{"id":63572,"date":"2026-04-16T17:27:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T21:27:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=63572"},"modified":"2026-04-16T17:27:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T21:27:18","slug":"a-good-dog-doing-his-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=63572","title":{"rendered":"A Good Dog Doing His Job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/04\/14\/police-dog-pub-helps-seize-75000-illicit-cash-atlanta-airport\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about a police dog named Pub.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>A police dog named \u201cPub\u201d helped two federal agents sniff out two massive cash seizures amounting to nearly $75,000 in undeclared cash in the first quarter of 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Pub, a Belgian Malinois trained to find currency and firearms, <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/us-news\/star-cash-sniffing-dog-pub-helps-border-patrol-agents-bust-75k-in-illicit-currency-at-atlanta-airport\/?utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">alerted<\/a> Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents to a hidden stash of $44,432 in February and another pile worth $30,417 in March.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The Belgian Malinois found 20 percent of the total undeclared cash discovered at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in the first quarter of the year. The larger sum was bound for Qatar, while the second was due for El Salvador.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Agents reportedly said they gave the suspects with undeclared cash \u201cmultiple opportunities\u201d to confess before searching their belongings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cCurrency enforcement operations focus on detecting unreported and bulk currency smuggling, which has been shown to be proceeds of illicit activity, such as from narcotics and human smuggling, and fraud and other financial crimes that prey on our nation\u2019s most vulnerable citizens,\u201d CBP said in a release.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I did not realize that dogs could be trained to sniff out currency! Notice that the money was headed to Qatar and El Salvador.
