Where Was The Investigation?

On Wednesday, Townhall posted an article about a young lady named Katie, who was visiting friends at the University of Illinois when the vehicle she was riding in was struck from behind at nearly 80 miles per hour by an intoxicated driver. Two young women were killed. Three others suffered devastating injuries.

The article reports:

According to court records, the driver had previously been removed from the United States, illegally reentered the country, and ultimately obtained an Illinois driver’s license before the crash.

Whether one supports or opposes Illinois’ immigration policies is beside the point.

Those facts alone should have prompted obvious questions inside state government.

How did someone previously removed from the United States obtain an Illinois driver’s license?

Were Illinois’ credentialing standards adequate?

Were existing safeguards followed?

If they were, should they now be strengthened?

If they weren’t, why not?

Should Illinois review the policies that made this possible?

Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request concerning the death of Katie.

The article notes:

According to Judicial Watch’s review of the Governor’s FOIA response, there was virtually no evidence that Katie’s death prompted that kind of inquiry.

The most revealing part of the Governor’s files wasn’t what they contained. It was what they appeared to lack: any meaningful curiosity about how Illinois might prevent another family from experiencing the same loss.

That absence speaks louder than any press release.

The article concludes:

Every aviation disaster is investigated.

Every bridge collapse is examined.

Every major industrial accident is reviewed so future lives can be saved.

Government should hold itself to the same standard.

Its first responsibility is not to defend an ideology.

Its first responsibility is to pursue the truth, even when that truth is politically inconvenient.

Especially then.

Every morning I wake up knowing my daughter never will.

I have accepted that my grief is mine to carry.

What I cannot accept is the possibility that Illinois government moved on before it ever stopped to ask what happened—or whether another family could be spared.

Katie deserved more than condolences.

She deserved a government curious enough to ask how this happened…

courageous enough to examine whether its own policies played a role…

and humble enough to change them if they did.

Every Illinois family deserves that.

Katie’s death was not investigated because the questions it would expose would reveal how warped our past immigration and deportation policies have been.

The Need To Know Who Is In The Country Illegally

On June 18th, The New York Post posted an article about the alleged ringleader in the planned attack on the White House during President Trump’s birthday celebration.

The article reports:

The alleged “ringleader” of the explosive drone attack plot against the UFC event at the White House is an illegal immigrant from Mexico, the Department of Homeland Security said Thursday.

Abraham Alvarez, 31, came to the US as a child and failed to leave the country when his B2 visa expired in 2001, but was granted deportation relief under the Obama administration through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Alvarez was one of five alleged co-conspirators in the scheme to kill President Trump and other top government officials at the combat sports spectacle held late Sunday on the White House South Lawn attended by thousands of fight fans.

The plotters allegedly wanted to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event with explosive-laden drones and then pick off fleeing members of the crowd with a team of snipers.

Authorities told the outlet Alvarez was responsible for planning, organizing and directing the coordinated attack, which was thwarted by the FBI and local authorities.

“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.”

“He will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country,” she added of Alvarez.

Let’s hope that if this man is convicted when he eventually stands trial, he is deported. Let’s hope that at that time (which could be years from now) we have a President who is enforcing the border so that this alleged plotter cannot sneak back into the country.

The Dangers Of Having Illegal Aliens Who Do Not Share Western Values Working Here

On Friday, Breitbart posted an article about an illegal immigrant from India sentenced for sex-trafficking in Nebraska. He will serve a ten-year prison term and then be deported to India.

The article reports:

Kavankumar Patel, an illegal migrant from India, has been sentenced to a ten-year prison term for participating in a child sex-trafficking ring in Omaha, Nebraska, the Department of Justice announced.

The 27-year-old native of Gujarat, India, was convicted on two counts of sex trafficking of a minor, and handed a ten-year sentence with no chance for parole, the DOJ said in a press release.

The article notes:

Police in Omaha had initially been contacted over a case of theft that Patel was allegedly involved in, but upon investigating that case, police realized that there was something more sinister going on. They brought in the Homeland Security Task Force and a joint investigation revealed two young girls, 15 and 16, who had been brought to an Omaha motel for sex.

