Disappointed Again

He was totally accurate in his prediction.

On Tuesday, The Blaze reported the following:

…McCarthy (House Speaker Kevin McCarthy)  told reporters Monday night that he plans to pass a short-term continuing resolution in September to fund government until December. He also expressed his plan as if it were some sort of theocratical exercise in efficiency, not as if we are in the war to save our civilization and basic constitutional rights. There was no promise whatsoever to refuse a penny of funding for these harmful activities. In other words, the same song and dance we’ve seen for years.

That’s not what he was elected to do. As Americans suffer the ravages of inflation due to runaway government spending, the elected Republicans in the House need to move to curtail that spending. Where is the promise of the twelve appropriations bills that are supposed to be part of the budget process?

The article notes:

McCarthy already betrayed us with the debt ceiling deal, as we face the biggest debt bomb ever. That debt has increased by $1.2 trillion since his deal, the quickest in American history, and the Biden administration plans to service trillions more in debt in the coming months. Canceling the August recess to properly prosecute a budget fight is the only way to atone for that sin.

Some of us tried to warn about this after the midterms. It was precisely because of these moments why we wanted a better speaker. But Trump used his political clout to pressure the heroic members seeking change rather than supporting them. As such, he owns McCarthy. So why is Trump himself not warning McCarthy not to fund a penny of the DOJ come October 1 absent a provision defunding the prosecutions against him? Where is the sense of urgency? Clearly, we cannot wait until Jan. 2025.

If the Republicans keep acting like Democrats, there is no point in voting for Republicans.

Impeach Biden Now!!!

The impeachment of Joe Biden is under serious consideration by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. This is long overdue. Never in my lifetime, have I witnessed any president act in so many ways that are destructive to our country. I believe history will judge Biden as our worst president. The question that remains is whether the Republican leadership has the political will to proceed with impeachment. House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy, has made statements recently that an impeachment investigation should proceed. Senate minority leader, RINO Mitch McConnell has voiced opposition. Not surprising since McConnell is a lifelong career politician whose net worth is estimated at $35 million. Does he also have something to hide? Good question.

There are several reasons why impeachment of Joe Biden is overdue. First, the overwhelming information gathered by the Republican chaired oversight committees that Biden participated, and most likely coordinated, the influence peddling scheme with his son Hunter. Bank records show that the Biden family received over $20 million over several years and the only thing they gave in return was access to the Biden when he was vice president and now as president. It is a federal crime to receive money from foreign governments without registering as a foreign agent. Biden, when he was vice president, even bragged about forcing Ukraine to fire their head prosecutor who was investigating corruption, including Hunter. The corrupt Department of Justice (DOJ), under Biden, has stonewalled the investigation and delayed the investigation of Hunter until the statute of limitations expired. It should be noted that this influence peddling scheme involved countries which are considered unfriendly, if not downright hostile, to the United States.

The second reason for impeachment is Biden’s failure to enforce the immigration laws of this country as required by his oath of office. The Executive branch of government is required by the Constitution to enforce the federal laws of our country. The wide open borders he is allowing threaten to destroy our country. He must be held accountable or the oath of office requiring all presidents to enforce established law becomes meaningless.

Third, the Biden regime has abused the role of the DOJ and FBI in ways that are unheard of in our country and more indicative of what occurs in dictatorships. The indictments of President Trump are not only unprecedented; they threaten the integrity of our political system. Biden is using these agencies to remove a political rival similar to what has been a common practice in so called “banana republics”. This cannot be allowed to stand. Biden’s regime has also used social media to curtail our freedom of speech as guaranteed in the First Amendment. A glaring example, is the blocking of access to the information about Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop which clearly interfered with the re-election of Donald Trump. If we fail to take immediate, corrective action on these matters, then the corrupt Biden regime will have won, and our ability to validly select presidents in this country will be over. This cannot be allowed to happen.

Remember how readily the leftist Democrats initiated two bogus impeachment actions against President Trump? We conservatives must be willing to fight fire with fire. This is not the time to take the high road. The left must be dealt a severe defeat in their effort to change our country or they will only be emboldened to try ever increasingly destructive ways to win elections. We are at the proverbial Rubicon and must have the courage to take definitive action to defend the integrity of our Constitution. What can we do? Contact our Senators and Representatives and tell them we want Biden impeached NOW!!!

