Invoking the Islamic\u00a0doctrine of\u00a0hijra<\/em><\/a>, he urged New Yorkers to\u00a0\u201cstand alongside the stranger\u201d\u00a0in permanent, unqualified solidarity, elevating prophetic example above constitutional sovereignty.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIslam\u00a0[is]\u00a0a\u00a0religion built upon a narrative of migration,\u201d Mamdani\u00a0declared. \u201cThe story of the Hijra reminds us that Prophet Muhammad\u00a0\u2026\u00a0was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina.\u201d\u00a0He then universalized the narrative into a binding civic command:\u00a0\u201cThe obligation is upon us all\u00a0\u2026\u00a0to look out for the stranger.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have no problem looking out for the stranger who came to America legally and has committed any crimes.<\/p>\n

The article notes:<\/p>\n

In this framework, federal enforcement is\u00a0not\u00a0lawful\u00a0authority\u00a0but cruelty. Immigration officers become\u00a0\u201cmasked agents, paid by our own tax dollars,\u201d\u00a0who\u00a0\u201cviolate the Constitution and visit terror upon our neighbors.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf these are not attacks upon the stranger among us, what is?\u201d Mamdani asked. \u201cThere is no reforming something so rotten and base.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is\u00a0an inversion of moral authority.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mass migration is framed as a moral and civilizational imperative, demanding compassion and openness, while serious pushback on enforcement is recast as intolerant, unjust, or even xenophobic. This framing mirrors elements of the Muslim Brotherhood\u2019s doctrine of\u00a0tamkeen<\/em>\u00a0(institutional entrenchment)<\/a>\u00a0outlined in strategic writings such as the 1991\u00a0Explanatory Memorandum<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and the 1982\u00a0Project<\/em><\/a>, which describe a phased civilizational strategy built on population presence, parallel institutions, resistance to full assimilation, and long-term influence over policy, law, and public narrative.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is not compassion. Someone who supports Sharia Law cannot have an allegiance to the U.S. Constitution–the two legal codes conflict. There is also the issue of taqiyya which essentially says that is is permissible under Islam to lie to an infidel in order to advance the cause of Islam.<\/p>\n
