Your Tax Dollars At Work

On Tuesday, The U.K. Daily Mail reported the following:

Since the fall of Afghanistan, the U.S. has forked over funds to groups under the brutal Taliban regime to the tune of $2.35 billion.

That’s according to a new report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), released to the public on Tuesday.

Another $1.7 billion ‘remained available for possible disbursement’ at the time of the report, dated July 30.

Why are we giving money to people who hate us? Can’t they hate us for free?

In May 2023, U.S. News reported:

The Taliban’s return to power has affected all citizens. In December 2022, for example, the government reinstituted public floggings and executions. But Afghan women, in particular, have seen decades of hard-earned rights stripped away during less than two years of Taliban rule. Though the Taliban initially promised to uphold women’s and minority rights, they have instead imposed strict restrictions. The most recent blow to women’s rights came in April, when women were banned from working for the United Nations, further limiting their participation in the workforce and day-to-day life.

The article at U.S. News includes a timeline of how the Taliban has taken away women’s rights since they took control. Why are we sending these people money (that we don’t have)?

The article at The U.K. Mail concludes:

UN experts say 20 years of progress for women and girls were undone with the takeover of the Taliban in 2021. Women have now largely been banned from attending high school and driving or working outside the home.

Sopko [John Sopko, head of SIGAR (Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction)] noted in April that in addition to the $2.35 billion, another $3.5 billion is slated to come in to Afghanistan through an international fund.

‘I don’t trust the Taliban as far as you can throw them,’ Sopko told the committee. ‘The information we’re getting — again, not from the State Department who isn’t talking to us or USAID … is that the Taliban are already diverting funds.’

‘I haven’t seen a starving Taliban fighter on TV, they seem to be fat dumb and happy. I see starving Afghan children on TV.’

‘If the purpose is to help the Afghan people we have to have effective oversight,’ Sopko said, blaming an ‘over-reliance’ on international agencies he said have been ‘horrible’ about providing his agency with information.

It would be interesting to know who is responsible for the reconstruction of Afghanistan. It would also be interesting to know why we are giving the country that kind of money as they are eliminating the rights of women? Do we care about women’s rights overseas?

Another Reason To Remove The United Nations From Lower Manhattan

Frankly all the United Nations has done for years is make bad decisions, snarl traffic in lower Manhattan, and provide an excuse for diplomats to avoid paying their tickets for double parking. Well, they are getting worse.

Townhall posted an article today about another bad decision by the United Nations.

The article reports:

As Americans prepared to celebrate our nation’s founding and the God-given rights that are protected by the US Constitution, China’s illegal and outrageous crackdown in Hong Kong officially escalated last week. As expected, the rubber-stamp communist “legislature” in Beijing passed a “security” law that effectively cripples the ‘one country, two systems’ arrangement to which China is bound by treaty until at least 2047. Pro-freedom activists have been rounded up and arrested, with concerns swirling that at least some show trials will take place on the Chinese mainland. What the regime is doing is patently illegal under international law. It is an abuse of human rights and a brazen affront to human liberty. And yet, the hopelessly corrupt “Human Rights” Council at the United Nations voted to bestow its blessing on the Communist government’s anti-freedom power grab. They didn’t stay neutral, mind you. They explicitly endorsed the abuse:

…Among the HRC member nations giving China the thumbs-up are Cuba, Iran, North Korea, “Palestine,” Syria, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. Yes, each of those counties is represented on the UN’s human rights body. Why isn’t the United States colored gold on the map above, given the government’s harsh public condemnations of these abuses? Because, quite rightly, the Trump administration pulled the US out of this farcical commission two years ago. I’ll remind you that the UN’s committee on women’s rights added…Iran last year. It’s all so ludicrous. When the HRC isn’t busy doing Communist China’s bidding, it spends much of its time condemning Israel for sport. And this disgusting Beijing lackeyism on the Hong Kong matter doesn’t come in a vacuum; it arrives in the context of ongoing and egregious human rights violations elsewhere in China:

Please follow the link above to read the rest of the story.

Even if you accept the premise that the United Nations was founded with good intentions and not as a future vehicle for one-world government, they have obviously lost their way.

Just for the record, the preamble to the United Nations Charter includes the following:

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED

    • to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and
    • to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
    • to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and
    • to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

Their ruling on Hong Kong is in violation of a treaty and of international law. It is time for the United Nations to go away.

Respecting The Culture Of The Country You Live In

On Thursday, Townhall.com posted an article about the recent arrest of three doctors in Michigan for performing female genital mutilation (FGM) surgeries on young girls.

The article reports:

A Michigan mosque allegedly paid for young girls to receive female genital mutilation (FGM) procedures. This information came from a lawyer who represents the two children of Dr. Jumana Nagarwala, who was arrested in April and charged with performing FGM surgeries on two young girls from Minnesota. Nagarwala, along with Dr. Fakhruddin Attar, and his wife Farida Attar, have all been arrested and charged with crimes related to FGM procedures. Dr. Attar allegedly permitted Nagarwala to use his clinic, and Mrs. Attar allegedly helped to calm the victims during the procedures. Nagarwala may have as many as 100 victims.

