Circuit Court of Appeals after Trump filed an emergency request on Thursday saying the order violated his First Amendment rights.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The court issued an administrative stay, saying that the decision was made to give the judges more time to hear Trump\u2019s arguments. The court\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-election-gag-order-lifted-appeals-speech-f0aeb12e64ee0b3bb7544d6949368653\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0that the ruling \u201cshould not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, an appointee of former President Barack Obama,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/judge-reinstates-gag-order-against-trump-in-federal-election-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">had imposed<\/a>\u00a0the gag order on Trump Sunday night after Trump criticized former chief of staff Mark Meadows.\u00a0Chutkan is overseeing special counsel Jack Smith\u2019s federal election case against Trump, who has denied any allegations of wrongdoing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Imposing a gag order on a leading candidate for public office sets a scary precedent, and I hope it gets entirely removed.
