It Really Is Up To The Voters

On Monday, The Washington Free Beacon posted an article about Adam Hamawy, who is running for Congress from New Jersey. Dr. Hamawy is the son of Egyptian migrants.

The article notes:

Victims and survivors of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing reacted with shock and horror at the possibility—if not likelihood—that a close associate of the “Blind Sheikh” terrorist mastermind who inspired the attack may soon be a member of Congress.

Adam Hamawy, a Princeton plastic surgeon, is a frontrunner in a crowded Democratic primary to replace retiring Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D.) in New Jersey’s deep-blue 12th Congressional District—despite his years-long friendship with Omar Abdel-Rahman, the Muslim extremist cleric who was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 1993 bombing.

In 1995 one of the charges against Omar Abdel-Rahman was conspiring to assassinate Egyptian President Hasni Mubarak. He was also charged with solicitation to attack a U.S. military installation, and conspiracy to conduct bombings. Dr. Hamawy testified as a defense witness in that trial.

The article notes:

Hamawy’s Democratic opponents in the race have so far treated the scandal gingerly—though there are signs that is beginning to change as the race heads into the final two weeks before the primary, which will almost certainly crown the winner of the general election.

“You are known by the company you keep. In the mid 1990s when Adam Hamawy indicated he was an interpreter for [the Blind Sheikh], who was convicted of acts against this country, he sat in a ride and developed amnesia about what transpired on that very long road trip,” Plainfield, N.J., mayor Adrian Mapp (D.) told InsiderNJ Thursday.

“You can’t describe Adam Hamawy as a progressive,” Mapp went on. “He is what you would call a radical extremist. Individuals associating with clearly anti-American views like the convicted Sheikh call into question people like Dr. Hamawy.”

Reps for Hamawy did not respond to requests for comment from the Free Beacon.

Dr. Hamawy is endorsed by Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Ro Khanna.

The Company You Keep

Unless something earthshaking happens, Zohran Mamdani will be the next Mayor of New York City. That is a frightening thought on many levels. His lack of experience is a minor problem compared to some of his affiliations.

On Saturday, Red State reported:

As Zohran Mamdani has inched closer to becoming the next mayor of New York City, he’s gotten more and more comfortable dropping whatever little facade he created over the preceding months. Democrats, who will make up the vast majority of voters come November’s election, don’t seem to mind, though. In fact, enthusiasm for Mamdani is growing with every dangerously radical thing that leaves his mouth.

– Siraj Wahhaj openly declares that he wants to abolish democracy in favour of Islamic law: ”Islam is better than democracy. Allah will cause Islam to prevail over every kind of system.”

New York, you are about to elect someone who will destroy your city and your way of life. You might want to rethink that.

Why We Need To Be Careful Who We Allow To Settle In America

Yesterday Andrew McCarthy posted an article at The National Review about the death of Omar Abdel Rahman, also known as the“Blind Sheikh.” The Blind Sheikh died in a federal prison Friday night. He was in prison for plotting the bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. Andrew McCarthy was the lawyer who prosecuted the case against him.

The Blind Sheikh was an active terrorist before he came to America. Unfortunately the people who allowed him to immigrate to America failed to notice that his name was on the terrorist watch list. He came to America from Egypt, where he issued the fatwa relied upon by the jihadists who murdered Egyptian president Anwar al-Sadat at a military parade in 1981. He was acquitted when he was tried in Egypt for that murder, relying on a defense that he was merely carrying out Islamic Law–under Islamic Law, Sadat deserved to die because he had signed a peace treaty with Israel. This is what we are up against. The Blind Sheikh in America trained, encouraged, and planned various operations with jihadists. While living in America, he was part of a conspiracy to murder Hosni Mubarak during one of Mubarak’s visits to the U.N.

The article concludes:

Omar Abdel Rahman was physically incapable of doing anything that would be useful to a terrorist organization: He couldn’t build a bomb, hijack a plane, or carry out an assassination. The only thing he could do for a terrorist organization was lead it. His life is a testament to the centrality of sharia-supremacist ideology to modern jihadism and to the broader Islamist movement in which it thrives. His death reminds us why we must fight everything he represented.

Omar Abdel Rahman was in America legally. Before he was arrested and tried, he was actively planning jihad against Americans. His story is one reason we need to be very careful about who we invite to live in America.
