Yesterday Legal Insurrection posted an article about the court’s decision in Wisconsin to overturn the changes made to collective bargaining laws by the State Legislature. As you remember, we have gone through recalls of legislators and the governor of that state and the people supported them. Well, the court decided not to.
The article reports:
First it was Dane County Judge Sumi who interjected herself into the legislative process by striking down the collective bargaining reform law, only to be overturned by the State Supreme Court which rejected challenges to the process used to pass it
Now a different Dane County judge has struck the law down again (decision here), this time on the ground that state employees have a constitutional right to collectively bargain, and has reinstated the law as if the legislature never passed the reforms.
This is Governor Walker‘s statement regarding the decision:
The people of Wisconsin clearly spoke on June 5th. Now, they are ready to move on. Sadly a liberal activist judge in Dane County wants to go backwards and take away the lawmaking responsibilities of the legislature and the governor. We are confident that the state will ultimately prevail in the appeals process.”
He is right. It is just a shame that we have to fight this battle again and again. The voters have clearly stated their choice, and the state is recovering from a financial disaster. The judges decision needs to be reversed.
Below is the Google Map of the Anti-American protests. An interactive map with a narrative can be found at Google Maps. In case you haven’t been paying attention, this is not about a movie. It is unfortunate that these protests may be used to curtail American free speech to bring America into compliance with the Muslim definition of free speech included in Sharia Law. Under Sharia Law, nothing can be said that is negative toward Islam. Anything negative is regarded as slander, regardless of whether or not it is true.
Hot Air reported that the White House had asked YouTube to take down the offensive video. When the Christian cross was desecrated and called art, did Washington ask to close the art exhibit? Free speech is written into our Constitution. Admittedly, the film in question has been used as an excuse for bad behavior, but bad behavior is still the responsibility of those participating in it. Let’s not forget that.

The thing to remember as we watch the American flag being taken down and stomped on and the Al Qaeda flag hoisted is that Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood have the same goals–they only differ in exactly how to achieve them. Al Qaeda is impatient and wants to use violence. The Muslim Brotherhood is much more subtle, using propaganda and infiltration of governments (google the documents from the Holy Land Foundation trial to learn exactly what their plans for America are and how they intend to implement them). Both organizations seek a world-wide caliphate–they share that goal–and both are working toward that goal. As the Middle East erupts, we need to remember that.
Michael Ledeen is the Freedom Scholar at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. He is a highly regarded expert on Iran’s Green Movement and maintains close ties to opposition groups inside Iran. He posted an article at PJMedia yesterday that accurately describes what is happening in the Middle East.
He opens his article:
Killing Americans serves several purposes in the war being waged against us (we have yet to seriously engage against our known enemies): first, it’s what the war is all about. They want us dead or dominated. Second, it helps recruitment, which had dropped after the defeat of Iran, Syria, and al-Qaeda in Iraq. Morale had also dropped, and stories claiming that the top American in Libya had been raped before he was executed feeds the blood lust of jihadists, whose language and fantasies are rich with such images. Third, it enhances the power of the unseen moving hand. Fourth, it discourages our current and would-be friends and allies.
No serious person believes that an obscure movie shown to less than a dozen people many months ago was the “cause” of the simultaneous assaults in Cairo and Benghazi. Or that the assaults were unrelated, let alone spontaneous. Or that there was no state actor involved in the operation.
So why is the American press refusing to report this aspect of the story? Because the story behind the story is the total failure of President Obama’s outreach to terrorists.
Mr. Ledeen’s article concludes:
If we do not support revolution within Iran, we will get more of these attacks, and more dead Americans. In the end, we will fulfill Churchill’s prophecy to Chamberlain on the day after Munich: you thought you had to choose between dishonor and war. You chose dishonor, and you will have war. We may yet have time to choose honor — support those who have already risked their lives to defeat our enemies — and avoid the big war relentlessly engulfing us.
It would be nice if we could ignore what Iran is doing, but we do so at our own peril.
I have wondered why news reports keep referring to a video Muslims didn’t like rather than the date of 9/11. I think I have it figured out.
Today’s Washington Free Beacon provided the answer. A statement by Presidential Press Secretary Jay Carney gave me the clue:
CARNEY: We also need to understand that this is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, or the American people, but it is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be be reprehensible and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it, but this is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims.
