When The Predator Becomes The Prey

On Saturday, Townhall posted an article which might explain President Trump’s decision to attack Iran on Friday night.

The article reports:

Now we have more information on why the strikes happened today, from Salem Radio host and CNN contributor Scott Jennings. Jennings is reporting that intelligence indicated Iran was planning strikes on U.S. military and civilian targets in the region, which would have resulted in mass casualties.

The article quotes a CNN report:

A senior administration official said today that they believed Iran was preparing to potentially launch preemptive missile strikes, a factor that influenced President Donald Trump’s decision to initiate military action.

“We had indicators that they intended to use it potentially, preemptively, but if not, if not simultaneous, against with any actions against them, immediately against us,” the senior administration official added. “And the president decided he was not going to sit back and allow America’s forces in the region to absorb attacks from conventional missiles.”

“We are not going to be held hostage by them, and we are not going to let them hit us first, because it would have substantially increased the risk to our troops in the region and to our allies,” the official added.

However, a source familiar with the intelligence contradicted that assertion to CNN, saying that there were no indications that the Iranians planned to strike US forces or assets first — unless they were attacked by Israel or the US.

Given the choice between having civilians and American military killed by a regime that murdered thousands of its own people in cold blood and ending that regime, I choose ending that regime. Iran has been at war with America since 1979, when they began chanting “Death to America.” We have ignored those chants for too long. We have allowed the women of Iran to live as non-persons for a long time. Where are the feminists?

I commend President Trump for taking much-needed action. I pray that the people of Iran will finally be free.

Just a note–much of the military hardware Iran was using to protect itself came from Russia and China. The same was true for Venezuela. Are Russia and China not giving their allies their best technology, or are they both not as advanced as we thought? It’s too late now, but if I were aligned with either Russia or China, I would be asking them for better air defenses!

The Heart Of The Matter

The SAVE America Act has passed the House of Representatives. Now it’s the Senate’s turn to pass a bill that more than 80 percent of Americans agree with. But somehow, nothing is happening. One of the main talking points against the bill is that the bill will disenfranchise Americans, because there is a requirement to prove citizenship. Most Americans have Social Security cards. You need to prove U.S. citizenship or legal immigration status to obtain a Social Security card. A birth certificate is obtainable through the city records of the place you were born. Another talking point is that the majority of women change their name when they get married. That issue is easily solved by presenting a birth certificate and a marriage certificate. A marriage certificate can be obtained at the city hall of the place where you were married. Most women can figure this out.

On February 16th, The Western Journal posted an article about the discussion on CNN NewsNight about the SAVE America Act.

The article reports:

Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings triggered “CNN NewsNight” panelists Charles Blow and Alencia Johnson Wednesday by suggesting Democrats thought black voters were “too dumb” to obtain voter IDs.

The House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voter registration and photo ID for voting, on Wednesday by a 216-213 vote.

After Johnson claimed that the legislation was part of a pattern of “racism” by President Donald Trump, Jennings challenged her to explain how the bill would strip voting rights from citizens.

…Jennings pressed Johnson repeatedly how the legislation would strip voting rights from racial minorities, with Johnson finally claiming that voter ID was a form of a poll tax, which was prohibited by the 24th Amendment, which was ratified in 1964.

“Does it — does it concern you that you’re making all these claims, you’ve yet to lay out how it’s hurting anyone, but 76 percent of black voters think we should show an ID to vote, 80 percent of Hispanic voters, 83 percent of the American people?” Jennings asked.

The article concludes:

Jennings didn’t back down, questioning if Phillip thought certain portions of the population were too dumb to figure out how to navigate voting in an election.

“Listen, this — all week long, all week long, I have heard Democrats with the same argument,” he said, with Phillip responding, “So, Scott, why don’t you actually respond to the substance of what I’m saying, as opposed to making this about something that it’s not? It’s not just about voter ID. It’s also about who has access to —”

“You’re saying married women, black voters and rural people are too stupid to figure out how to register to vote?” Jennings responded, adding, “Are you saying they can’t figure out how to vote?”

The simple fact is that the Democrats opposing the SAVE America Act don’t want to help people navigate the requirements in the act–they simply want talking points.

Did He Really Say That?

On Monday, The Daily Caller posted an article about some of the recent comments made by New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

The article reports:

Republican strategist Scott Jennings showed receipts after calling out CNN host Omar Jiminez and Democratic strategist Maria Cardona on Sunday, saying they were ignoring the race-based tax plan that Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani of New York City placed in his platform.

