On Friday, The Federalist<\/a> posted an article about groups targeted as terrorists by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The unfortunate part of the story is that the FBI is getting its information on exactly who is a terrorist from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), long known to be a very left-leaning organization.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

The FBI trained personnel on countering extremism with material from the far-left\u00a0Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)<\/a>, according to former special agent turned whistleblower Steve Friend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an\u00a0interview\u00a0<\/a>with the Tennessee Informer last month, Friend recalled his experience at the FBI Academy in 2014: \u201cWe were shown a video that was produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center.\u201d The film, Friend said, \u201cranked people who oppose abortion, pro-life activists, as a greater threat than Islamists.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if they still show that,\u201d Friend added, \u201cbut that\u2019s what we were shown.\u201d<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The FBI still relies on SPLC material a decade later, leading a pair of top Republican senators to\u00a0demand\u00a0<\/a>the agency sever ties with the leftist hate group that routinely smears right-of-center associations as \u201chate groups.\u201d SPLC\u2019s false \u201chate group\u201d designations led to\u00a0a domestic terrorist attack in 2012<\/a>\u00a0on the offices of a pro-family organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SPLC also\u00a0lists\u00a0<\/a>the first Amendment legal non-profit, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) as a \u201cdesignated hate group.\u201d ADF has won cases at the Supreme Court 15 times, setting significant precedents in favor of Americans\u2019 constitutional rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Friend was asked on the Tennessee Informer whether students at the FBI Academy pushed back at the use of a leftist hate group to train agents that pro-lifers are a worse threat than Islamic terrorists.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere was some eye rolling,\u201d Friend said, because his peers at the time were a group that \u201cleans more conservative, more libertarian. \u201cIt\u2019s probably very different now,\u201d Friend added.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you\u2019re at the Academy for the FBI, a lot of people are a little bit older,\u201d Friend said. \u201cNow the FBI is actually recruiting young people so they can indoctrinate them further.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t think our Founding Fathers ever considered that people who stood up for the unborn would be considered a greater threat to our Republic than Islamic terrorists.<\/p>\n
