A two-time Olympic gold medalist in women\u2019s boxing called a Thursday Olympic boxing match between a biological male from Algeria and a female Italian boxer \u201cscary.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Angela Carini ended<\/a> the match against Imane Khelif after 46 seconds following a series of hard blows to the head that left the Italian boxer with a broken nose. Claressa Shields, who won<\/a> gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, said on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Newsroom\u201d that the Olympic committees \u201cdropped the ball.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t imagine getting inside the ring with a biological man,\u201d Shields told \u201cAmerica\u2019s Newsroom\u201d co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino. \u201cEven though I sparred against a man, but fighting for the Olympics is way bigger than that and so much more on the line to have to go with a opposite gender. Women fight against women and men fight against men, so, I don\u2019t see how the Olympics could have done something like this.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

You used to be put in jail for beating a woman. Now it’s an Olympic sport. I don’t think this is a good image to show either your son or your daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I don\u2019t have anything against transgender women or transgender men,\u201d Shields said. \u201cAll I\u2019m saying is men should fight against men, women should fight against women and transgenders should fight against transgenders.