Mamdani called for increasing taxes on predominantly white neighborhoods of New York during his campaign to win the Democratic Party’s nomination to challenge Democratic Mayor Eric Adams of New York City. Jennings accused Jiminez, who described the 2020 riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, as “mostly peaceful,” of using a “playbook” similar to that of former Vice President Kamala Harris while later dropping receipts to disprove his claim.

…Cardona chimed in as Jiminez was disputing Jennings’ statements during the exchange.

“He literally wrote it in a statement, Omar! He literally wrote it down! Are you letting him get off the hook? Why?” an incredulous Jennings asked Jiminez, who responded, “No, I’m saying I am saying that he said that, but not on the basis of race specifically. I’m not saying he didn’t say that.”

“He did say that!” Jennings shot back.

The article concludes:

Jennings posted a screenshot from Mamdani’s campaign site targeting “whiter neighborhoods” on X Sunday after the exchange with Jiminez.

“Feel the need to show the receipts here,” Jennings said, adding screenshots of headlines from the Jerusalem Post and New York Post about Mamdani’s desire to target certain neighborhoods.

It is going to be interesting to see if the people of New York City elect him. If former governor Cuomo, Eric Adams, and Curtis Sliwa all stay in the race, there is a good chance that Mamdani will win.

Who Is Supposed To Run The Country?

On Friday, The Gateway Pundit posted an article about the current Constitutional crisis the political left believes we are in.

The article reports:

Scott Jennings, the lone voice of reason on CNN, recently pointed out that activist judges who are being ‘shopped’ by Democrats are bringing the United States towards a real Constitutional crisis as they continually interfere with what should be the president’s job.

Jennings goes so far as to suggest that if this continues, that Congress may have to intervene.

He also says, correctly, that what these judges are doing is a political ploy. It’s a direct effort to try to run out the clock on Trump’s presidency, just like they did with lawfare during Trump’s first term.

Scott Jennings stated:

Now, I do think that these individual district court judges that are being selectively shocked by people who oppose the president, trying to issue nationwide injunctions and stop the president from governing, I think that’s a real problem. I mean, it’s a constitutional crisis, in my opinion, for these individual district court judges to try to tie up Donald Trump. I mean, it’s obvious what they’re trying to do, which is to run out the clock until he’s no longer in office.”

“It’s sort of what the Democrats did the first time around,” Jennings continued. “They don’t want him to be able to govern.

Somehow these courts were not issuing nationwide injunctions when President Obama created DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or when President Biden forgave student loans he had no power to forgive.

It is a disgrace that both the Republicans in Congress and the Supreme Court seem unable to find a way to stop this absurdity. If the district courts are not put back in their lane quickly, this will happen every time a President they do not approve of is elected. That is not the government our Founding Fathers created.

Some Common Sense After The Election

On November 6th, Townhall posted an article about some of the media analysis of the 2024 election. Some of the most helpful and intelligent commentary came from Scott Jennings on CNN.

The article reports:

As Townhall has been covering this election cycle, Scott Jennings has been a breath of fresh air and at times the only voice of reason during CNN panels that otherwise would go completely off the rails. He’s been ramping up the warnings as to how the tactics of the Harris-Walz campaign just weren’t working, and sure enough that proved to be true. Early on Wednesday morning, Jennings tried to offer his fellow panelists some insight, if only they’d take such a free gift.

When Anderson Cooper asked Jennings his thoughts, Jennings reminded that Trump won “a huge victory” and “a mandate,” but also addressed it in the context of how Trump “has an opportunity here to try to unite the country” after such a win. Trump indeed won the popular vote, the first time a Republican has done so since 2004, which CNN’s Harry Enten had also been warning viewers about as the election was approaching. “This is a big deal, this isn’t backing into the office, this is a mandate to do what you said you were going to do,” Jennings continued, as he mentioned Trump’s priorities centered on the economy, crime, and immigration.

“I’m interpreting the results tonight as the revenge of just the regular ‘ol working class, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to, they’re not ‘garbage,’ they’re not Nazis, they’re just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids and they feel like they have been told to just shut up, when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives,” Jennings continued, as he reminded his panelists of the ways in which President Joe Biden and the Harris-Walz ticket have insulted their political opponents. One could hear a pin drop as such points were made.

Please follow the link to the article to read the rest of Scott Jennings’ comments. I am amazed that he is on CNN.