This is very simple–if the protests are about the movie and not about American policy, there is no criticism of President Obama’s foreign policy.
The article also reports:
According to a page on the State Department’s website describing what an embassy is, an attack on an embassy is considered an attack on that country.
“Because an embassy represents a sovereign state, any attack on an embassy is considered an attack on the country it represents,” the page reads.
The logical twists and turns that are taken by the mainstream media to avoid the truth in this situation is amazing.
If you want the full story of what actually happened in Libya (caution: graphic pictures), I would recommend yesterday’s U.K. Daily Mail. Don’t look for the American media to tell the whole story.
One of the casualties of political correctness is honesty. We simply do not call things what they are for fear of causing offense or facing the consequences of what actually is.
Politico posted an article yesterday by Newt Gingrich commenting on recent events in the Middle East.
The article quotes Mr. Gingrich:
The president asserted we have to oppose “the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.”
Clinton reinforced his analysis when she said, “We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless act of violence.”
This concept of “senseless violence” is at the heart of the left’s refusal to confront the reality of radical Islamists.
These are not acts of senseless violence.
These are acts of war.
We can’t successfully deal with a situation until we realize what it is. One of the things pointed out in the article is the question of how this video clip reached Egypt and Libya. Does anyone actually believe that the film was responsible for these attacks? Have we forgotten the emphasis terrorists put on dates and the fact that the attacks occurred on September 11?
The article concludes:
It is no accident that the embassy in Cairo issued a groveling statement, apologizing to the haters for having inconvenienced them with American freedom of speech.
The embassy was simply following Clinton’s lead, set months earlier in her meetings with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The OIC has a long- term campaign to manipulate the U.S. government into defining any criticism or improper reference to Islam as unacceptable.
No one should be confused by this. As Andy McCarthy wrote yesterday, the Islamist definition of heresy would destroy American free speech.
The Obama administration is waging war on the Catholic Church while appeasing the most extreme elements of Islam.
This is the bizarre situation we now find ourselves in.
We need to remember–When America has a weak President, the world is a more dangerous place.
Investors.com posted an article today on QE3 and the impact it will have on the American economy. The article points out that the economic problems America is currently experiencing are not due to a lack of money–their fiscal.
The article reports:
Fed chief Ben Bernanke defends the QE program, claiming Fed studies showed it boosted GDP by 3% and led to 2 million new jobs.
Even if true, the basic arithmetic is irrefutable: The Fed‘s tab for the QE program is now over $3 trillion. And most of that new money went to buy government debt — not to “stimulate” the private sector.
The article points out that banks and companies are currently holding on to their money rather than spending or investing it. One reason for that is the uncertainty about future tax policy and future federal spending.
The article concludes:
We don’t mean to sound conspiratorial, but a major Fed action coming just before an election is highly suspect — particularly when the sitting president’s foe has said he would not rename Bernanke to his Fed post in January 2014, when his term in office expires.
The government’s addition of $1 trillion a year to our nation’s debt hangs over this economy like a dark cloud, keeping entrepreneurs and big businesses alike on the sideline. The “fiscal cliff” we’re about to go over will sock Americans — especially entrepreneurs — with a tax hike of almost $1 trillion. That’s why the economy’s dead — not insufficient Fed money printing.
Bad leadership has consequences.
Today’s Washington Free Beacon reports:
Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”
It really is a shame that Americans are not allowed to sue the government. The article reports that if this information is true, Ambassador Patterson failed to do her duty to protect American interests in Egypt. The American Embassy is considered U. S. territory, and Ms. Patterson’s job (and oath of office) is to protect that territory.
The article further reports:
Given that the siege of the Cairo embassy unfolded over many hours, the source wondered if new orders pertaining to the rules of engagement were ever issued.
Ambassador Patterson was in Washington D.C. during the attacks, according to reports.
“I cannot believe that over an eight hour period that nobody … in that chain of command did not ask those questions of their superiors,” the source said. “These protestors did not just appear and within 20 minutes climb the wall.”
A Marine spokesperson at the Pentagon denied the Free Beacon’s report in a statement to Fox News.
Of course he did. I think we need some new security people.
