On Wednesday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about the claim by IRS C<\/span>ommissioner Daniel Werfel that the Department of Justice made the decision to purge an IRS whistleblower from the DOJ\u2019s probe into Hunter Biden<\/span>. I doubt we will ever know the truth about what actually happened in this instance, but it makes for an interesting story.<\/p>\n

IRS C<\/span>ommissioner\u00a0Daniel Werfel\u00a0told Congress the\u00a0Justice Department (DOJ) made the decision to purge an IRS whistleblower from the DOJ\u2019s probe into Hunter Biden,\u00a0<\/span>according to a letter sent to House Ways and Means Committee Chair\u00a0<\/span>Jason Smith (R-MO).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Werfel\u2019s letter on May 17 responded to Smith\u2019s May 16 inquiry about concerns that a high-ranking IRS agent faced retaliation for raising red flags about alleged political interference<\/a> in the tax probe of Hunter Biden.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Werfel said the decision to remove a whistleblower from the tax investigation was at the DOJ\u2019s direction,\u00a0confirming<\/a>\u00a0what a second IRS whistleblower alleged Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new whistleblower\u00a0claimed<\/a>\u00a0leadership excluded his team from the case after it learned of \u201clongstanding concerns\u201d about the handling of the probe. The concerns allegedly angered a redacted \u201cU.S. Attorney for the District\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

David Weiss, U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, a Trump administration appointee, is the lead prosecutor in the case.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The whistleblower also alleged the DOJ and the U.S. Attorney\u2019s office are responsible for his team\u2019s removal from the probe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In March, Garland\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Congress that Weiss has the autonomy to recommend changes. Yet Biden\u2019s attorney general also\u00a0admitted<\/a> he has the sole authority to sign off on the charges.<\/strong><\/p>\n
