{"id":9,"date":"2008-08-10T21:15:10","date_gmt":"2008-08-10T21:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=9"},"modified":"2008-08-10T21:15:10","modified_gmt":"2008-08-10T21:15:10","slug":"just_a_short_word_about_grandm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=9","title":{"rendered":"Just a Short Word About Grandmothers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">The following is taken from the bulletin of St. Anthony&#8217;s Mission Chapel on <st1:Street><st1:address>Gault Road<\/st1:address><\/st1:Street> in <st1:place><st1:City>West Wareham<\/st1:City>, <st1:State>Massachusetts<\/st1:State><\/st1:place>.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">The following is a reflection on grandmothers written by a third-grader.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">What is a Grandmother?<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">A grandmother is a lady who has no children of her own.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>She likes other people&#8217;s.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>A grandfather is a man grandmother.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">Grandmothers don&#8217;t have to do anything except be there.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They are old, so they shouldn&#8217;t play hard or run.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is enough if they drive us to the market and have a lot of dimes ready.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They never say &#8220;hurry up.&#8221;<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Usually grandmothers are fat, but not too fat to tie your shoes.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They wear glasses and funny underwear.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They can take their teeth out.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Grandmothers don&#8217;t have to be smart, they only have to answer questions like, &#8220;Why isn&#8217;t God married?&#8221; and &#8220;How come dogs chase cats?&#8221;<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When they read to us, they don&#8217;t skip lines or mind if we ask for the same story over again.<\/font><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">&nbsp;<\/font><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Times New Roman\" color=\"#000000\" size=\"3\">Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don&#8217;t have a TV, because they are the only grown-ups who have time.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following is taken from the bulletin of St. Anthony&#8217;s Mission Chapel on Gault Road in West Wareham, Massachusetts. &nbsp; The following is a reflection on grandmothers written by a third-grader. &nbsp; What is a Grandmother?