…The defendants intend to claim a “religious freedom” defense.

In Virginia, an imam came under fire after he said that sometimes FGM was the “honorable thing” to do. He later apologized.

Under U.S. law, FGM is illegal.

Note that the defendants want to use ‘religious freedom’ as a defense. One of the goals of radical Islam is to bring ‘infidels’ under Sharia Law. FGM is part of Sharia Law. The fact that these doctors were engaging in this practice is one reason to encourage states to pass laws banning Sharia Law. Banning Sharia Law on the state level will provide a further bulwark against the instituting of Sharia Law in America. Sharia Law and the U.S. Constitution are incompatible. They cannot co-exist. Those who support Sharia Law have no intention of coexisting–their goal is the supremacy of Sharia Law. We have dealt with the conflict between religious law and Constitutional Law before. This was done when the Mormons were required to give up polygamy in order for Utah to become a state. The Sharia Law aspect of Islam is not religious–it is political and those who support it are not entitled to ignore the laws of America.

The British Papers Report What The American Media Chooses To Ignore

There is an old adage, “You are known by the company you keep.” Generally speaking, the idea is that if you hang around with someone with questionable ideas, you probably share some of those ideas. Well, the American media seems to have overlooked this concept in their reporting on Hillary Clinton. We’ve all seen a list of the close friends of the Clintons who have either served time in jail, been indicted, and met with unfortunate accidents. That list speaks for itself, but there is some disturbing information about a close associate of Hillary Clinton posted in the U.K. Mail  today. As far as I know, the only American news outlet that is carrying this story is The New York Post.

Evidently Huma Abedin was assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs until as late as 2008.  The U.K. Mail describes the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs as “a radical Muslim publication that opposed women’s rights and blamed the US for 9/11.” Ms. Abedin is listed on the masthead of the publication beginning in 2002. Her mother was the editor.

The magazine espoused ideas that I don’t believe American women would appreciate:

Shortly after Clinton gave her seminal ‘women’s rights are human rights,’ speech in Beijing in 1995, the journal published a series of articles hitting back at the speech.

A 1996 piece titled ‘Women’s rights are Islamic rights’, that appeared to claim that women who wore revealing clothes were inviting rape.

The author wrote that revealing clothes ‘directly translates into unwanted results of sexual promiscuity and irresponsibility and indirectly promote violence against women.’

It also states that single or working moms and gay couples with children should not be classed as a family.

‘A conjugal family established through a marriage contract between a man and a woman, and extended through procreation is the only definition of family a Muslim can accept,’ the author, a Saudi official with the Muslim World League – which funds the journal.

At best, it seems as if Ms. Abedin might not be in tune with Mrs. Clinton’s ideas on women’s rights. The magazine also supports female genital mutilation, which unfortunately is now happening in Muslim communities in America despite the fact that it is illegal.

A few years ago Michele Bachmann attempted to get the story of Huma Abedin’s background out, but was shouted down by people who either do not understand or choose to ignore the concept of civilization jihad. Government Exhibit 003-0085 3:04-CR-240-G in U.S. v Holy Land Foundation, et al. explains the tactics being used by the Muslim Brotherhood in America to undermine our Constitution. The placement of Huma Abedin in a high position with a Presidential candidate is an example of civilization jihad.

This is the story behind the document:

August of 2004, an alert Maryland Transportation Authority Police officer observed a woman wearing traditional Islamic garb videotaping the support structures of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ismail Elbarasse and detained on an outstanding material witness war-rant issued in Chicago, Illinois, in connection with fundraising for Hamas.

The FBI’s Washington Field Office subsequently executed a search warrant on Elbarasse’s residence in Annandale, Virginia. In the basement of his home, a hidden sub-basement was found. The contents of the sub-basement proved to be the archives of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America.

Among the 80 banker-boxes worth of documents discovered there were papers that confirmed what investigators and counterterrorism experts had long suspected and contended about the myriad Muslim-American groups in the United States: nearly all of them are controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Therefore, in accordance with the supremacist Islamic doctrine known as shariah, such groups are hostile to this country, its Constitution and freedoms. The documents make clear the groups’ sole objectives are to implement Islamic law in America in furtherance of re-establishing the global caliphate.

One of the most important of these documents made public to date was entered into evidence during the Holy Land Foundation trial. It amounted to the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic plan for the United States and was entitled, “An Explanatory Memorandum: On the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” The Explanatory Memorandum was written in 1991 by a member of the Board of Directors for the Muslim Brotherhood in North America and senior Hamas leader named Mohamed Akram. It had been approved by the Brotherhood’s Shura Council and Organizational Conference and was meant for internal review by the Brothers’ leadership in Egypt. It was certainly not intended for public consumption, particularly in the targeted society: the United States.

Huma Abedin has a family connection to the Muslim Brotherhood and the radical agenda associated with Sharia Law. This should not be ignored. She has been Hillary Clinton’s closest aide for a number of years. The fact that the American media has downplayed this connection and that Hillary Clinton is running for President is frightening. Say what you will about Donald Trump, there is no one in his group of advisors with connections to a group that wants to destroy the American republic. A vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for your children and grandchildren to grow up in an America that you won’t recognize.

