On Sunday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about the quest for peace in Gaza.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Hamas leader Khaled Mashal declared that \u201cthe resistance and its weapons are our honor and glory\u201d and that \u201cthe battle is not over,\u201d boasting that rights are won \u201cat the recruitment office, not the U.N. Security Council\u201d \u2014 a declaration that directly contradicts President Donald Trump\u2019s 20-point Gaza peace plan and celebrates the October 7 \u201cAl-Aqsa Flood\u201d massacre as a turning point to push Israel off \u201cour homeland\u201d and the international stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t believe you can make peace with people who celebrate the events of October 7.<\/p>\n

The article notes:<\/p>\n

Speaking Saturday by video to the \u201cPledge to Jerusalem\u201d conference in Istanbul, the head of Hamas abroad used a keynote address carried<\/a> on Al Jazeera to lay out an uncompromising roadmap that flatly rejects the core elements of President Donald Trump\u2019s 20-point Gaza peace plan \u2014 disarmament, an international stabilization force, and Hamas\u2019s removal from power \u2014 even as the terror group moves toward Phase Two of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire it ostensibly accepted two months ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Notice that he was in Istanbul–not in Gaza. That seems to be the pattern of Hamas leadership–they stay away from the war zone.<\/p>\n

The article also reports:<\/p>\n

He urged the wider Islamic \u201cummah\u201d to commit to \u201cthe liberation of Jerusalem as the banner and symbol of freeing Palestine,\u201d including the \u201ccleansing\u201d of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the \u201creclaiming\u201d of Islamic and Christian holy sites, framing Gaza as the vanguard that launched the \u201cAl-Aqsa Flood\u201d massacre in 2023 and \u201cturned into the pride of the nation and the conscience of nations.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In remarks highlighted by multiple Israeli outlets, Mashal explicitly<\/a> rejected any \u201cguardianship, mandate and re-occupation\u201d over Gaza, the West Bank, or \u201call of Palestine,\u201d insisting that Palestinians \u201cneed protection, not guardians\u201d and that \u201cthe Palestinian is the one who governs himself and decides for himself.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
