Florida is expecting real estate prices to rise. A number of other states are offering refuge for fleeing New York City residents and fleeing Virginia residents. Kelly Ayotte is hoping to lure away disaffected New York City business owners chafing over Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani\u2019s victory in Tuesday\u2019s mayoral election.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cWe have a message for NYC businesses looking to flee Mayor Mamdani\u2019s higher taxes: Come to New Hampshire,\u201d Ayotte, a first-term Republican, wrote in a flurry of social media posts Wednesday. \u201cOur state is safe, prosperous, and free \u2014 what NYC used to be long ago.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Ayotte also dipped into her unused gubernatorial campaign funds to pay for a billboard truck ad to drive around downtown Manhattan, seeking to lure business owners with a similar pitch.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/KellyAyotteBillboard.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-61584 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/KellyAyotteBillboard.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"549\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/KellyAyotteBillboard.jpg 549w, https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/KellyAyotteBillboard-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/KellyAyotteBillboard-500x263.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px\" \/><\/a>Texas (being Texas) has taken another approach. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.click2houston.com\/news\/local\/2025\/11\/04\/gov-abbott-threatens-to-put-100-tariff-on-anyone-moving-to-texas-from-new-york-city-can-he-legally-do-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click2Houston<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In response to speculation about New Yorkers relocating to Texas after the results of New York City\u2019s mayoral race, Gov. Abbott announced on X on Monday that he would impose a \u201c100% tariff\u201d on anyone moving from the Big Apple after Tuesday\u2019s elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are some real questions as to whether the Governor of Texas can legally do that, but it is an interesting statement. Somehow New Jersey has gotten away with taxing people who move out of the state, so what is the problem with taxing people who move into a state? Also, Mamdani has threatened to tax businesses who leave New York City.
