On Monday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about the migrant smuggling machine that has made so much money during the past four years.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

What was once a \u201cwell-oiled migrant smuggling machine\u201d into the United States has collapsed thanks to President Trump\u2019s border enforcement and promise to deport every illegal alien in the country. So, to make money now, many of these same smugglers are taking self-deportees back to Venezuela.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Naturally, the far-left Associated Press reports on this<\/a> as though it\u2019s a bad thing\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThey once braved the jungles of the Darien Gap, trekking days along the perilous migrant passage dividing Colombia and Panama with a simple goal:\u00a0seek asylum in the U.S.,\u201d reports the AP. \u201cNow, boat-by-boat, those migrants \u2026 have given up after\u00a0President Donald Trump\u2019s crackdown\u00a0on asylum, and are returning to the countries they once sought to escape.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hey, all Trump did was enforce the law. If people want asylum, there is a legal way to ask for asylum at a point of entry. These folks didn\u2019t do that. Former President Joe Biden tried to aid and abet their lawlessness with an app that would grant them an asylum hearing, but that\u2019s now how it works, that is not the law, and Trump killed the app.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So now, tee hee\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

After explaining that the boats had until recently been \u201cpart of a well oiled migrant smuggling machine\u201d that was extremely lucrative for the smugglers, who took advantage of a seemingly unending influx of \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d heading in the United States, AP came to my favorite part:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBut now that much of the Darien\u2019s migrant smuggling industry has collapsed, some smugglers are taking advantage of the reverse migration to charge steep costs to migrants \u2013 between $200 and $250 per person, including minors \u2013 for the boat rides.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I admit that our immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed. However, as long as we elect politicians rather than patriots, that system is not going to be fixed. Meanwhile, we need to enforce the laws as they are written. When illegal aliens self-deport, it saves the government money.
