This Would Be Comical If It Were Not So Sad

According to AI, this is a partial list of recent riots in Paris, France:

  • Yellow Vest Movement (Gilets Jaunes) (2018–2019): Months of recurring Saturday protests and riots in Paris centered on fuel taxes and cost-of-living issues, featuring extensive property damage, vehicle burnings, and clashes around the Champs-Élysées.
  • Pension Reform Protests & Unrest (2023): Widespread strikes and violent street demonstrations erupted across Paris after the government pushed through controversial retirement age reforms.
  • Suburban / Nahel M. Riots (June–July 2023): Severe nationwide urban unrest and riots following the police shooting of a teenager in Nanterre, with intense rioting, looting, and clashes extending into Paris and its suburbs.
  • Cost-of-Living, Fuel, and Lycée Protests (October 2026): Major cross-generational demonstrations uniting students, trade unions, and yellow vest elements escalated into severe riots, arson, and looting in Paris and other French cities, leading to hundreds of arrests in the capital region alone.

As we know, AI is only as good as the information it is given. Paris has had a riot problem for a while. Notice that there is no mention of the Palestinian flags seen in the current riots in Paris.

On Sunday, The Conservative Treehouse posted an article about the speech French President Emmanuel Macron gave addressing the riots.

The article reports:

Following days of riots, violence, arson, buildings destroyed and mass looting, French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a national address to the people of France. Remarkably, in the beginning of his remarks Macron says no one in the French government understands what is happening, but he is demanding an investigation.

A few paragraphs into the prepared transcript and Macron says high fuel prices driven by President Trump’s war against Iran, “a war we had nothing to do with,” is certainly the cause of the protests that have mysteriously turned violent for some unknown reason. Macron further notes those protests are righteous, justified and he agrees with them.

At some point, Europe needs to understand that they are within range of the missiles Iran would use to deploy its nuclear bombs. Europe also needs to wake up to the dangers of unlimited immigration by people who do not share your culture or your values, although it may be too late for them to undo the damage they have done to themselves.
