, was arrested Thursday for shoplifting and possession of stolen property after allegedly snatching $130 in items from an H&M display case in Midtown that day, court records show.

Mora, whose country of origin was not disclosed, was collared on the Upper West Side on Jan. 7 for possession of alleged crack cocaine, according to a criminal complaint. That case is pending in court.

In 2011, Mora was busted for attempted rape and strangulation after he allegedly followed a 21-year-old woman home in Midtown, choked her and tried to remove her clothes, police sources said.

He was stopped by a bystander who heard the woman’s cries and came to her aid, holding Mora down until cops arrived, the sources said.

He was presumably deported after that, and was off the radar for 12 years. But in 2023 he was back in the US and arrested for showing a false ID.

Federal authorities had been looking for Mora on a criminal arrest warrant under a section of the US code that concerns “reentry of removed aliens,” law enforcement sources said.

But on Thursday in a court hearing on desk appearance tickets, the judge let Mora waltz out of the courtroom, sources said.

The shoplifting charge itself was not bail eligible, but Judge Sheridan Jack-Browne, a Democrat who won a special election last year in Brooklyn, would have had the federal arrest warrant, two sources told The Post.

The warrant is actually put in a folder for the judge to peruse on the bench.

“Everything was sent over” to the courthouse by ICE, a federal law enforcement source said.

But instead of handing him over to waiting ICE agents, Mora was allowed to simply slip out the back door of Manhattan Criminal Court, law enforcement sources said.

“They refused to hand him over,” the irate fed said. “They let him out the back to avoid ICE.”

ICE agents realized Mora had been released, and chased him down outside, a source said.

Mora’s now in federal custody. The Department of Justice could prosecute Mora, deport him or both.

It’s a pretty safe bet that this criminal is not going to show up in the judge’s well-guarded neighborhood or living quarters, so it’s no skin off her back to let him loose. Where is the regard for the safety of her fellow New York City residents. If he attempts to rape someone, is she responsible?

Let’s Talk About The Children

When Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House, we constantly heard about laws that were ‘for the children.’ Actually most of the laws she supported put the children in debt before they were born, but that’s another story. The Trump administration has done a number of things ‘for the children,’ but there is one that is very important.

On Friday, Red State reported:

One of the more horrible aspects of the mass illegal immigration that was allowed to fester under the presidency of Joe Biden and whoever was running the autopen was the number of unaccompanied illegal alien children that went missing. Most estimates place the number at 300,000. Until recently, we didn’t know what had become of those children.

Now, we have nearly half of them back. On Friday, Border Czar Tom “The Hammer” Homan took a few moments off from staring down ICE protestors in Minneapolis to take note of this on his official X account.

On Friday, Tom Homan posted this on X:

This is happening because it is a priority of the Trump administration. It was not a priority during the Biden administration (possibly they were aiding and abetting it). Many of the people that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) is attempting to deport are involved in gang activity, drug smuggling, and child trafficking. They are not the people you want living in your neighborhood. Please consider that when watching the protests.

Let The Lawsuits Begin

One of the problems with the transgenderism being pushed on some of our young children is that the children are coerced into medical decisions that are not reversible. Many of these children grow out of their desire to transition and are stuck with the results of their previous decision. Up until now, they have not been successful in getting legal recourse for their situation. That just changed.

On Saturday, The Daily Wire reported:

On Friday, a young woman who had her healthy breasts removed at age 16 for supposed transgender “medical care” was awarded $2 million, marking the first successful detransitioner malpractice lawsuit in the nation.

Fox Varian’s psychologist and surgeon were held liable by a jury in Westchester, New York, according to independent reporter Benjamin Ryan, who attended the three-week trial.

Ryan suggested the case is just the beginning of detransitioner lawsuits he’s been following and that, ultimately, these sorts of results could discourage doctors from advising or performing these types of life-altering surgeries on minors.

“My sources suggest that tort law might permanently destroy this field,” he said.

I actually don’t have a problem with the field being destroyed. If someone over 21 chooses to make that decision, that’s on them, but children under 21 can’t smoke or drink. Why are we letting them decide on permanent, life-altering surgery?

The article notes:

“Very significant US case – there are more in pipeline – they are likely to fundamentally change the US medical profession’s approach to surgically altering the healthy bodies of children questioning their gender,” columnist Sonia Sodha said. “Been a long, long time coming.”

A transitioned patient is a patient for life–it takes serious drugs to convince the body that this is the new normal. There is also the questionable practice of adding testosterone to PMS.
