A Step Toward Peace?

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has been excluded from a suggested peace conference between Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

On Sunday, CNBC reported:

  • The Wall Street Journal reported Vladimir Putin had reportedly suggested a summit between himself, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping for a deal to end the Ukraine war.
  • The summit is not confirmed, but if it takes place will not involve Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
  • The report comes amid mounting tensions between Ukraine and the U.S., its largest military backer.

At some point we need to acknowledge that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not want the war to end and that the American left does not want the war to end. According to AI, as of March 31, 2026, the U.S. Congress has made available $195 billion in total spending related to the war in Ukraine, according to the Council on Foreign Relations and the U.S. Special Inspector General for Operation Atlantic Resolve. [1, 2] There has never been an auditing of that spending. It is extremely possible that a good portion of that money has found its way into American political campaign coffers and another portion has gone into Zelenskyy’s pockets. The recent bombing of the Russian refineries was an indication that Zelenskyy was trying to influence the midterm elections in America to weaken President Trump. Zelenskyy is terrified that the money spigot is going to be turned off.

The article at CNBC concludes:

The Telegraph reported on Friday that Musk “approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine,” and both had a hand in imposing the restrictions.

Additionally, Zelenskyy told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday that intelligence sharing between the two countries had been interrupted, but later “de-blocked.”

Rubio on Monday denied that Washington had suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine, contradicting Zelenskyy’s claim that the flow of information had been briefly interrupted, Reuters reported.

Speaking to reporters in Uzbekistan, Rubio insisted there had been no pause and said Zelenskyy should instead focus on ending the war, marking another public disagreement between Washington and Kyiv amid deteriorating relations.

On Sunday, The Conservative Treehouse noted:

Again, there are multiple dynamics unfolding inside this story. However, as to the central component of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy complaining about hampered access to Starlink and/or Starshield, Secretary of State Marco Rubio sets the record straight.

Ukraine has never had access to the U.S. military version of Starshield; providing that level of guidance access would be akin to the United States being in direct conflict with Russia using a proprietary U.S. military system. This is not our circus and not our war; there is no need for U.S. military conflict with Russia.

Remember the history. Zelenskyy was installed by the deep state. His words cannot be trusted.

How Is The Plan Actually Working?

On Monday, Fox News posted an article about California Governor Gavin Newsome’s plan to end homelessness in California.

The article reports:

As Newsom took over following the 2003 San Francisco mayoral election, the then-mayor-elect said that December he intended to “aggressively” make ending homelessness in his city his administration’s top priority.

The plan involved a 10-year strategy to end chronic homelessness with “tens of millions” of federal dollars in funding to create 550 “supportive housing” units for the troubled homeless, SFGate reported at the time.

Fast-forward to December of this year and the announcement of that strategy is now two decades old. San Francisco, along with the rest of California, is far from solving the problem.

In fact, the growing homeless population has become a central issue in California’s political debate.

“Twenty years ago, then-Mayor Newsom laid out his 10-year plan to end homelessness in San Francisco,” California GOP chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson told Fox News Digital. “Not only does the problem remain unsolved today, but in the time since, he has taken his failures statewide, where communities across California are grappling with the devastating homeless crisis.”

The article notes:

Newsom was elected governor in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, with 2023 marking his fifth year in office.

Newsom took some heat earlier this year after San Francisco cleared out its homeless encampments ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s summit with President Biden in the city.

“I know folks are saying, ‘Oh they’re just cleaning up this place because all those fancy leaders are coming to town,'” Newsom said at that time. “That’s true, because it’s true – but it’s also true for months and months and months before APEC [Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit], we’ve been having conversations.”

I don’t claim to have a solution to homelessness, but it is interesting that the streets of San Francisco could be cleaned up for a state visit.

Making Friends With Our Enemies And Betraying Our Friends

On June 19, msn.com posted the following:

Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised eyebrows Monday, telling reporters the US “does not support Taiwan independence” after meeting in Beijing with officials including Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Blinken’s statement ruffled the feathers of many Republicans in Congress, who viewed the statement – and the secretary’s inability to re-establish military-to-military communications – as an inappropriate kowtow to America’s greatest adversary.

“Blinken flew to Communist China to appease Xi Jinping and state the Biden administration does not support Taiwan’s independence,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said on Twitter. “Why won’t this administration stand up to bullies and stand for freedom?”

The Taiwan issue is among the most contentious in the US-China relationship, with Xi making it his No. 1 priority to “reunite” Taiwan with China — though the island about 100 miles off the country’s southeastern coast has never actually been part of it.

Rep. Ben Cline (R-Va.) tweeted that Blinken’s statement was a “dangerous display of weakness towards our adversaries on the world stage.”

Follow the money. I realize that a lot of the allegations against the Biden family have not yet been proven, but there are very few countries in the world that could support the lifestyle that the Bidens enjoy.

The article continues:

Washington’s “One China policy,” which has been critical for maintaining peace in East Asia since it took effect in the late 1970s, holds that the US acknowledges – but does not necessarily agree with – Beijing’s opinion that Taiwan is its sovereign territory.

Instead, the policy holds that the US considers Taiwan’s sovereignty status unsettled, and successive presidential administrations have held that the US favors no change to the “status quo” of relations between China and Taiwan.

However, the US also allows for its military to come to Taiwan’s defense should Beijing attempt to take Taiwan by force, something both the Trump and Biden administrations stated repeatedly as US-China tensions began heating up in 2016.

The article concludes:

Members of the bipartisan House Select Subcommittee on Countering the Chinese Communist Party last month issued a “ten for Taiwan” report laying out policy strategies lawmakers should consider to push back against China.

In part, it says that the US should pass legislation that would state its official position in a more straight-forward manner.

“[T]he United States, alongside its allies and partners, should publicly oppose any attempts by the CCP to resolve the status of Taiwan’s sovereignty by intentionally misusing, misinterpreting, and misleading others on the underlying purpose of … the United States’ One China Policy,” the subcommittee said in its report.

“The United States and its allies need to strengthen and better coordinate collective planning for how they will deter or would respond diplomatically and economically to a crisis over Taiwan.”

Maintaining the freedom of Taiwan is considerably more important than fighting for Ukraine.
