U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced that she had ordered her office to close the investigation while the Federal Reserve&#8217;s Inspector General reviewed the matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8220;I have directed my office to close our investigation as the IG undertakes this inquiry. \u00a0Note well, however, that I will not hesitate to restart a criminal investigation should the facts warrant doing so,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/USAttyPirro\/status\/2047679907312939264?s=20\">she posted on X<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Pirro&#8217;s office had investigated the renovation of the Federal Reserve building in Washington, D.C., which has been plagued by delays and cost overruns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In January, Senator Tillis stated that he would oppose the confirmation of any nominee for the Fed\u2014including the upcoming Fed Chair vacancy\u2014until this legal matter is fully resolved&#8211;meaning that he wanted the investigation halted. I hope that the Inspector General and the Department of Justice will continue the investigation after the new Federal Reserve Chairman is confirmed.
