Why Boys Playing On Girls’ Teams Is A Bad Idea

On Monday, Todd Stearns posted an article about a recent incident at a school basketball game.

The article reports:

A girls basketball game was called at halftime after three young female players were injured by a giant male player who was sporting facial hair. Watch above.

KIPP Academy’s girl’s basketball team roster includes a six-foot-tall boy who needs to shave. School officials declined to formally confirm the player’s gender identity.

Note to the school officials–most high school girls do not have an abundance of facial hair.

The article continues:

Collegiate Charter decided to forfeit the game after just 16 minutes of competition. At least three female players were injured by the young man so the coach decided to call it a day.

“So, he felt that his girls were getting injured, basically, all game,” athletic director Kyle Pelczar told local news reporters. “He has a playoff game on Monday, so he didn’t want to have any more of his girls go down.”

It is possible to have six-foot girls in high school. However, the muscle structure on a six-foot high school boy and a six-foot high school girl is generally very different. We can expect to see more sports injuries as more schools allow boy to play in girls sports. Eventually the boys will begin to take all of the scholarships and incentives away from the girls and we will be back to where we were before Title IX was passed.
