{"id":56225,"date":"2024-08-22T11:08:07","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T15:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=56225"},"modified":"2024-08-22T11:08:07","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T15:08:07","slug":"why-would-anyone-want-to-prevent-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=56225","title":{"rendered":"Why Would Anyone Want To Prevent This?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/20\/biden-doj-asks-scotus-to-squash-arizonas-proof-of-citizenship-voter-requirements-for-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Federalist<\/a> posted an article about the Department of Justice wanting to block a law from taking effect in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday requested the U.S. Supreme Court \u201cdeny\u201d Republicans\u2019 bid to enforce an Arizona law requiring individuals to prove they\u2019re U.S. citizens when registering and voting in elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Arguing on behalf of the administration, U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/DocketPDF\/24\/24A164\/322624\/20240816120403502_24A164%20Govt%20Response.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">requested<\/a> that the nation\u2019s highest court instead allow a lower court decision \u2014 one prohibiting the implementation of provisions of the statute in question \u2014 to remain in effect for the November election.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article notes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>As The Federalist previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/10\/republicans-ask-scotus-to-greenlight-arizonas-proof-of-citizenship-requirement-for-voter-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, the 2022 law mandated residents to show documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) when registering via state voter registration forms. The statute also required such proof for individuals submitting mail-in ballots and voting in presidential contests.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>(In Arizona, individuals who do not provide DPOC when registering to vote are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/12\/elon-musk-rightly-says-arizona-doesnt-verify-federal-voter-citizenship-but-the-feds-dont-let-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">permitted<\/a>\u00a0to do so as \u201cfederal-only voters\u201d and cast ballots in federal elections).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8230;According to <a href=\"https:\/\/azfreenews.com\/2021\/09\/over-11600-no-proof-of-citizenship-required-federal-ballots-cast-in-2020-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AZ Free News<\/a>, more than 11,600 individuals voted via \u201cfederal-only\u201d ballots during the Grand Canyon State\u2019s 2020 election. That\u2019s larger than Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/election\/2020\/results\/state\/arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">margin of victory<\/a> (10,457 votes) over Donald Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The strategy here is very simply. Many illegal aliens are coming across the border with &#8220;Biden&#8221; t-shirts. It is obvious how they will vote. Every vote case by a person voting illegally cancels out the vote of an American voting legally.