The girls told investigators that they had been forced to allow hotel employees to have sex with them to get cheaper hotel rates. DOJ says that several hotel employees later admitted engaging in sex with the girls. Patel was one such employee and in court admitted that he schemed to “harbor, obtain, and maintain the minors in the hotel.”

Many U.S. hotels are owned or operated by Indians from the large Patel clan. This coast-to-coast Indian enclave also uses a large inflow of cheap-labor illegal migrants — mostly from India — who are believed to be more likely to facilitate other crimes, including prostitution and drug crimes.

…Five other migrants were also charged in the sex-trafficking scheme.

Those arrested and now being prosecuted include Eduardo Jose Perdomo, 36; Michel Martinez-Gonzalez, 28; and Alfredo Zambrano-Hurtado, 24. All were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit human trafficking, and two counts of sex trafficking minors by force, fraud, and/or coercion.

When people come here illegally, why do we expect them to abide by our laws?

Why We Need To Deport Criminals

On Sunday, Legal Insurrection posted an article about a Loyola University student who was murdered in Chicago.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is confirming new details in the killing of an 18-year-old Loyola University student in Chicago, as federal immigration authorities again press state and local officials over the handling of a suspect previously released into the country and later by local law enforcement.

“BREAKING: DHS confirms that the suspect in custody for murdering Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in Chicago is a Venezuelan illegal alien who was caught & released at the border by the Biden administration in May 2023. DHS says he was also released from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in Chicago on June 19, 2023.” (Bill Melugin via X)

According to DHS and ICE, the suspect has been identified as Venezuelan national Jose Medina-Medina. He is accused of approaching Sheridan Gorman and a group of friends near Loyola Beach Pier in the early morning hours, pulling out a firearm, and opening fire. Gorman was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have indicated she was likely not the intended target.

Federal officials say Medina-Medina had multiple prior encounters with both immigration authorities and local law enforcement before the shooting. DHS states he was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol in May 2023 and released into the country. He was then arrested in Chicago for shoplifting and released again in June 2023.

That sequence is what federal officials are now zeroing in on. ICE confirmed it has lodged an arrest detainer and is urging Illinois officials and Chicago authorities not to release Medina-Medina from custody as the case proceeds.

The article concludes:

ICE has also pointed to prior outreach to Illinois officials, including warnings about non-compliance with detainers involving individuals accused or convicted of serious offenses.

The underlying legal conflict is not abstract. Federal immigration detainers are requests, not mandates, and sanctuary jurisdictions have built policy frameworks around declining them. That tension has existed for years, but cases like this collapse the debate into a single question: custody, release, and consequences.

In this instance, DHS is not pointing to a theoretical risk. It is pointing to a documented chain of events, a release at the border, a second release after a criminal arrest, and a homicide that followed. Federal authorities are now making clear the next decision point is immediate and unavoidable: whether local officials honor the detainer, or once again release a suspect whose prior releases are now central to the case they are confronting.

We need to keep criminals off the streets whether they are here legally or illegally.

When Elected Officials Endanger Americans

On Wednesday, Legal Insurrection posted an article about Abdul Jalloh, an illegal immigrant accused of killing Stephanie Minter, 41, at a Virginia bus stop on February 23rd. Aside from the fact that he was in the country illegally, Abdul Jalloh had a record of violent crimes.

The article reports:

Mr. Jalloh has more than 40 past charges, and almost every case, Descano’s (Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano) office dropped those charges and released this illegal immigrant, violent offender, back into the community, and they had a warning from the police department.

The article concludes:

7News found Jalloh has more than 40 past charges in Fairfax County, ranging from rape to assault, and in almost every case, Descano’s office dropped the charges.

An email of a bond alert from August 2025 from a Fairfax County police employee to Assistant Chief Brooke Wright, which says Jalloh: has had over 100 involvements with FCPD over the years, resulting in multiple charges and arrests, spanning from theft to violent crimes against persons. JALLOH’s offenses began with domestic violence incidents and escalated to assaulting other victims and threats with weapons (knives). He has been involved in multiple stabbing incidents with victims identifying him as the offender in these cases. This year JALLOH has been the offender in a malicious wounding where he stabbed a man in May 2025, in which he received a bond on July 31, 2025— three weeks later, this incident occurred where he assaulted an older male and stomped his head into the ground.