UPDATE:
Special Report on Fox News is reporting that this story is not true. I will post more after I find out who is telling the truth.
As we all recover from the shock of having the body of an America Ambassador dragged through the streets of Libya, we need to step back and take a look at what happened on September 11, 2012. First we need to realize that it happened on September 11, 2012. Second we need to note that the American Embassy in Libya was not protected in the same way that American Embassies overseas are usually protected.
Hot Air reported yesterday:
The consulate where the American ambassador to Libya was killed on Tuesday is an “interim facility” not protected by the contingent of Marines that safeguards embassies, POLITICO has learned…
A senior administration official Wednesday called the Benghazi consulate “an interim facility,” which the State Department began using “before the fall of Qadhafi.” It was staffed Tuesday by Libyan and State Department security officers. The consulate came under fire from heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades at about 10 p.m. local time on Tuesday. By the time the attack ended several hours later, four Americans were dead and three others had been injured.
The Benghazi consulate had “lock-and-key” security, not the same level of defenses as a formal embassy, an intelligence source told POLITICO. That means it had no bulletproof glass, reinforced doors or other features common to embassies. The intelligence source contrasted it with the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt – “a permanent facility, which is a lot easier to defend.” The Cairo embassy also was attacked Tuesday.
It gets worse. Michael Rubin posted an article at the Daily Caller explaining how demonstrations in Islamic countries work:
The idea that the riots were spontaneous shows detachment from the reality of the Middle East. Dozens of heavily armed and murderous Islamists sacking embassies are not flash mobs of teenagers converging on a mall food court. When I lived in pre-war Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Yemen, my students and colleagues often spoke of how they had been informed by government representatives where to board buses to attend “spontaneous” rallies to be held the following day.
He concludes:
The war on terrorism and, more specifically, the fight against Islamist radicalism, is an ideological battle. The United States, moderate Muslims, and those valuing freedom and liberty must triumph not only on the battlefield, but also in the classroom and on the airwaves. Alas, apologies and self-flagellation represent not a path to peace, but little more than preemptive surrender.
That is a lesson we need to learn very quickly.
Courtesy of CBS News yesterday:
“The world tells Israel: ‘Wait, there’s still time.’ And I say: ‘Wait for what? Wait until when?'” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. “Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don’t have a moral right to place a red light before Israel.”
A website called Twitchy posted a ‘tweet’ today from Anthea Butler, an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
The tweet:
Good Morning. How soon is Sam Bacile going to be in jail folks? I need him to go now. When Americans die because you are stupid…
I realize that I am not the most educated person in the world and maybe I shouldn’t question a college professor, but my first question is, “Did this woman raise any children?” Why is that question relevant? Because when you raise children, you learn some things. You learn that bad behavior is bad behavior and that there is no excuse for it. You learn that if you do not deal with bad behavior, it gets worse.
Sam Bacile (the person who made or is making a movie that made Muslims angry) is not responsible for the violence in Libya or Egypt. It is no coincidence that this violence occurred on September 11th. This is simply more bad behavior from the people who brought us 9/11 in 2001. When are we going to wake up and admit that we have to deal with the continuing Muslim violence or it will escalate? This is the first American Ambassador killed since 1979 (under Jimmy Carter oddly enough).
Yahoo News lists five ambassadors killed by terrorists:
—Adolph Dubs, in Afghanistan, 1979
—Francis E. Meloy Jr., in Lebanon, 1976
—Rodger P. Davies, in Cyprus, 1974
—Cleo A. Noel Jr., in Sudan, 1973
—John Gordon Mein, in Guatemala, 1968
Another lesson learned from motherhood–if there are no consequences to bad behavior, the behavior will continue. Don’t we have any mothers in our government who can figure that out?
The people in our embassy were not killed because Sam Bacile was stupid, they were killed because people in power are unwilling to protect Americans at home or abroad. Was anyone in the American Embassy armed? Did we let people die because we were afraid of the public relations fallout? Get over it. Muslims don’t hate us because of public relations, they hate us because we are free, successful, and generally unwilling to live under Sharia Law. No amount of public relations is going to change that.
Meanwhile, we need to pray for the families of the people lost yesterday.
