{"id":743,"date":"2009-04-19T19:53:39","date_gmt":"2009-04-19T19:53:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=743"},"modified":"2009-04-19T19:53:39","modified_gmt":"2009-04-19T19:53:39","slug":"openness_is_nice_but_in_wartim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=743","title":{"rendered":"Openness Is Nice, But In Wartime?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2009\/apr\/19\/wh-releasing-memos-didnt-hurt-national-security\/\">Washington Times<\/a>&nbsp;ran an editorial today concerning the release of the CIA interrogation memo.&nbsp; The White House is claiming that releasing these memos in no way effected national security.<\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<blockquote dir=\"ltr\" style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The definition of &#8216;top secret&#8217; is information which, if revealed, would cause grave harm to U.S. security,&#8221; former CIA Director Michael V. Hayden said on &#8220;Fox News Sunday.&#8221; &#8220;There&#8217;s a difference of leaks, and rumors, and rumors of this and that, and going out there and defining in an absolutely clear way what the limits are.&#8221; <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We are still fighting the war that these memos involve.&nbsp; Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, pointed out today on Fox that he felt no desire to be transparent to Al Qaeda.&nbsp; The release of these memos is a political move carried out with no regard for the safety of our country or our military.&nbsp; We want our soldiers and military people to fight the war on terror&#8211;not have to consult the ACLU or a lawyer before they make a move.&nbsp; We saw what happens when politicians run a war with Vietnam, we do not need to make that same mistake again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Washington Times&nbsp;ran an editorial today concerning the release of the CIA interrogation memo.&nbsp; The White House is claiming that releasing these memos in no way effected national security.
