I don’t mean to be picky, but if people are firing weapons at each other, how is it a ceasefire?<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump said Thursday that Iranian attacking forces were \u201ccompletely destroyed\u201d after Tehran fired missiles, drones, and fast attack boats at three U.S. Navy destroyers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, prompting U.S. Central Command to carry out retaliatory \u201cself-defense strikes\u201d on Iranian military targets and port areas as the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran again came under strain.<\/strong><\/p>\n

U.S. Central Command said<\/a> its forces intercepted what it described as \u201cunprovoked Iranian attacks\u201d as the USS Truxtun<\/em>, USS Rafael Peralta<\/em>, and USS Mason<\/em> transited the Strait of Hormuz toward the Gulf of Oman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOur three Destroyers, with their wonderful Crews, will now rejoin our Naval Blockade, which is truly a \u2018Wall of Steel,\u2019\u201d he wrote.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump also warned Tehran that if it does not quickly agree to the broader framework deal now under discussion, the United States would respond with far more severe military force in the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA normal Country would have allowed these Destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal Country,\u201d Trump wrote, blasting Tehran\u2019s leadership as \u201cLUNATICS,\u201d who \u201cwould\u201d use a nuclear weapon \u201cwithout question\u201d if given the opportunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBut they\u2019ll never have that opportunity and, just like we knocked them out again today, we\u2019ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don\u2019t get their Deal signed, FAST!\u201d Trump warned.<\/strong><\/p>\n
