On Thursday, LifeSite posted an article about some recent statements by Dr. John Clauser, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist.

The article reports:

A Nobel Prize-winning physicist has criticized alarmist climate predictions and said that he does not believe that there is a “climate crisis.”

During his speech at the “Quantum Korea 2023” event, Dr. John Clauser said, “I don’t believe there is a climate crisis,” according to a report by Seoul Economic Daily that has been translated into English by the CO2 Coalition

The article continues:

Clauser added that “key processes are exaggerated and misunderstood by approximately 200 times” and accused the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of spreading misinformation.

In his keynote speech addressed to young Korean scientists and students, Clauser said that “Misinformation is being spread by those with political and opportunistic motives.”

The article concludes:

“There is, however, a very real problem with providing a decent standard of living to the world’s large population and an associated energy crisis. The latter is being unnecessarily exacerbated by what, in my opinion, is incorrect climate science.”

The renowned physicist has criticized President Joe Biden’s climate policies and the fact that the 2021 Nobel Prize was awarded for work done on computer models predicting “climate change.” Clauser has criticized the faulty models used by the IPCC and others that he stresses ignore important factors.

Clauser has developed climate models that emphasize the impact of cumulus clouds reflecting sunlight, which cover around half of the Earth on average. These clouds reflect around 90% of the sunlight back into space. Sunlight that reaches the earth in areas without clouds evaporates seawater which, in turn, produces cumulus clouds.

“It produces clouds at an increasingly abundant rate when the cloud-cover fraction is too small and the temperature is too high and vice versa when the fraction is too large,” according to the CO2 Coalition.

These clouds, therefore, act as “a very powerful input-power thermostat” that stabilizes the earth’s surface temperature.

Temperature changes caused by the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are “nearly two orders of magnitude smaller” than the impact of the cumulus clouds, rendering it negligible by comparison, Clauser argues.

On March 30, 2016, I posted an article which included the following quoted from an article in Investor’s Business Daily:

If they were honest, the climate alarmists would admit that they are not working feverishly to hold down global temperatures — they would acknowledge that they are instead consumed with the goal of holding down capitalism and establishing a global welfare state.

Have doubts? Then listen to the words of former United Nations climate official Ottmar Edenhofer:

“One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole,” said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.

So what is the goal of environmental policy?

“We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy,” said Edenhofer.

Any questions?

Targeting Political Enemies?

On Saturday, The Conservative Review reported on an FBI raid on the home of Mark Houck, a Catholic author, lecturer, radio host, and co-founder of The King’s Men – a club for men “to unite and build up other men in the mold of leader, protector, and provider through education, formation, healing, and action.”

The article reports:

Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, told LifeSiteNews, “For ‘weeks and weeks,’ a ‘pro-abortion protester’ would speak to the boy saying ‘crude … inappropriate and disgusting things,’ such as ‘you’re dad’s a fag,’ and other statements that were too vulgar for her to convey.”

Houck’s wife claimed that Love got into “the son’s personal space” and refused to stop saying “crude… inappropriate and disgusting” comments at the father and son.

Mark Houck “shoved him away from his child, and the guy fell back” and he hit the ground. Houck allegedly pushed the pro-abortion man to the ground outside of the Planned Parenthood clinic a second time. Love – a 72-year-old volunteer escort at the abortion clinic – reportedly suffered injuries that required medical attention.

Police were called, but Houck was reportedly not charged because there was a “lack of evidence” of an assault.

Ryan-Marie Houck claimed that Love “tried to sue Mark,” but the case was thrown out of court this summer.

Around 7:05 a.m. on Friday, the Houck’s home was reportedly raided by 25 to 30 FBI agents and 15 government vehicles surrounded their house.

Ryan-Marie Houck said the FBI agents had their guns drawn and “they started pounding on the door and yelling for us to open it.”

Mark Houck allegedly told the FBI agents, “Please, I’m going to open the door, but, please, my children are in the home. I have seven babies in the house.”

When the front door was opened, Ryan-Marie said, “They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house.”

“The kids were all just screaming,” she said. “It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

Houck was arrested and taken away.

The fact that Houck was not charged or arrested and the case was thrown out of court this past summer is suspicious. It sounds as if the person who was shoved knew who to contact to escalate the incident.

The Daily Wire posted an article today on the events, but added some interesting details and denials:

A spokesperson with the Philadelphia office of the FBI said SWAT was not involved with the arrest of Houck.

“There are inaccurate claims being made regarding the arrest of Mark Houck. No SWAT Team or SWAT operators were involved,” a spokesperson told Fox News. “FBI agents knocked on Mr. Houck’s front door, identified themselves as FBI agents and asked him to exit the residence. He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment.”

Notably, a senior FBI source told Fox News there might have been 15-20 agents at the scene who came to the family’s door with guns out and at the ready. The source claimed that the guns were never pointed at Houck or his family.

If there are 15-20 people coming toward my house with guns, I really don’t care whether or not they are a SWAT Team–they are pretty intimidating. This is another example of the Justice Department harassing people whose politics disagree with those of the President.