Yesterday’s Navy Times posted a story about the tribute to veterans that took place at the Democratic National Convention. It seems that the patriotic display of military power taking place on the screen behind retired Adm. John Nathman, a former commander of Fleet Forces Command, as he spoke was of Russian ships. Oops.
The article reports:
“I was kind of in shock,” said Rob Barker, 38, a former electronics warfare technician who left the Navy in 2006. Having learned to visually identify foreign ships by their radars, Barker recognized the closest ship as the Kara-class cruiser Kerch.
“An immediate apology [from the committee] would be very nice,” Barker said. “Maybe acknowledge the fact that yes, they screwed up.”
The background — featured in the carefully choreographed hour leading up to the president’s Sept. 6 speech accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination — showed four ships with radar designs not used in the U.S. fleet.
A follow up article in the Navy Times today reports:
Democratic officials apologized Wednesday for mistakenly displaying an image of the Russian Navy during a tribute to America’s veterans at last week’s Democratic National Convention.
This is the text of the DNC statement:
“Due to vendor error, incorrect images appeared briefly on screen behind fifty-one veterans during the convention and the DNCC apologizes for this mistake,” the statement said. “This error should not distract from the words of Admiral Nathman and others who spoke to President Obama’s strong record on issues that impact those who have served our nation. We’re proud of the service and sacrifice of our veterans and military families, and while they were an important and active part our of convention, Mitt Romney failed to even mention them in his speech in Tampa.”
Notice that it was ‘ “vendor error.” They are not taking responsibility for the mistake. That is just too typical.
I live in Massachusetts. Because the planes that were involved in the September 11th attacks came out of Boston, many Massachusetts residents were affected. However, the majority of the casualties on September 11th were New Yorkers, and New York remembers.
The Plainview (NY) Patch posted a story this morning about a 9/11 Commemoration Service held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church yesterday. The first two pews at the front of the church had been left empty so that the Plainview firefighters could sit there. The firefighters came to mourn fallen comrades and to honor those lost on September 11th. Unfortunately, the service was delayed–the firefighters’ beepers went off as they arrived at the church, and they left to answer the call. The service began about a half-hour later when the firemen returned.
The article reports:
When it was over, the community and the firefighters stood outside the sanctuary, shook hands, exchanged words of thanks and went on their way.
Not 15 minutes later, distant sirens cut the stillness of the Plainview night.
They had another run.
The firemen were still doing their job, even as they mourned the loss of their comrades on September 11th.
The American Embassies in Egypt and Libya were attacked yesterday on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attack on America. The supposed cause of these attacks was a film clip shown on YouTube that was unflattering to Islam’s prophet Muhammad. Four people were killed, including the American Ambassador to Libya–the first American Ambassador to be killed overseas since 1979.
Stop and think about this for a minute. Four people are dead because a film showed something a group of Muslims found offensive.
Violence in response to violence is not generally a good idea, but what do we do now? We helped the revolution in Libya and we have given money to the new government of Egypt. This is the thanks we get. Al Qaeda and Muslim extremism is partially funded by the money Americans spend to put gasoline in their cars. There is an immediate response that will get some results and a long term response that will get permanent results.
A friend of mine recently lent me the book, The Arab Mind. In the opening chapters of the book, the author, Raphael Patan, talks about some of the roots of our current battle with radical Islam. The book points out that the Egyptians and Arabs saw the 1973 war between Egypt and Israel as a Muslim victory. This emboldened them, and the oil embargo and rapid rise in the price of oil followed. The new-found riches caused by the sharp spike in oil prices allowed Arab countries to buy anything they wanted to exert their power.
There is a two-fold way to end the Muslim crime-wave of the last forty years. The first step is to cut off all aid to Egypt and Libya. The second step will take a bit longer. America needs to develop its own energy resources–NOW! We need to build oil refineries, build the Keystone Pipeline, and drill offshore in America instead of paying Brazil to drill off their shore (we loaned them the money and they are selling the oil to China). If green energy is viable, it will develop naturally without taxpayer money. If the government stops over-regulating the energy business, America can be energy independent within five to ten years. American energy independence is the only answer to Muslim extremists.
Hugh Hewitt is my favorite radio talk show host. I listen to him on the Internet at Townhall.com. He is not on the radio in Massachusetts. He is a practicing lawyer and a law professor at Chapman University. I enjoy his show because of the way he approaches things–with a lawyer’s logical, factual presentation, but in a simple way that I can easily grasp. The following YouTube video was broadcast on his radio show on Monday. It sums up the election for me.
