On February 6th, Hot Air<\/a> posted an article the Democrats’ battle to save the United States Agency for International Development (<\/span>USAID). Aside from the fact that most Americans would like to cut government spending somewhere, the spending cuts the Democrats are protesting would probably be spending cuts most Americans would approve. This is not a smart battle on the part of the Democrats.<\/p>\n

\u2014 $4.5+ million to \u201ccombat disinformation\u201d in Kazakhstan<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $1.5 million for \u201cart for inclusion of people with disabilities\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $2 million for sex changes and \u201cLGBT activism\u201d in Guatemala<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $6 million to \u201ctransform digital spaces to reflect feminist democratic principles\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $2.1 million to help the BBC \u201cvalue the diversity of Libyan society\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $10 million worth of USAID-funded meals, which went to an al Qaeda-linked terrorist group<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $25 million for Deloitte to promote \u201cgreen transportation\u201d in the country of Georgia<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $6 million for tourism in Egypt<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $1.1 million to an Armenian \u201cLGBT group\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $1.2 million to help the African Methodist Episcopal Church Service and Development Agency in Washington, D.C., build \u201ca state-of-the-art 440 seat auditorium\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $1.3 million to Arab and Jewish photographers<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $1.5 million to promote \u201cLGBT advocacy\u201d in Jamaica<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $500K to solve sectarian violence in Israel (just ten days before the Hamas October 7 attack)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 $2.3 million for \u201cartisanal and small scale gold mining\u201d in the Amazon<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2014 USAID\u2019s \u201cclimate strategy\u201d outlined a $150 billion \u201cwhole-of-agency\u201d approach to building an \u201cequitable world with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