Good News For Those Of Us Who Want To Protect Life

On Monday, Lifesite News reported that more than 180 congressional leaders have sent a letter to Republican leadership stating their support for the Hyde Amendment.

The article reports:

More than 180 U.S. congressional lawmakers sent a letter to Republican congressional leadership to support their commitment to maintain the Hyde Amendment and other protections for the preborn in government spending legislation.

“Thank you for the consistent pro-life leadership you have shown even as House and Senate Democrats have demonstrated their plan to use Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Appropriations legislation to strip out longstanding pro-life protections that have been in place for decades,” wrote the congressmen to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy of California. “We appreciate your unwavering commitment to ensuring that these pro-life protections are retained in any FY2022 final appropriations bill. We will vote against any federal funding bill that weakens or eliminates them.”

The Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal  funds to cover the cost of abortions.

The article concludes:

In initial spending legislation for 2022, Democrats intentionally removed long-standing protections for the preborn in their bid to fund the government. The Hyde Amendment, the most well-known of these safeguards, which prohibits direct taxpayer funding for most abortions, was replaced with pro-abortion provisions to advance the practice. The congressmen highlight the Hyde Amendment’s critical impact, citing a study that estimates that this Amendment alone is responsible for having saved at least 2.4 million lives.

Additionally, the congressmen write how Joe Biden as a U.S. Senator once told a constituent that “those of us who are opposed to abortion should not be compelled to pay for them.”

In early December, both the U.S. House and the Senate passed a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through February 18, 2022. The 181 congressmen insist that in order for any appropriations legislation to pass, all traditional and long-standing protections for preborn life must be retained.

You don’t have “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” if someone murders you before you are born. I think it’s time to realize that the culture of easy abortion is a contradiction of the ideals that America was founded on.

Two Very Different Solutions To A Problem

Lifesite News reported yesterday that United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, has announced the creation of a fund for addressing the global coronavirus pandemic. Isn’t that nice? He is asking nations to contribute the equivalent of at least 10 percent of the annual income of the entire planet to a massive “human-centered, innovative and coordinated stimulus package” that would be administered at the international level. The United Nations is so well managed that we are going to give them more money? I don’t think so.

The article reports:

Guterres also wants 100 billion USD for the World Health Organization, whose president has been blamed for helping to cause the coronavirus pandemic by repeating in January the Chinese government’s false claim that COVID-19 is not transmissible to humans.

He also wants the same organization to build an “interconnected Global Health Emergency System for data, workforce, and supplies.”

The same WHO that told us that the coronavirus was not transmitted person-to-person and that China has done an excellent job of handling the virus? Again, I don’t think so.

There is, however, another suggestion that I think puts the responsibility where it belongs. Breitbart reported yesterday that Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) believes that China should consider waiving some of that debt given the communist nation’s role in the spread of the COVID-19/coronavirus.

The article reports:

During an interview that aired on Huntsville, AL radio WVNN’s “The Jeff Poor Show,” when asked, Blackburn explained ways to hold China accountable for the global pandemic, noting her effort to officially recognize China’s role and the debtor relationship the United States has with China.

“Indeed there is,” Blackburn replied. “One of the things is my Senate Resolution 553, which it expresses the sense of the Senate — that we know this came from Wuhan, China, and that they hid the information and were not transparent, that they blocked the World Health Organization and the CDC from coming into help. They tried to blame it on the U.S. military. And we hold them accountable.”

For the losses accrued from the pandemic, Blackburn called on China to forgive a portion of the debt owed to them.

“I will tell you I think we need to look at the fact that China owns over a trillion dollars of our debt,” she said. “They like investing in us. Why do they like that? Because we are a safe debt for them — a safe place for them to put their money. And knowing that they have made a global pandemic worse than it ever would have been because of their action — they should waive some of our debt. They have caused us a tremendous amount of loss of life, loss of businesses, suffering, inconvenience, shutting down our economy.”

Another component the Tennessee Republican argued for on the accountability front was to bring elements of manufacturing back from China to the United States.

“These are all things that we should take into consideration — bringing our manufacturing back, not only our pharmaceutical manufacturing — I was working with one of my colleagues today,” Blackburn explained. “There are other things we can bring back and put America back in the manufacturing business.”

For those who want to investigate the role of Chinese propaganda in the spread of the coronavirus, today The Center for Security Policy posted a timeline of events surrounding the beginning and spread of the coronavirus. It’s a rather long timeline, but it illustrates the role that the tyrannical Chinese state played in spreading the virus by misstating information and lying about the numbers of people in China impacted by it. The fact that the global migration that occurs around the Chinese New Year went on as usual without any government warnings has a lot to do with the worldwide pandemic we are currently seeing. The fact that the World Health Organization was sharing Chinese propaganda rather than valid health information is also a concern.

There needs to be a financial penalty placed on China for their behavior during the outbreak of the coronavirus. Had the Chinese acted quickly to contain the virus and accepted the help offered to them by other countries, the virus might be a thing of the past by now.