I posted this article a few years ago, and I apologize for repeating myself, but I am on the road today and will probably not be able to get to my computer to post anything. I think the article is appropriate for the day.

This is a picture of the Teardrop Memorial, Russia’s gift to the United States in memory of 911. The monument To the Struggle Against World Terrorism was dedicated on September 11, 2006, by President Clinton. It is located in Bayonne, New Jersey, at a place where the twin towers were visible. To read the entire story of the monument and how it came to rest there, please follow the link to 911monument.com. The website tells the story of what inspired the monument and how it came to be. Below is another picture of the monument. I stumbled on this monument in an article at the American Thinker and visited the memorial when I was in New Jersey attending my 45th high school reunion.

Today’s Jerusalem Post reported that three alleged members of Hezbollah were arrested in Mérida, Mexico, in the past few days. Bloomberg.com is also reporting the story.
One of the suspects, Rafic Mohammad Labboun Allaboun, was reportedly handed over to the United States on Sunday because he is a United States citizen.
The Jerusalem Post reports:
…The US citizen was carrying a false Belizean passport and was identified as Rafic Moha-mmad Labboun Allaboun.
Authorities arrested him following a series of investigations by US intelligence agencies that found that he forms part of a terror cell operating in central America, according to Mexican newspaper Reforma.
How easy would it have been for any one of these men to cross the border into the United States?
This is the link to the video of the tree that survived 9/11. I apologize for not embedding the video, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. It’s a short video, please watch it. Thank you.
Ohio is a swing state that Governor Romney needs to win in order to defeat President Obama in November. A group called Public Policy Polling predicts a win by President Obama in Ohio by 5 points, but when you look closely at the poll, the numbers don’t add up.
This article is based on two sources–a post at Hot Air by Ed Morrissey and a post at DaTechGuyBlog by Pete DaTechGuy.
Pete reminds us that women are more likely to vote for President Obama. The poll sampled 54% women and 46% men. The poll also sampled 41% Democrats, 37% Republicans, and 22% Independents. Ed Morrissey points out that the 37% Republicans matches the Republican 2010 turnout, but that the Democrat turnout in the 2010 midterm election was 36%–not 41%.
Pete also posted the following numbers:

Pete describes the problem with these numbers:
Now that’s kind of odd isn’t it? this crosstab suggest that you have a 42% of the people in the poll self identifying themselves as conservative in a poll that is 37% Republican, yet only 28% call themselves liberal? Are we to believe that ALL of republicans are Conservatives with some spill over to the middle or is it more likely that our liberal friends, like their fellows in the media don’t see their own biases and believe themselves moderate?
The bottom line here is simple. Anyone can lie with statistics (or polls). All you have to do is carefully choose the people you poll. The only poll that really matters is the one on election day when voters vote. Until then, we need to ignore a lot of what the media tells us is true. The important thing is that everyone get out and vote ONCE on election day. I believe that Governor Romney will win an honest election.
Dr. Barbara Bellar started out as a nun. She went on to become a Major in the Army, a Doctor, a Lawyer, and a small business entrepreneur. She is running for Illinois State Senate in District 18.
This is her website. The video below is the reason I would vote for her if I lived in Illinois. She totally understands Obamacare.
Ed Morrissey at Hot Air posted a story yesterday about one of the quickest position reversals in the history of American politics. Ever since Paul Ryan was chosen as the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate, we have been hearing about the plight of poor granny–destined to a future of inadequate vouchers to pay for care that she will not be able to afford. Oh, the horror of it all. Those evil vouchers. Well, not so fast.
President Obama promised, “And I will — I will never turn Medicare into a voucher.”
Hot Air reports:
But back in Washington, his Health and Human Services Department is launching a pilot program that would shift up to 2 million of the poorest and most-vulnerable seniors out of the federal Medicare program and into private health insurance plans overseen by the states.
The administration has accepted applications from 18 states to participate in the program, which would give states money to purchase managed-care plans for people who are either disabled or poor enough to qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. HHS approved the first state plan, one for Massachusetts, last month.