Comments On The Debt Ceiling Deal

One of the people in Washington that I trust to analyze financial things accurately is Larry Kudlow. On Tuesday, he posted an article at The Daily Caller explaining his views on the Debt Ceiling Deal.

The article reports:

Former Director of the National Economic Council Larry Kudlow said on Tuesday during his Fox Business program that the debt ceiling deal negotiated by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was “a fiscal win” because it contains many conservative priorities, including regulatory provisions and work requirements for welfare.

McCarthy released the text of the Fiscal Responsibility Act on Sunday evening, which increases the debt ceiling through Jan. 1, 2025, taking it past the 2024 presidential election. “Let’s not forget there are no tax hikes, period, full stop,” Kudlow said. “So, I think this is a political win for Republicans and conservatives. It’s a fiscal win. It is a free-market capitalism win. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Save America, pass the bill.”

I understand some conservatives’ reaction to the bill, but do they really believe that they can get anything better? The bill has to get through the Senate and be signed by the President. Compromise is the only way that is going to happen.

The article notes:

The law freezes discretionary spending on non-defense budgetary items at Fiscal Year 2022 levels, adds reforms to permitting for energy projects and includes new work requirements for some welfare programs. Many of those provisions were in  the Limit, Save, Grow Act, which passed the House of Representatives by a 217-215 vote on April 26.

The reforms to permitting for energy projects were promised to Senator Manchin by the Democrats if he voted for the Inflation Reduction Act. After the vote, the Democrats reneged on that promise.

The bill also has some other good things:

“Student loan payments will be restarted to the tune of $5 billion a month and Joe Biden’s massive regulatory assault on energy and business will be stopped with a pay-go provision that says any executive branch regulatory costs must be offset by regulatory cost reduction,” Kudlow said. “By the way, Biden’s modern socialism regulatory assault has cost something in the neighborhood of $1.5 trillion.”

It’s not a perfect bill, but it is a good bill.

When Will Washington Politicians Decide To Honor The Constitution?

The Biden administration has done an end run around the U.S. Constitution since coming into office. Executive orders have decimated our energy independence, and various agencies have interfered is things as minute as the appliances we cook on. We have long passed the point where our laws are made by legislators–they are now made by regulatory agencies that are unelected and unaccountable. Now the President is discussing ignoring the role of Congress as ‘keepers of the purse’ and threatening to invoke the Fourteenth Amendment to raise the debt ceiling without the consent of Congress.

On Tuesday, NewsMax reported:

President Joe Biden confirmed that he is floating the idea of utilizing the 14th Amendment to work around congressional gridlock on raising the debt ceiling, The Hill reported.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Biden invoked legal scholar Laurence Tribe’s recent editorial in The New York Times, where he backed the theory, which claims the president can unilaterally raise the limit under certain circumstances.

“I have been considering the 14th Amendment, and the man I have enormous respect for, Larry Tribe … thinks that it would be legitimate,” Biden said, citing the article.

The article concludes:

But House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., scoffed at the idea outside the Capitol on Tuesday.

“Really think about this,” McCarthy said. “If you’re the leader … and you’re going to go to the 14th amendment to look at something like that — I would think you’re kind of a failure of working with people across sides of the aisle or working with your own party to get something done.”

The Republican-controlled House has proposed its Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023 to solve the debt crisis. Alternatively, the Democratic-led Senate released an economic report condemning the proposal.

Republicans are seeking to make significant inroads to slash government spending in their proposal — a move that Democrats said should take a backseat to pass a “clean” debt ceiling measure.

The un-Republicans in the House before the 2022 mid-terms worked with the Democrats to pass a spending bill that would effectively tie the hands of the Congress that was elected in 2022. Technically this may have been legal, but it was definitely not the right thing to do. Now the Republicans in the House are trying to undo the damage those un-Republicans did. The American people want spending cuts. If the Republicans don’t deliver them, they don’t deserve to be re-elected next year.
