On Monday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) objecting to a new law proposed by the L.A. City Council to bar anti-Israel protesters from the entrances to synagogues. Why should churches or synagogues be forced to let protesters into their facilities? Just for the record, CAIR is the lawfare division of the Muslim Brotherhood.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

The proposal is a response to a rise in antisemitism in the city associated with anti-Israel protests, especially several incidents in June in which pro-Palestinian activists targeted local synagogues, obstructing entrances in one case<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

City Council members Katy Yaroslavsky and\u00a0Bob Blumenfield demanded<\/a> action in June, calling for more resources for safety. They are the authors of the new proposal, which would require<\/a> an eight-foot \u201cbubble zone\u201d around synagogues and other religious institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Los Angeles Times<\/em> described<\/a> the proposal in August, reporting that it \u201cwould make it a misdemeanor for protesters to intentionally block the entrances of healthcare facilities, schools or religious institutions \u2014 or demonstrate within 8 feet of anyone trying to get inside. The protective 8-foot \u201cbubble\u201d would be required within 100 feet of a facility\u2019s entrance.\u201d It would apply to mosques as well as to synagogues.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CAIR has objected to the proposal, alleging that it intentionally targets pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel activists<\/strong><\/p>\n

If we have bubble zones around abortion clinics, why can’t we have them around religious institutions to protect the people going there?<\/p>\n

CAIR\u2019s national executive director, Nihad Awad, said<\/a> that he was happy at the terror attack of October 7, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2007-8, CAIR was\u00a0named<\/a>\u00a0an unindicted co-conspirator in the terror financing trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development. That case, in turn, led the FBI to\u00a0discontinue<\/a>\u00a0its work with the organization. In 2009, a federal judge\u00a0ruled<\/a>\u00a0that the government \u201cproduced ample evidence to establish\u201d the ties of CAIR with Hamas, the Palestinian terror organization. The United Arab Emirates\u00a0labeled<\/a>\u00a0CAIR a terrorist organization in 2014 (a decision that the Obama administration\u00a0opposed<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n

CAIR\u2019s Los Angeles chapter also offered<\/a> to help the family of two Islamic terrorists in nearby San Bernardino in 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These are not people who care about America or the American Constitution.<\/p>\n