Paul Ryan’s vouchers were optional, President Obama’s are required.
Ed Morrissey points out that the plan may actually be a good plan–similar to the Medicare Advantage plan that Obamacare eliminated. The problem is, however, that the choice is taken out of the hands of the American citizen–not something we should encourage our government to do.
The article ends with an update:
Update: A couple of commenters object to my description of this as a “voucher” program — but that’s how Democrats describe Ryan’s plan, and that doesn’t have “vouchers,” either. It’s a premium-support plan in a federal exchange of insurance plans approved by Medicare for coverage. That’s what Medicare Advantage did too, and Obama raided it to pay for the Medicaid expansion in ObamaCare. This plan doesn’t even have the federal exchange that Ryan envisioned, but fifty different exchanges doling out federal dollars. Like I wrote, the plan and the experiment is worth trying, but it’s precisely the kind of push into private insurance that Obama swore the day earlier he’d never do … and he’s doing it with the poorest seniors with only an opt-out in some states rather than the opt-in that Ryan’s plan provided. I’ll put quote marks on “voucher” in the headline, but this mechanism only differs from Ryan’s in that the exchanges get managed by the states rather than Medicare.
No wonder people don’t trust politicians.
On Tuesday, Frank Gaffney posted an article in the Washington Times about the treatment of Israel by the Obama Administration.
The article begins by reminding us:
In October 2001, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon issued a prophetic warning: “Do not repeat the dreadful mistake of 1938, when enlightened European democracies decided to sacrifice Czechoslovakia for a ‘convenient temporary solution.’ ” He declared: “Israel will not be Czechoslovakia.”
Mr. Gaffney compares the statements of the Obama Administration that indicate Israel is on its own to the statements made by western nations in 1938, which Hitler took as a green light to invade the nation of Czechoslovakia. The Obama Administration does not seem to notice that Iran is closely watching the statements the administration is making regarding Israel.
The article reminds us:
Even more troubling has been the cumulative effect of Obama policies toward the Middle East that are helping transform large swaths of the region into a festering Islamist sore, prone to jihad — most immediately against Israel and, inevitably, against the United States. In particular, Mr. Obama’s determination to legitimize, empower and enrich the government of Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi adds materially to the danger confronting the Jewish state and American interests.
The legitimization will reach new heights later this month when Mr. Morsi gets the red-carpet treatment in New York and Washington. The empowering included not just demands conveyed by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in July that the Egyptian military surrender power to the Brotherhood-dominated presidency and legislature. It also apparently entails U.S. acquiescence to Mr. Morsi’s moves to remilitarize the Sinai in violation of the Camp David Accords. The enriching piece involved an unconditional, lump-sum payment earlier this year, over bipartisan congressional objections, and is reportedly to be followed by the incipient transfer of a further $1 billion.
Predictably, as with the sellout of Czechoslovakia in the 1930s, what such concessions will produce is an emboldening of freedom’s enemies. That will not be good for its friends — here or abroad.
We can sit and watch as Egypt remilitarizes the Sinai Peninsula or we can choose to develop a backbone and cut off any aid to Egypt until it removes its troops and weapons from the area. Unfortunately, I think under President Obama, we will sell out Israel just as Europe sold out Czechoslovakia. Selling out Israel may bring us a temporary period of something that looks like peace, but it will not bring us peace.
This man has my vote!

This is Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown.
Breitbart.com is reporting today that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has stated that the changes that President Obama made to the work requirements in the welfare reform act passed during the Clinton administration are illegal.
The article reports:
In its Sept. 4 letter, the GAO found that Health and Human Services (HHS) should have formally submitted a letter of its intent to make the changes to Congress and the Comptroller General before any waivers can be legally issued.
The letter also said that the GAO had not determined if HHS had the legal right to even make such waivers available. The GAO is basically saying that the Obama administration is breaking the law with its waivers.
But, according to a review of the shocking news of the GAO’s determination, neither CNN, nor CBS, nor ABC have bothered to report the story.
It’s stories like these that show the need for the alternative media.
President Obama has stated that the changes in the waivers were made at the request of Republican Governors, but those governors have denied that they requested a change, stating that they only asked for clarification.
The real question here is whether or not Congress is willing to stand up to the President and uphold the Constitution.
