Is This Constitutional? Do We Still Have A Constitution?

On September 21st, Hot Air reported on the first cabinet meeting President Biden has held in almost a year. It was not a normal cabinet meeting.

The article reports:

I suppose this has happened often enough during this administration that we probably shouldn’t be all that shocked, but that doesn’t mean that this behavior should be normalized. As we have noted here multiple times in the past, It’s been almost a year since Joe Biden sat down for a meeting with the members of his cabinet to discuss world affairs and get their agenda in order. That changed yesterday when the first such cabinet meeting in more than eleven months was held at the White House… sort of. A meeting was indeed called to order, but Joe Biden’s entire participation in it was comprised of his introductory remarks where he welcomed the person who would actually be chairing the meeting. That would be his wife, Jill Biden. Dr. Jill wound up doing almost all of the talking while Joe disappeared into the background before departing. This jarring event led many observers to yet again as the same question we’ve been wrestling with all year. Who is actually running the country right now?

Can you imagine the uproar if Melania had held a cabinet meeting?

The article concludes:

No matter what you may have thought of the outcome of the 2020 elections, the fact is that we did hold an election. Not a single person voted for Jill Biden to hold any sort of official office or power over the fundamental operation of our country. And yet she is obviously the person in charge of America’s government today. Are you okay with that? If the elected President is unable to discharge his duties (as clearly seems to be the case) the Founders provided us with various options to ensure the orderly transition of power, with further clarification coming from the addition of the 25th Amendment. It is impossible to imagine the authors of any of those fundamental documents writing, “If that doesn’t work out, don’t worry. There will be another election coming along soon enough. Let’s just hope for the best, shall we?”

As the Post correctly notes, Joe Biden has been officially on vacation for two-thirds of the days of the past month. I specify “officially” because there is typically so little on his schedule each day that it’s difficult to discern which days are vacation days and which are “work days” when he simply does basically nothing. Looking around that room and seeing the collection of DEI appointees for cabinet positions that Biden has assembled, it’s difficult to say who – if anyone – is actually running anything anymore.

They were happy to show up and clap like trained seals for Jill Biden and she seemed to be enjoying the experience fully. How nice for her. Meanwhile, the world is on fire and the Vice President (who should have already replaced Biden under more normal circumstances) is busy campaigning while taking no questions and refusing to discuss her policy plans. This is no way to run an airline, folks. Fasten your seatbelts. We still have several months to go before we can officially say goodbye to Joe Biden and it will probably turn out to be a very rocky ride.

This is no way to run a country.

Disturbing Information About The Assassination Attempt On President Trump

On Monday morning, Red State posted an article about the preliminary report on the assassination attempt on President Trump. The report is from Senator Ron Johnson.

The article notes:

We reported on Sunday about the disturbing news that the Secret Service admitted they hadn’t provided resources when asked for the Trump detail, when they had previously denied that. Also, according to information from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) reported by Real Clear Politics’ Susan Crabtree, they delegated 12 post-standers for Jill Biden’s event in Pittsburgh versus three for Trump’s event with many more people in Butler. That, despite a known threat from the Iranians against Trump.

We had already covered the report that resources had been moved to Jill Biden from the Trump detail and that the Trump detail didn’t have a lot of their regular people on it, that there were “temps” on the detail.

The report includes a list of security failures by the Secret Service:

1.) Secret Service did not attend a security briefing provided to local special weapons and tactics (SWAT) and sniper teams the morning of July 13, 2024. Why not?–There was a 9 a.m. briefing on July 13, 2024, Butler County Emergency Services (Butler ESU) provided a security briefing for the local SWAT teams and snipers assigned to the rally. In addition to Butler County, local SWAT teams and snipers from Washington County and Beaver County were also tasked with security responsibilities.

2. Local law enforcement said communications were siloed and they were not in frequent radio contact directly with Secret Service.

3. Local law enforcement notified command about Crooks prior to the shooting and received confirmation that Secret Service was aware of the notification.

4. Following the shooting Secret Service was seen on the roof of the AGR building with local law enforcement; photos of the shooter were sent to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for facial recognition.

5.) Secret Service was initially not going to send snipers to the rally, according to local law enforcement.

This is unacceptable. Someone needs to be held accountable for this failure.

This Meme Has Been Removed From Social Media

Because this meme has been removed from social media, I thought it would be appropriate to post it here. The meme appeared at USA Supreme on Monday.

Here is the meme:

The article notes:

First lady Jill Biden was an honorary captain for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday as the team looked to stay undefeated against NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

Like several Eagles players and Santa Claus before her, fans of the only unbeaten team left in NFL reportedly booed Biden when she stepped onto Lincoln Financial Field.

Several people in attendance for the Eagles game tweeted about the apparent loud boos she received.

It appears the video of Jill Biden getting booed has been scrubbed from the networks so we will keep looking!

After that Jill Biden talked to Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid.

…And that leads us to a meme that’s directed more toward FLOTUS’s husband and the Democrats who support him!

Social media giants also removed the meme from everywhere but we managed to download the meme which could be the most accurate economic depiction of the last few years.

My purpose in posting this article was to remind everyone that if they are relying on the mainstream media or the mainstream social media for their news, they are either not informed or misinformed. Neither is good for the survival of our Republic.

It’s Amazing How This Works

On August 10, 2020, The Wall Street Journal posted an article (if you can’t get into the article, try opening it up in a private window) about Joe Biden’s taxes. While Joe Biden (and the rest of the Democrats) are criticizing President Trump for the amount of taxes he paid (there is no indication that President Trump did anything other than follow the laws that were written by Joe Biden and his pals in Congress), it seems that the Bidens also believed in paying as little in taxes as possible.

The article reports:

Joe Biden responded to President Trump’s partial suspension of payroll-tax collections with a statement calling it the “first shot in a new, reckless war on Social Security.” He continued: “Our seniors and millions of Americans with disabilities are under enough stress without Trump putting their hard-earned Social Security benefits in doubt.”

Mr. Biden’s objections might be more persuasive had he and his wife, Jill, not gone out of their way to avoid funding seniors’ entitlement benefits. According to their tax returns, in 2017 and 2018 the Bidens and his wife Jill avoided payroll taxes on nearly $13.3 million in income from book royalties and speaking fees. They did so by classifying the income as S-corporation profits rather than taxable wages.

The Bidens did pay themselves “salaries” from their corporations—CelticCapri Corp. and Giacoppa Corp.—of nearly $750,000 between them over two years, and they paid full taxes on that income. But they circumvented the payroll tax on the nearly 95% of their income that remained. A tax expert interviewed by the Journal in 2019 called the Bidens’ scheme “pretty aggressive”; another told the paper it served solely to avoid the payroll taxes.

The article notes:

According to the Urban Institute, a couple featuring one high earner and one average earner, retiring this year, will have paid a total of $209,000 in Medicare taxes during their working lives. The Bidens avoided paying nearly twice that much in Medicare taxes during two years. The maximum payroll tax affected by Mr. Trump’s suspension is $1,984—less than 1/250th of the amount the Bidens avoided in 2017-18.

Seems like a bit of hypocrisy.
