Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, President Donald Trump\u2019s director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), announced the closure of the agency\u2019s last remaining beagle experiment lab over the weekend after former NIH physician Dr. Anthony Fauci\u2019s horrific beagle-testing scandal was exposed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very easy, for instance, to cure Alzheimer\u2019s in mice. But those things don\u2019t translate to humans,\u201d Bhattacharya told<\/a>\u00a0Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy on Sunday:<\/strong><\/p>\n

When he made the announcement that \u201cWe got rid of all of the beagle experiments on NIH campus,\u201d Campus-Duffy said, \u201cAmen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

NIH confirmed the move on social media, saying it has enacted an \u201cinitiative to expand innovative, human-based science while reducing animal use in research, including getting rid of all the beagle experiments on the NIH campus.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

A years-long investigation<\/a> by medical watchdog group White Coat Waste revealed that the NIH killed over 2,100 beagles in \u201cbrutal septic shock experiments\u201d since 1986.<\/strong><\/p>\n