This Is What We Are Up Against

This article is not a joke. I found it in a number of places. The source I have chosen to use is World News Daily Report.

World News Daily Report posted an article on June 7 that included the following:

Riyadh | In an unprecedented ruling, a panel of Saudi scientists has concluded that women are actually mammals, granting them the same rights as other mammal species such as camels, dromedaries and even goats.

The verdict, which fell just hours before the International Women’s Day, is considered “historic” by some experts and advocacy groups for women’s rights.

“This is a great leap forward for women’s rights in Saudi Arabia,” concludes Jane Austin, spokeswoman for the Women’s Liberation Action Network. “It may seem too little, too late, but it is truly a milestone event for all women in the region,” she says, visibly excited. “From now on, women will be considered as members of the mammal class, whereas before women shared the legal status of an object, similar to that of a home appliance,” she admits.

It is good to know that if I were ever to travel to Saudi Arabia, I would not be valued on the same level as a home appliance.

The article further reports:

The recent verdict could completely upset all laws currently enforced in Saudi Arabia believes Jillian Birch, spokeswoman at Amnesty International.

“This verdict shows the incredible progress the women’s rights movement has made in the past 50 years,” she admitted in a press conference this morning. “Finally, women will no longer be simply considered as objects without souls, but as full-fledged mammals, with the same rights as other animals of their species such as camels and goats,” she said, visibly emotional. “Women are still far from being considered 100% human, but their condition will improve drastically with this decision,” she firmly believes.

The fact that women “are still far from being considered 100% human” tells you all you need to know.

As the percentage of Muslims increases in America, there will be more pressure put on American lawmakers to institute Sharia Law. Sharia Law is NOT compatible with the U.S. Constitution ( which our lawmakers have taken an oath to uphold). Sharia Law is not some harmless thing that can be put in place to make Muslims feel more at home. Sharia Law includes honor killings, female genital mutilation, discrimination against women, killing infidels, killing homosexuals, and having multiple wives–just to name a few items that might be a problem.

The article concludes:

“It could create significant turmoil in the current legal state of affairs and the judiciary system of Saudi Arabia,” says political analyst specialized in the Middle East, Anthony Bochstein. “If before women had the same rights as a chair or a table and were seen more as individual property, they now have an equivalent status to certain animal species, and thus must receive, at the very least, feeding, watering and be conferred a minimum of attention and respect, which was not the case previously,” he explains.

According to the expert panel that ruled on the matter, women are still devoid of a soul but have been shown to possess qualities common to the mammal species, which would explain their ability to procreate and breastfeed, as well as why they are equipped with seven cervical vertebrae, a characteristic unique to the mammal species.

Thanks a lot.

This Is Not Something America Should Be Supporting In Any Way

Chief Justice Shinwani from the Supreme Court ...

I probably would not qualify as a feminist by today’s standards. I believe women should be able to do any job they are qualified for and should be paid equally for their work, but the current definition of feminism has left that concept far behind. However, I have very strong ideas about how women should be treated. Some of those ideas come from spending part of my childhood in the American south, where chivalry and manners can still be found. Thus, I was very disturbed when I read the following article.

The Toronto Star posted an article today about recent comments by President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan.

The article reports:

In remarks made Tuesday, Karzai backed a “code of conduct” written by the Ulema Council of 150 leading Muslim clerics. It could dramatically restrict women’s daily lives and threaten a return to the dark days of Taliban rule.

“Men are fundamental and women are secondary,” the council said in its statement released last week, and later published on Karzai’s own website.

…It says women should not travel without a male guardian or mingle with men in public places such as schools, offices or markets. It also allows wife-beating in the case of a “sharia-compliant” reason, although it rejects forced marriage and the bartering of women to settle disputes.

In Kabul, Karzai said that the council had not put “any limitations” on women, and that it was only stating “the sharia law of all Muslims and all Afghans.” But some Muslim scholars have disputed the clerics’ strict interpretation.

This was what Afghanistan was like under the Taliban. I remember the joy when people took out their radios and danced when the American troops arrived. Have the people of Afghanistan forgotten their own recent past?

The article further reports:

Before the 2001 invasion, Afghan women were confined to their homes and forced to wear burkas. Girls were not allowed to go to school, and females could not get medical attention from male doctors.

Since then women have made large strides, returning to work and school, starting businesses and taking part in the political process. But their lives are frequently at risk, and have become more difficult as security has frayed in recent months.

“Sixty-five per cent of the population is under the age of 25, and young women are not prepared to take it any more,” says Toronto author and journalist Sally Armstrong, who has written on Afghan women’s rights. “They are brave, and they march in the street. The message is ‘Karzai must go.’”

Karzai has been backtracking on women’s rights in recent years, as Western countries began to roll up their military operations. By 2014, most will have left the country, although they have pledged to continue support for its development.

President Karzai is hedging his bets because foreign forces are leaving his country, and he is faced with making friends with the Taliban or being literally left hanging. The mistake made early in our dealings with Afghanistan was allowing Sharia Law to be written into the country’s constitution. Until their constitution changes, Afghanistan will never truly be a free country.
