{"id":61724,"date":"2025-11-18T08:27:47","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T13:27:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=61724"},"modified":"2025-11-18T08:27:47","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T13:27:47","slug":"this-really-is-not-a-surprise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=61724","title":{"rendered":"This Really Is Not A Surprise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/israel\/obscure-belgian-nonprofit-that-filed-more-than-1000-icc-cases-against-israeli-soldiers-has-ties-to-hezbollah-report-alleges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Free Beacon<\/a> reported that a group claiming to be working against war crimes that happens to have filed complaints against over one thousand Israeli soldiers has ties to Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>An obscure Belgian nonprofit that has single-handedly filed more than 1,000 complaints against Israeli soldiers at the International Criminal Court (ICC) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindrajabfoundation.org\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bills itself<\/a> as a neutral legal entity crusading against &#8220;war crimes and human rights violations perpetrated by the Israeli state.&#8221; According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/HR-Foundation-Report-September-2025-FINAL-VERSION-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new watchdog report<\/a>, though, one of its co-founders has openly identified himself as a former Hezbollah terrorist, and the organization itself is entrenched within Hezbollah\u2019s financing network across multiple continents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Lebanese-Belgian activist Dyab Abou Jahjah, who co-founded the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) in late 2024, described himself in a 2003 <em>New York Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2003\/03\/01\/world\/the-saturday-profile-an-outspoken-arab-in-europe-demon-or-hero.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">profile<\/a> as a &#8220;very proud&#8221; former Hezbollah member. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250111192350\/https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2002\/nov\/30\/20021130-102644-4460r\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrested<\/a> by Belgian authorities in 2002 for inciting Arab riots in Antwerp, and has <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Aboujahjah\/status\/1837117025346322544\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repeatedly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Aboujahjah\/status\/1857462852291801400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pledged<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Aboujahjah\/status\/1838974772429848932\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Aboujahjah\/status\/1724222653769109835\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allegiance<\/a> to Hezbollah and Hamas on social media. One of Europe\u2019s leading anti-Israel activists, Abou Jahjah allegedly remains &#8220;linked to organizations associated with U.S.-designated terrorist groups&#8221; like Hezbollah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the report states.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The HRF does not publicly disclose its funding structure, but the watchdog report identifies it as &#8220;part of Hezbollah\u2019s extensive business networks tied to families and local diaspora connections across Europe, Latin America, and Africa.&#8221; These networks, the report states, &#8220;are known to support front companies, informal trade, and layered laundering operations&#8221; through &#8220;used car exports, counterfeit goods, and commodity trades, facilitated through relatives or friendly businessmen.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>An HRF spokesman denied any affiliations with Hezbollah and described the watchdog report as &#8220;false, defamatory, and politically motivated.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8220;We have no ties\u2014financial, operational, or organizational\u2014to Hezbollah, Hamas, or any other group designated as a terrorist organization,&#8221; the organization said. &#8220;HRF operates transparently under Belgian and EU law, and is entirely funded by small public donations.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The sole specific piece of information the HRF spokesman disputed in an email exchange with the <em>Free Beacon<\/em> was the report\u2019s characterization of Hassoun as &#8220;Lebanese-Belgian,&#8221; stating that &#8220;both parents of Mr Hassoun Morrocan-Belgians [sic].&#8221; Though the spokesman said the report had misrepresented Hassoun\u2019s origins, both Israeli news outlet <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ynetnews.com\/article\/byyyk9ypkx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ynet<\/a><\/em> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adl.org\/resources\/backgrounder\/hind-rajab-foundation-and-dyab-abou-jahjah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anti-Defamation League<\/a> have also described Hassoun as Lebanese-Belgian.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The Trump administration may disagree with the spokesman\u2019s claims. A second senior U.S. official tracking the matter told the <em>Free Beacon<\/em>\u00a0 the watchdog group&#8217;s findings &#8220;are another example of the dangerous precedent being set by the ICC. We\u2019ve been clear that the United States will actively oppose actions that threaten our national interests and infringe on our sovereignty and that of our allies.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that the Islamic concept of taqiyya allows Muslims to lie to non-Muslims if the purpose of the lie is to advance the cause of Islam.
