According to America First Legal (AFL), a judicial watchdog, an investigation of the raid confirmed that the FBI gained access to NARA records through a \u201cspecial access request\u201d made by the Biden White House on behalf of the Department of Justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-reader-unique-id=\"5\"><strong>\u201cOn August 8, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted an unprecedented raid of Mar-a-Lago on the ground that potentially classified records existed there. According to press reports, Biden Administration aides were \u201cstunned\u201d to hear of this development,\u201d AFL begins <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/america-first-legals-investigation-reveals-the-biden-white-house-was-involved-with-the-mar-a-lago-raid-and-that-nara-misled-congress-afl-launches-additional-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. \u201cHowever, new NARA records obtained through America First Legal\u2019s investigation into the circumstances surrounding the Mar-a-Lago raid further confirmed that the FBI obtained access to these records through a \u2018special access request\u2019 from the Biden White House on behalf of the Department of Justice (DOJ).\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>According to AFL, it appears that \u201cthe Biden White House and DOJ coordinated to obtain the Trump records and perhaps create a pretext for the law enforcement raid by way of the \u2018special access request.&#8217;\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In addition to confirming that the White House was involved in setting up Trump, AFL also proves that the National Archives misled Congress about the role the White House played in the raid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under President Obama and President Biden we have seen a lot of political use of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
