That is also the reason there is abuse of the H-1B program.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Breitbart<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n The government would gain by supercharging the inflow of migrants just as millions of American voters lose their jobs and careers to artificial intelligence, says Silicon Valley investor and AI advocate Jason Calacanis.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe best interest of America today, when it comes to expansion, is very simple \u2026 Recruit the smartest and most driven 1-3m people on the planet every year,\u201d Calacanis\u00a0wrote<\/a> May 25 on X, without mentioning the impact on the prosperity of ordinary Americans.<\/strong><\/p>\n The government should also import many additional foreign workers for healthcare and other white-collar jobs, he said. \u201cAllow for a modest number of worker visas based on our acute needs \u2026 This is probably 100-500k [migants] a year on average,\u201d he wrote. He did not explain whether the term \u201cour acute needs\u201d refers to the needs of government, investors, or citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n Americans will accept the bigger inflow of legalized migrants if the current inflow of illegals is kept at zero, he suggested: \u201cof course cut off all illegal immigration to accomplish this.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The article notes:<\/p>\n Calacanis describes himself as a moderate<\/a> among his peers. His demand for both government support of job-killing AI and government support for more American-replacing migration<\/a> is echoed by other green-eyeshade investors<\/a>\u00a0who are shrugging off the rising public anger about stalled wages, declining jobs, high housing costs, and chaotic diversity.<\/strong><\/p>\n However, Calacanis ignores the many polls that show rising public alarm at AI<\/a>, mass migration<\/a>, and white-collar visa programs<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n In contrast, President Donald Trump and his deputies see those polls and argue that AI and migration are alternative strategies for economic growth. \u201cWe\u2019re going to need robots\u2026 to make our economy run because we do not have enough people,\u201d Trump told Breitbart News\u00a0in August 2025,\u00a0adding<\/a>:<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u2019ll probably add to [the existing workforce] through robotically\u2026 Then, somebody is going to have to make the robots. The whole thing, it feeds on itself.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWhen you guys graduate from this university, I don\u2019t want you competing against a low-wage foreigner for your first job,\u201d Vice President JD Vance told students<\/a> in April, adding:<\/strong><\/p>\n I want a company to have to pay you a fair wage for a fair day\u2019s work. It\u2019s common sense.
