Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day was chosen because it is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. In 2005, the United Nations designated January 27th as Remembrance Day in honor of the six million Jews and others who died in Germany’s concentration camps.
