It will mean that both sides will try to use the legal system as a way of winning elections.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Trump is accused of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment involving porn star Stormy Daniels.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n …”If there’s an acquittal, maybe at least we can say the jury system works,” Dershowitz said. “But if there’s a conviction or even a hung jury, it will show that the prosecution benefits from bringing a case, which is no crime at all.”<\/strong><\/p>\n Dershowitz, who was in the New York courtroom, went on to criticize Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the Trump case.<\/strong><\/p>\n “I don’t know the reason but it’s obvious that he is not unbiased in this case,” he said. “He wants a conviction.<\/strong><\/p>\n It is distressing that Loren Merchan, the Judge’s daughter, has been raising money for Democrats using the case as a fund-raising tool.