I bet the police department lost its mind when Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger said she would not honor an ICE detainer for Jollah. She told DHS to get a judicial warrant.

*sigh*

ICE does not need a warrant unless a judge finds probable cause that a federal crime was committed.

I wonder if the people in Virginia regret their vote for governor yet. This is certainly a textbook case for deporting illegal aliens who commit crimes THE FIRST TIME they are arrested.

We Need To Make Our Roads Safer

On November 20, Townhall posted an article about another fatal accident involving an illegal immigrant driving a semi truck. This is getting old.

The article reports:

Over the weekend, yet another illegal immigrant with a commercial driver’s license issued by the State of New York caused a multi-car collision resulting in the death of an Indiana National Guardsman. The illegal, Georgian national Goderdzi Gujabidze, 56, has since been arrested.

Gujabidze was driving an 18-wheeler in Boone County, Indiana, when he collided with a military Humvee and another vehicle. Indiana National Guardsman Terry Frye died on the scene, and three others were hospitalized.

When authorities attempted to communicate with Gujabidze, they encountered a “language barrier” that required “a translator.”

Officials discovered that the illegal immigrant had secured a non-domiciled Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in New York after the Biden administration waved him across the border in San Luis, Arizona, in 2022.

The article concludes:

The Department of Transportation, led by Sean Duffy, initiated an audit of state records for CDL holders. California alone was found to have illegally issued 17,000 CDLs to foreigners. 

“What our team has discovered should disturb and anger every American,” Secretary Duffy said recently. “Licenses to operate a massive, 80,000-pound truck are being issued to dangerous foreign drivers — often times illegally. This is a direct threat to the safety of every family on the road, and I won’t stand for it. Today’s actions will prevent unsafe foreign drivers from renewing their license and hold states accountable to immediately invalidate improperly issued licenses.”

The federal highway funds allocated to the states that are issuing CDL’s to illegals need to be suspended until the practice is stopped. Unfortunately, I believe this move has been blocked by the courts.

Another Reason To Enforce Border Laws

On Thursday, Breitbart posted an article about a gruesome murder in Texas. A 37-year-old illegal alien from Cuba with a lengthy violent criminal history who was released by the Biden administration into Texas on January 13 — one week before Donald Trump was sworn in as president, according to ICE, brutally murdered a co-worker at a Dallas area motel.

The spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) provided the following statement:

On Sept. 10, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Officers assisted the Dallas Police Department in the interrogation of Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, an illegal criminal alien from Cuba who allegedly beheaded a man in front of the victim’s spouse and child. Cobos-Martinez did the unthinkable and proceeded to kick the head around like a soccer ball.  ERO Dallas swiftly lodged an immigration detainer on the suspect.

Cobos-Martinez has a lengthy criminal history that includes arrests and convictions for grand theft motor vehicle, false imprisonment, carjacking, and indecency with child through sexual contact. He was most recently in ERO Dallas custody at the Bluebonnet Detention Center until he was released on an order of supervision on Jan. 13, 2025, because there were no removal flights to Cuba under the Biden administration.

Dallas police investigators say that Yordanis Cobos-Martinez got into an argument with 50-year-old Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah at the Downtown Suites motel on September 10. He reportedly became angry when Nagamallaiah, an Indian national, gave instructions to a coworker to translate instead of speaking directly to him. Cobos-Martinez then allegedly pulled a machete “from his person” and began hacking at the victim, according to information published from an arrest affidavit by Fox 4 Dallas.

I don’t want to see this man deported–I want to see him convicted and sentenced to death.

Nefarious Intentions?

On Thursday, Zero Hedge posted an article about an illegal alien stopped by deputies of the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office for speeding. Dorchester County is in South Carolina. When the deputies searched his car, they found three clear plastic bags with 8.6 gross grams of cocaine, ten firearms, and multiple magazines with various rounds of ammunition. That doesn’t sound like someone who was in the country only to do the jobs Americans won’t do.
