On Monday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about a federal judge who has called for the arrest of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE<\/b>) agents who are arresting illegals at the Cook County Courthouse if the agents do not have a warrant. Wait a minute, the judge is supporting ignoring the criminals and arresting those trying to enforce the law. Didn’t the judge take an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution? Are you surprised that the judge was appointed by former President Biden?<\/span><\/p>\n

A Chicago-area judge has ruled that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers can be arrested at Cook County courthouses if they violate his orders and arrest a migrant without a warrant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings ordered<\/a> that ICE officers are barred from arresting migrants at courthouses if they don\u2019t have a warrant. He also ordered that federal law enforcement can be arrested if they violate his orders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The judge\u2019s order aimed to prevent what are called \u201ccollateral arrests\u201d of people whom ICE officers discover are illegal on the spot. These are migrants that ICE agents come across by happenstance while looking for someone they have a warrant to apprehend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cummings stated that courthouses must be places where witnesses and suspects feel safe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe fair administration of justice requires that courts remain open and accessible, and that litigants and witnesses may appear without fear of civil arrest,\u201d he said<\/a> in his order.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Judge Cummings also cited in his ruling arrests that have been made recently outside county courthouses where ICE has taken \u201ccollateral\u201d migrants into custody in the Chicago area.<\/strong><\/p>\n
