Sometimes A Big Tent Is Nothing More Than A Site For A Brawl

Establishment Republicans are always expressing their desire for a ‘big tent’ where everyone is welcome. Maybe they should consider who they are inviting in. Some of the Republicans are so offended by the fact that President Trump is President (he is not one of their club) that they are willing to throw the country to the wolves to get him out of office. We all understand that if the Democrats win Congress in the mid-term elections, President Trump will be impeached and all of the positive things that he has done for the average American will go away. Congress has not passed into law most of his Executive Orders, and those Orders will go away–energy independence will be one of them. But the Establishment Republicans don’t care about that, and they are working hard to make sure they lose the mid-term elections.

On Wednesday, The Federalist reported:

You almost have to admire how far some Republicans are willing to go to lose the 2026 midterms — and ultimately, the country.

Throughout their recent two-week vacation, several GOP lawmakers have been making the media rounds to tout “bipartisan” legislation they claim will finally solve America’s broken immigration system. There’s just one teensy-weensy important detail that somehow gets brushed aside: The bill would allow millions of illegal aliens to continue living in the United States.

Sponsored by Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar, R-Fla., Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., and other lawmakers, the so-called DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act permits “certain long-term undocumented immigrants to earn legal status, without amnesty or a path to citizenship” so that foreign nationals who broke U.S. immigration law can have an “opportunity,” according to a Salazar press release. The measure would notably create a “Dignity Program,” which the Florida congresswoman’s office described as a “7-year earned legal status program allowing undocumented immigrants to live and work legally, with renewable status based on good conduct and restitution.”

The article notes:

Such a proposal isn’t just asinine because it cripples America’s sovereignty and long-term survival as a nation. It’s also incredibly moronic from a political standpoint.

Aside from the “One Big Beautiful Bill” that they never effectively sold to voters, Republicans have virtually nothing to show for their congressional majorities. The Senate GOP still hasn’t passed the SAVE America Act, rogue judges continue to go unpunished, many of Trump’s executive orders haven’t been codified into law, and other conservative priorities remain untouched.

So, exactly what are voters — including those who identify as Republicans — supposed to vote for this fall? Amnesty? More GOP obstruction of the conservative policies they were promised but are now told aren’t possible with Republican majorities?

The Grand Old Party doesn’t have an answer — and it shows.

I don’t know if the Republicans are stupid or just want to lose.

It’s The Economy, Stupid!

On Friday, The Daily Caller posted an article featuring some comments by Hugh Hewitt on how the Republicans need to frame the 2026 midterm elections. Currently, the Democrat word of the day is ‘affordability,’ but what the Democrats fail to realize is that for the working American, affordability is improving.

The article reports:

“I think if the message remains ‘Affordability decides elections,’ Republicans are going to like next November because most prices depend upon energy. And the energy production policies that you saw Secretary [Chris] Wright refer to there and Secretary Burgum over at Interior, are bringing the cost of oil and gas down,” Hewitt told host Bret Baier. “I was in Fort Worth this week. Gas costs $2.55 in Fort Worth this week. I was kind of surprised at how low it is. In the Beltway it’s about $3.50. And out in California, it’s almost $5, $5.50 on average, depends on where you live. But it’s going down.”

The national average for regular gasoline fell below $3 this week for the first time in four years, settling at $2.99 since Tuesday. Analysts say weaker demand, cheaper winter-blend fuel and lower crude prices near $60 a barrel are all driving the decline.

The article concludes:

“So we are bringing prices down. Way down. Beef is coming down now. We have done certain magic. Beef is coming down. We inherited horrible prices. We inherited, really, the worst, again, the worst inflation in history. We inherited that. When I came in, that was what he had, and we fixed inflation. And we fixed almost everything if you want to know the truth, including eight wars. We got one to go, including eight wars,” the president said.

After Democrats scored a string of prominent victories in November, Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair told Politico that Republicans would redirect their messaging toward affordability ahead of the midterms. Blair said Trump knows economic recoveries aren’t instantaneous but believes the underlying indicators are improving.

“The president is very keyed into what’s going on, and he recognizes, like anybody, that it takes time to do an economic turnaround, but all the fundamentals are there, and I think you’ll see him be very, very focused on prices and cost of living,” Blair told the outlet.

The Goal Of The Democrat Party

On Thursday, PJ Media posted an article explaining what the Democrats plan to do if they gain control of Congress in 2026. Obviously, the first thing they plan to do is to impeach President Trump. We all want to go back to the Biden economy, right? Voters need to see the dangers ahead if the Democrats gain control of Congress–the danger is not just economic.

The article reports:

Democrats have completely dropped the pretense of fair play and now openly admit that they intend to rig the system to secure permanent control. James Carville, a longtime Democratic strategist, declared that if Democrats win big in 2028, they should use that victory as a launchpad to cement their power in ways never seen before.

Carville explicitly called for adding Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, both reliably Democratic strongholds, as new states to skew electoral influence. On top of that, he advocated expanding the Supreme Court to 13 seats, packing it with leftist judges to tilt future judicial decisions in their favor. In other words, Democrats are no longer content with trying to win elections; they want to change the rules so they can’t lose them.

“If the Democrats win the presidency, the Senate and the House in 2028, which is not impossible — I don’t know if you’d say likely or possible, I don’t know what word, you know, but it’s certainly not impossible — they are just gonna have to unilaterally add Puerto Rico and District of Columbia states,” he said.

We have already seen the howls of panic at the idea that the Republicans might copy the Democrats and gerrymander election districts. Now the Democrats are hoping to change the rules so that America only has one political party in power indefinitely. So who is the threat to democracy? Just for the record, we are a constitutional republic–not a democracy.

Let’s get an accurate census, redistrict in a way that favors neither party, and have an honest election.
